Babylove ~ I'm charting too (I remember you on WC from the TTC w/ Charting thread). I think for now this thread can be a combo of it all. We can branch out later if we choose. But, we may all be able to teach each other something.
BTW: I'm CD5.

Hi Kelly and Tracee. :)
this is for everyone who is TTC now. I haven't been charting but plan to give it a shot next month if I don't get PG this time.
once this community gets bigger we can split up the TTC threads if it becomes too overwhelming to have it all in here. Or you can start a charting thread if you'd prefer to separate them.

Hello all! DH and I are in the mode of seeing what happens, but this month I was consciously aware of the timing. Right now I'm on CD 24 and AF is due anytime. Part of my problem is that my cycle has been a little variable. Last month it was 24 days long and the previous month it was 26. It used to be pretty standardly 26 days. So no sign of AF yet, and I've been feeling a million FPS, of course. I keep trying to remind myself that this has happened before, but its still impossible to keep from hoping. I am trying to stick to it and wait to see if AF comes tuesday. If not then I may test. But I probably won't make it that far. Ah, just had to vent this all since I'm keeping my hallucinations all to myself this time around. ;) I had a hard time not testing yesterday b/c it was my b-day and I thought that would be an awesome gift. But I thought it was too early so I refrained.
Any thoughts?
BTW, loving these boards already! Hope many more people join! :)

Welcome Jaime.
My cycles are a little variable too, 26-28 days. I haven't had too many FPSs. Aside from the first cycle when I tested too early and too much (seeing those BFNs sucked so bad) I haven't been testing, just waiting on AF. So far I've never had a 29 day cycle so if I ever make it that far I'll test.
Babylove - what part of MD are you in? I'm near Annapolis. I've met up with a few of the local WC gals a few times. You should join us sometime.
Jaime should too since you aren't too far away. :)

Welcome Caroline. :)
Every in my family (in my own generation) has gotten PG in 3 tries or less and so far in DH's family the kids have all been accidents, so cycle #4 will make me the least fertile member of my family. :( very frustrating. (not that 4 cycles of trying is a lot, everyone else in my family just seems to be really lucky).

cool. :)
I was chatting with Howebrook from WC about a GTG in late July. I'll be in NC next weekend for my Mom's 60th b-day and then again 2 weeks later for my neice's 1st b-day. I'll be free after that.
Has anyone else bought baby stuff already (obviously Kaeden's Mommy has, this ? is for those who are TTC #1 now)?
I buy cute stuff that is gender neutral when I find it on sale. For the gals that are local to me - I've found great deals at the Carter's outlet in Arundel Mills. DH even got into it when he saw the 70% off rack (we were there shopping for my neice).
babylove

Nope...I've never bought any baby stuff...even when I was pg. Don't know why...I just felt strange doing it. But I do lots of window shopping :)

:) Hi Carrie, Sparkles, Ali and Oceaneast.
Sparkles - you can take over next month if you want to resume your role as threadmistress or I can keep doing it here, doesn't matter to me.
AF arrived this morning. I'm still a bit dumbfounded. She wasn't due til Wed so I was just not expecting her today. So now we begin cycle #4. I bought TCOYF and a basal thermometer so I guess I'll start charting tomorrow.
Oceaneast - thats so cool! I'm not far from Annapolis at all. Its a really fun place to live. What part of NC are you in now? I lived there for 7 years - went to high school in Apex, NC and college at NCSU.

Morning, all! AllieAnnie, I like your avatar. :) Sorry evil AF found you Jane. I know its especially confusing and frustrating when AF comes early. Mine came two days early last month.
Anyway, I'm still waiting to see if AF shows today or tomorrow. I officially freaked out last night about the possibility of being PG. For better or worse, I feel like I really might be this month. What I mean by the for better or worse part is that I've thought this before and been wrong. But this weekend I've either been hit by the mean migraine bug for no reason, I'm getting sick in general, or I'm actually PG. I have had a headache everyday for the last week or so...normally I get my headaches the week of AF or after. I have been feeling v. fluish with nausea. Food sounds bad mostly, but then while I'm eating I feel better, but after the thought of what I just ate makes me feel sick again.
Anyway, last month my cycle was 24 days and I made it past that. My usual cycle is 26 so I guess we'll see if AF shows between now and tomorrow. If not by the end of the day Tues. I'll prolly go get a PG test for Wed. a.m. I guess we'll see.
Re: my freakout about actually feeling like this may be it (which I could be totally wrong again) I started panicking. Are we ready, is it too soon, blah, blah. I guess that's kind of normal. We are ready b/c we've been not preventing for two years after a brief stint of actually trying. And I have had the baby bug so bad. But I was just laying there feeling like crap and wondering if I was in fact PG, was this a sign of how it would be? Craziness considering I still have the world's longest 2 days left to wait.
Well, thanks for listening to my morning vent. ;) Hopefully things will get resolved one way or another soon so I can know where I stand and react accordingly!

Welcome to alliannie, looty, taragiraffe, and Bellefior. Next month either Sparkles or I will get a real group thread set up like it was on the WC with a members list and all those helpful links and info.

Hello! I’d like to join here. I’m confused. Is this site a part of WC or what? I think the format much better. That’s for sure!
I’m a member of the WC June thread, so I’ll join here, too.
My stats:
Me: JennW
DH:Paul
Married: 6/14/03
Last BCP: Never been on BCP
TTC since: June
DH and I are just seeing what happens right now. I do not chart, but my body tells me some signs of what’s going on in my weird cycle. I have very irregular cycles, which are very short (typically 21-23 days). From all I’ve read and from my doctor, this is OK and normal (though on the very edge of being too short) but I hope it doesn’t create any problems with TTC or PG. Sorry for all the details.:)
Jane – As I said in the other thread, sorry to hear about AF. How upsetting.:(
ETA: I am on day 1 of my 2 WW. We are going on Vacation Friday for 9 days, so hopefully that will make the wait more bearable!:)

06-27-2005, 08:23 AM
Welcome Jenn. :)
this site is not related to WC. Katysabrat and her DH set it up for us to chat on. So its full of people from the WC but is not affiliated with WC. Its a brand new chat site for us WC refugees who just can't stomach the new format.
anyway, thanks. I was in quite a pissy mood yesterday - just mad at the world b/c I can't seem to get pregnant and its not fair. Today I am tired and defeated. ugh, I am not enjoying this roller coaster ride!
ETA: hope you have an awesome vacation!

thanks boilermaker - its such a double whamee when she hits - not only am I once again not pregnant, I also feel like crap b/c it feels like someone took my uterus out back and beat the crap out of it. :(
Oh well, it gives us one more month to get things done around the house. I have two more chances at this before DH and I have to decide if we're going to take a month off from trying to avoid being due right after his sister's wedding (its only 90min away so we won't have to fly but that seems a bit far to travel if I could possibly be about ready to go into labor - fast labors run in my family).
lowcountrywed
06-27-2005, 10:05 AM
What do you guys avoid during the 2WW? Do you treat it like you are pregnant or give yourself a little slack?
I don't really avoid much in that first week (since implantation wouldn't have occurred anyway), but the second week I'm a little more careful. What about everyone else?
Jane&Andy

I just updated the first post to include a member's list. Please check to make sure I didn't mess up your info as I was copying and pasting and organizing. :)

lowcountrywed - I don't do much different during the 2WW. I cut back on my caffeine consumption before TTC but haven't cut it out completely. I still drink alcohol, just in moderation. I'm not sure what OTC pain relievers are ok to take when PG so I've been avoiding those.

Hi all!
Just joining here:
Me: 31
DH: 32
TTC since MC in Dec ' 04
I'm currently charting in a half ased mode to be honest. Its been too difficult and stressful with all the work travelling I do, This month we're not really "trying" just seeing what happens I guess, My original due date before my MC was early July so I'm trying not to dwell on it because I could see myself getting depressed that I haven't gotten PG yet and I'm trying to stay positive.
sending everyone lots of good vibes and baby dust!
ETA: That we've been seeing an RE for the past few months and that if we don't get PG in the next two months we're discussing fertility drugs and an IUI
looty
06-27-2005, 01:50 PM
Jane-- I'm sorry to hear that AF found you. I can only imagine how you are feeling. When we weren't even trying but I was late and hoping I was pretty disappointed when I wasn't PG. I'm sure I am going to drive myself crazy when I am in the 2ww.
I haven't had a 2ww yet but I think that as others have said I have already cut down on caffiene and alcohol. I will probably just be more aware of what I drink or medicines I take.
Since this is going to be my first cycle off bcp I was wondering if any of you could give me an idea of what to expect throughout my cycle and AF. I would appreciate anything. I am most worried about bad cramps because I used to get them pretty bad but now they aren't bad at all. I would love to hear anyone else's experience (sorry if it's a bit off topic).

Welcome jrsygirl. :)
Looty - so far my periods have not been quite as bad as they used to be before I went on the pill. I used to get terrible cramps and I would throw up for them and that hasn't happened to me yet since i've been off the pill. I don't feel any different off it either - no weight changes, no affects on my mood or libido.

Jane -- Thanks for the info. I am glad to hear that the cramps aren't nearly as bad. I used to throw up from mine too. Unfortunately for me and my mom I puked once in the middle of my sister's white coat ceremony (where med students get their coats). I couldn't get out of the row but luckily my mom had a bag and some tisses. Although I didn't get to puke in the bag.

Morning all. Still waiting on AF here. I'm trying to avoid getting my hopes up that she will be a no-show. I'm quite proud of myself for not testing yet. Decided I wanted to wait to see if she shows today and if not, I'll pick up a test tonight for tomorrow morning. Last month my cycle was only 24 days, but I'm normally 26. If I make it through today I surpass the 26 mark. I think that's sufficient for testing. Really no feelings either way....I feel like this month probably isn't it, but I've just really gotten used to telling myself that to try to minimize the inevitable disappointment. Guess I'll just plod through the world's longest day to see what happens.
Welcome to all the new folks as well! :)

looty - I'm sorry the cramps made you puke too - you're the first person I've ever talked to that puked from them too. I've only had once cycle since going off the pill (about 6 months ago) when I woke up feeling nauseous. I stayed home that day but the cramps and nausea actually cleared up quite quickly.

Jane-- Thanks for having sympathy. I have met one other person that it was that bad for too. I am glad that not many people have it that bad. Hopefully I'll be like you and not have that problem anymore.
Charissa-- Welcome and Happy Anniversary!!

Hey ladies! I am on day two of the fertile period (sorry, I'm still trying to learn the lingo!) and here's hoping that it happens!
DH was laughing at me last night. I asked him to go buy me a BBT thermometer and he says "why?" So I told him I wanted to chart my temp and his response?
"Can't we just get it on all time instead?"
What a funny guy.....

Looty-Thanks for the encouragement! I have been trying to decide if I should wait until later in the week to test or what. I have had cycles longer than 26 days before, but that is my average. Also, I usually don't vary by more than 2 days from month to month. So I *think* I may pick up a PG test (or 2) on the way home tonight for tomorrow morning. Of course, I'm sure as soon as I spend the money on the tests evil AF will show. We'll see! I'll post updates either way.
Either I'm really concocting fake symptoms or maybe I really am PG....pulling feeling in my stomach behind the belly button, periods of nausea before and after meals, sore throat (unrelated?) and super sore BBs. I guess we'll find out one way or another! :)

Hi Jen!!! I'll add you to the first post. :) Welcome to CC.
jaime - my fingers are crossed for you that you'll get a BFP soon. :)
I'm sorry Caroline. :( AF should learn to stay away, she's not welcome anymore!
I remembered to take my temp this morning. So I've officially begun charting. I'm just hoping to verify that I'm actually ovulating. And I think DH and I will start BDing a little early this time since my cycles tend to be on the short side. I don't think he'll argue about it. :p

awww, thanks ladies for the warm wishes. DH and I have already really celebrated our anniversary (went to Kauai last month and visited disneyland). But what would make a really make this an awesome anniversary is a BFP. hee2.
Is anyone else here a test-aholic? I know is HIGHLY unlikely that I'd get a BFP on 7-10 DPOs since my cycles are generally 30 days, but a girl can always hope right? :)
Anywho, DH asked if I was going to test in the AM - which would put me at 12DPO, but I don't want to see another BFN. If I keep this up for a few more cycles, we're gonna eat up our entire FSA fund buying HPTs. hahaha.
I'm trying to hold out till Friday then I'll be 14DPO, but we'll see. I don't know if I have that kind of will power, haha. :)
Good luck ladies!

Well, I was dumb and tested this morning...got a BFN. Oh well. I had a feeling it would be too good to be true. Based on my history, usually after a nice BFN I get AF that day. I guess we'll see. Its just SO disappointing b/c last night I would have sworn I was actually PG. Like I said before, my cycle has varied from 24-31, but mostly hits at 26. I am officially past 26 and onto 27. I used a FRER test so it seems like if I was PG it should have come up as at least a light line.
Oh well. Just wanted to update!

Welcome Ericka. :)
Charissa - I tested early during my first 2WW but after that decided to just wait it out and only test if AF was very late. But at that time I seemed to be having pretty consistent 26 day cycles so I got overexcited when I made it to 28 days that time.
Jaime - I'm sorry about the BFN. there's still hope!
Tomorrow I'll work on starting a July thread with all the helpful info that was on the WC thread. Then it will be open for posting Friday morning.
What is everyone doing for July 4th?
My Mom turns 60 on the 3rd so we're heading down to NC for the weekend to visit her. We'll leave Friday morning and by the time we get there my sister from Chicago will already be there with her DH and kids and my Aunt who I haven't seen since my wedding will be there. We're having a party for my Mom on Sunday and then heading home early Monday. I guess we'll go see the fireworks at the local baseball stadium that night.

CD21 here.
Does anyone find themselves squeezing their boobs during the 2ww to see if they are tender. Knowing, of course, that if you squeeze hard enough they will be tender no matter what. :D Anyone? Ok, maybe I'm a weirdo.
kcjaime- Sorry about the BFN, but it could still be too early. It's different for everyone. It ain't over until AF shows (hope she stays away!)
charissa - Happy Anniversary and welcome! I haven't decide whether I'm going to wait for AF or start testing early this cycle. I got pg in April (but had a m/c) and I got a BFP 10 DPO. I was forced to it early that time because I was supposed to have a mammogram. I won't think less of you if you test before Friday ;)
Welcome, Erika, jlp and any others I missed.

LOL!! I know I've done it. :D Thinking you have symptoms that probably aren't, is almost harder than actually seeing that BFN. It drives me nuts. Although, when it actually does happen, I have a feeling we'll DEFINITELY know. ;)

Hi all...Today is only CD17 for me so I have a long way to go. I have not been temping either so I am not sure if I O'd or not. So, it's really going to be a long wait.
Anyway, we are heading to Chicago for the 4th to see the in-laws and the great-grandparents. Should be fun...I am looking forward to it. We are not leaving until Saturday morning probably though...I'd rather leave Friday night but DH thinks there will be less traffic early Saturday morning. Jacob wakes at about 5 so that's pretty early.
Sorry for the BFN's...Did I miss any BFPs???
Looking forward to hte new thread. Thanks Jane!

Thanks for the encouragement about the BFN, all. The thing is, despite the BFN, I really still feel like I am PG. My BBs are SUPER SORE, I'm super sensitive to smells (guy's breath on the train this a.m. almost made me sick!). Honestly, do you all think I could still be PG and the test just isn't showing it yet? Maybe I'm grasping at straws. I guess all I can do is wait. If AF isn't here by Saturday I will probably use the other test that came in the box. Saturday seems like so far away! :(
BTW, I am also guilty of the boob thing. ;)
4th of July plans...we are going to Kansas City early saturday morning and staying until monday. Saturday night is an early 4th party at a friends house. Sunday is family stuff and working on getting our old house there ready to rent out. I am REALLY looking forward to going back to KC. I just moved to Alexandria, VA in March and I miss home!

lowcountrywed I'm sorry about the m/c. I admire your strength. I am staying at my parents tonight b/c I'm going to the Kelly Clarkson concert at the SD Fair, and I didn't bring a test with me, so that'll force me to not be able to test till Friday :D .
Jane&Andy I think I'm waaay overexcited too. Its just all so new to me. I keep remembering when DH and I were just dating, and before when we had HPTs, we were always hoping for BFNs, funny how different it is now.
CD 26, 12 DPO for me today. My shortest cycle was 27 and longest was 31 in the last 3 months, so mine vary a little bit. Still trying really hard to be patient... *sigh* :(
As for July 4th DH and I are headed to a BBQ at a friend/neighbor/cow-rkers house, him and his wife are due in September. I love hearing about all the baby prep. Then DH and I are off to Vegas on Saturday with my parents and hang out till Monday. Should be fun. Hopefully that'll take my mind off of testing, hee2.
Happy Wednesday everyone!!!!

Charissa I am actually from Omaha, NE and went to school in Missouri, which is where I met DH. I loved living in KC because it was close enough to home without being too close (3 hour drive). I guess I'm boring b/c while DC is cool, I would rather live in KC. I'm weird.
Hope the holiday distracts you from testing...anything helps!

Welcome ellidew and everyone else. I recognize many of you from the other thread!
As for the boobs, and the testing, I'm the oddball here. I would prefer that a real stork just dropped a little one off at my door versus me having to actually birth one, so I try to avoid all pregnancy signs. I go the "bury your head in the sand" route :)
As far as I can tell, all the BFNs still have a chance...a few days left in what will hopefully be your last cycle. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you. I think rather than testing in the morning, there should be a mass testing on the evening of the 4th so you can all get fireworks to celebrate the good news ;)
We're heading on vacation to Seattle/Orcas Island for the 4th. If any of you were on WC a really long time ago, you remember Fushia's wedding. Ever since I saw her pics, I have been wanting to visit Orcas Island. I'm quite excited about it. Hopefully I will also gain another nephew this weekend. My sister is at 38 weeks and miserable. She is being induced on the 7th if the baby doesn't come before then. So I'm wishing her a firecracker baby! They are estimating the baby to be over 8 lbs already and a 10 lber if she goes to 40 weeks. Eeeks!
For the Chicago travelers, have a blast! I love love love that city.

Wow! This thread is growing like a weed! Glad to see the *new* site catching on.
4th of July should be fun. We’re heading to Georgia this weekend for a family reunion at my dad’s and then on the 4th we’re flying to Myrtle Beach for vacation until Friday. Should be fun (and hopefully get my mind of the 2WW!)
As for the BB thing – I am totally guilty of this as well. That’s just funny cause I don’t even get sore BBs with AF.
I have been pouring over the FP threads on the other site and all over the web trying to find info for people with super short cycles. I don’t chart and don’t want to yet, yet I am spending so much time obsessing over this I may as well chart. I’m so confused cause with a 22/23 day cycle it doesn’t leave much room for anything and I’m curious how it works. I found a good short cycle thread on WC so we’ll see if it’s updated unless anyone here has similar experiences or a short cycle? I’m almost positive I O’d on Monday (felt the pains Sunday-Monday), but that was only 10CD. But that leaves a 13-14 luteal phase so I guess it is possible. Anyway, I guess I should just be patient and wait it out but that is easier said than done. Thank God we’re all in the same boat here.
*Gets off soapbox* (Sorry for the rant, I’m feeling stressed today):)
Jane – Thanks for maintaining these threads! Hopefully there will be a link here to follow to the new thread as I won’t be back from vacation until 7/11? Hope to see lots of BFPs when I get back! Maybe I’ll have one to share as well? (fingers crossed)
Welcome dionysia, jrsygirl, looty, it’s a bug, mobox, seapod, charissa, jlp, Erika_jerrit, ellidew and any others I missed.

My cycles tend to be on the short side too - I just started charting yesterday. its not much effort so far, I'm hoping to verify that I ovulate every month and when.
Charissa -
" know, I feel like the baby train came and left and I'm still standing at the station trying to get a ticket... "

Waiting should be a 4-letter word ;)

Charissa. You will have to shorten it to "wait"! :p You can shorten it to use in such catch phrases as "You wait!" or "Wait, you" or my personal favorite "wait a wait wait minute!" :D
We're finally not waiting and after all the waiting to not wait i sometimes second guess and think i want to wait. Waiting sucks.

Good morning, all. Sounds like everyone has fun weekend plans for the holiday. I know I am excited! Too bad the week is dragging leading up to the weekend! It is finally thursday, though.
Re: Chicago, I am definitely excited. It will be a fun girls weekend in a fun city!
Ghiradellis---yum. Never had their ice cream, but I can only imagine how good it is! ;)
Well, wanted to update on my situation. Still no AF. If I make it through today that would be 28 days. I have only gone past 28 once, and that was my lone 31 day cycle over a year ago. So today feels pretty significant. Also, BBs are even more sore today than they were yesterday. Definitely feeling the queasiness and lack of appetite, too. Weighed myself yesterday before going to the gym (for the first time in two weeks :o ) and I had lost 3 pounds.....I can only figure that its b/c I've been eating less due to a loss of appetite. I have pretty much stopped snacking and I am a huge snacker, and its been a struggle to find anything that sounds good for a meal. Last night I managed to eat a small turkey sandwich and some pickles. :)
So I'm still just waiting. Hopefully work will keep me busier to distract me from the importance of today. Guess we'll see!
Happy thursday to all!

But, now CM seems more like I’ve read it should be during O. Is it possible that I already O’d a few days ago and now this symptom is just something else? Anyone have any idea?

JennW - There are no stupid questions. The one thing i have found out about ttc is that just about anything is possible. There are so many factors. i'll keep my fingers crossed that you got it right!
mobox - I ordered my bbt from drugstore.com I bought this one:
http://a1468.g.akamai.net/f/1468/580/1d/pics.drugstore.com/prodimg/40512/200.jpg
I have seen them lately at Target and i don't ever remember seeing them before but it is possible i just wasn't looking before. They were in the aisle with the Tampons/pads, condoms, etc... HTH
The nice thing about the bbt and charting is that is takes out a little of the guesswork although you are still pretty much guessing! I haven't charted in 2 months and am completely lost! Last months cycle was 41 days! I am currently at cd33. I had normal 28 day cycles until last month!
