hi!
recently at a party i had a "pizza" appetizer that seemed like the 'sauce" was a cream cheese mixture and topped with veggies.
does anyone know what i'm talking about and have a recipe they'd like to share?
thanks!

ohh, my sister used to make this all the time.
The "dough" was like a crossaint. The "sauce" was cream cheese and I think maybe a taco sauce mixed in??

I love veggie pizza. I know a lot of people make it differently but this is how I do it.
- Buy 2 cans of the Pillsbury cresent rolls (usually the reduced fat kind)
- 2 packages(not the type in the container) of plain cream cheese
- ranch dressing
- assorted vegetables
Layer a cookie sheet with the cresent rolls and bake. Once they have cooled, soften the cream cheese in the microwave(don't melt!) and add 1/2 a cup of ranch dressing. Put the cream cheese/ranch mixture on the cresent rolls and add veggies. I like carrots, cucumbers, onions, and broccoli. Let it chill in the fridge for 1-2 hours, cut and serve. Yum :)

Was it a Pampered Chef Party? If so, here's that recipe...
Cool California Pizza
*1 package (8oz) refrigerated crescent rolls
*1 oz (1/4 cup) fresh parmesan cheese, grated
*1 package (8oz) cream cheese, softened
*1 med. garlic clove, pressed
*1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, sliced OR 2 tsp. dried basil leaves
*1 can (14oz) artichoke hearts in water, drained and cut
*2 med. plum tomotoes, seeded and diced
*1/2 cup pitted ripe olives, drained and chopped
-unroll cresent roll dough and seperate into triangles. arrange triangles in a circle w/ points toward center. roll dough into 12 in. circle to seal seams. bake at 350 for 12-15 min.
-grate paremesan cheese. combine w/ cream cheese. add garlic. add half of basil to cream cheese mixture. spread cream cheese over top of crust. cut artichokes into bit sized pieces. remove seeds from tomatoes and dice. coarsely chop olives. top pizza w/ vegetables and remaining basil.
Hope that helps.

This is the one I make.
VEGETARIAN PIZZA
Fresh broccoli
Fresh cauliflower
Carrots
(I put the above veggies in a food processor and chop in small pieces... I put all the veggies in together. You can also put in green pepper chopped up or whatever veggies you like.)
Finely grated cheddar cheese (for the top)
2 pkgs. crescent rolls (Pillsbury)
2 (8 oz. each) cream cheese
1 package Hidden Valley dry dressing mix (regular or buttermilk)
1 cup mayonaise
Place crescents together on 9x11 baking sheet... press together to form crust. Bake as directed.
Combine dressing mix with cream cheese and mayo. Spread on top of cooled crust. (I usually cut this into small squares at this time.)
Spread chopped veggies on top of white mixture. I like to spread finely grated cheddar cheese on top of veggies! Sometimes, I cut cherry tomatoes in half and put 1/2 on each square.

I make the above recipe with the HVR packets (although we use cucumber instead of cauliflower), and it has always been a winner! We also use radishes: cut up really thinly, they add color and you can't really taste them. We also put them in the fridge to firm up a bit after assembling but before serving because it makes them easier to cut and handle.
