Just wondering how much everyone paid/is paying for their ceremony music assuming it doesn't come with the church.

Also what instruments did you have and how many people.

Thanks

We had a string trio...$100 a person. (my mom is a music teacher and had connections...each member of the trio was like 18 or 19 years old, and sounded professional!).

Sometimes, you can find a young person who plays JUST AS NICE as a professional, and get a steal.

My mom is a pianist and charges like $125 an hour for weddings.

I had a harpist. She was $250. I got her for 1/2 hour before the ceremony and the ceremony.

We paid $400. for 2 hours for (2)strings and a (1)trumpeter. It was one of my favorite touches.

Thanks everyone. I just wanted to make sure I knew a price range before I started looking.

we were lucky we didnt pay anything for our musicians. we have lots of friends who are musicians so we had some of them do our music. we had a pianist and violinist and a few vocalists.

Hey Melissa,

I finally contacted the guy my decorator recommended. His mom said on average $100 per player.... for about 1.5 hours of 'work'.

I will let you know when I hear back a definate answer from him, and if we can get a sample of his music.

Hey Tara,

Well I found 3 people I like. 2 I can hear their music on the internet, the 3rd, I am supposed to but I can't. But with tavel costs we are looking at $450, which is kinda more than I wanted to spend, but looks like it is the norm.

I paid $100 for the hour that my pianist was there for our ceremony. We were connected with her through our church though, so we probably got a slightly better deal due to that.
