I am from Rocky Mount, NC. I can keep any plant in this world alive, but when it comes to flowers.....I have such a black thumb :( . No matter how hard I try, I fail  . At first my flowers will do well, but shorty after they turn brown and ugly :p !

Can you help me?

Sorry, I don't have any advice. I'm just subscribing because I'm moving to Durham next month and am interested in what advice you get.

I live in SC but my husband is very knowledgeable about southeastern plants/gardening in general. (Bachelors in Biology, almost done with a Masters in Entomology, worked in a nursery for a few years, has a green thumb like none other, has built water features/ponds, etc etc)

What are you looking to plant? The general "something pretty and hard to kill" kind of plant, or something more specific? What sort of area will you be planting in - direct sunlight/partial shade, etc?

ktdelsurI would like to re-do the flower beds in the front yard. It does have extreme sunlight, I have had to add a soil with moisture absorbing content. Anything I plant ends up dying :( .

I would definately like "something pretty but hard to kill" plants or flowers. I don't have anything specific, do you think you can help?
