 I know the president probably has lots of important things to say, but I really hope that it doesnt run over GA, and that GA starts AFTER the president does!!!
Hmph, does anyone even know what he's supposed to talk about? Besides, if it's important, I'd rather read a transcript, it's less distracting for me than hearing him. ;)

Bush is speaking about immigration reform says my DVR. NBC has him on the schedule from 8-8:25. Fox has him 8-8:20. CBS and ABC don't have it on the schedule yet.

I hate Izzy for putting George in that position. She is so out of control.

Yes, Meredith was so not talking about Doc at the end.

I feel bad for Addison as well.

Is it Monday night yet?

I was so blown away by tonights show!!! I sat here screaming at the tv from the minute it came on...

Izzy has completely lost it. I usually really love her.. But get a grip. I love Denny and all...But she's definaltey lost it. I think she's done after this...

The thing with Dr. Burke is AWFUL! I just sat there screaming at my tv. Terrible!! Surely, they won't kill him off.

I really like Addison...away from McDreamy. I hope they give her some other storyline's and keep her around...

Normally I'm all for Meredith and McDreamy....but it was nice to see him finally get jealous over her. She was definately not talking about the dog when she was hugging the vet....I'm not sure if I want them together or not now.

I can't wait until tomorrow! I hope season two doesn't take forever to come out on DVD...

Just had to join in and say that I was blown away by the actress who plays Izzie tonight. I never really thought highly of Katherine Heigl's acting ability and had relegated her to "just a pretty face" status, but...whoa. I know she looked pathetic, but something about watching her breakdown emotionally like that really got to me in a heavy way.

stevesbabygirl
05-15-2006, 12:07 AM

I thought her breakdown was too forced. It just didn't sit right with me; too hysterical. I really thought George was going to stop her; he is usually the one with the super high ethics, so I'm sure it was really tough for him to just stand back and watch.

Wow! My big thing right now is the minute I saw Izzy bring in the crash cart, all I could think of is, did dhe destroy the DNR? I just keep thinking she will go to shock him and someone will walk in and see the DNR and make her stop. I will be so pissed if that happens, like she would overlook that!

I just cannot believe how people just went along with Izzie's INSANE idea. I mean I know it's a tv show, but I was sooo disappointed that Burke went along withe lie and George didn't tackle her to the ground before she cut the cord.

I agree with kris97 there's no way she's going to get away with this. She's going to get in a TON of trouble.

Spoiler....However...I heard that the cast member wouldn't be leaving the show...just the intern program.

This show makes me dizzy with the circles it runs in. I swear. EVERYTHING ends up coming full circle in this show.

DH an I were just staring at the TV well into the commercial after that final scene with our jaws dropped. GEEEZ, if I wasn't so addicted to this show, i would be appaled by the unreality of it all. How many terrible things can happen to one group of people!?!?!?!?

I still have mixed feelings about Callie. It was so nice of her to help Mere in the end, but completely childish that she makes george choose sides. It's so stupid. And is anyone kinda weirded out by the "i love you" scene. Like, here is this strong, level headed woman, and her bf is trying to at least have her make peace with is friends, and she's professing her love to him in a locker room. I think george may be in love w/her too, but i don't know if we'll see him go there after how hurt he was by mere.

I was watching the whole scene with Izzy telling denny what they need to do and I was feeling like I was watching psycho!!!! She has completely lost it. Screaming hysterically at a man she barely knows who just wants to stop all the pain he is in. See, if i were him, I would not be thinking "she loves me, it's wonderful", I'd be thinking "get away psycho b*tch".

FANTASTIC EPISODE!!!!

But I keep wondering why Izzy would cut the cord, that woud be the first thing investigators would look for (that's my CSI mind working). Why not obstruct the line, pinch it, or something!

When I heard the gunshots, I thought Addison was going to be the one shot, she was leaving the hospital after her talk with the Chief.

He was a former employee.

DiscoDiva

The manager was an ass so one of his employee's went postal and showed up at work shooting. That's how so many employees ended up in the hospital. They said that the shooter disappeared after the shooting, so he was still on the loose. Evidently the pissed off employee was waiting outside of the hospital for the manager, so as soon as the jerk manager was released, he got shot right outside the door. Burke was coming in, so he got shot as well.

Sorry just a ton of random comments to make here.

Did they finish the story about the pregnant girl that went brain dead? I am thinking that one employee that was Bailey's patient was the father because he kept asking about her.

I also loved Bailey telling off the manager. Also loved Addison's talk with the chief. I couldn't imagine being in her situation. I am really liking her now.

Izzy has officially lost it!! I was also suprised that George didn't stop her. I was so pissed that she put him in that situation. You don't put someone else's job on the line like that!! I'm wondering how he is going to respond...take the fall because she is "family" or go tell the other doctors and cover his arse. I would be so pissed if she did that to me.

I can't wait for tonight's big finale!!

Daisy is right. The helicopter landing would have been on the roof of the hospital and Burke would have been no where near the entrance. Not that anything they do medically on this show makes any sense in real life, but they could have at least got that right! I still loved it though and can't wait until tonights episode. They never finished the story. George talked to the parents about how she was an organ donor, and based on what the other employees said about her, she would rather have her organs save many people than have her one baby kept alive. The parents were thinking about it and that's all we know.

I was thinking the same thing. I thought he was gonna say he was the father of her baby.

Yeah Izzy has gone nuts, but I was BALLING!!! Not b/c of her, but b/c of Denny and how he was feeling and reacting to her going nuts. I felt really bad for him. And I hope Burke doesn't die. Poor Christina. She is gonna feel like shit for getting mad (even though I would have too)

And when the shooter came back at the hospital and that guy Neil jumped BEHIND his fiance again...that was so funny. You go girl!

I just checked the abc website and they have it listed as re-airing last nights episode tonight. I missed a few parts and would love to see all of it. They are also showing that the cast will be on Jimmy Kimmel tonight. I doubt I can last that long though.

I wonder how tonight is going to work because of the speech. Will they not start things until after he is done or will they just not play whatever he talks over?? Uggghhhhh why does he have to speak tonight of all nights?!?!

05-15-2006, 03:11 PM
As for Burke, I got the feeling that the helicopter stayed at the hospital with Alex because Burke wanted to make sure the heart didn't get taken until it was time and then it would have to be super fast. Almost like he did take an ambulance from Mercy back to his hospital. I have a feeling the reason he was going along with Izzy's lie (which he obviously figured out while on the phone) was because of the competitive thing he has with the other doc who was 2nd in his class while he was first.

What a great episode!!!! Can't wait to see the end!

So...they're going to start the re-run of last night "in progress," so that tonight's new episode(s) will really start on time? Hmmm...this whole Pres speech thing is messing up my well planned out plans! :p We don't have dual-in cables for our TiVo, so I informed my hubby that I need access to both televisions tonight. 24 will be starting 20 minutes late, so I'll watch that while recording GA, then when 24 is over, I'll start GA (being able to FF all the commercials!). I just sat there with my mouth open. I was shocked. I do like how they portray Callie. She's all super tough and hard one minute and then soft the next. I wish George would grow some balls, and be a man. They'd be more interesting if he'd be as strong as she is. I really don't like how he's expecting Callie to accept the girls, but he doesn't say anything to them. Just a vent.

Ok Im starting to think that second hour is just all commercials. My favorite quotes so far, though:

"Burke's Surgery? I can't-I'm in a time out."
"We did this together, we all stick together-damnit." "Thank you." "Your welcome."
"What I choose is you. You're who I want to wake up with and go to bed with, and do everything in between with." Awwww-& then what the heck did Izzy do?!

Ok anyway...aside from those. I love doctor bailey. The writing and acting on this show is incredible.

I feel like a broken record, but my God, what incredible writing. (And we still have a half hour to go.)

Two reasons why this show deserves next year's Emmy: the opening voiceovers and the interviews with the Chief.

Really, when was the last time you saw something like that?

I didn't see the opening voiceovers but the chief interviews were awesome.

I am new to the show, but I am absolutely hooked. Who is the black female doctor? Who calls Meredith, Cristina, Izzy and George her suck-ups? I LOVE HER.

What did Cristina mean when she asked Burke if he'd told Shephard something?

And if anything important happened during Doc's scene, let me know. It was too much for me to watch.

Ok...so I just finished watching...and re-watching the Mer/McD fight/hotsex scene. I really, really didn't know how they were going to get them back together after all this, and I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED the fight before hand. I wish he'd have broken it off with Addy first, but that had better be the first scene of next season.

This whole episode was incredible. I cried (damn, did I cry with the whole dog thing since we just put ours to sleep a few weeks ago) and cried some more, and then cried again (with a few laughs in between).

I like that Callie was there at the end with all of them, and I loved the way Alex took care of Izzy, and I love that both Alex and George left with her when she left. There really wasn't much about this episode that I didn't LOVE.

Oh...and I REALLY loved Baily. She's such a hard-ass, but she loves her butt-kissers. :)

This show is freakin' outstanding. I haven't cried this much to a tv show since Dr. Greene died on ER...

I hate that Denny died...HATE IT. THAT SUCKS. I really liked him. And poor poor Izzy. I really liked how Alex finally stepped up to plate and acted like a human being for once though. He definately showed some class there.

I screamed at Cristina alll night. Poor Burke just wanted to know she would be there for him...And she freaks out...freezes. I'm glad she finally went to him.

The puppy scene killed me. I bawled like a baby.

The fight with Meredith & Derek was classic....and hot love scenes!!! Love it. But what now? He actually stood there like he expected her to choose him... when he's the one who made the decision all along to be with his wife. I hope he's willing to finally admit to Addison the truth.

Poor Finn though... I really like him...But, I guess we all know Chris O'Donnell isn't going to be a part of the cast long term. So she has to break his heart sometime.

I also loved how Callie was fixing Merediths dress after she walked in on her and McDreamy...I think she's really trying hard to fit in... first with the cancer/dog biz...and now that. I loved it.

I thought Meredith had known all along about the Chief and her mom. Amazing that Adele knew. I'm glad he's busted though...it's nice to see a human/man side to him besides just being Chief.

I can't believe we have to wait all summer for this to come back on. It'll drive me crazy. I can't wait to go back and watch the last two nights again.

does Izzy have history with that hot doctor who said he wasn't Denny anymore once his heart stopped beating? Yes, they had sex for a while, but right now I can't remember why it ended, but I think it had something to do with Denny. I'm so sad for Izzy. I feel so bad for Izzy too and I'm so glad that Alex stepped up and acted like a decent human being. I was starting to wonder about him.

I am so glad that Christina finally went to Burke. He really needs her right now and I was pissed at her for being such a coldhearted beyotch!

can't wait until next season. Sucks that we have to wait so long to see it :(

What a fantastic show!! I cried, laughed and screamed at the tv the whole time. DH had the nerve to call me (he is away on a business trip) during GA. I knew it was him immediately so when I picked up the phone and said "you know better than to call me right now" and hung up the phone. He called back after it was finished.

My heart goes out to Izzy, I felt so bad for her. Thank goodness a scene with Alex not being an ass, I am glad he was there for Izzy.

I can't wait until the fall!!! :)

Wow, what a depressing season finale. Don't get me wrong, I liked it. But it was so draining.
First poor Burke got shot and Christina turned her back on him.
Then poor Doc had to be put down.
Then Denny had to go and die! (which I totally saw coming anyway, but it was still depressing).
My eyes were red and puffy by the end of the episode!

Yes, they had sex for a while, but right now I can't remember why it ended, but I think it had something to do with Denny.

He cheated on her with Olivia right? Then he figured out that Izzy was falling for Denny & was a jerk and said a bunch of crap to Denny. I totally fell in love with Alex tonight. I know he can't replace Denny for Izzy, but he was totally her hero. The whole episode I saw with my mouth open, except for when I was sniffling.

Cristina - I think her 'human-ness' scared her. Like she said in the interview, she was always so cold, and being with Burke & the interns has totally changed her into a warm caring person. I don't think she knew how to deal.

Mer & McDreamy & McVet - I do like McDreamy, but I wanted to throw something at him for doing that to Addison. She has given him so many oppertunities to get out, and yet he refused. I know McVet isn't staying on forever, but still, I would have loved to have seen them in the exam room.

Baily - My fav part from her was when she was ranting about missing her butt kissers. It was so serious till she went after Burke - calling him by his middle name. She's so hard, but yet she wanted to protect them all from what they'd done.

I can't wait till the fall!

I cried a ton too. Of course it started with the dog. That would just kill me.

Not sure if I like McDreamy anymore. I'm thinking he's a selfish pig now.

Sad about Denny... Poor Izzy.

Why does Ellen Pompeo take in a huge breath before every single line? It sorta bugs me. It's as if she does it for inflection but when you do it ALL THE TIME it sorta defeats the purpose. I think she needs a new acting technique.

I was alright at the dog scene, but when Denny died and that scene with Alex, that's when I lost it.

I loved Alex's interview with the Chief, "you may not like the players but you go out there every Sunday and play" (paraphrased of course)! He was such a team player last night.

No comment on Derek and Mer, can't stand either one of them, but these last couple of episodes I was starting to like Mer because she was looking happy and getting her life back together and now she gets deeper in the doodoo.

Hope she chooses McVet.

As much as I think (and sort of hope) she chooses McVet, eventually she will come back to McDreamy. I just really hope they don't keep the two of them apart throughout the entire show like I know has happened on other shows.

This episode cemented what, for me, is the foremost reason this show is amazing: the characters are flawed. They fall in love with the wrong people; they act in ways that shame them; they become what they don't want to become. They're human in ways you just don't see on television. And, unlike so many other shows, they really make you care.

Christina & Burke – I think the reaction Christina had was totally normal. She’s not used to having all these human emotions, and she couldn’t deal. Burke knows her, and I think he understood. I also think that he new that eventually she’d step up to the plate and be there for him.

I am sad though, that he’ll probably never be a surgeon again. That really sucks.

Izzy & Denny (& Alex) – I spent all three hours totally annoyed and mad at Izzy. I understand that she loved Denny and wanted to do anything to save him and get him that heart. But, to cut that wire was nuts. So many things could’ve gone wrong. She could’ve killed him.

I know Denny would die before the show was over, but he didn’t deserve to die alone – no one deserves that. That was the only time that I felt bad for Izzy. Then Alex wanted to go and get all nice and caring. At that moment, he was a really good friend.

George & Callie – I flip flop on rather I like these two or not. Most of the time, I don’t. And, I was totally grossed out by that scene in the hall before prom. It looked so uncomfortable and wrong. But, I did like that Callie helped Meredith out, when she caught her and McDreamy. And I loved the look she gave him.

I also liked that George finally owned up to his part in him and Meredith sleeping together. I liked that he admitted he knew that Meredith didn't love him in that way, and he slept with her anyway.

Meredith & McDreamy & McVet & Addison – I am so sick of this storyline. And, I’m actually kinda pissed that they had sex. Derek is still married to Addison, and Meredith finally found a decent guy. I understand they love each other, but it was totally irresponsible (I know – it’s only TV).

I really feel bad for Addison. She knows her husband loves another woman, yet she feels like she deserves to be treated this way – because she cheated on him – like it’s her punishment. He either needs to divorce her, or be with her.

I hope McSteamy comes back to liven things up a bit.

Bailey – I love her. She’s my favorite character on the show. When she was telling those girls to pick “silver and white because no matter what color you wear, it pops,” I was laughing so hard, because she was so serious.

I like that they show her soft side amidst all her hardness.

Chief (& his wife) – I can’t believe his wife knew all long about his affair with Ellis and never said anything. Good for her for finally telling him. Hopefully, it put it into perspective what a good wife she is.

The ending – I loved the entire show – except for the last two minutes. I hated how they ended it. With all of them looking stupidly at each other and McVet saying, “Meredith” over and over again. Ugh! So annoying.

Absolutely great episode!

Although the whole prom thing was a bit you know:rolleyes:

I hated that Denny died but most of all I hated that he died alone but it was quick pretty much just like that in a matter of seconds.

Alex was great he stepped up and I think deep down inside he loves Izzy.

I absolutely loved the interviews with the Chief that was great acting right there.

George apologizing to Mer was just beautiful. I cried there so much much more than the Dog being put to sleep.

Cristina, I dont know I was so disappointed, I was glad she finally sort of came to her senses.

Callie and George hmm?? I dont know that kiss when they were against the wall, I dont know it was like forced to me. Fake

Mer and Mcdreamy, what can I say I love them together. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THE LOOKS AS THEY WERE DANCING AND THE EYEBROWS WERE DOING ALL THE TALKING and then she excused herself and he told Addy he had to check up on the patient and I was like "YEAH! Follow her" and the fight was just great and the way he was looking at her. He was like "I dont want to think or know my vet is putting his hands on you!" He was so emotional and fighting his feelings, but they were coming out to surfice and then....
I was yelling at the TV "Just grab her already!" and then he did so I screamed and jumped up and down some more then I realized he was doing the same thing Addy did so now he is also a cheater. So now Im bummed.

Funny how he kept asking Mer "What does this mean?" and she just kept asking for her panties. Did she find them finally? or are they still in the exam room??

I say she walks away from both of them and catches up with Izzy and the rest of them.

And I loved that Alex and George followed Izzy silently and went with her. It was so touching.

My husband and I kept yelling "Meredith", "Dempsey", "Robin" trying to guess which face they'd go to next. Lame.

Yes! McDreamy has been annoying me for a while now. I can't believe they hooked up last night. I was so dissapointed with Mer.
And oh.my.gosh she has an acting tick that drives me nuts...I wish the directors would give her a note on it. Stop deep breathing every sentence!!

Seriously, Alex picking up Izzy and holding her like a baby was the most romantic thing ever. I usually hate Alex, but at that moment I decided I love him. He just picked her up like she was a hurt little girl who had fallen off her bike. SO CUTE!!!

And though I stand somewhat alone on this...I really want Mer and McDreamy to get back together. They just fit.

What the heck was up w/ Christina....I meant I get that he is her superman and its hard to see your hero like that, but come on??? If she wouldn't have come through at the end I would have hated her forever.

Callie and George do not go together~ They are uncomfortable to watch b/c they are just so not right..

This is the whole Rachel and Ross, "We were on a break" debate. Technically, he was still married to Addision but had left her because she was cheating on him. I don't think he had any intention of trying to reconcile with her until she came to Seattle Grace. So in that aspect, he wasn't cheating.

I watched them all together last night...gotta love TiVO!

Didn't I tell y'all we were in one helluva sex scene? ;) I kept yelling at the TV "Kiss her! Kiss her!" I didn't expect sex actually but it was nice. Made me miss my hubby! ;)

I don't like George's hair or George with Callie. She gets on my nerves. A lot. Even them kissing looks awkward.

Izzy is about 50 kinds of stupid but the scenes with her worked for me. I wonder how they're going to work her character in next year with her not being in the intern program?

I think McDreamy needs to go ahead and dump Addison so he and Mer can be together. At first I thought this show was going to be all about the sexual tension between the two of them like "Lois and Clark" years ago and if the writers got them together it'd ruin the show. Now, I think that the writers, Shonda Rimes in particular (she wrote last night's show which is why it was so fabulous), have developed all of the characters to the point to where getting Mer and McD together isn't going to change how great the show is.

CAN.NOT.WAIT. for next season!!!!!

Last night I tried to wait until 11:00 to watch the whole thing (after '24' got over at 10:20) but I couldn't and the scene I turned the tv on was them putting Doc to sleep - talking about bawling right off the bat. The show did make a lot more sense after I went back and watched the whole thing

George/Callie- I don't think they belong together either. And will he get rid of the dork haircut?! Short hair good/ parted gel-cap bad.

Christina/Burke - I was really pissed at the way she was acting for a while. But at the end she redeemed herself. Can I say that Burke has one fine looking chest! Yummy. It killed me to see him like that and to see Christina acting that way.

Meredith/McDreamy - Sex scene definitely hot. I don't think she will pick him though after the conversation she had with the Chief, because she could give up McVet and McDreamy might not leave Addison, so I am not sure if she is willing to risk that.

Denny/Izzy/Alex- I did like how Alex took care of her at the end, but I still don't like him. I hated seeing Denny die, but I didn't cry about it. I didn't like most of the scenes involving all the interns, etc. Izzy is just being completely unprofessional about the whole thing. I feel so bad for the family of the guy who should have gotten the heart, that he had 2 kids (pregnancy hormones talking). So Izzy is still going to be around next year, just not in the surgical program? Will she get punished? How can they risk her being around patients again and not fall in love with another one - unless they put her on the OB/GYN track with Addision.

Bailey- I can not get enough of her. She is awesome. She is the person I am most looking forward to seeing again in the fall.

The scenes with the Chief were my favorite of the whole evening. They were so telling.

I was slightly disappointed at the end because I was expecting/hoping for a cliff hanger like last season. While I will miss the show I am not dieing like last season because we had the steamy sex scene to tie us over. And its not like Meredith looking at McVet and McDreamy and "deciding" was like the cliffhanger season finale of Friends when you didn't know if Ross went into Rachel or bald-headed chick's room, or at the end of Felicity Season I if she picked Ben or Noel - in both those cases you knew they had made a decision and you were dieing to know all summer what decision they made.

NEW YORK - ABC is moving its hottest show, "Grey's Anatomy," to Thursdays in the fall as part of an aggressive schedule that will bring at least 15 new series to the air next season.

Moving the medical soap "Grey's Anatomy" to 9 p.m. Thursdays sets up a battle with one of TV's most popular shows, "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" on CBS, and NBC's most-touted new series, "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip."

Aww man, that sucks. I have night school on Thursdays so I'll have to tape yet ANOTHER show... :(

So Izzy isn't leaving the series? I thought her quitting as a surgeon meant that she was leaving the show. I hope she doesn't leave. I like her, even though I wanted to kill her last night!

I really don't like Derek or Meredith. If they wanna be together, just get it over with and be together. This whole "longing for each other from afar" thing is getting old. Derek is an ass for dragging Addison along, even though he obviously doesn't want to be with her anymore. She gave him plenty of opportunities for him to get out if he wanted to, but he didn't. So he's giving her false hope. He doesn't love her anymore. Just admit it and break up already!
Meredith knowingly slept with a married man so she lost a lot of points in my book. I don't care if his relationship is rocky, you just don't do that... period. And poor McVet. He's being so incredible to her, and she totally tosses him aside. She doesn't deserve him.
I didn't even find the sex scene hot. I was too disgusted by what they were doing. I'm hoping Callie will blab about what she saw, although I doubt she will if she's trying to get in good with George.

I have to admit, I was glad to see Denny die. Don't get me wrong, he was a nice guy, but I think it serves Izzy right. I just can't stand her, especially after everything she did to steal the heart from a deserving person. My DH and I were totally rooting for Denny to die so that Izzy would be miserable. We also would have been satisfied if he had lived and dumped Izzy. I guess we're kind of mean.

I love Cristina and Burke together, and I was so glad when she went to him at the end. That made me cry more than anything, and so did the Chief's niece talking to him about how she had been loved.

Meredith and Derek - blah. I hated the ending where she's standing there staring from one hot guy to the other, like "my life is so terrible, which hot guy do I choose?" She is so whiny and annoying. I really like Addison - I know she cheated on Derek, but she is really making an effort in their relationship, and I don't think he is. If he can't forgive her, fine, but then let her go. Don't trail her along.

Dr. Bailey is definitely my favorite character. But I didn't like when Izzy quit and Bailey was like, "Izzy..." in a tone of come on, don't be like that. I think that after everything Izzy did, she should totally be fired. I know this show isn't the most realistic portrayal of a surgical intern program, but come on. That should just be a given.

I LOVED the look Callie gave Derek when she walked in on him and Meredith. Like "You are the scum of the earth." That was awesome.

LMAO. ok, so I only started watching in January (got sucked in by all the commercials during the Super Bowl) but I am SO hooked!

I don't like McDreamy and Mer together. Mainly b/c he needs to tie up those loose ends w/ Addison if he wants to be w/ Mer. I would personally like to see Addison and McDreamy really try to work it out though before calling it quits. And I think I would just like Mer to move on to someone else. McDreamy just doesn't deserve to have his cake and eat it too.

I LOVED all the interviews Chief did w/ the interns. He didn't get the confession he was looking for but I think he did get something out of it he wasn't expecting (if that makes sense).

I also loved that all the interns came together and stuck w/ Izzy (even though she was SO in the wrong). It just reiterates the whole family thing George was trying to get across to Callie.

I think moving GA to Thursday nights says a lot about ABC's lack of confidence in Desperate Housewives (which I used to love but now hate because it's gotten so weird).

Yeah- But they showed him taking her panties off over her stalkings... All those tv drama whores wear thogh highs.

I was also wondering why they didn't even touch base back with the story about the girl and the baby. There were a couple of different possibilities there.

ER is on at 10pm, not 9pm so it's not a direct competition.

I think she's in the central time zone, where 10pm shows everywhere else are on at 9pm. I *think* you're still talking about the same time slot.

Mer did have stockings on, so I that would provide some coverage
I can't even belive I'm discussing this :D If Mer had stockings on they'd have come off before the panties, and if she had thigh highs like a pp said, well ewwe!

I like Callie, but not with George, but with someone like Alex who doesn't take any crap, but I want Izzy with Alex. I love Alex now :)

I really love the expression and feeling in Cristina's eyes. Great acting, I could really feel her pain and confusion.

I was watching a rerun of Friends the other night (maybe last night, can't remember) and Mer was on it. She played a character who both Chandler and Ross had been attracted to in high school (or was it college?). Anyways, they made a pact back then that neither would go after her. So, she's standing talking to Ross at some sort of reunion and he's telling her how they were both attracted to her. Then she tells him that her and Chandler used to have make out sessions in the science lab. Of course, Ross is them upset because not only did he break the pact, but he did it in his territory.

All that to say that Mer (I'm sorry I don't know her name IRL) was a bit heavier then. Not in a bad way, but you could definitely see a weight loss in her face.

Ahhh, didn't catch that her underwear came off first-and I, too can't believe I'm discussing this. :p

re: the organ donar thing. DH works in a hospital and he has had to keep the organ donars allive until they are matched up to the recipients and has witnessed them be "harvested;" he said he just doesn't like thinking about that being him, even if he will be dead. LOL He said if I want to, though, then it is (probably) ok with him, and that he would let them go ahead and do it if someone needed something out of me. ;) Nothing terrible goes on, but he just hasn't enjoyed his experience with it. :p

That's really interesting, because in an interview in either self or shape that I read Ellen Pompeo was saying how she's ALWAYS had to eat like a 3000 cal diet to keep any weight on. Maybe she wasn't working out then...or something. haha She was also in Old School, according to IMDB. Anyone catch her in that?

I love this show and I hate, hate, hate it that it's moving.
Cried thru 2 hours of pain
I love Izzy - crazy in love - so to speak.
Alex - didn't picture him the "hero" type
I like Callie - I also like she is larger too
I adore George - regardless of his hair
Cristina - pissed me off - how can anyone be that alienated from their emotions
Burke - I like the confidence & the body is hot too
Bailey - what I aspire to be
Chief & Adele - love, love them. The Chief is appealing
Addison - don't understand her but she's likeable.
Mer & Derek - s1uts !! (and that isn't a good thing)
Vet - can see why he was prom king

But thursday nights! leave a good thing alone. I'm tired of tv execs thinking we (the viewers) are sheep and will follow them anywhere. arrogant. Worst - showing reruns during regular season. arg!

I think a major goal of this episode was to show that Christina really isn't alienated from her emotions. I mean, the breakdown with the Cheif cemented with me that she only tries to be cut off emotionally, and she really isn't that way, but because she has hammered that into her persona for so long and she is such an extreme type A-er, she has trouble expressing how she feels toward Burke. I really liked her last night, and I'm glad that she went back to him in the end.

The one part I didn't like was when Denny/Danny was all....it's my choice now, I have a choice, I choose you, that's my choice. Didn't we get that whole scene practically when Mer confronted Dreamy oh so many episodes ago? It wasn't so good the second time around.

I agree with the poster who said that the show is so good because the characters are flawed. They all are deeply flawed in some way. Neurotic and they make bad choices. And I love it. They are human.

The finale was SO INTENSE! I cried when Denny died but worse when they put the dog to sleep. I was bawling.

I guess I'm in the minority that I love Callie and I love her and George together. I like that she's so quirky and wierd and seems so tough yet she's so neurotic. And I like that she has a little meat on her bones. And I love George's hair, I think he just keeps getting cuter, and I love that he admitted his own fault in the whole Meredith mess.

Izzy--going off the deep end--great acting. I'm such a gullible dope I really did not believe that Denny would die.

Meredith & McDreamy, yeah that was hot, but I was yelling NO! NO! I did not want him to cheat. I like Addison but really they both just have to move on. I wish that Meredith would have picked McVet but she would just have been settling. I don't really think she'll go with him in the new season.

PISSED that it's going to be on against Office & Earl, my other faves. And we don't have a TIVO. I don't think we can tape another channel while we watch one either because we only have cable on one TV.

But, Grey's Anatomy, I choose you!

Shonda Rimes is a goddess. GA is incredibly well-written. I'm continually blown away by the emotion the show evokes. About last night...

Izzy was so wrong but I love that she risked her career for love. Denny was prepared to die anyway so he didn't have much to lose. I thought they were going to use the pregnant girl's heart since it was a match. I wish he would not have died.

Alex. I still don't like him but I appreciate his actions last night. First, he stuck with the team. I was surprised. Then, he comforts Izzy. I have to admit that he has potential.

Meredith. I can't stand her. I'm so tired of her inability to think before having sex. Ugh! I think she and Derek deserve each other. I also don't think it's fair that she has a shot at happiness and Izzy's shot is ruined.

Allison. She was wrong and I abhor cheaters. Yet, I still feel for her. I want her to be happy. And I want to know why she left Mark. What was wrong there?

Derek. Stop brooding already. Give Allison the closure she needs and have your precious Meredith.

Christina. She showed a lot of growth last night. I found myself thinking that Burke would like to have an Izzy at that moment. I'm glad she came around at the end.

Burke. I think there's hope and I'll continue to cling to it. I love the character he displays and I would hate for him to lose his passion.

George. He seems more comfortable in his skin. I like the new George. I think I also like him and Callie together. She really put forth effort when dealing with Meredith. I think I like her, too.

Bailey is just incredible. She is the glue. She has softened since motherhood. I enjoy her character tremendously

If anything I would say that it will have more competition on Thursday. CSI and Survivor have HUGE audiences. Whereas Big Love is on pay cable and not everyone has that.

I was bawling last night at the end when Denny died. I wasn't sure if they were going to do that to the character or not (but did figure that he had to get back to Supernatural :p ), so I wasn't too surprised...but man was that sad. :(

I hated Alex for saying what he did about Denny, but thought it was so great of him to tell Izzy how great she looked, and then what he did and said in Denny's room. Just awesome.

WOW, Mer and McDreamy!!! That was a great sex scene (although it was hard for me to get that involved with it since it was overshadowed by Denny dieing), and I loved the look Callie gave Derek when she walked in on them. However, I do feel really badly for McVet. I know that Mer hasn't known him that long, but his whole "I have a plan" speech was so great that it kind of broke my heart to see the puzzlement on his face when he was looking from Mer to McDreamy...he's just got to know something's up. And since I'm now really liking Addison, I feel awful for her too, especially because she had just asked Mer if she was sleeping with Derek.

Baily rocks! :D

I was getting so MAD at Cristina! I kept yelling at her to go to Burke, so of course the tears came again when she rushed into his room at the end.

The speeches in the Chief's office were great, and I loved the look of confusion on his face when the interns started talking about their lives rather than the situation at hand.

George and Callie? Not really liking them together. It's so uncomfortable, and I don't like how "into him" she is either. For some reason I just find her a little creepy. I did love though how George finally admitted his part in sleeping with Mer and apologized to her. He's awesome.

This sucks that we have to wait until September for the new season...I can't wait that long! Although I haven't seen Seaons 1 & 2, so I'll be catching up with them through Netflix. :)

Little late, but I finally watched it last night.

Holy crap...

It seems like only a handfull of us want Mere and Derek together! I loved the show in the beginning before we even knew about Addison. When she came on the show I was so pissed that he was married! I like Addison's character now, but I think that she needs to not be with Derek. She really hurt him. And when she came to Seattle, he tried to do the honorable thing by trying to work things out with his wife. He just couldn't do it. The scars are too deep. He found Mere and fell in love with her. He is prob so pissed at himself that he didn't send Addison back to NYC when she just showed up unannounced. Yeah we all feel bad for McVet b/c he has "plans" now, but I just don't see them together.

Yeah George and Callie - just don't get it. The whole "I hate how much I'm into you...." *slobbery kiss* ugh barf. Now I'm glad that he found someone and all, but she is too overpowering for George. I am VERY glad that he apologized. He did know that she was still hung up over McDreamy and he slept with her anyway. He willingly became her rebound lay. It was his fault (not all but mostly)

Poor Izzy, she deserved to be hurt b/c she practically killed Denny (HE didn't deserve to die). The only thing I liked about their storyline was how happy she made him.

LOVED the prom thing! That was so sweet of the Chief. And when he was dancing with his niece....AWWW!!! :D

The dog dying...I could NOT stop crying!!

Definatly the best scene was the interviews with the chief.

Last thing....I am so mad at Christina!!! If she loves him, she wouldn't have freaked out like that and wouldn't have froze during the surgery. She knew how important his surgery was. And he was flailing around like a fish out of water and she just turned her head!!! She needs a bitch slap.

JESSIE, okay, that was hilarious! Thanks for posting that link! I was seriously LOL in my hotel room (traveling for work).

I loved monday's epi (and of course Sundays).

Everyone has touched on everything already...i love the mer/der sex scene- i thought it was pretty hot when he grabbed her hair like that.
George/Callie- i like her, i think she's a decent fit with the 'family' but not a huge fan of the 2 of them together.

One thing not many people have touched on is when they were doing the narrating and they showed Chief playing with his wedding band...since adele (is that her name) isn't really a regular on the show...i'm wondering how all that is going to unfold. The narration was talking about being loved- something like that (i can't concentrate on watching it and listening to the narration at the same time- lol). Any thoughts on that?

The deleted scene- someone else asked this too...did anyone get to see it?

That video had me cracking up...too funny!

I saw the deleted/special scene on Good Morning America and it was Mer and McVet talking about Doc. He was telling her that she really needs to think about putting Doc down that it's inhumane to let him live in so much pain. She counters with the fact that it's not only her dog that Derek has to help make that decision. Then McVet starts to question her involvement and feelings for Derek and she evades the questions, gives crappy answers like, "We share a dog, that's it, that's all that's between us" and then gets paged and has to leave before McVet can push it. Didn't add much except that McVet suspects feelings between Mer and Der.

Actually it wasn’t a match. George was just talking about how they could use her organs to save others, but not Denny.
ok, i am studying for finals, so i missed the final episode. why is izzy no longer in the intern program?
Izzy cut Denny’s wire to the machine going to his heart so that she could make his condition worse in order for him to get the his transplant. All of the interns ended up getting involved in this mess and Bailey caught them. They were then all brought into the Chief’s office together, and then one at a time, so that he could get a confession out them, but they stuck together and each one said that they had done it. However, when Denny died, Izzy confessed to doing it, and after all that she had gone through she realized that she could no longer be a surgeon and was therefore quitting the program. It ended with her walking down the stairs in her prom gown with Alex and George behind her (they didn’t quit with her though).

At ABC's upfronts this week Izzy was not there. The entire cast was there, but not Izzy. Man, if she leaves the show there are going to have to bring in another hottie - not another Callie. Izzy is one of the only reasons why most men I know watch this show.

Anyway...I think they moved it because they think they can compete on Thursday nights and they want to launch another show after Desperate because that worked so well for Grey's. I do hate ABC for doing that, though. And someone asked about ER - next eyar is it's last and then ER is done forever.

Ahh - I would if ours (DVR) hadn't erased Sunday night's episode somehow! Don't know what happened but just finally got to watch Monday night's episode last night - HOLY COW!

Loved the Mer/McDreamy fight - wanted them to kiss - wasn't expecting the sex - that might have been a bit too much.

The whole show was amazing - I felt like I didn't even breathe for the last half-hour. Unbelieveable - the show deserves an Emmy for sure.

Question - there were a lot of posts about Addison on Sunday night - and Addison asking Mer if she was sleeping with Derek? Can anyone fill me in - would have liked to have seen those scenes.

I really like Addison and would like her to stick around - but I'm also curious what happens with the Mer/McDreamy storyline. like everyone else said - I hope them getting together doesn't end the drama.

DH just got into this show with the recap show - I'm so glad I got him into hit - I was holding on to him during the whole show (last night) - the two of us were sitting there crying, mouths open, unbelievable - what a show!

I hope she picks the Vet and he turns her down. She doesn't deserve him after that, although I would't mind Chris O'Donnell sticking around a little longer. I didn't find Meredith's & McDreamy's sex scene hot, like I thought it would be. It disgusted me. It was wrong and just plain disgusting. I love that Callie, who Mere has been treating poorly, walked in. Her look to Shepard was priceless. I really feel sorry for Addison. It's obvious that Derek doesn't want to make the marriage work but I hope she sticks around.

Christina bugged me so much during the episode. Same with Izzy but for different reasons. It was sad when Denny died but I think it was the right ending. Thank you for making Alex human for a moment.

The interviews with the Chief were hilarious, especially George's.

I hate waiting for the next season. I also hate how they are setting it up so it's a triangle and Meredith gets to chooses between Mcdreamy & McVet when Finn should run the other way and Addison doesn't even get a choice. She gets McDreamy if Meredith doesn't want him. I loved everything but this.

I didn't find Meredith's & McDreamy's sex scene hot, like I thought it would be. It disgusted me. It was wrong and just plain disgusting.

While it didn't necessarily disgust me, it was borderline. I really wanted to be excited, but at the same time, I wanted it to be after he ends things with Addison. Oh well! We'll see what happens next season! :)

If you guys haven't read the Grey's Writers' Blog www.greyswriters.com, you must.

Here is what creator Shonda Rimes wrote about the finale:

If you haven't seen the last episode yet, DO NOT READ.

******
<SEASON 2 FINALE THOUGHTS> So Denny Duquette died at 7:42 Monday evening.

Actually, he died once on the East coast and once again on the West coast and I’m pretty sure he’s going to die many more times on many more continents pretty damned soon.

I cried. When Denny died, I cried. I cried when I wrote the script page where Denny dies. I cried when we had the read through and the cast found out that Denny dies. I cried when Mark Tinker filmed Denny dying. I cried when Ed Ornelas edited Denny’s death. I cried watching them mix the song playing during Denny’s death. I’m a freaking crybaby when it comes to Denny.

I choose to blame editor Ed Ornelas for Denny’s death. Like I had nothing to do with it. Like I was an innocent bystander in the whole thing. Like it wasn’t me wrote it. I’d sit behind him in the editing room and sob into a tissue while saying kindly, supportive things to the back of Ed’s head. Things like “Denny Murderer! Dog Killer!!! DENNY-MURDERING-DOG-KILLER!!!”

I didn’t kill Denny. Ed did.

Right.

Look, I honestly have nothing to say for myself. No words in my own defense. Except I told you guys that the characters have to do what the characters have to do. I mean, I love Denny. Really love him. He was my “you jump, I jump” guy. He was my imaginary future husband. He was the guy I was dating in my head. HE WAS ALL I HAD. And now he’s dead. God, I feel so Izzie in this moment.

But the point is, Denny was always going to die. His character was created to die. I knew it. Jeffrey Dean Morgan knew it. And as much as I wanted Denny NOT to die when the time came, as much Jeffrey Dean Morgan wanted to NOT die when the time came, as much as Channing Dungey (our super cool studio executive ) begged me to not to hurt her Denny…

…it was his time. He had a stroke. He died. I had nothing to do with it. It was his time.

People die. Suddenly. Without warning. When you least expect it. People die. And it’s horrible and painful and utterly shocking but…it happens. And I wanted to present that on the show.

The good thing is – and you’re all yelling “GOOD THING? GOOD THING?!!!” – but, yes, there is a good thing in all of this. And that good thing is what Camille says to Richard. “I’ve been loved. I’ve been loved. That’s something everyone should feel once in their life.” Denny has been loved. And he dies knowing he was loved. And knowing that he loved back.

I named this episode “Losing My Religion” because, to me, that is what happens to each intern in this episode. Each intern lets go of the things they’ve held onto all season. George lets go of loving Meredith. Cristina lets go of her well-checked emotions. Izzie is forced to let go of her idealism. And that leads to her letting go of medicine. Alex lets go of his rage against Izzie. And Meredith…well, Meredith just lets go.

I don’t want to talk too much about the Mer/Der of it all because we are clearly hanging on a cliff here and anything I say may tell you what’s on the other side. And you know I hate spoilers. But I do feel like we’ve tried to make their relationship complex. Derek’s flawed and sometime you hate him. Meredith’s flawed and sometimes you hate her. And you can’t help but root for Addison to be happy. And you like Finn cause he births ponies and he has plans. And clearly poor Doc was a metaphor for the Mer/Der relationship and when Doc’s put down, it feels like a horrible, painful but necessary ending. But still…when Derek grabs Meredith and kisses her…it’s such a relief. You want them to figure this thing out.

I do want to talk about the costumes (done beautifully by Mimi the costume goddess). Everyone dresses up for the prom. But then we lose Denny. And here’s something you maybe don’t notice until all our interns are gathered in the room with Izzie who lies on the bed with Denny’s body: the prom clothes are actually mourning clothes. Funeral clothes. Suddenly, you see that Meredith and George and Cristina and Callie and Alex are all dressed, not for a prom, but for a funeral. Everyone in dark colors, everyone dressed somberly. As if they were in mourning. Only Izzie is in happy pink. Only Izzie looks like she didn’t know this was coming. In the last scene, Mark Tinker shot this gorgeous shot of Izzie walking down the stairs, Alex and George behind her. I love that shot. Izzie has this fallen queen thing going on that I just adore.

Speaking of the prom…dudes, I so wanted this prom. I’ve wanted this prom since the beginning of the season. We’d been planning for it and obsessing about it. Because, first of all, I like seeing men in suits. Second, these interns and their lives remind me so much of high school in all the best ways. I hope you’ve noticed that. I hope you got the Breakfast Club of it all when they give their speeches to the Chief. Cause I’m an 80’s girl and I needed my prom.

Burktina: this episode is one of my favorites for both Burke and Cristina. If you look at where they began at the beginning of Season Two and how far they’ve come…. You just hate Cristina. You hate her when she walks away from Burke after seeing that he know has a hand tremor. And then you see her give that speech to the Chief (which by the way, Sandra Oh did brilliantly and perfectly EVERY SINGLE TAKE) and you see the struggle. Her struggle to suppress all of her humanity in pursuit of perfection. And in my mind, what we realize is that she is not cold. She is terrified. Scared that if she lets her emotions out, they will overtake her and she will be hurt. And you can’t hate her. Because it’s so incredibly human and understandable. There’s that moment when Burke tells Cristina that he won’t bear a grudge and it’s so sad because he means it. He doesn’t believe she has it in her to stay by his side. And then Denny dies and Cristina watches Izzie grieving and realizes that she has no other option but to go to Burke and cover his hand with her own. Because you can lose someone if you’re not careful.

There’s more to say but I know y’all are itching for me to post this blog. So I’ll do another one later in the week. Because we still have to talk about the Chief and about Burke’s tremors and George and Callie’s thing and so much more…

One last thing: Thank you so much for watching the show. I’ve been in New York for the network upfronts and it’s been amazing to hear from fans how much they enjoy the show. It means a lot to me and all of us who work on Grey’s. You may have heard we are moving to Thursday night. I’m thrilled because Thursday is a big day for TV and I love a challenge and I’ve got my fingers and toes crossed that you’ll follow us to our new night.

This just in from Perez Hilton (http://www.perezhilton.com/index.php?page=2):

All is not well on the set ABC's hit drama Grey's Anatomy.

Sources close to the production tell PerezHilton.com exclusively that the actors are livid with creator and showrunner Shonda Rhimes.

Despite the fact that the network gave all of the stars substantial bonuses after the show's extremely successful season last year, sources tell us that Rhimes has become unbearable to work with.

"She thinks she reinvented television," says one tipster.

But, even more than her diva behavior, Shonda is really pissing off the actors by cockblocking them and preventing outside work while they are shooting this season's shows.

"Ellen Pompeo is definitely the star of the show and works ridiculously long hours, but all of the other cast members don't work anywhere near as hard as that," says one source. "Some work only one or two days a week, three max during a busy week."

Usually, a show will work around an actor's schedule if they are not that busy during production, but not in this case.

" Sandra Oh is livid that Rhimes isn't letting her work on any outside projects and just had to turn down a role she got, and many of the other actors are furious and have experienced the same," says a source.

We guess a lot of folks won't be renewing their contracts when they're up!

Gosh I hope the core cast isn't leaving soon. This is just too sad!
