I am having a birthday party for my dog. Does anyone know where online I can order supplies?? Mainly a birthday cake mix that is okay for dogs to eat.

I had a birthday party for my dog but I used regular people birthday party supplies. He had a Scooby Doo party and I found tons of stuff at the local party store.
I have found a lot of good recipes from Three Dog Bakery. Three Dog Bakery (www.threedog.com)
We bought hats and shortened the string to fit him. We also had a "Birthday Boy" medal which we cut to fit around his neck. We ordered the obligatory balloons, banners, and party favors. We made some of the cookies out of the Three Dog Bakery to put in the goody bag for his friends.

Meghann - That picture is too cute!!! How you got your dog to wear that hat and pose so perfectly is beyond me, but he is adorable!!!

Houseblend, I have no idea! It is the only good picture I got, though. I don't think I'd ever be able to get him to do it again!

that is absolutely adorable!!
We don't have a dog (yet) but my mom's dog just had a birthday about a week ago and she bought her some sort of doggie ice cream or something... can't remember exactly what it was, but apparently Blackie really enjoyed it. She said that it looked like those little cups of ice cream that came with the little wooden spoon, but for dogs (and minus the spoon LOL)...

The ice cream TX Sweetheart is talking about is probably Frosty Paws...you can find it at most grocery stores. I've seen dog b-day cake mixes and pans at SitStay.com.
Have fun!

I get Frosty Paws at the grocery store, too. Oliver loves it. The ones I get are peanut butter flavored.

OMG IrishMeg that is one of the cutest things I think I have ever seen. It's nice to see that I'm not the only crazy one wanting to throw a bday party for my dog.
Thanks for all the suggestions everyone, you have definately helped me.

I'd throw my dogs a b-day party if I could... I gurantee you, my fh would commit me to the insane assylum if I even mentioned it though. He doesn't understand the 'need' to dress a dog up, let alone throw him a bday party

Thank you! I think he's pretty darn cute myself!! :D
Hubby would absolutely kill me if he knew that I posted this picture... much less admitted to having a "party" for Lucy's first birthday! I just made cupcakes for us to eat and she got some presents. It was just us... didn't invite people over. I guess I did it for photo purposes, and now I'm embarassed to share them! :p

Those are all her buddies on the table. Hubby sewed up her favorite one that she had busted & wrapped it in toilet paper. It was a mess, but so cute when she "unwrapped" it!

Yup I think it was Frosty Paws... My mom said it was kinda expensive so it'll definitley be a treat when Blackie gets it.

IrishMeg Thank you for posting that picture! I remember it from the old WC pug thread...OMG, he's adorable!!!!
And Bee, I had to crack up at your post. My DH is the same way...I had to insist on a birthday party for Jo but once they day came around he had alot of fun. I can't believe your DH sewed up Lucy's toy! Now that's love!
We had one for Jo last spring and my family came over. LOL. It was a fun excuse to have cake and ice cream. I made Jo a seperate cake that had a bananas and carob frosting. She loved it but since it was a normal size cake alot of it went to waste.
I swear I got the recipe I used at this site, but I couldn't find it at first glance. http://www.getrecipe.com/DogRecipes.asp

Very cute picture too Bee (Don't be ashamed of your pary, I think it's great). I love the pictures you guys have. My dog Roxy's birthday is this Saturday so I'll be sure to post the results. I ordered the cake and pan off of a website ( now I can't remember I'll have to look).
Another question is can I put her name on it in normal frosting?? Is that bad for dogs??

It probably isn't good for dogs but I did it. He didn't have a lot of cake so I don't think he got that much icing. It was more for the photo ops! :)

I love it! You did a great job!!
How sweet! Maybe for Lucy's 2nd birthday, she'll wear the hat without us having to hold it?! If we do celebrate this occasion (it's next week) I'll be sure to post more pictures. :)

Chile: your pics are awesome. We had family over too and they had great fun making fun of my decorations. Roxy's cousins Buster and Deuce came too and I even had treat bags with doggy goodies inside. It was tons of fun!
