Congratulations Heather and welcome to the world, G2
QOTD - When you lose your plug, does it show up on the toilet paper or just drop into the toilet? Just wondering if it will be obvious that I lost it.
***
We put a contract down on a new house today. We're going to be building outside of Dallas and are now going to be working hard to finish getting our house market-ready. We've got about 45 days from the time they start until drywall stage to get an offer on our house...but that shouldn't be a problem because houses in our neighborhood sell really fast. The only problem we may face is that if our house sells fast and our building isn't complete, we may be displaced for awhile. Guess that's why they made extended stay hotels, though! Just gotta find one that will accept pets. :)

CONGRATULATIONS HMBAY!!! WELCOME G2!
losing plug it is really gross losing your mucus plug. it is like a huge glob of snot. you could get some on the toliet paper, and in the toliet. a huge glob. some people lose it slowly.
i wiped on night in the middle of the night while going to the bathroom, and it felt extremley slimy, i looked at the paper, then in the toliet, and there was a HUGE glob at the bottom. 1/2 hr later, i was getting regular contractions

Congratulations, HMBAY! What great news to start the week with!!!!! It also sounds like we'll have more October babies SOON - good luck to those of you who think labor is right around the corner!
I had a big weekend - prenatal massage Friday night & big shower was on Saturday! Ladies, the prenatal massage was the BEST thing I've done in the past 8 months - 60 minutes of pure heaven. Plus, Baby R. seemed to like it, too - he/she was moving around like crazy the entire time! It really helped my back pain, so it was totally worth every cent of the $75 it cost. I wouldn't be surprised if I have another one before this pregnancy is over!
I feel so blessed - we got EVERYTHING at our shower. EVERYTHING! Seriously, the only necessities I need to run out & get are an extra car seat base, changing pad, and a bathtub. I was completely overwhelmed at everybody's generosity - so much so that I got choked up several times during the shower. :o I'll put the details about the goodies we got in my journal, but I have to share my favorite gift with you guys - $100 toward a newborn photography session with this amazing local photographer:
www.kathyrizzo.com
How cool of a gift is that? This is something I was going to do anyway, but now we'll only have to shell out $60 for the session plus any prints we want to order. I absolutely love the style of her work & can't wait to take Baby R. when he/she is just a week or two old!
Here's my 33 week belly shot from a week ago:
http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b5d730b3127cce9455add36d3c00000016108QctWzRuyaW
For comparison, here I am at 28 weeks:
http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid180/p3a240c10888a9d2db07b37694d4fda58/f2f60b98.jpg
Question: I've heard that loose BM & a slow in baby's activity often happen before the onset of labor. Is this true? Baby R. was unusually quiet this past weekend, and this morning I have (TMI) had to run to the bathroom twice already, which is something I rarely experience. I'm not worried about the lack of movement because I was able to count the minimum number + some hiccups the past two evenings to know that things are OK. I'm just putting two & two together, maybe unecessarily, and wondering if it means anything significant. :confused:

Shower, I had my shower yesterday. It was so great. We got almost everything we needed. I'm just missing a car seat, breast pump, baby monitor and swing. Other then that everything is minor stuff. We feel so blessed!
Congrats Hmbay! Welcome G2!
Braxton-Hicks have officially started for me. What a pain!
Morning girls! I've been reading along all weekend as time allowed but didn't have time to post. I'm way too far behind to attempt so's, but it sounds like we are going to have some serious baby action around here very soon now that Heather has taken the title of first September baby. The nurseries and bellies are looking fabulous! :D
We had a busy baby weekend! DH is back to work today, but he worked his butt off last week and made huge progress getting ready for the baby. What a guy :D I took pictures last night of the almost completed nursery but was too tired to download them which I hope to do tonight and post along with my 34 week belly shot. We still need the wall decor, but wanted to wait and decide for sure about the nursery set-up before we did anything. Glad we did because we don't have as much wall space as we thought.
Finished up baby classes, including a section on BFing. I feel much better about it now, and won't be taking an actual BFing class. Oh, I also had an acupuncture appointment (I get treated for migraines) and I spoke to her about treating a few points that might induce labor when I come in next (my 39-40th week). She was totally agreeable to that :) which is great news, and hopefully I'll be able to avoid an induction.
I'm not feeling so great today, I think Bean is headed south. I'm having so much more movement in my very low pelvis and I normally don't have tailbone pain until the afternoon but already have it this morning. Ugh, 4 more weeks of work is going to be terrible!
Diane: Yes those can be signs of labor on-set. I did also have a bathroom issue about 2 weeks ago, but then it stopped so who knows? For some people losing their mucous plug means labor is right around the corner and for others, a few weeks yet. Pregnancy is so confusing :confused:
ETA: My additional appointments 10/7, 10/14 The new thread looks great!!!

ugh... not feeling well today. Everytime I eat something, it comes right out the other end (sorry TMI). But the weird thing is, I have an appetite and everything sounds good to me??!??!! :rolleyes:

DianeCourt Sounds like you had a great weekend!! Yay for getting almost everything from your showers. That's truly a blessing. Cute belly shots. Yes, loose BMs can be a sign of impending labor, but you have to remember that it isn't a sign for everyone. I've had loose BMs at different times throughout pregnancy, and usually it's related to something I ate. As long as you don't start to see other signs (losing MP, AF crampy feeling, pelvic pressure) I wouldn't worry too much.
Tulip Glad your shower went so well! Sorry about the BH, they are a pain.
EJM Can't wait to see your nursery!
godsgift77 Enjoy your day off!
cj Sorry to hear that you're not feeling well, I hope you feel better soon.
I've been having lots of lower back pain, and that heavy feeling that I always get during AF (it's almost crampy but not), today. Hope that means something! ;)
Other than that I have very little desire to do anything right now. Ugh, it sucks.

YEA for the new thread! Thanks LML!!
Congrats hmbay!!! I can't wait to hear all about it.
I can't believe we have our first baby already. It seems like just yesterday that we all started this adventure.
I am pretty excited about daycare today. Originally, DH and I thought we would take our baby girl to a daycare center here that was going to charge $450/month. Well, after talking to some friends of ours, we found a lady who watches their daughter in her home. She only charges $2/hr. Currently she has 2 other kids that she watches and they are both around 1 year old. She said she would be happy to meet with us and possibly watch our little girl too. Our friends are really happy with her too. It means a lot to me to know someone who uses her and has had good experience with her. I am excited to meet with her.
I've been having lots of lower back pain, and that heavy feeling that I always get during AF (it's almost crampy but not), today. Hope that means something! I have been having these same AF type feelings lately. I have been hoping it means progress too. I guess I will find out at my next appt. on Thurs!

I've got a question that involves TMI...I hope nobody minds...
Is anybody else dealing with wet underwear? I'm going to have to start wearing a pad...it feels like I peed my pants, but I *know* I didn't pee my pants. There's no color and it is just a watery fluid consistency. Is it possible that I have a high break and this is amniotic fluid trickling? I can't see how it would be...the baby isn't even engaged, though I thought she was because I could breathe better.
I haven't noticed any bloody show and I don't think I've lost my plug, but I might have during one of my midnight bathroom trips... But I keep going back to the baby not being engaged as of Friday, so it seems too soon...

amtaylor- Thank you so much, I feel huge and I've gained like 35 pounds so that's very nice to hear!! Also thanks for answering my question, I feel better knowing that yours didn't hurt.
lml- I don't know what yours is but I know that I've been having a ton of discharge. It's not watery though, so I think yours is different. Sorry I just realized I probally am no help at all.

09-12-2005, 06:36 PM
Congrates Heather! Welcome to the World G2!
lml: (tmi alert) I have that same issue. Some kind of watery discharge. I had my first internal exam this morning and my doctor though my tissues looked a little red and I might have a yeast infection. I have no itching or burning though. He wasn't concerned though since a yeast infection wouldn't hurt anything and he didn't seem concerned about the discharge either. So I just wear a pad now.
Other than that I am 50% effaced and closed. Alexander's head is low but not engaged. So in essence that means he will come soon but it's not imminent.

Hi there
I am exhausted..I had forgotten how tiring the first couple of weeks back at school are. WOW and do I have preggo brain today, I didn't take attendance until 30 minutes before the students had to go home..and that was after the office called twice to remind me.
lml I have the same watery discharge..I was meaning to ask my doctor about it at my last appointment but with everything else I had to talk about I completely forgot..Kaelyn is still high and there is no effacement/dilating going on so I'm not sure what it is.

Okay I am going to put my feet up..they are HUGE today

Wow, been a little busy in here today!
CONGRATS HEATHER!! Hope all is well and can't wait to hear the birth story! Yay for our first baby!
Just back from my 37 wk appt. First of all, I gained 3 lbs in a wk! What is up w/ that??!! I'm now up 31lbs total. I'm also a very clear 2cm and a bit more than 50% effaced...soft and mushy, as the doc put it and he could feel the baby's head. He confirmed that I did indeed lose my plug the other day. It was interesting that he seemed surprised by the progress but still made a point to say "could be this way for weeks"....the obligatory doctor statement. ;) I was actually just glad to hear that there was a reason for all the contractions I've had...that it's taken me from 1cm-2cm in the last week. It's certainly ideal for the baby to cook for a couple more weeks but I take comfort in that my feeling like my body is doing something different was confirmed. We talked a bit about my mom & sis, both of whom had very short labor/deliveries. My sis, for example, was 2 hours from the time of the first contraction to when she delivered my niece. My mom was pretty much the same w/ both my sis & I. It makes me worried that I'll go so quick that I won't have time to get the hospital or realize that the the labor is going quick. He said that if I have contrax for 45 min to an hr to not wait at home...just go to the hospital. No one knows whether short labors are hereditary or not but he'd rather not take the chance. I *heart* my doc...he always validates what I feel and takes action. Not at all what I can say for the rest of the OB's in that practice. I joked w/ him that he is not allowed to take off any days, be in any meetings, be in any surgeries, etc. until after my baby comes. He laughed but then said that he's actually on call a lot this next month. Yay! Maybe there's a chance I'll end up w/ him at the hospital afterall.
Anyway...dinner is ready.
Thanks lml for the new thread - looks great!
Have a great night everyone.

Congratulations Heather!
I don't know if Lisa posted this or not but this is the email that Heather sent to Lisa today...
"Too tired to go into lots of details right now but here is a picture
of our new son: Alexander Jonathon Vetsch:
He was born at 8:51 am on Sept 10th. 5 pounds 15 oz and 20 inches
long.
Off to take a nap! "
There was no picture posted because Lisa wants to make sure she has Heather's permission to post the pic here and on WC.
QOTD
I want to give some personal warning about ignoring any watery leakage. Here is what I was told with my first pregnancy. If the fluid is making your panties wet, is colorless and oderless to call the doctor. It is possible that youre water broke. The morning of my son's birth I had wet panties. I didn't "gush" like the nurses and movies said I would...I just woke up with wet panties. They had me come in right away with my wet panties in a baggie. They tested them and found out my water did in fact break. The reason I didn't "gush" is because when I stood, my son's head blocked the fluid from coming out. Since I didn't have any contractions my doctors administered pitocin to start contractions and so the fun began.
So my suggestion is to call. The worst that can happen is they send you home with some panty liners! ;) But you really don't want to risk leaking fluid too soon or anything.

Thanks for the info about Heather, Michelle!
scubasam-Yeah! How exciting. Sounds like you are chugging right along!
discharge-I've had this watery discharge for the past 3 weeks and have been wearing a pad most of the time. It does go through my underwear if I don't have a pad on but I wouldn't say it soaks it. Dr. said it's totally normal at this point in the pregnancy.

Congrats Heather!!! Welcome to the world G2!
Happy Belated Bday Lexy!!!
lysh79 You are looking great!
LML I wear a pantyliner everyday anyway (like you all really care :p ), but I have noticed that lately I need to change it more frequently. Mine is also watery. Also, thanks for the new thread!!!
I just returned from another whilwind trip to the Bay Area for a wedding. We've been traveling for almost 3 weeks straight and we are going away again this coming weekend. I'm exhausted and I also feel so out of touch with everyone here. Its made it really clear to me how much I've come to rely on the support in this thread. THANKS to everyone in this thread!!

Here is the other wall with the glider and crib. Ignore the mattresses, we are in a two bedroom place and decided to keep our guest bed until after my mom comes to help with the baby. I bought some animal prints today for behind the glider in a small grouping. We eventually will be putting the name in wooden letters above the crib, but since we don't know the gender (or heck even a name) at this point it can wait :rolleyes:.

Congratulations Amanda! I was right that you'd go first! If you haven't been updated on the announcement list, I will add you immediately.
Thanks to everyone who weighed in on the fluid thing. I talked with my Bradley instructor who said that it sounds like watery mucous. I will follow up with my doctor, though.
I am so ready for my baby to get here. I talked to my instructor about my feelings about this, as well, because I was feeling guilty about wanting to go ahead and try natural methods of induction. I am going to wait until I see the doctor to try anything so that I can have her ok first...but I feel torn because I do not want to go to 40 weeks for fear that the baby will be too big (due to GD), but I do not want pitocin or cytotec or any other form of medicinal oxytocin or prostaglandin.
ejm your nursery looks great.
Lvella - wow...that's a lot of travel. I'm almost to the point where I am ready to start refusing to leave Dallas on the weekends because I want to stay near my hospital. In fact, I wouldn't leave Dallas this Saturday except that I *really* want to eat some stew at my hometown's fall festival stew contest. I haven't had it in 6 years and I've been looking forward to this since June. Then, after that, we have to go pick up our carseat and stroller at his parents' place a few hours away. But Saturday will be the last day we leave town.

36 weeks today!! Yay!
Tiger Great news about daycare! Glad you're having the same AF-like feelings. I also had wonderful sharp shooting pains yesterday afternoon, boy was that fun for awhile!! LOL
lysh79 Good to hear from you! Cute belly shot.
lml41981 I'm also having watery discharge, mine is similar to the way Lexy described it. Enough to go through the panties, but not exactly soaking it. I've been chalking it up to sweat mostly. With it being hot still here, and those regions prone to higher temperatures, I've been sweating a lot down there. It could also be a little bit of incontinence (though I haven't noticed it) or just plain watery discharge. I'd call your doc if you're worried.
Hi LoveandLaw!!
scubasam I think you might be next!!
Thanks for that info Michelle and Curtis!! I saw the picture over in Heather's LJ and he is just adorable!!
lvella43 Sorry to hear about all the traveling, that must be getting hard!
EJM Lovely nursery pictures and belly shots!
Cartersmommy I knew there had to be a good reason why you haven't posted in a few days!! CONGRATS on your beautiful little boy!! Hang in there with breastfeeding, the first six weeks are the hardest, they say. Ask lots of questions over in the breastfeeding thread if you need to, they're very helpful ladies! Can't wait to hear your birth story.
hmbay Love the name you've picked for your son!! And he's adorable, I saw the picture over in your LJ last night. I bet you'll be glad to hear that you weren't the first Oct mom to go into labor afterall!!
Wow, two babies already! How exciting.
I was having lots of sharp shooting pains in my lower back yesterday afternoon, and the crampy feeling all day. So lets hope that does something!
Though, part of me wants Lucas to hang in at least another 3-4 weeks now, because last night we saw this awesome house that we've put an offer in on!! Cross your fingers girls that we get it. We could close probably in 3 weeks at the earliest, which is cutting it close if we're going to move before baby time. :eek: Let's hope it all works out!

Drive-by post.....
HUGE CONGRATS TO hmbay and cartersmommy!!!!
Feeling a little better today. Got the speech from DH last night that I do too much and need to just relax more. :rolleyes:
We had our first of two baby basic classes last night. There were only 4 couples and we knew one of them from Lamaze. Anywho, there is a lot that I learned (and hopefully hubby did too) and well... it made my head spin. So much to remember. I thought I was worried about L/D, but I think I'm more worried about taking care of this little one :p I guess parenting instincts will kick in when the time comes.
Tomorrow night I have a BF class. I'm excited to attend, because I'm not well prepared in this subject.
Two exciting events over our weekend. First, I heard my niece say my name for the first time :D and second my SIL got engaged!

Amanda Congrats and welcome Carter. He's adorable. Glad to hear things are well with you... Hopefully BF gets a little better day by day :)
lml Hopefully your watery discharge is a normal pregnancy thing, but glad that you are going to get it checked out.
EJM Nursery looks wonderful! Great belly shot!
lorialys Good luck with the house. Hopefully Lucas comes a little later so you can close and move before he gets here!

BTW, if anyone needs any BFing help, I'd love to help out any which way I can and the Bfing thread is also super helfpul. I only say this because I was fortunate enough to nurse my DD for 14+ months.
BTW, will anyone be journaling over in LJ more?

OMG, Amanda!!!!! Congratulations! What awesome news! Carter is SUCH a cutie! Hang in there with the BFing - we'll need your expertise when the rest of the Oct. babies join the world! ;)
All you ladies who are moving right now have my utmost admiration? I can barely get myself out of bed these days!! :p
lml: I have a list of non-medical ways to (hopefully) induce labor. Do you have a similar list? If not, I'm happy to PM them to you when I get home tonight. Some of them require medical supervision, or at least awareness you are doing them.
Amanda checking in made me wonder, anyone heard from jh124 since the weekend? She was having lots of BH on Friday.
lml41981

EJM, the ones my Bradley instructor mentioned were:
1) Brisk walking
2) Nipple stimulation to release oxytocin (which causes contrax)
3) Sex - semen contains prostaglandins and the female orgasm releases oxytocin
4) Stimulating certain pressure points
5) Eating spicy foods (causes irritation of the intestines, which causes the intestines to contract and could make the uterus contract)
6) Herbs - Evening primrose oil and the cohoshes - all of which require doctor supervision and approval.
Do you have others?
mommycal - unless nobody else wants to keep the LJ community up, I was planning on leaving it. I haven't used it because, quite frankly, I forget it is there. I started it as a place for us to go during the WC outage...I'm happy to leave it up or take it down...whatever everyone else wants.
c j - So glad you mentioned breastfeeding class because I totally forgot about my class that is tomorrow. Congrats on hearing your niece say your name and on the engagement.
lorialys - Good luck on the house! Hope you get it!!! Glad you mentioned sweating down there because I had been thinking maybe that was what was going on, too...but then I thought, "Do people really sweat down there?" :p
***
I dreamed last night that the baby decided that today was the day to be born. I was so beyond thrilled...then I woke up still pregnant and not having contrax (though I had one heck of a backache!) and I was a bit bummed. I really want this kiddo to go ahead and be born so that my chances of having a huge baby are decreased. I wonder what the risks of having the baby at 36 weeks versus 37 would be...I know every day inside mom is equal to 3 days in NICU, so I'd rather have a slightly bigger baby on the 22nd than a baby that could have to go to NICU today. The 22nd isn't *that* long to wait.
Off the top of my head, one of the others was castor oil which my class instructor (who is a midwife) used to induce two of her daughters with. I think it can work as quickly as the cohash so it falls into the "needs medical supervision" category.
She also suggested (when I asked) acupunture, not just the massage pressure points. She said it works for some and not for others, just depends on you. We had a woman there to observe, she is a midwife in training said she tried the pressure points during early labor and although it did give her contractions they stopped as soon as the pressure did.
I'll look tonight and see if that is all of them, I cannot remember.

cj Yay for hearing your neice say your name, and congrats to your SIL! Thanks for wishing us luck with the house.
mommycal I have all but abandoned LJ in the past month or so, because they decided to block it at work. But once I'm no longer working I'll be back to posting over there. I hate that shutterfly doesn't work there though, photobucket and mpix are totally sucky, and I don't even want to try and understand how to use msn (plus those are blocked by work right now too). So I may not post pictures all that often. But I'll definitely keep posting in my journal, and I'd be game for keeping the Oct thread going over there as well.
lml41981
Thanks for the good luck on the house, we'll need it! We've been burned so many times in the past with stuff going off the market really quickly, that I'm trying not to get my hopes up too high. But I'm still excited.
Glad you mentioned sweating down there because I had been thinking maybe that was what was going on, too...but then I thought, "Do people really sweat down there?" :p
I'm glad I'm not the only one too! Man, I used to sweat down there so bad during my period, that's the only reason I know it's possible. ;)
Labor inducing techniques Can I add some non-scientific, somewhat humorous ones? ;)
- Driving down bumpy roads
- Eggplant parmesian (sp?) from Macaroni Grill
- There was some dish from Outback Steakhouse that was supposed to work too, hmmm....
And a semi-serious one, red raspberry leaf tea? This one also requires supervision, because it can cause very strong contractions and is actually on the do-not-drink list for pregnant ladies because of that. But I know one of my journal buddies was suggested to use it by her midwife to bring on labor.
I just got off the phone with our benefits people, trying to understand what will and won't be covered and how long after I stop working that I can still be covered under my plan before I have to switch to my husbands. And figuring out my options as far as FMLA and STD go. Phew, what a complicated mess!
I'm ready for a nap!

Discharge I had a little episode just now sitting at my desk. All of a sudden I felt wet. I went to the bathroom to find my panties and pants wet. How embarrassing. I think it is a case of me wetting myself though because it seems to have stopped now. I don't have any pads here at work so I had to use some toilet paper until I can go home for lunch. Wonderful! :rolleyes:
Cartersmommy CONGRATS! He is beautiful!
lorialys Good luck on the house. I hope your little man stays put until after you can move!
I was finally able to sleep some last night! I woke up feeling great....besides the backache that has become a normal part of my life. DH was probably happier about me sleeping than I was since it meant I wasn't tossing and turning and keeping him up all night!

You know how what it's like when you make plans and God laughs?
Saturday morning was beautiful. I got up early, did some straightening around the house, made french toast for Brian and I, and got ready for my shower. I had a terrific hair day, wore my diamond stud earrings for the first time in months, and looked really cute in my khaki capris, blue shirt, and tan sandals. I left the house a little late, around 12:50. My mom arrived at National airport at 1:15, and we were meeting my friend Chip there to give him a ride to my co-ed BBQ baby shower.
I hopped on the Beltway, got off on Route 1 in Old Town, and was almost to Duke street. Traffic stopped at a red light, the light changed and traffic began to creep forward then stopped suddenly. I was relieved I had a cushion between me and the car in front of me. Then THUD!!! I was rear ended - hard! Things went a little fuzzy, but I didn't black out. I pulled the car over as far as I could and got out. You should have seen the look on the guy's face that hit me (crap - I hit a pregnant woman!) We check the damage to both cars, it was minimal. I told him that I was sorry, but I needed to call 911. I gave our location, told the dispatcher I was pregnant and that I needed to go to the hospital. I tried to exchange information with the guy, but was upset, crying, and confused. I called Brian and told him he needed to go to the airport to meet Mom and Chip. He said no, he'd come pick me up. I said I was going to the hospital and wouldn't be there. I left Chip a message on his cell phone, giving him the flight number and telling him he needed to meet my mom and that Brian would pick them up. The ambulance and police showed up. The police officer took my purse and wallet to exchange info for me. The paramedics screened me, then put me in a collar and strapped me to the board. The police officer told me he'd meet me at the hospital with my license and registration. The car was impounded.
At the ER, I was incredible uncomfortable. They tipped the board on its side, so that I wasn't flat on my back, but it put extra pressure on my neck and jaw. I was crying because my lower back hurt so bad. It seemed like ages, but probably within the hour I was X-rayed (not thrilled, but Hank is bigger now so it wasn't as much a risk, and we put two lead aprons on him.) I began having "real" contractions, pain, etc. When I was wheeled back to my ER room, my mom was there waiting for me. She hugged me, got the ER doc re: contractions, then went to give her visitor pass to Brian. Brian was white as a sheet. My mom told me later that he was shaky when he picked them up, and pretty panicked. The ER dr sent me/us right up to labor and delivery (probably because he was terrified that I might deliver right there.)
I should mention that this is not the hospital I was in before, as it was the closest to the accident, but not where I'm due to deliver. We joked that I was secret shopping L&D wards in the Northern Virginia area. I was put on monitors to measure the heart rate and contractions. Hank's heart rate has been consistantly in the 140s, but was in the 160s and 170s on Saturday. I was having "real" contractions - pain and all - at 3 minutes apart. I was given something (magneseum?) with the terbutaline to slow/stop them. After a few hours, I was taken to get an ultrasound. Brian, Mom, and Chip got to see Hank swimming around and waving. The tech estimated his weight at 5lbs 6 oz. We got to see him blink, swallow, and kick. And he is most definitely still a boy. The tech was so nice and printed about six photos for us. The placenta was still attached and the uterus and amniotic fluid looked fine.
I went back upstairs for monitoring for another few hours. Brian took Chip home, then brought some food back (I could eat, since the dr wasn't too concerned I would give birth that night). I called Shelly and Bethany to find out how the "shower" went (I called and said "Don't you hate it when you throw a shower for someone, clean your house, and the bitch doesn't show?"). They told me that they went ahead and had the party (c'mon, they had the food and cake), and I'm so relieved they did. I was released at 8:30pm Shelly told us to stop by for leftovers and to pick up gifts.
We got to their house about 9pm and loaded up plates. I played with Baby M for a little bit, but I was mostly stiff and sore. I went to the bathroom and discovered I was spotting bright red blood. Shelly and my mom wanted to open gifts. I caught Brian and whispered that I was spotting and didn't want to worry them, so he said I was too tired and we needed to go home. We loaded up the car and took the leftover cake (!). When we got home, I checked and hadn't spotted anymore. I called the L&D dr I had seen at the hospital and he said that if it continued to call my dr and go to the L&D ward at "my" hospital. Brian unloaded the car, and miracle of miracle, Leo had been left out of his crate all day and didn't destroy anything! What a good boy!
We chatted for a bit, mostly to buy time to see if I would spot again. I didn't, so at midnight, we all went to bed.

Cartersmommy OMG another one!!! Congrats!!!! We are movin now!
Discharge - get it all the time. I too think its mostly a sweat combo normal discharge. On hot days I have to wear a panty liner.
lml41981 sucking your thumb is another one we learned in bradleys. there is a pressure point on the roof of your mouth. We saw a video where the lady was using that to help get her contrax going, and they got so intense that she had to stop walking. Good luck. I just talked to my dr. and she only lets you go to 41 weeks, and I don't think DH and I would be wanting to induce at that point. :rolleyes:
CRIB update - its IN, now we just need to return the bad one and get the new one :confused: ugh I hope my DH and our friend can do that soon.
I spent all weekend putting stuff away and washing things from the shower. Now almost EVERYTHING is ready. Just need to get the new crib, Oh and when I was washing the bumper, something happened and that needs to go back and get replaced :eek: so I am waiting on that too.
DIAPERS QOTD - how many of each size did you get, and what brand?

Jill...oh my gosh that's so scary! I am so glad you're ok.
Do not let the insurance company close out the claim until you've given birth and everything is said to be ok with both you and Hank. My mom was in a car that was rear-ended when she was pg with my sister and the insurance agent refused to close out the claim. I think now, though, they'd probably try to close it pretty quickly so you couldn't get further compensation if something *is* wrong.

That's EXACTLY what the other insurance company tried to pressure me into doing yesterday. My insurance company said to wait until post-birth, but State Farm was really heavy. I refused and finally said "look, I'm not your customer, you are not interested in my best interest so we are done with this conversation for now."

I just wish I knew which are going to end up working better so I could exchange some if need be. I've read here that so many people prefer Pampers but all my friends swear by Huggies (for boys anyway). Who knows!

Scary Jill! I got hit from behind the day of our Baby Shower too....only ours was a hit and run. The guy slammed in to the back of us in traffic and the poof disappered into thin space...don't ask me how he got out since it was dead stopped traffic. You are smart to go to the hospital. I just made sure I felt her move around and then went home. Super scary though, I know. I think I hyperventilated for 20 minutes.

So exciting Nancy Drew!! I can't believe how close so many of us are getting.
Did you Dr. think it could happen any day? Isn't it crazy that you could be 3 cm for weeks? Blows my mind. My Dr. had a patient who was 4 cm dialated for 4 weeks but she did say that's rare. I hope baby comes soon (but not too soon).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The past 3 days I have been having at least 8+ strong hard contractions and major back pain. It's still not enough to be regular or anything. I'm still holding out hope that Ella will continue to cook until at least next week (38). I feel good and positive that she won't come this week..but we'll see tomorrow at my 37 weeks appointment. Stay put baby girl!
Congrats CartersMommy! I can't believe we have 2 babies already! :eek:
Nancy, sounds like you may be next.
Lex, I don't think it'll be long for you either.
Jill, I'm so glad you're okay. How scary!
I'm so not ready to have this kid come anytime soon. I have 45 days left and I need every single one of them!
YAY, another beautiful baby CONGRATULATIONS CARTERSMOMMY!! Carter is so cute!!
Diapers I'm sorta nervous about this because I have no newborn diapers and I wasn't going to buy any because the size 1 diapers start at 8 pounds. I'm thinking my little girl will be at least 8 pounds. If they don't fit I guess DH will have to run to the store.
jh124 That is so scary!! I've been sorta stuck at home with no car but anytime DH drives us anywhere he is so nervous about someone hitting us. When the baby comes I'm sure the driving anxiety will double. Glad to hear both of you are okay.
hey girls!!
lex-- thanks! he weighed 7lbs 7oz..... not small for 4wks early at all! i was so glad, but he looks tiny compared to lots of other babies.
last night was our first night home. all in all i think things went pretty well. he would have slept for much longer streches i think if we hadn't had to wake him up for his feedings every 3 hours! i think that's so hard. setting the alarm and getting up to feed him when he's still sleeping so soundly! but he's doing great, and i know he'll keep doing great because of the feedings and BF.
i'm feeling good today. they have me on some BP medicines to try and get my pressures down. they said that it's normal after pregnancy and pre-e to have an adjustment time where your body just doesn't quite know what to do. i have an appt. friday to have th bp checked, but the dr. seemed confident that it would come down by then. i hope she's right! bleeding and stuff after this baby has been pretty minimal. i do have some killer cramps after i nurse, but other than that, i feel really reallly great. hopefully i don't convince myself that i'm feeling TOO good and try and over do it! that is something i would do! i have to just take it easy and take care of Carter!
we're ordering our birth annoucments today! yea!! i'm so excited!!
i hope everyone is doing great! sounds like we have some other soon to be mommies right there! i can't imagine walking around dialted that much and not having much happen.... i would go nuts!
love to you all!! :)
Diapers, we got a bag of newborn diapers (40 total) that go up until 10 pounds. With my family history (big babies) and the GD I'm wondering if we'll get to use those at all. If not SIL is expecting in March and her first 2 were about 6 lbs. each so she can have them. I also got my SSIL's left over size 1 diapers. I think I got about 20-30 of them. That should last about 2 weeks.
CONGRATS CARTERSMOMMY He's beautiful, and I can't wait to hear your labor story!
jh124 Glad to hear you're ok. I've actually been on one of those boards and neck straps before from a car accident, and they suck. I can't even imagine being on one pregnant. I hope your mini shower was good anyways, and that you got what you needed off your registery.
Diapers So far we just have one pack of pampers nb swaddlers. We don't plan on buying anymore ourselves until after Daytona gets here to get a better idea of what fits her.
We just found out today at work that everybody's required to work 2hours of overtime this week :cool: Oh well, at least it will help out the paycheck, which I really could use anyways.
Tomorrow I plan on straighting up the house and packing our bags for the hospital. I still have about 6 weeks left yet until my due date, but maybe by packing my bags, it won't seem like I really have that much left and it will go a lot quicker than what it has been. ;)
Dunno what to do...I found out that my coworkers are giving me a shower. Originally it was supposed to be last Friday...good thing that didn't happen since the nurses forgot me in the non-stress test room. Then, apparently it got moved to next Friday. Now, apparently it has been moved to Monday the 26th and I was told that I'm not allowed to have the baby before then. I know she was joking, but there's a very real chance that the doctor could induce me before then depending upon how my u/s goes on the 22nd. Plus I was planning to see about natural inductions before then...I'll feel guilty if have the option of making myself (or trying to make myself) go into labor before and I mess up their plans.
Amanda OH MY GOODNESS!!! What a great surprise!! He’s beautiful!!
ejm CUTE nursery!!
lorialys hope all goes well with the house!
jh124 good grief! What a crazy day! Glad you and baby stewie are ok…
diapers we didn’t buy any since we got so many at the shower and in all sizes – sorry I couldn’t be more help
~~
We went to our first newborn baby care class last night and found out some interesting stuff:
1. She reco’d removing bumpers b/c of SIDS– I thought I had heard this on these boards too
2. She said that the docs no longer require rectal temps *whew* wasn’t looking forward to that one! She said they would accept an underarm temp
3. Don’t switch diaper brands since the difference in chemicals can irritate baby’s skin – oh and baby can go through 10 – 12 a day! :eek:
4. Lower the water heater temp to 120
There was soooo much info and so overwhelming – I think im more concerned about bringing this kid home than L&D too…
I think I’m the only mommy who wants her kid to hang in there til at least Oct 1. That way, I can guarantee that I won’t have to go back to work until Jan – selfish I know but I really want to spend the holidays with my son :)
I haven’t had ONE regular contraction and haven’t lost any of my MP… looks like CJ will be hanging out for a bit more! :D
lex~ I am thinking "stay put thoughts" for you
ejm~Your nursery is beautiful
godsgift~ I am hoping that Kaelyn stays until the middle of Oct!! I am due on Halloween but the dr told me to be prepared about 2 weeks before then...Tony wants her to stay put until after Oct 11 because the Chargers are playing Mon night football and he has tix to go the game :rolleyes: men...
Not much going on here...I left school at 315, something I never do, came home and am ready to pass out. I have some papers to look at but I have a feeling that they will sedn me to sleep..I have become very good at falling asleep in the glider with my feet up :)
I hope I can make it until the middle of October...I don't have enough sick time to take off many days before she comes. However I just found out that there is no money for intersession (summer school over winter break...at my year round school the kids get a month off) so I don't have to go back to work until Jan 17!!!! :D And my first week back, the kids will be at Old Town for a week and I get a week of staff devlopment (in other words I can catch up on everything so I don't even have to think about my class while I am out) YAHOO!!!! :D
Take care everyone and have a good evening
Whew! You're a lucky one, godsgift!
The only reason I want DD to come early is that the longer she stays inside, the bigger she gets and the higher the chances are that she won't be able to pass through the birth canal (the shoulders are of special concern because that's what tends to be big on babies to GD moms). I really want a natural childbirth...but I really, really want to avoid a C-section...so if she can come a little earlier and be healthy, then that's my preference.
Quick Dr's update - finally some good news, all those painful contrax that I keep having, finally are doing something - I'm 50% effaced and starting to dialate - not to a 1 yet, but "starting"
As long as things are starting, I'm excited! :D
BP is good, The Boy's HB is 138 and I gained three pounds from last week - up to a total of 15 pounds gained so far. (water weight, I've now joined the cancle gang!)
Good luck to all those getting close, and I'm still here, just too tired at night to type much, and too busy at work to sneak on line! I peak in here when I can though :D
Nancy-I hear you on the waiting game. That's where I'm at now too and it's like twidling my thumbs. I really want her to stay put but I hate knowing it could be any day but could be as long as 2 1/2 weeks. I'm not complaining...there are worse things in life but I'm such a planner I hate not Knowing...but I better get used to that, eh? ;)
Amanda-Wow, that's a big boy for 1 month early. I'm sure you feel good knowing that he was at a very healthy weight when born. He's beautiful...so are the N size diapers even too big for him?
MCL-Anyone here from her? I'm wondering if she's having her baby boy? If you're out there MCL come check in, we're thinking of you!
godsgift-Thanks for all that info. It's all really good to know. I too want Ella to stay put a bit. I'm still not sure if I'm returning to work but I also want my maternity leave pay to last me as long as possible. I get 12 weeks paid after baby and then 4 1/2 month job protection with full benefits. I would like to get through mid Feb with that. :)
Contractions Question-So like I mentioned before I've been having a lot of contractions but nothing on a regular basis. The weird thing is that they are REALLY long. I mean at least 90 seconds and as long as 2 1/2 minutes. My belly gets rock hard and I have throbbing cramping and back pain...could it not really be a contraction? Why is it lasting so long? I have my 37 week appointment tomorrow so I'll ask my OB but I was wondering if any of you are having super long contractions too.
09-13-2005, 06:56 PM
So funny you asked that Lex - I was *just* asking my doc about that yesterday! Some of mine are long too.....especially if I'm standing/walking for awhile...seems like they last forever (up to 3-4 min). But then I've had others that are 30 secs-1 min and those are the ones that tend to be more intense. He said that it's normal to have some really long ones and that the "real" ones shouldn't last more than a minute. He didn't really give a reason why....now I'm really anxious to know what your doc says about it! :D
Congratulations Amanda and welcome little Carter!
Oh yea! I had my appointment today! My ultrasound results were back and it turns out that I am simply having a big baby! He is in the 95th percentile and the doctors are guessing he will weigh 9-10lbs. at birth! I am so glad I'm not trying a VBAC after that info! LOL
CONGRATS AMANDA!
Today was busy! First we had the ultrasound and everything looks great. She's head down and the placenta looks really good. She measured my fluid and all is well. They estimated that she currently weighs 6lbs 8oz. If I go all the way to 40 weeks, we can add another 2lbs. So... that's is not small... but hopefully managable!
The photos aren't as good as before... mainly because she's run out of room :rolleyes:
At my regular appointment, I had more good news... I'm GBS negitive, my BP was 90/52 and her heartrate was in the 150s. She's doing well! I've gained 26lbs total, so that's not too bad. We discussed my birth preferences and found out that she's right on track with my desires. She even said she would go ahead and fax a copy to the hospital for me :)
Hi everyone!
Such great news to all the new mommies!!! Congrats to hmbay and cartersmommy. This is so exciting. Over the next few weeks we'll really be dropping like flies ;)
I had my 37 wk appt today. Unlike most of the other early Oct mommies, I'm 0% effaced and 0% dialated. One big zero--unless you count the 2 lbs I gained since last week. My strep test came back positive :eek: :( :mad: Anyone else get this too? Dr said its no biggie, but I need to be on antibiotics 4 hours before baby is born. So, my dream of strolling in and having the baby in <2 hours is entirely lost. ;) She also said that I need to come in sooner if my water breaks at home. Anyone know how much sooner??
The crappy test results commenced my phase of pissed-offedness. I checked my voicemail and the furniture delivery company (who were to deliver flipper's new dresser this afternoon) left a message that the truck could not make it up our hill so we need to reschedule. :mad: DH worked from home today so he could deal with that and the comcast idiots. Comcast also rang true by showing up to fix our wireless connection only to tell DH that their server is down so they can't really fix it until server is up. Of course, they have no problem charging us $45/month for wireless service we cannot use. I really hate incompetence. Especially when I'm 37 weeks prego. To top off my anger, I found out my dr (and 4 others in her practice) will be at a convention the week that I'm due. Only 2 OBs will be available to manage both appointments and delivery. I'm convinced I'm going to end up with neither of these two dr's and some complete stranger will have his face in my junk. NOT HAPPY. Flipper needs to come either a week early or a week late. Finally, as I left the dr's office I noticed a picket line outside the hospital. Yep, somebody is on strike. Great. Its probably the L&D nurses with all my luck. Grrr.
In happier news my best friend gave birth to a baby girl last night. I'm so excited for her!!!
hey girls!!
thank you all again for the big congrats! i couldn't wait to get back here to share with you all!!
lexy-- when i started having contractions while being induced, mine were anywhere from 30 sec. to 2 minutes long and were just like you described.... intense cramping. i imagine that's what you're having, esp. since ella is so low already. i'll be anxious to hear about your appt. tomorrow!!
not much new here tonight! just playing and feeding little man! i swear, i'm so glad that we're BFing but it takes SO much time! i feel like i'm a machine of milk. my supply is huge, and this little guy doesn't need that much.... i can seriously pump for 3 minutes (not exaggerating) and get enough milk for 2 feedings. it's insane. and the bb's..... porn star quality. gotta tell ya. but they're not pretty like porn stars.... kinda saggy :( you take what you can get i guess!
i'm working on my birth story. it's really not eventful, except for the fact that we had to be induced asap! ha!
hope you all have great nights!
I'll post more pics tomorrow and do replies after I get back from my dr.'s appt.
I've been feeling soooo much pressure and Tim checked my cervix this morning. The head is way down there and I'm 4 cm dialated :eek: (of course it could stay that way for weeks). Tim said, "um.....well, you def. won't make it to 40 weeks!". I'm so very curious to see what my doc will say tomorrow- whether he will concur. I'll be 36 weeks tomorrow!!!!! :D
Congrates Amanda! Carter is beautiful!
lml: I'm not sure on these actually being used to induce but black licorice and red raspberry tea are some of the things that are on the no-no list during pregnancy in America but that are used in Europe during pregnancy to condition your uterus for birth. A lot of women in Germany start drinking red raspberry tea during their seventh month of pregnancy to get themselves ready to deliver. The black licorice is supposed to cause contractions but I also know quite a few women (including my grandmother and my mom during their pregnancies) who ate licorice every day during early pregnancy to help with morning sickness and none of them had a miscarriage. So I don't know if that one would really do anything to help induce.
I am 36 weeks today according to my official due date of 10-12-05. My doctor does not consider that full term so he wants Alex to stay put for at least another week. After that any time would be fine. According to him there is a significant difference in babies born before 37 weeks and after in how well they will be able to manage without any intensive care. He gave me a percentage but I forgot what it was. Since I think my due date is wrong (our u/s put me 8 days ahead and I also measure 37.5 weeks) I think I am actually at 37 weeks already so I am good to do. Except that I would like the little one to hold off until at least 9-23-05 because I would really like to have a little libra. Silly I know!
shushyk Sucking your thumb, interesting... I'll have to remember that tip!
Astara Thanks!
nancy_drew Sounds like you're getting close! 3 cm already!
LexyLou Stay put vibes for Ella!
cartersmommy What a good sized baby for almost a month early!! Sounds like you're doing great with the breastfeeding, try to keep that awesome supply up because you'll need it in a few weeks when he goes through his first growth spurts.
lml41981 I wouldn't feel bad about possibly ruining their plans for the shower. Nobody can predict when these little ones are going to come, or when the doctor will decide to induce. You just have to go with the flow and I'm sure your co-workers will understand. That's great that they want to throw you a shower though!
godsgift77 Thanks! From what I've heard, while doctor's offices will accept underarm temps, rectal temps are much more accurate. And they're really not all that hard to take. With the fast, and flexible thermometers they have today most babies don't even know they're in there. Just adding my 2 cents.
adoredh Great news from the doctor!
Michelle and Curtis Glad to hear that there's nothing wrong and he's just a big boy.
domesticdreamer Lovely nursery picture! 4 cm already! Wow!
Diapers We have one package of newborn Pampers swaddlers, and a big box (from Sam's Club) of size 1 Huggies. I hesitate to buy more until we know how well he fits into these and which brand works the best. I hear that most babies go through newborns and size 1's pretty quickly, but spend a lot more time in size 2 and 3. That is, unless you have a premie or a really small baby.
Today is 36 weeks for me!!! Yeah!!! I think I'm with godsgift in that I want the baby to come after October 1. I really don't want to go back to work until January. For some reason, I am totally convinced that I'm going to be late with this baby. I'll be so shocked and unprepared if he comes early. My bag isn't packed, we haven't finished childbirth class, DH hasn't finished the dresser/changing table yet, I haven't gotten any nursing bras or a pump and I need to buy a few more things we didn't get for the shower. Oh, and we don't have the car seat installed!! Geez, I've really got to get into gear.
lorialys - Keeping my fingers crossed that you get good news on the house today.
jh124 - So incredibly scary to hear about your accident. Glad to hear you and baby are fine.
godsgift - We had our second childbirth class on Monday and my husband made a comment "I sure hope this class is good because I'm missing Monday night football". The guy sitting next to me in class overheard and he agreed. Men. :rolleyes: Then we watched a video and after the video we had a break. Both my DH and this guy wondered if it would be inappropriate to ask the teacher if they could try and get the game while we were on break. Uhhhh, yeah, majorly inappropriate!
hmbay - We are dying to know more about G2!!
cartersmommy - He is just precious. It is great to hear from a new mom how BFing is going so I can be better prepared.
Can't wait to hear who might be the next mama to have her little one.
lml41981
09-14-2005, 06:54 AM
surftraitor, I'm so sorry about the GBS test coming back positive. I would imagine that when your water breaks (if it breaks at home), they'd want you to come in immediately. When the bag of waters breaks, the risk of infection increases and the baby needs to be delivered by 24 hours. With GBS, they'll probably want you on the antibiotics as soon after it breaks as possible.
dragonfly, thanks for the tips. My Bradley instructor serves red raspberry tea at class, so I'm not sure it is that bad. I will have to steer clear of licorice though...I can't stand the taste of it. I hope the baby stays put so you get a libra!
domesticdreamer - Beautiful nursery! That will be such a relaxing room for you. :)
Michelle - Yikes! That is a big baby.
amanda - glad BFing is working out well for you!
***
Well, we've decided to change our minds and hope that the baby comes on the evening of September 30 or on October 1. That would be 38 weeks and would give me two more full paychecks (including tomorrow's) before my decreased maternity pay kicks in. That would be a nice bit more chunk of change to put toward down payment on our new house. Does anybody know if taxes on maternity/medical leave pay is typically withheld at the gift tax rate or at the regular income rate? I'm planning on changing my withholding so that I'm no longer taking out the maximum...I'm ready to keep more of my pay up front as opposed to letting Uncle Sam borrow it.
I got home to a very nice surprise last night. The mail man had thrown two boxes on my front porch...I looked at the address and thought, "Who is this from?" Then I realized it was from my cousin...She sent me the cutest little polka dot swaddle blanket that she said is the best she's found because it doesn't stretch, so you get a good, tight swaddle that helps the baby sleep better (I think it is by Swaddle Me), some Baby Einstein videos, The Happiest Baby on the Block dvd...which will be great to go along with the book that I already bought, a lamb that plays the mother's heartbeat, whale sounds, clouds and some other soothing sound...I think it is by Cloud 9...and then all her leftover newborn diapers. She cautioned me against buying too many diapers because babies grow so fast. :p
Wow, lots of activity since I visited yesterday!
lml: I can't help you with your tax question, but isn't it the best when a box with a baby gift shows up on your doorstep? That happened to us a couple times because some people couldn't make it to my shower & sent a gift anyway. I have one of those Swaddle Me blankets, too, so I hope it comes in handy.
lorialys: Can't wait to hear how your Dr. appt. goes - your belly is looking fantastic!
dragonfly: My birthday is 10/19 & I'm a Libra, so I'm with you - I really, really want a little Libra, too! If my baby is even a couple days late, he/she will be Scorpio!
Surftraitor: I'm ALWAYS late with belly shots....join the club! :rolleyes: I can see a little bit of difference in your belly in just the last two weeks! Sorry about the GBS - I'll let you know in the next two weeks if I have it, too.
domesticdreamer: The nursery is STUNNING! :) I'll stop by your journal to say a bit more later.
amtaylor: SO glad to hear that the u/s went well & that she's head down. I'm praying the same thing for Baby R.! Those weight estimates can be off a pound either way, so she might not be a big as they think right now.
We took an "Intro to Breastfeeding" class at the hospital last night and it was just OK. I can't say that I really learned anything new, but I was glad that DH & I could sit through it & hear the same information together so we'll be on the same page. The instructor was pretty annoying - unorganized, didn't follow the class outline at all, couldn't answer all of the questions, etc. I hope she doesn't teach our infant care & safety class coming up on the 24th! :rolleyes: Plus, I can definitely tell that my hospital & Medela have some sort of relationship - all of the products she recommended were from Medela. I've heard good things about all of the Avent products I have, so I won't be swayed!
We got a call from USA Baby on Monday night - our glider & ottoman are in & we can pick them up on Saturday! They quoted 8 - 15 weeks, but said that the company (Best Chairs Inc) could usually turn orders around in 6 weeks. They actually beat that - it hasn't been quite 6 weeks yet! That's the last piece we need to be ready for Baby R's arrival - yay! I'd like to get a small side table to go next to it & a bookshelf, too, but those aren't necessities & I hope they'll be relatively easy to find.
About those diapers - we got a LOT of newborn size for our shower, so I thought I'd let you all know what I'm doing with my excess: I'm going to donate them to the survivors of Hurricane Katrina. I have a coworker who knows somebody that is driving a big truck full of supplies down to LA & MS next week, so I'm giving away the extra diapers & wipes that I have to them to take down there. Maybe there are some tiny babies down there that could use them right now! If I end up needing more, I'll just send my mom out to the store to buy some when the time comes.
So many great pics - Carter, belly shots and beautiful nurseries!!!
I have a question....in the old thread someone posted a great list of items for the hospital bag. I went hunting for it and couldn't find it, would any of you mind posting the items going in your hospital bag?
lml - I'm just guessing, but I just assume it would be taken out at the regular tax rate. But then again, I've assumed before and been wrong, so you might check with your payroll department. I claimed one more exemption on my W-4 this year and was shocked at how much less they take out. It has helped us alot in buying things we need for the baby this year.
Diane Court - Sorry to hear your b/fing class instructor was a dud! Those are the worst! Glad to hear your glider is in!
lvella - I'm also including spare change for DH to get food out of the vending machine, a list of phone numbers of everyone to call and I'm bringing the baby book with me, so I can get his hand and foot prints stamped in it. I also packed some sanitary pads and some chapstick. Oh, I just remembered, I am also taking some thick heavy socks and some slippers in case they will let me walk around during labor.
Lvella43 here is the Link to old thread (http://www.constantchatter.com/showthread.php?t=472&page=163&pp=10) It lasts for 3-4 pages.
DianeCourt - thats a great idea with the diapers. Not sure how much I will need. I also worry that maybe the baby wont like the brand I get :rolleyes: and I will need to try 3 or 4 different types.
lml41981 - not sure about the tax rate. Don't ya love surprise gifts!!
jenjen0713 - yay for 36W doesn't it feel sureal? We haven't finished the nursery and stuff we need to do and I just feel out of control until its DONE.
lorialys - thanks for the diaper info. OMG look at your belly wow that is total boy belly!!!
Surftraitor - Love the belly shot.
domesticdreamer - that room looks so good. I love the the lighting.
amanda - how sureal is it having him home? Whats the most OMG part?
My update - well went to the dr on MOnday. My BP was high 140/80 - she said that was high for me. Then she told me to watch my weight, work out more, and I was + for strep B!!! NICE what a crappy apt.
I then found out that the crib was in, so we started taking apart our old one to return it, and realized how badly the screws were stripping just while taking the thing apart, and I worried that in a few months when we need to lower the crib we would have a tough time. SO we decided to just return the entire crib and the mattress and start OVER :eek:
THEN on sunday while washing the bumper something happened and it got all ruined? Here is a p
