Scrapbooking?

So who here scrapbooks? A co-worker of mine is doing one for her dad's 60th birthday and I went with her to a local scrapbook store and got interested. I've never done one before but think it'd be a neat gift for my fiance for christmas. The thing is, I'm the world's most UN CREATIVE person :o I don't even know where to start. Anyone a scrapbook novice? Where did everyone go for ideas? Any online sources? How long do scrapbooks usually take to finish? Any help would be appreciated ;)

My sil is a creative memories consultant (think tupperware of scrapbooking) and they sell kits to complete a little scrapbook in about 4 hours. now you do have to buy the 6X6 size scrapbook and the kit and then pick out your photos but they have the layouts all pre done and it goes quick and helps you decide what type of scrapper you are
