View Full Version : Jeans that aren't "low rise" but are still stylish?

Ok, the truth is I'm too fat to wear low rise jeans. I get gushy "love handles" over the sides and it is just not flattering.

So I need jeans that aren't so low, but are still stylish.

Is flair out? I found these at Gap that look like they might work, but they say "flair". Thoughts? or styles and brands to suggest?

What you are looking for is jeans that say "just below the waist" with a flare leg. Very stylish and very flattering! They have them everywhere, from The Gap, to Walmart to the high end stores. They are usually in the misses department, not juniors.

I wear Gap Flare. It's not really a flare, they look pretty straight on me. I like them :) because they are not that low-cut in the waist.

My sister shies away from low-rise jeans for the same reasons you mentioned, but I bought her a pair of low-rise boot-cut Gap jeans--their "Low rise" isn't very low--she found the rise to be perfect.

Gap curvy jeans are awesome for post-partum. :)

You could also try Lerner jeans. They are not what I would consider low-rise at all but are still stylish.

Definately try NY&Company. I got a few pair there a couple of months ago. It's hard to get used to a "normal" rise, after having worn low rise for so many years, but they are more flattering on someone like me who has some hips. I believe that the ones I have are boot cut, and they have short and long sizes too.

I buy "just below the waist" jeans at Old Navy.

I have the same issue as you and I really love Victoria's Secret's London Jeans in the Boyfriend Bootcut style. just below the waist, but high enough to hold my belly in and the legs flare enough to balance my hips
