My fiance and I have had a hard time deciding on our bridal party. The solution that I think that we are going to go with is to have both males, and females stand on both side based upon which side they are closer to. So for instance, he will have his three sisters stand with him along with three groomsmen and I will have five bridesmaids and my brother.
If you did this, do you have photos?
Also, how did you handle the processional?
Thanks :)

My FH was a 'bridesmaid' only a few weeks ago.
The 'best man' was a women.
They Bride and Groom felt the same as you, they are your friend, they will stand up on your side!
All the females wore the same dress, all the guys wore the same suite.
The female 'best man' stood at the alter with the groom and the groomsman.
My FH walked down the aisel on his own (holding his hands in front of him)
For the presessional the female Best Man was escorted by the male bridesmaid and the MOH was escorted by the groomsman.
Worked great!.... Terry took a lot of ribbing during speches for being a bridesmaid, but he was a good sport, and the bride recommended to all future brides to have a guy on their side! Someone to hold your lipstick and kleenex!
Anyway, here is a picture.....

Thanks, Lilgeek. That's the idea that we're going for, only we will have a much larger wedding party. Anyone else?

I was a guest at a wedding where there were 2 men who were "bridesmen". While the groomsmen wore silver bow ties and cumberbuns, the bridesmen wore lavender, which was the same color as the bridesmaids dresses. So that way, the bridesmen were distinguished from the groomsmen in some way.
Sorry, no photos since it wasn't my wedding.
If I remember the processional correctly, every bridesmaid, groomsman and bridesman walked down along--which may or may not work out for you w/ a big bridal party, considering it makes the processional loooooong. ;)

My brother and SIL's wedding didn't have opposites on each side, but my brother had 2 groomsmen and 2 groomswomen. He just had the girls buy the same black dress.
As far as the processional, his girls just walked alongside us bridesmaids. My grandmother thought it was weird, but I thought it was cool! They were 2 of my brother's closest friends...why not? We're having a female usher for our wedding.

I like it when the "groomsmaids"(?) wear the black dress to blend in with all the tuxedos of the guys they're standing with. I've seen it both ways, and when the girls wear a light color dress (i.e. pink, that's where the eye goes first in pictures, and that's not always a good thing when the bride and groom are in the middle) :)
As far as the processional goes... pair up the ones that are on the "opposite" sides if possible, or they could always walk alone... it's your wedding so do what makes you happiest!
