I have the whole set of those books.
They are children's books.

I have some of the Japanese ones. They're really good at helping kids understand that bodily functions are perfectly normal and healthy.

Some of them look good. It's sad that children have to learn the harsh realities of life (daddy going to prison books)

Okay, I was just doing a "drive by" earlier, and didn't realize it was a children's book. But the reviews certainly were not very flattering. I guess I remain unimpressed since the book they recommend to go with it is a "farting" book. No offense anyone, to each their own!

They are really good books and you should not judge a book by it's cover.

Pun intended, right? ;)

We have several of the Japanese series too...they are great books...my daughter is too young for them right now, but I think they are awesome for preschoolers.

DanaLynn, ITA.

These books come from a different cultural perspective than our own, and being from that culture, I find it offensive that the books have become fodder for ridicule.

I've read these and they're actually very cute. I would buy them for Nora. :)

Hey, if they'll get them interested in reading, I say go for it!

I found it kind of offensive that the writer said that the books about kids with Special Needs were "creepy." On the other hand, I did find this book pretty weird:

eta that the reviews were what were especially weird!

I actually love those books, and so does my daughter. They're really funny and honest.

EllyBelle-I of course had to go on and look at that book and reviews...WEIRD is right! Things that make you go hmmmm...

For people who have a closed mind, this book will disturb them. For open minded folks, this book may help your child deal with some amazing adventures that most of us may have experienced during childhood. We forget entiire years of our lives. As children, if we reported experiences such as the book describes, we were told that we're making it up and to stop telling lies. But were they lies or the truth from an honest child looking for answers. Get this book for your child and see if they recognize the grey alien in the book. Joe
