I don't think the whole team will REMAIN together, but I can hope.

Any others OBSESSED with CSI: The Original?

Not only am I obsessed, I watch only the original show.

Remember, at the end of the last season, after they found Nick and rescued him, Grisolm told his boss he wanted his 'team' back. So, hopefully, this means he will get his way and the old team is back together!! :D

Whatever happens, I hope he and Sara never end up together. For some reason, she ANNOYS me.

When does season 5 come out on DVD? I need it to add to my collection....of seasons 1-4. As well as the books by Max Allan Collins...*sigh* Is there a support group?

What books?? :o

jenahdawn

Oh, there are 7 of them.....go to your nearest B&N and look in the mysetry section...Max Allan Collins.

(trying to remember the titles because I am too lazy to go downstairs, plus my foot is asleep)

Double Dealer, Cold Burn, Grave Matters, and four others....as well as a "graphic novel" called "Serial".

They are pretty good....

Are the books based on the show?

jenahdawn
09-20-2005, 11:54 AM
Yes and no. I mean, it's the same characters, there are crimes...their stories. But none that were ever used on the show, but some of them referr to incidents that happened on the show.

So, they are based on the show, but no one affiliated with the show writes them....but they consult.

It's hard to explain, but if you read one, you'd understand. And MAC does a VERY good job with each character's nuances.

(I'm having a bad spelling day)

Another CSI fan here! I can't wait for the new season to start. The season finale last year was great! I'm so glad that I had recorded it to rewatch.
I hope that the whole team is together again, too. It sure sounded like that's what they were going to do, when Grissom said that he wanted his team back. I guess we'll have to wait another 2 days to find out!

So, what did everyone think of the episode the other night? I was glad to see the team back working together again, & also that Eckley was nowhere in sight! ;)

I thought it was a great opener. I was surprised with Warrick, but I'm sure there will be some storyline with him and Catherine. I'm not sure how I feel about the detective -the one who was a CSI last year. I never really cared for her, so I hope she doesn't hook up with Gil.

I kind of like her. Not sure if I want to see her hook up with Gil or not, though...although I think I might like to see them together rather than Gil & Sarah. *shrug*

jenahdawn

I don't like her....but I agree....better than him and Sara.

As for Warrick....yeah....I'd heard the tail end of the ET story on CSI, so I knew going in, and I remember LAST season opener where he and Cath were THISCLOSE to kissing. I've always thought they should hook up, but now that he's all hitched....

And, I LOVE that Greg gets to be out in the field, and I love that he seems to pick up on most stuff pretty quick. (I know it happened last season, but I STILL love it!)

Supposedly, that new/old chick's going to be the boss.....wonder what happened to Eckley......

And, anyone else irritated with how much the tape was played up and it was almost non-existant on Thursday?

I am SOOOOOOOOOO happy I found this thread! I'm addicted to CSI and also only watch the original. It's on every night on Spike tv from 6 central until 8central, so I get 2 hours each day and then a new one on thursday!!!

Don't have time right now to give my opinion on all of the peeps, but I do have them!

Oh, and this is the only place I can say this and be somewhat normal. I dreamt about CSI all night, like I was part of their world and stuff, which was cool, but then the last 2 hours of the night I dreamt I was having s-e-x with Grissom. I just think he is MAJOR sexy, and let me tell you I woke up sweaty, so the dream was too!!!

Did anyone watch this tonight? Does anyone know the name of the song that played at the beginning and end (something about familiar faces). The song sounds so familiar (no pun intended) and I know I've heard it before, but maybe not on the radio, maybe just on another show. I'd be so grateful if anyone knows what this is--it's driving me crazy!

Thanks!

Bumping this thread- if there is another more recent one please let me know :)

Anyone want to speculate about the picture that supposedly holds clues to the finale? So far what I've come up with is that there is no sign of Brass in the pic (unless he is the one with the bullet hole in his back- I hope not!) and that none of them are actually looking at the body, except maybe Nick.

Also the sign in the window says "Play" backwards- a playback of some kind or a repeat of something that has happened before?

It looks like Gil is either holding something in his visible hand or has a bandage on his middle finger.

Warrick doesn't look like he's wearing his wedding ring, but it's hard to tell.

There are two other bullet holes in the table- one right above the stool to the right of the dead guy, and one a little above that, right below the counter.

Anyone else spot anything??

kcjaime
04-24-2006, 07:12 AM
In Michael Ausiello's Ask Ausiello column he does each week at TVGUIDE.com, he suggested that it's not what's in the picture, but rather what (or who) isn't.

Make of that what you will! I have a guess, but who knows. :)

jenahdawn
04-24-2006, 08:07 AM
My SIL think Warrick is looking at Catherine and his ring's off. (Makes sense to me, the tension between them. And, the only one, besides him, that is married and STILL married is Doc Robbins. The rest are divorced, badly, or still single)

That better not be Brass.

Okay, so Brass isn't in it (in my mind, and cuz I don't want it to be)....unless...what color suit did the rapper send him?

But, even though she's not a major character, they kind of tried to make her one, Sophia isn't, either....

Off to look at the picture again....

re: clues

the neon sign changes from "play" to "dead". And Sara and Grissom's heads both turn towards Brass (if that is supposed to be Brass). Grissom's whole body position changes. Don't know how that's a "clue" though ??? There is also something written on the stool next to the dead guy that I can't quite make out.

Last night's episode was good - we'll still have to see next week's episode , but certinly not as good as last year's season finale. How do you beat that one?? it was ssooo good!!

I just do not want to see that. I love Grissom being the anti-relationship one of the group. His relationship is his work and his bugs, end of story. If they did anything with his character, and especially with Sara - uck. I just see Grissom as a fatherly role to everyone else in the group!

ITA! Sara is not the relationship-type person. I don't know what it is about her, but I don't really care for her and I do not want to see her with Gil. The only person that works with Gil is Lady Heather and I think she's in jail right now.

I know Doc Robbins with the scapal had to do with the storyline last week along with the Lucky Dragons casino, but what about the guy that was shot? That didn't look like Brass. It just seems like this finale was WAY overhyped.

I don't know...I was thinking about that picture - especially at the end - and was trying to figure out if I had missed something. It pretty much seemed like a regular episode with the Brass storyline thrown in there every once in a while. Not what I was expecting at all.

Last season's finale had my heart racing the whole time - practically had me in a panic attack at times. :o Tonight's episode didn't take hold of my emotions like that. It just wasn't as intense as I thought it would be. *shrug*

I agree. I still have last seasons finale on Tivo, I might have to watch that again cause tonights show was just a regular show for me. Aside from the ending and all I can say to that is "shivers" I just do not see those two together. I see him more with the blonde cop lady.

I was very disappointed in this "finale". I was hoping for a little more. When I realized that the episode was almost over, I was wondering when they were going to "throw" in the GG + ?? - SPOILER When I saw the robe, I was secretly hoping it was going to be Sofia.... alas, so wrong... so wrong... Where did that come from? Trying to make up for the episode earlier in the year that they were supposed to hook up in (one with the kidnapped girl where Nick saved the day by following the bubble gum trail..)

Anyhow, was very anticlimatic for me...

jimmysgirl424
05-19-2006, 05:35 AM
I agree, this episode just did not have the intensity and emotion that last season's finale held for me. The whole Brass thing just seemed to be thrown in at the last minute and wasn't very well put together. So, he flatlined twice and they were able to bring him back both times and of course his daughter was there watching the second time. Can we say predictable??? Blech. I don't know, the whole episode just didn't capture my interest and seemed to drag in the worst way. I didn't care for either of the two cases that they solved along the way. Boooorrrrring!!!!!

I must be in a minority. I don't mind Gil and Sarah hooking up. :p

I actually sat up and said "Ewww!" at the TV when Sarah walked out of the bathroom. As soon as the camera panned out on Grissom a little bit and I could see that he was on a bed, I knew it wasn't going to be good. Absolutely nothing! TPTB really hyped this finale up and then pssst, nada. When they showed Sara walking towards Gil, I was praying it was the blonde cop. She has better chemistry with Gil.

I think the reason why Gil and Sarah hooking up doesn't bother me is because I was already halfway expecting it. The writers had hinted at some sparks flying between the two of them several times in the past few seasons, so I was pretty much waiting for it to happen.

I've seen the hints and the glances and such and I just don't feel them together as a couple, no chemistry. I was hoping the writers realized this and didn't go that route. Guess we'll have to wait and see for next season what becomes of it.

Count me in as one that was enjoying the Grissom/Sara flirtation. I liked how it was just there, very subtly, in some episodes. However, I think that this ending to the episode was pretty shocking, and almost too extreme. I mostly wish we could have just seen a kiss. That's what I expected, too, as they'd been building up to it in the last couple episodes. I really would have liked to have seen that.

Now the show has me wondering how long this has been going on. I feel sort of ripped off that we didn't get to see it unfold, as I think that would have been the most interesting part. Now I'm just afraid that they've crossed that line and that something will be ruined in the dynamic. I don't know-guess we'll have to see.

I also was bugged by their outfits-I guess I just like seeing them in character-appropriate clothes, and these just seemed completely unexpected for what I'd imagine either character to wear off work.

Weird.

This describes my reaction as well. We've been aware of the Grissom/Sarah dynamic literally for years now, but have always been led to believe Grissom held it in check due to work ethics. I felt cheated seeing them lounging around in their bathrobes, totally at ease and comfortable after having done something they've clearly done dozens of times by now.

Unlike many others, I would've had far more of an "ew" reaction had it been Sofia. Something about her really bugs me; I can't put my finger on it. I think ultimately, perhaps right before the show ends, Grissom will end up with Katherine.

I hated the ending. I watch CSI for the drama. That's why I think it's sucha great show. I was really disappointed that they threw Sara and Grissom together. WHile I have seen the sparks between them I was hoping it would stay at that. If I want romance I'll watch Lifetime. I think if they head in the direction of the twosome it will not make for good CSI.

p.s. George Eads is too hot for words. I wouldn't mind having a dream with him in it:D

Unlike many others, I would've had far more of an "ew" reaction had it been Sofia. Something about her really bugs me; I can't put my finger on it. I think ultimately, perhaps right before the show ends, Grissom will end up with Katherine.

I agree about Sofia. She bugs me less this season, but she's not my favorite.

I hope Grissom doesn't end up with Katherine-I see ZERO sparks with them. I like Katherine with Warrick! I want to see some of that. :)

Warrick is pretty yummy, I'll admit (those eyes!). But in the long run, I think Grissom needs Katherine. He needs to be with someone he respects professionally, but who will loosen him up and normalize him (to the degree he can be normalized).
