Snowflake/winter wedding theme?

Looking for ANY winter wedding theme ideas... FH and I are using a Royal Blue and Silver theme with Snowflakes. Can anyone help?

Hey There!

Those are my colors as well...even though our wedding is going to be in July! Anyway- I thought I'd post some neat pictures of some nice royal blue and silver wedding stuff for you! Yep! That our BM dress...and they are stunning on all my girls...and they are all sizes! It's $150 and the color is "blue velvet". Like I said they got the little FG dress sashes in that color as well...and it's adorable! I t has a pretty broach on the side that incorporates the silver and the colors work great together.

Just so you know- your maids will get a 15% discount if you purchase your dress at Davids. I worked there for awhile- and they gotton some beautiful new styles/colors in both bridal and bridal party. I you havn't already looked...go back in and look again. You may really like some of the new blue shades!

I know there was a HUGE thread on snowflake wedding on WC. It was called something like "Let it Snow". That thread was a lifesaver when I was planning my wedding :) Can't help you too much though since I did deep red for my colors. I like the pew decorations. What are you having as your table centerpieces? A similar concept maybe? (but smaller of course)

Our wedding was in december 2001. My dress was white, with silver beading for the applique. My girls wore navy blue dresses, with gray/silver design on the top, little flowers & vines, hard to explain, but it was pretty.
Their flowers were mostly blue & purple-like blue bells & purple flox, with a little red, & eucalyptis (sp?) painted silver. Mine was more red, white, with a little blue & purple.
I did red tableclothes though, for a little more color, put candles on the tables with candy canes. Our cake was white, with holly leaves & berries on it, in frosting of course, & we used a snowman couple as the cake topper.
I made ceramic Christmas ornaments as favors. Everyone still loves them.

So by a crazy turn of events, we may actually be changing our plans and have a winter wedding as well. Luckily, we have the same colors, but unluckily, we'd be in FREEZING Wisconsin weather. I'm not too happy about waiting ANOTHER 6 months to get married, but since all our parents wont stop complaining, it looks as if I have no say in the matter....so in that case, I guess keep posting ideas..I'm starting over from scratch!!! :(

Here's another idea I just came up with.

I just found a website with these great silver snowflake charms. So what I am going to do is give each BM a differant snowflake charm since no two snowflakes are alike. They'll each have something a little different to wear at the wedding. Here are some jewelry ideas:

I'm really in love with the winter wedding idea. I was worried at first, but this is going to be great! Here's a few more ideas that we have as of right now:

* Our flower girls will be called "Snow Angels" instead...they really are our little angels
* Our bar will serve nice warm drinks like hot cider and hot chocolate
* Our favors (pesonalized ornaments) will be hanging on decorated Christmas Trees at the reception
* Flowers will be white pointcettas with silver glitter sprayed on 'em...a nice winter classic, and it looks like there's snow falling on them.

Hi ladies. I had a Christmas wedding (Dec 21, 2002) and just wanted to point out that anyone getting married this January or next winter can really stock up on stuff at after Christmas sales (or before). Places like Hobby Lobby always run sales before Christmas. We got a lot of ornaments (for favors and decorations), a few small Christmas trees for decor, and lots of white christmas lights for our wedding after Christmas 2001. Of course, we did most of the wedding work ourselves. Good luck to everyone.

Also, Target has for the past several years carried a snowflake ornament with silver glitter. I think they're normally 2/$1.00 but I always get them half price after Christmas because I use them on my Christmas tree at home (the cats try to eat a few every year so I have to replace :rolleyes: )

My wedding was right before Christmas, so technically a winter wedding. For favors, we bought white porcelain snowflake ornaments (99 cents each at Hobby Lobby), then tied red ribbon with our names/wedding date printed on them to the top of the ornament. Had one at each place setting for the guests. They were a huge hit. The printed ribbon was ordered online, and they had tons of ribbon color/ink colors to choose from.

For a small wedding it would be easy to stamp snowflakes on the tablecloth for an extra effect. I did this for a party recently and it looked great. It also came off in the wash so worries about ruining the linen.

I just went to a Winter Wonderland themed wedding in Wisconsin over the weekend.

I didn't get pics of the program (darn it!) but to follow are some of the shots I did get. And Gio threw out the invite, darn it! But it was really pretty too.

The bridesmaids also had snowflake brooches on their waistbands, and that was really a nice touch!
