Anyone else excited about Martha's new daytime show? It starts on September 12th and her first guest will be Marcia Cross (Desperate Housewives). Later in the week she'll have David Spade and Jay Leno.
I love Martha (always have - always will) I hope there are others out there that feel the same... if anything, I'm sure she'll give us lots to chat about. :)
Here's her interview on the Today (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3032633/?ta=y) show this morning.

I'm not sure what I think about it. I think I'll have to watch. I didn't like her other show cause it was a bit out of the realm of things I would do. Many of the recipes had things in them I had never heard of and such. I will have to stay tuned to the new one!

From what I've heard this show is geared more like a "talk show" instead of a "how-to" show... and they said it's live so that should be interesting - we might actually see Martha make a mistake :p The synopsis of today's show says in addition to Marcia Cross she is going to 2 'viewers' homes for dinner. Could you imagine having Martha Stewart over for dinner? I don't think I could take the pressure! ;)
I watched a bit of it this morning and I have to see that, in general, I enjoyed it. I've always thought that she's been kinda stiff/uptight/monotone (even though I like her) but what little I saw, she was pretty likeable and even quite funny. When she was at the viewers' home for dinner, the guys were showing her how to play some (Italian, I think) card game. She said something along the lines of "I learned how to play lots of card games in prison, but this one I don't know". bwhahahahaha...
Hopefully I can catch the full show tomorrow w/ David Spade. :)

LOL - Glad to hear she's keeping it real :)

I loved how she came out first and just kind of acknowledged the ankle bracelet thing in a funny way.
I definitely enjoyed it, but I really LIKE her, so it's not like I needed any convincing. Looking forward to the other episodes.
ETA - the folding the t-shirt thing was so helpful. Now I'll be able to fold DH's t-shirts without the line down the center. Hmm, since he currently folds his own, maybe I should keep that secret to myself. ;)

I loved this morning's show! I learned to fold a shirt like that :) It took me awhile to figure it out! Now that I am a SAHM I am excited to learn few tips and tricks from Martha.

Just watched the show - loved it :)
I had to pause and call DH to the room for a shirt folding lesson! He played along and may actually use this technique! Anything is better than his current t-shirt folding method where he holds the sleeves out while he BITES the collar to fold it in half longways! oy vey
DH stayed and watched the rest of the show with me - he said he was so surprised to see Martha with a sense of humor - I thought she was great!
It appears that I'm the only one who didn't like it. I don't feel like I learned anything useful. (I'd already learned the folding thing.)
How long do you think she's going to make prison jokes?

Hmm, yeah, I don't know... I'm already a little sick of her 'how to be martha in prison' stuff - I can see a joke here and there but today's show was kind of irritating.

I enjoyed it -- thought it was pretty cute. Even though she seemed a little awkward in spots (I think it's silly to have her interviewing celebs as if she's Jay Leno or something), I think she'll get more comfortable as she goes along. I really liked the part where she went into the home for dinner -- it was fun to see their big feast.
I hope she'll still have some experts on, though, and not just celebrities who have no clue what they're doing.

I really enjoyed it. I loved her other show because it was "perfect"...but this one is more down to earth. These are things I can do. I don't have to call all over grocery stores out of town to find a certain ingredient like a cheramoya.
I like how she's making jokes and talking about her prison time. She's owning it and not trying to sweep it under the rug and make it disappear. If you laugh at yourself first, no one can make you feel bad by laughing at you.
I was amazed at that speed crocheter today! I STILL can't fold the shirt (I even looked it up on-line)--it comes out backwards!

ME EITHER! :( I missed the folding part yesterday but glad she showed David how to do it today...but by the time I went upstairs to try it out, I forgot how she did it. Oh well, guess I'll have to just fold *my* way.

Martha put the directions on her website :p
Here are the directions (http://www.marthastewart.com/page.jhtml?type=content&id=stv100015&layout=martha) to "Folding A La Martha" :)

I liked it, I thought Martha was really relaxed and trying to (subtly) acknowledge the help she gets to run the show (i.e. the chefs in the kitchen).
Isn't the set of her new show to die for? I love that kitchen!!

The kitchen is to die for. And the color-coded craft room... don't even get me started. ;)
her kitchen IS fabulous. It is actually modeled after her kitchen at home.
thanks for the link teresa2mike! I'll check it out and see if I can do it again!
