Anyone else excited for the 2nd season? :)
WHEN PUSH COMES TO SHOVE, Part 2 - Season Premiere
10pm 2005-09-19 ALL NEW!
ARLISS HOWARD REPRISES HIS ROLE AS CAPT. PUSH IN DRAMATIC CONCLUSION OF SEASON FINALE CLIFFHANGER -- While Capt. Push (guest star Arliss Howard) lingers between life and death, Allison (Emmy nominee Patricia Arquette) struggles to decipher confusing messages from the other side in an attempt to stop a serial killer before he claims his next victim. Jake Weber, Miguel Sandoval, David Cubitt, Sofia Vassilieva and Maria Lark also star.
They showed last season's finale this past Monday, so I'm really looking forward to this. I just love Allison's character, and I think her hubby is adorable. ;)

Also a big Medium fan (never thought that would happen!).....but I too like how they portray the couple as very loving and playful, and yes, realistic. Hubby gets down because wifie is out working long hours and he is stuck taking care of the kids and house sometimes, and wifey is feeling all kinds of guilt over not being there for her family as much.
Throw in the paranormal schtuff and the fact that it is based on a real person/persons just adds to it!
I am also looking forward to knowing if Push makes it through this act of stupidity or not!

Count me in. One of my fav shows. Although I do like the realistic-ness (not sure a word) of her home life, I would love to see her hook up with that detective. He's a hottie. I read somewhere (EW) that he's becoming a regular.

Well, that answers the question about how his "snipping-wires" act went!
I agree that he is a hottie, but I really like the relationship that she has with her husband.
As for the Emmy win, I was surprised about it.....she had some stiff competition that I would have given it to before PA. But big congrats! Maybe it will help bring in some more viewers, and keep the show rolling right along ;)

Really enjoyed the premiere, how about everyone else?
One thing I didn't get, was the psychiatrist's reference to the husband being a homoesexual. I definitely didn't see that coming, nor do I think he is one.

Did anyone watch last night? It's only the third episode I've seen - but where did her baby come from! Did she always have three kids?
I like this shower, but feel like they pull too much together in literally the last five minutes. They could speed up the other aspects of her life to focus more on the crime solving.
She's always had three kids. The baby wasn't really shown in the first season because she was always eating or sleeping.
One thing I didn't get, was the psychiatrist's reference to the husband being a homoesexual. I definitely didn't see that coming, nor do I think he is one.
The psychiatrist was being snarky back to his patient who was being snarky. The husband basically said "Am I passive aggressive? Paranoid schitzophrenic?" etc. to which the psychiatrist gave him a condition which was a common "ailment" in old-time psychiatry.

The only thing I could figure about that, was that both Alison and Bridget were having strong "warning" dreams to keep them from flying, but only because driving would put her where Isabel was.
I guess it's all in the interpretation....

Ok...so I am normally really good at picking things up in movies and tv shows. But what was going on at the end with the "waiter" being a non-gross version of the ghost she was seeing as a teenager. Was he still a ghost and just in better shape...or was he real and some weird paranormal thing was bringing him into the past? My assumption is that he was still the ghost but in better shape...maybe representing closure and a solution??

Oh I LOVE this show! So glad there are others here who like it as well!
Yeah, last night's episode was great! I was a bit confused as well about the guy in the end. I had no idea what was going on. Maybe he'll become a re-curring person in Allison's life?
Last nights episode re-cap: Allison is called in to help find a politician's daughter who has disappered. Allison starts dreaming about a high school friend who is declared dead and doesn't understand how the two connect- or why her friend had not visited her yet. In the end, Allison finds her friend, very much alive, but in hiding. Her friend had made some mistakes and was accidentially declared dead when her husband's car with all her belongings was thrown off a bridge during an earthquake. She wanted a chance to start all over and bought a new idenity from a guy named "Sunny". She finds connections in what her friend tells her to the disappearance of the girl she was asked to help find. She eventually finds this girl, who has also bought a new identity after years of sexual adbuse from her father. Allison lets the girl go, knowing she couldn't let her go to jail for fraud when her father was the real criminal.
Sorry, that's a really crappy re-cap for ya there, but I tried! :)

Soulmate - I also had NO idea what was up with the waiter at the end. You're probably right in that the significance had to do with his cleaner appearance representing some kind of closure with the situation. Other than that, I have no clue!

I borrowed my son's glasses from his Sharkboy & LavaGirl DVD. Kinda cool I thought. Loved the baby switch story line, they do a great job on this show. I love the work / home life balance they portray.
But I must have dozed off because did they ever find out where/who all that blood in the bathroom came from.

I feel like I missed a lot and I don't remember doing anything else while the show was on.
EMsMom
11-23-2005, 08:26 AM
Yeah, I was confused about that, too... I know that the blood belonged to a Gloria Soto, who was the housekeeper's (I think her name was Inez?) daughter. Apparently she lived in Mexico and Inez was sending money back for her.
Now what I don't get is why, if he did, the father killed her? And if he didn't... Who did? I understand that her murder lead the story to the father... But am confused about the ties, otherwise.
I have eye issues, so I wasn't able to see the 3D. It bummed me out.
kadee_29
11-23-2005, 08:40 AM
Ok, so they really didn't say what happened with Gloria then?? I really hate it when they don't finish up a story line like that. I think they should make a little section on a website saying the rest of the story or something. That would be nice.

DH doesn't watch my two shows with me. ER and Medium. So I watch by myself.
What eye problems do you have, that you can't see 3D?
I agree that there seems to have been a gap in the story line. I was talking it over with my mom, yesterday, and she seems to have totally missed that, too.
They didn't really say what happene to Gloria, just that she was a prostitute and as soon as they realized that the body that they found was her mother, they seemed to drop the case of the daughter... Very strange.

What eye problems do you have, that you can't see 3D?When I was younger I had surgeries (yes more than one) to correct a lazy eye. Well my right eye still overcompensates for my left. If I have my right eye shut I can see ok. Not great but ok. If I have them both open I see very little out of my left eye. The way I explained it to my DH was with the 3D glasses. If I put them on I see about a 1/4 inch of red on the very far left and all the rest is the blue/green color. Its just funky. And there is nothing that my eye dr can do to correct it.
Why can't you see 3D??
EMsMom
11-23-2005, 10:16 AM
Sounds like we have almost the same condition. I believe it is called strabissmus? I was born cross eyed. I had my first surgery at 18 months, I believe. Anyway, due to that surgery, I can see with each eye individually, but not together. My left eye is weaker, so I primarily use my right eye, too. With the 3D glasses on, if I looked through with my left eye, I saw red, if I looked with my right, I saw the bluish color. I have been able to see 3D stuff, sort of, at theme parks when the glasses are better IMO.
kadee_29
11-23-2005, 11:49 AM
It does sound like almost the same condition. My dr never told me an exact name for it though. I will definitely go look into that now. Thanks!!!!

11-23-2005, 11:55 AM
:) Or maybe it's Myopia... Or perhaps both! LOL... I was diagnosed/treated as an infant/small child. Although I did have to have surgery not the long ago as my eyes were starting to turn in again....
Sorry to have taken the subject away from Medium... *blush*

For those who watched last night:
Did you notice how the guy called his wife Jade at the end? He said, "Shut up, Jade!" Then he went back to calling her Angela or whatever name she was using and it was dropped. I thought that was weird.

I think they did that on purpose - his memory was "breaking through" and that's when he began remembering everything that he had done.
I didn't like last night's episode as much as usual. First - I'm guessing that this was an older episode, but I am so tired of her husband constantly doubting her psychic abilities! Does he have to do it EVERY SINGLE TIME?
Also - I didn't get the whole sequence in the beginning - when she had a different husband and kids. And I didn't understand why the guy had to keep going for MRIs. It was the first episode I was a little "eh" on! :)

Good point about the different husband and kids at the beginning; but they tend to do this from time to time....the writers will bring a character or story into the show and then just drop it as it veers off in a different direction.
As for the MRI's, I think he was going all the time because he had been shot in the head during that break-in.

Bumping this up to say I think it's very cool for the writers of Medium to revamp last night's episode (where Joe was supposed to have flashbacks of his experience with the disgruntled employee who shot 3 people) saying "we've seen enough real shootings these days".

I forgot this thread was here!
Did anyone see last week's episode with the "body in the freezer" - and could you explain the ending to me? I missed a piece of it and was confused. I'll write in white below so no spoilers (although it's old now!):
I got that it was the older sister in the freezer, that she had been killed years ago by the boyfriend (now in prison) and the younger sister took the diamonds. How did the younger sister "frame" the boyfriend's son to say that he did it? Did he really commit suicide, or did she kill him? Also, why did the younger sister die? According to the ME, it was because she swallowed the diamonds and they broke inside her. But then it flashed to that scene in Mexico where the jeweler tells her they are fake. I am so confused!

I love the current story line but it's driving me crazy! I thought surely we'd have some resolution this week - I had no idea it was going into a third episode!
Any hunches on how this will end up?
