Sunday September 4 - Saturday October 29
7 Weeks

http://www.ourladyofweightloss.com/images/motiv_halloween2003.jpg

Who we are:

We are a group of women who for 1 reason or another want to shed a few (or more) lbs. We need the encouragement of others no matter their size or goal and we thrive in an atmosphere where we can all support one another.

Your threadmistresses for this thread are ellidew AND Mom2Cole! Feel free to Email Us! (wl.challenge@gmail.com)

Want to join the fun?!?

We welcome one and all. It doesn’t matter what diet you are on (if any) or how many miles a week you run (if any) we will all find lots of help and support here.

Feel free to join at any time during the challenge.
It’s better to join NOW than to wait until we start a new challenge! ;)

You don’t have to read the whole thread to join. Feel free to just jump in on the last page and post a reply with the following information. None of this info is a must but it helps to learn a little bit about each other.

Our week will run Sunday-Saturday.
Week 1 will start on Sunday September 11.
If you join after this date your current weight will be the
weight you started with no matter the week and the
weeks you were not here will be SKIPped.

A new challenge will be created at the end of the active challenge! A link to the new thread will be placed at the end of each challenge once it is completed.

PLEASE post all updates in RED and include the week you are checking in for so your updates are easier to see and to assure we don't miss any of them! Thanks!

Mom2Cole- I am going to put your weigh in weight today as your starting weight that way we are all on the same week cycle. (if that's okay with you. Otherwise i can list it as -week 1 or something... let me know what you think!) Good luck with your weigh in! I'm sure you did great! :D

Wanted to say WELCOME to everyone! This is going to be fun and i am looking forward to seeing our progress each week. I can't wait to weigh in next week! So far so good on the diet and i am feeling better about myself everyday. When i was in a rut and just didn't know WHAT to do i was so down. I am usually a confident person and just didn't know what to do differently. I am going to keep on with the personal trainer twice a week and i have already paid for la weightloss and that gets me through next May(?) with the exception of buying some diet bars, etc... each week.

I am VERY motivated right now but am going to probably need a pick me up pep talk down the road!

This is going to sound so cliche but in highschool i was a size 6 (well it was between a 4-6 but the 4 was short lived). I am horrified to say that i currently wear between an 18-22. AHHHHH :eek:Shopping is NOT fun... i don't even know where to find clothes and nothing fits right. i HATE that more than anything. The second thing i hate the most is seeing myself in pictures. I used to love being in pictures and now i try to hide from the camera or hide behind something or someone. Don't even get me started on mirrors.

amberfiddles- I need the motivation too! Actually this gives me two spots to check in. At the center and with all of you. The more people that hold me accountable the better. Truthfully, i haven't told anyone but dh that i am even on a diet. I don't want anyone to see me fail and i don't want to be asked about it by my mom or sisters.
Good for you joining weight watchers. They have a great program. I did great on it when i did it! lol. My biggest issue was getting lost in the crowd. I didn't feel motivated and i didn't really feel like mattered. Probably a personal and or individual center problem. I have to check in at the la weightloss center once a week and they only have 4 people on staff so i will see the same faces all the time. For me, this might work better. I still love the weight watchers program though.
I eat out of habit. I don't even have to be bored. I know i am not hungry when i do it and i still do it anyway. I usually tell myself that next time i have to resist and still never do. It's a nasty little cycle.

KRM&TPS- I feel the same way as you do. 200 wasn't that long ago (only a couple of weeks since i have put on 15-20 lbs in like 6 weeks - my trainer calls it muscle . I remember 170... stupid reason too. 170 is the point where i was lying in bed one night and remember feeling that little roll of fat on my side. WHY! didn't i get motivated then i will never know!

TX Sweetheart- You got married on my birthday! :D Which is also the day Princess Diana and Prince Charles got married. (you probably knew that one though). Try and stick with us you don't have far to go to get to your goal. I have heard that the least amount of weight or the last few lbs is always the hardest. You can do it though!

jennylou- I hear ya on throwing our actual weight out there but then i decided we are all in the same boat and all want the same thing for ourselves and each other so, what the heck! WAY TO GO on the Labor Day Weight Loss Challenge - You did awesome! That's incredible. I am glad you have maintained it over the last 2.5 weeks. I can't wait to see how well we all do on this challenge and the next and i am SO excited i don't know what i will do when someone gets to their final weight loss goal... or even when someone gets to their Halloween challenge goal! It's going to be so exciting, i know we can all do it! I may need a pep talk every know and then though.

Mom2Cole- I am so glad you came and joined. Even though i didn't get to join the Labor Day Weight Loss Challenge just reading it got me motivated. Do you want to co-threadmistress this group thread with me?

MLA- You'll get those 4 lbs off no problem. When are you moving to North Carolina? I typically eat the worst when we travel, do you have far to go to get there? Luckily on our Labor Day Weekend trip i didn't gain any weight and actually lost 3-4 lbs from last weeks weigh in. I ate mostly salads though and veggie wraps, etc... Sounds like you have been doing great on just keeping track of intake and exercising. Congrats on losing the first 8lbs.

Mrs.B716- Let me know when you get your starting weight and i will update your profile. I am not a big ice cream eater but my mom is... she used to come home at night and measure 1/2 cup of light ice cream into a measuring cup and eat it right out of there with a spoon... it wouldn't surprise me if she licked the cup when she was done! ;)

catch- I would venture to bet we all have issues with sticking to it. I know i do! At 150 i said, i need to diet. At 170 i said, i need to diet. At 200 i said, i need to diet. It wasn't until 220 something i really grabbed a hold of it and said, I HAVE TO DIET! Actually at 200 i hired a personal trainer but i gained and lost motivation. I still go to him twice a week though. We can do this... we just have to stick together!

boilermaker- I am sure we have all heard that we should shop around the outside of the grocery store. Fresh and frozen fruits and vegetables and non processed foods. It's hard! I am finding it increasingly difficult because i am a vegetarian. I have noticed i am getting almost zero sugar each day (well sugar like high fructose corn syrup, etc...). I don' t know if this will help you or anyone else but here is what i am supposed to take in daily:

2 Proteins
4 Vegetables
3 Fruits
2 Starches
1 Dairy
1 Fat
2 Soy Protein Products (they are LA Lites but i am sure weight watchers or slim fast makes similar products)

My book outlines the exact portions, etc... but that would take hours to type up! :p

any tips for keeping willpower of the wkds? or at dinner w/ friends, etc?
I have no idea. I need the same advice. We eat at the inlaws once a week. I can't control what they make. Last night we had veggie lasagna, garlic bread, and a salad. I ate the salad with mandarin oranges on it and a little raspberry dressing then i had 1 2x2 inch piece of garlic bread and a 3x3 (4x4?) piece of lasagna then i skipped dessert (i did have 1 small bite of dh's though). I guess its all in moderation? Dh told me to just bring my own food but that is rude. Plus, then i would have to explain why i am doing that. He then suggested we have them over every other week that way i know i can eat dinner! I liked that plan.

I have heard it's a good idea to eat something (diet-ish) before going out to dinner or to someone else's house for dinner because then you wont eat as much. I haven't tried it though and can't say that it does or doesn't work. It may still come down to will power. I have also heard that you should bring a dish you can eat and not feel guilty about. If you are a dessert person then bring a low fat/cal dessert. I am interested to hear other peoples ideas though... maybe something they know works for them.

Question of the Day: What are you looking forward to the most after losing your total goal weight?

For me it would be hard to narrow it down to 1 but i guess most of them are vanity issues, pictures, mirrors, etc... The main reason is dh. Without sounding too sappy- I look forward to dh looking at me and wanting me if you know what i mean. ;)

The thing I will look most forward to is feeling healthy. I feel totally unhealthy. Especially since I have been watching Celebrity Fit Club. It just ended and they all look so great. I know if I was in front of that panel of experts they would have a field day with me. It motivated me to buy the Boot Camp DVD that they sell only $14.95. Im waiting to get it. Im sure it will kick my butt.

But Ellidew I hear you on the vanity thing. I want to like myself in pictures again.

Oh and maybe the fact that I have a big bag of clothes from when I got down to 170. I would love to wear those again....... is that posssible :(

July 29th is also the day Brad Pitt & Jennifer Aniston got married...

Question of the Day: What are you looking forward to the most after losing your total goal weight?

A) Being able to fit into cuter clothes!
B) taking new wedding photos (I absolutely hated all of my wedding pictures, because I hated the way I looked in them :()

Hey you!! I weighed in this morning at 183 even! :) Not a huge loss, but I will definitely take it since I totally pigged out last weekend (eating out EVERY night) and when I weighed myself on Monday I was 188!!! So, I shed those 5 pounds since Monday, which is awesome!! =o)

Question of the Day: What are you looking forward to the most after losing your total goal weight?

There are a few things I am looking forward to, the first being when people that haven't seen me in forever finally see me and the shocked look on their faces!! I am already getting compliments from people who haven't seen me in a year and I have lost 30 pounds since then! I can't wait to drop the other 30!!! =o)

Secondly, when I met my husband, I weighed in at 184...so he has never know me "thin". His class reunion is coming up next summer, so I want to look good and not be the "fat wife"!! LOL!!

Lastly, I CAN'T WAIT to start buying cutsie outfit's!! For the last, oh, three years, I have been a size 20...so I am loving the fact that I can now fit in to a size 16 and they are still a bit baggy on me!! =o) I bought a size 12 jeans (cause Old Navy was having an awesome sale) and I can't wait until I can finally button those!!! I am loving the way my clothes feel and I can't imagine what I will feel like when I am at my goal weight!!!

We're moving from Los Angeles to NC, but luckily DH's company's paying for everything (including shipping our car) so at least we won't have to drive -- it's really hard to eat well on the road. We move at the end of September, which is why I'm giving myself a few weeks after that as sort of a buffer. We'll see how well I maintain once I'm in NC. I hope I can resist eating chicken 'n' dumplings and fried okra everyday! ;)

Thanks for the congrats. Actually, if I don't end up losing the last 4 lbs, I'll still be happy. I'm actually pretty satisfied with my weight right now, but those last few lbs will help. :)

Question of the Day: What are you looking forward to the most after losing your total goal weight?

Definitely just looking better and wearing cuter clothes :D I love clothes and it sucks when I can't wear things I love because they look awful on me. I spend most of my summers in jeans and skirts instead of shorts and minis. I refuse to wear tank tops and haven't worn a bathing suit in years. I want to feel more confident and happy with myself. It's gotten to the point where I dread going to visit one of my aunts because she's always ragging on me about my weight. And she's like a mother to me and thinks she's doing it for my own good but her comments just ruin the entire visit for me. I'd love to be able to visit her and not have the size of my butt be a topic of conversation. I'm pretty comfortable in my skin but she makes me feel like an insecure teenager all over again. And it's funny that my goal weight is the weight in which she started to rag on me about my weight. But in hindsight, that was the most perfect weight for me. I was healthy, not scrawny. I'm 5'6 and have an hourglass figure. I will never weigh 100 pounds. I've come to terms with that. So I just want to be and look like the healthiest version of myself.

I was OP all week long and am feeling good already. For fun, I went shopping yesterday and bought lots of cute stuff. I currently wear a very tight size 12. I'd like to comfortably fit in my clothes. My weight could go up or down 20 pounds and I still fit in a size 12, it's just that sometimes I can breathe and sometimes I can't :D Right now, I can breathe, but it's tight. The clothes I bought will fit a lot better when I lose 5 pounds. So I'm using that as a motivation to stay OP this week and the next week and the next...

I hope everyone had a good weekend :)

Well, how did everyone fair over the weekend? I didn't do too badly. Saturday i didn't go off my diet but i didn't get all my allowances in either and in the middle of the night i felt hungry and snacked. BAD! Sunday i got in almost all my allowance except maybe for 1/2 of a dairy but i felt better and wasn't hungry. I do better during the week because i make my breakfast and lunch the night before and dinner is already bought and planned. It makes it a lot easier! I will check in again tonight at the center but on friday i was down a few tenths of a pound (only from wed. - fri. since they weigh us 3 times a week I am eager to get below the 218 mark since i was right on the money on Friday. Hey, every little bit counts!

catch- Good for you buying yourself some new clothes. I definitely look forward to fitting into and feeling comfortable in some trendy clothes... although i will never be in a mini. :p

MLA- I will definitely be checking out that website today! I'll put it in the useful info thread as well so it's easy to find. Thanks! Your trip sounds like it should go smoothly. It's nice that someone else is paying for it!
I LOVE fried okra!

Mom2Cole- Way to go on the loss! Heck i celebrated only a few tenths of a pound and i was happy! I'll email you with the info for the thread! Thanks so much for helping out!

KRM&TPS- You and me both! Actually i have large rubbermaid containers marked small (4-8) med (10-12) and large (12-16/18). Sad, huh? All those clothes just thrown to the side!

TX Sweetheart- So sorry about your wedding photos. I have many regrets from my wedding as well. Dh and i plan to renew our wedding vows somewhere down the road. Maybe our 10th anniversary. We are up to 3!

Our week will run Sunday-Saturday. Week 1 started on Sunday September 11, so weigh in's for week one would need to be entered by Saturday, September 17th. :) Since you just started today, week one would be left blank and your next weigh in will be entered in week 2.

Well, how did everyone fair over the weekend?

This weekend was the first time in a LONG time that I actually stayed on plan the whole weekend!! With the exception of the "cheat day" I give myself once a week, which was yesterday's dinner out! ;)

I didn't, however, get any exercise in since I have been sick and wanted to work on getting better instead of wearing myself out and this sore throat hanging around for longer! :o

Hope you all have a wonderful week!!!

hi y'all... once I could eat, I did pretty well over the weekend LOL... I was sick until sometime Saturday night, when I ate about 1/2 a bowl of chicken & dumplings and then yesterday I ate two bowls of Special K (the one with the strawberries) and some tomato soup.

And I just weighed myself, and I lost 1/2 a pound!!

So my weigh-in is Starting Weight: 200.5 lbs -.5 lb= 200 lbs. Current Weight

I went to a NE Ohio CC GTG on Saturday at the Cheesecake Factory. The scale didn't move up this week, but it certainly didn't go down.

I am looking forward to wearing cuter clothes. I'd really love it if I could be down to the XL in maternity by the time I get pregnant again. So much more selection if I can just make it to that point.

great job so far everyone!
:)

i was stressing this wkd b/c i had to attend a close friends wedding and it was out of town so i knew it would be hard to stay in line. i saved up my 35 flex points for the wkd and did fine! i used all my flex and didn't go over.

i'm just starting to realize that i can eat a smaller portion and still be full.

another QOTD---how often do you exercise?
i usually try to go to the gym at least 3x/wk, although its sometimes hard to drag myself out of bed in the mornings.

ellidew
09-12-2005, 12:21 PM
QOTD: I go to the gym twice a week and meet with a personal trainer for an hour on each day. It's hard for me to get out of bed too especially since the alarm clock goes off at 5:30 on these days! It costs a fortune too! I have to buy more sessions at the end of this week and i don't know how i am going to convince dh that it's a necessity not a want. I ONLY go to the gym because i know someone is there holding me accountable... same with my weightloss meetings at la weightloss, 3 days a week someone is holding me accountable. I have a team of experts helping me lose weight this time. :p I obviously can't do it on my own or i would've done it over 3 years ago and would'n't have continued to gain! I tell myself i am going to go to the gym on other days without the trainer but i rarely do which is why i know i need him! He's not exactly hard on the eyes either if you know what i mean ;)

amberfiddles: Same here on the smaller portions! Actually, i am finding it hard to eat the amount of food i am supposed to in one day! For once in my life i went to the grocery store and spent the most time in the fresh produce/fruit section and only need like 5 other things in the store! It was weird. Dh got bored and went to the liquor section to browse. :D

AirForceLove: Good job sticking to the ww program. I love the lime chile corn from weight watchers that you put on the grill!

jennylou: hope you had fun at the gtg! I think i am the only person on the planet that has never been to cheesecake factory. It's probably best i don't start now! As is we have an out of town guest in thursday night and we are going out to dinner! I am going to have to use lots of self control since the portions you get in restaurants could theoretically feed a family of 5!

TX Sweetheart: Hope you are feeling better! I have heard from a lot of people they are sick. Must be that time of year! I am not looking forward to my yearly cold. Glad you lost though!

Mom2Cole: Good for you! Weekends are my downfall too. I don't have a cheat day figured in though but i am saving up things i want to eat. Like pizza, big bowl of pasta, an awesome dessert, etc... So far so good though and i haven't veered off the diet.

Welcome AirForceLove! Good luck with weight watchers! Looking forward to watching your progress.

Also get exercise when I clean the apartment (which honestly isn't often enough)...

QOTD - I don't exercise as much as I could. I usually try to get some walks in during lunch, strolls, not powerwalks unless I'm running errands. I should be working out in the mornings. We have our little home gym set up and ready to go. It's just so hard to get out of bed. Now that I'm in school, I really need to go to bed earlier and hopefully that'll help me wake up earlier too. I'd like to aim for 30 minutes every morning. Once I start skipping days, I just quit altogether. I need routine in order to stick to something.

QOTD---how often do you exercise? I haven't been exercising at all!! However my husband & I just joined the YMCA and had our first workout this afternoon. We are doing nautilus training 3x per week and cardio at least 3-5x per week. We met with a trainer today who gave us lots of great information. We also played basketball for about half an hour which was a workout in itself. I am sore to say the least, but I feel so great after being so active. I think it will be great to work out with my hubby so we can support eachother, although he's in awesome shape already. :)

Our week will run Sunday-Saturday. Week 1 started on Sunday September 11, so weigh in's for week one would need to be entered by Saturday, September 17th. :) Since you just started today, week one would be left blank and your next weigh in will be entered in week 2.

Question: I plan to do my weigh-ins on Saturdays. So, my first weigh-in would be Saturday, September 17th, right? Just want to be sure I've got it right.

Answer to QOTD: I excercise a lot -- at least 3 days a week, usually 5 days a week (sometimes 6). I run, take step and spinning classes, and try to get in some weight-training as well. I'm sort of an addict. If I go for more than 2 days w/o excercising, I start to feel kind of crappy.

I also weigh on Saturday, so my first weigh will be this Saturday.

QOTD---how often do you exercise? Lately it seems like twice a week would be a fair average. However, I just started following WW a few weeks ago, so I plan to exercise more (4-5x per week).

You both got it right. If you weigh in on saturday then your first week weigh in will be this saturday. I weigh in on fridays so you wont be left on your own at the end of each week!

Last night i stopped at la weight loss. I stop there on mon, wed, and fri's on my way home from work to weigh in, check progress, get tips, etc... and i was - 2 lbs from last friday so i am anticipating an awesome weigh in come this friday! I am very excited. This makes for 5 lbs so far in 2 weeks. So far so good! I even resisted eating anything at the baseball game last night although i am going to have nachos at the next game we have tickets to (St. Louis Cardinals). Kind of my homage to busch stadium which is being torn down at the end of the POST :D season!

how often do you exercise?

I usually exercise daily, but this week has been an exception, since I am battling a fierce cough and the loss of my voice! :o So, I have been concentrating on getting better and not wearing myself down.

I usually walk atleast 4-5 days a week, do the elliptical 2-3 days a week, and workout on the CORE ball daily. :D

When you go out to eat how do you decide what you are going to eat?

I usually check out my handy dandy WW restaurant guide!! :D I also stick to salad's with reduced fat or low fat dressings, grilled chicken with veggies, and sometimes a plain burger with no bun and some veggies. :) Some menu's even have a healthy section of the menu and a lot of times I order from there. ;)

QOTD #1
I haven't been as good about excercising the last few months as i should have been. DH and I have started working out more ( not that BD'ing isn't a workout ;) ) mostly walking and some ab work at our apt complex gym. Only 3 times per week right now due to work schedules.

QOTD #2
When we go out to eat I figure how hungry I am at the time and when I will eat again. Then I check the low fat or grilled selections and pick something from there.

QOTD---When you go out to eat how do you decide what you are going to eat?
Well, ideally i know ahead of time and can plan my entire day accordingly and if i want to splurge on something i will. I love trying new restaurants but we go on a night off so i don't feel guilty. If we are just doing a light lunch or a we don't feel like cooking dinner I stick to the chain restaurants that seem to be catering to every diet ever talked about these days! Applebees has a weight watchers menu. O'Charleys has a rice and vegetable steamer (limit yourself to 1 sweet roll!) Ruby Tuesdays has a salad bar and a eat smart menu. I always omit french fries because dh always has a few left i can eat. I replace them with a salad (I also do low fat/fat free dressing) or vegetables or even fruit. I admit it's hard and i am learning self control!

Dan's*Girl- WELCOME! Hope you reach your goal. Stick with us, we'll talk you down! ha ha.

Thanks Mom2Cole- I keep thinking maybe it was just because I was wearing different clothes or something. I will be back there tonight though and i am wearing jeans so it if it still off then i am on the right track! Keeping fingers crossed!

Funny story: Okay it's not really funny but i was really proud of myself. I was sitting at a stop light yesterday and saw a starbucks with a drive thru. I totally made an a-line for it and had my mouth watering over a Caramel Apple Cider (it was rainy and cool(er than 90) yesterday). I pulled into the parking lot and a light bulb went on in my head - bling! I was like "i can't drink that, can you imagine the calories and the sugar content and oh god the whipped cream and caramel, ew..." I turned around and left without my caramel apple cider but i was smiling ear to ear about my new found self control.

ellidew, that's awesome! Good for you! It's amazing how sometimes you just go through the motions of eating (or wanting to eat) without even realizing what you're doing. I've had to stop myself at times too. Sometimes I walk into McD's and I'm about to order my fave meal (fish sandwich w/ff and a coke) and instead, I have to tell myself "just get the grilled chicken salad, you'll be ok", :D

QOTD---When you go out to eat how do you decide what you are going to eat?

Usually it depends on what I've had during the day. If I know we're going to go out, I'll budget points throughout the week. If it's a last minute thing, I'll try to watch pts during the day and use my flex points to supplement. Sometimes I'll even add a walk during my lunch hour to give me extra points. If I'm craving something in particular, I usually let myself have it and watch portions and alternate rice for vegetables or try to make some sort of exchange to make my meal more healthy. I also avoid the alcohol and drink lots of water. Avoid the bread basket. FH and I share the dessert.

It's tough not just ordering your usual favorite, but it's worth it if you can make simple changes to make your favorite meal healthier than it was before.

Oooh.. good question!

QOTD: We are having potato pancakes (my portion is 1/2 potato shredded then mashed with onion salt and pepper and a pinch of baking powder then fried like a pancake until browned in 1 tsp oil) with 1/2 c. unsweetened apple sauce and 1 vegetarian bratwurst. (dh's potato pancakes wont be measured and he can have as many as he wants and i wont measure the oil to fry them in. He will also have regular meat bratwurst!)

On my diet it works out to be 1 starch, 1 vegetable, 1 fruit, 1 fat and 1 protein. I eat good on my diet! ha ha. I can do anything i want with the list of foods i have. I am getting creative too. This weekend i am going to have french toast! Of course not drowned in syrup but i am going to warm some strawberries with some splenda and put that on top with fat free cool whip. I can't believe i am losing weight like this! ha ha.

Morning ladies! I checked in at the center last night on my way home and i was down another 1.25ish lbs. I had jeans on for the first time (usually capris but the weather is turning) First i weighed with my shoes on (i usually take them off) and it was exactly the same so i took my shoes off. At some point i am going to break even with the winter clothes. I just didn't want it to happen so soon! :D

In other news. Last night when dh and i were laying in bed talking i asked him what i get when i get to my goal and he asked me, what do you want? I told him i want a new wedding ring, the one from Tiffanys that i have had my eye on. We didn't really go too in depth about it though. I should reach my goal just shy of our 4th wedding anniversary. I know dh... if i get to my goal he will be more than happy to buy it for me!

This is the one i have been eyeing:
http://www.tiffany.com/images/diamond/photo/combination_legacy_ring.jpg

So, new QOTD: What are you going to reward yourself with when you reach your final weight loss goal?

On top of the big reward i will definitely be buying new clothes too.

I can't wait to get to my goal. I know i am losing quite a bit fairly quickly up front and that it will slow down especially with the holidays fast approaching ;) but so far so good. I am really motivated this time around. I HAVE to lose the weight. I don't feel good about myself, i have to wear a swimsuit on our cruise in February AND i want a baby and DON'T want to be pregnant weighing 200+ lbs!

Ellidew That is an amazing ring! WOW! Great job on the weight loss, keep it going. We are behind you all the way :D

QOTD~
When I reach my goal weight not only am I going to buy new clothes, but I will FINALLY get into the recording studio and make the cd that I have been aching for for years. Also I'm going to have new professional head and full body shots done for my portfolio. I was joining the opera program at my university when I got sick and had to leave school. The weight has creeped on, and while opera singers can be fat and ok, my vocal range has changed since I have more weight on my stomach and chest.
That was long winded answer.. sorry about that :)

Just a note:

Breakfast- Oatmeal bar
Snack- Cheese stick
Lunch-ham sandwich w/provolone, baked cheetos, water
Snack-Banana
Dinner-Grilled chicken sandwich and salad w/ ff dressing.

Have a great day ladies!

I am following Weight Watchers and get 28 points per day, plus activity points, plus flex points. I have been SO hungry lately, but I have also started exercising this week...spinning three days and weight training two days, which I think, it making me feel so hungry.

Here is today's meal plans:

Breakfast- strawberry smoothie
Snack- bagel with light cream cheese
Lunch-11oz baked potato with 2 tbsp of chili con queso
1st Snack-halloween pack of M&Ms
2nd Snack-lettuce, tomatoes, onion, cucumbers with 2tbsp of Kraft 1000 island
Dinner-3oz turkey burger, 2 slices of light white bread, onion, tomato, lettuce, ketchup, mustard, oven baked fries, iced tea

For working out, today was my weight training day, which last about 30 minutes. My muscles are SO sore!!

Dan's*Girl: That's a great goal. Keep up the good work!

bethnjim: I hate feeling hungry. I am sorry you have been having hungry days. The one thing i have not been on my diet so far is hungry. I have had to push myself on two days just to get all my allowances in. It's funny, when i was at weight watchers they said "it's okay to feel hungry, that just means your body is working to digest what you have already eaten" and at LA Weightloss they said "We don't want you to feel hungry, when you feel hungry is when you eat just to satisfy the hunger. You shouldn't feel hungry while on the diet." 2 totally different responses for hunger! Does WW still give freebie points for greens? Can you add a vegetable at lunch or dinner to help with the hunger but still stay in your points?

Thursday Meal Plan:

Breakfast: 3/4 cup egg beaters with 1oz Reduced Fat Cheese
Snack: LA Lite (Protein Bar)
Lunch: 1 Veggie Burger, 1/2 cup cauliflower mash (which includes 1/8 cup milk and 1/2 tbsp butter), 3/4 cup blueberries, 12 small strawberries, 1/4 cup cottage cheese, diet soda
Snack: LA Lite (Protein Bar)
Dinner: yellow rice with chimichurri sauce (Argentine Herb Salsa) and a fresh vegetable. I saved 3 out of 4 of my vegetable servings and both of my starch servings for dinner.
We are going out to dinner with some out of town family. I looked ahead on the menu though and planned accordingly ;)
Other: I have another fruit allowance and i measured out 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce and put cinnamon on it. I was going to eat it at breakfast but wasn't hungry after the eggs. I may eat it at lunch, at my snack, before dinner, i don't know but i have it to eat whenever i want it.

Activity: The trainer cancelled because he was sick. He called around 8pm so after dinner and everything at home dh and i settled in to watch House and the 2 hour season premier of Lost (re-run - we became Lost fans in the off season) We dvr's both of them so we watched house first then started watching Lost around 9:15. We were up until almost 11 and i didn't feel like getting up at 5:30 to go to the gym. I slept instead and was 15 mins late to work! Had to do my makeup at my desk. ha ha. Luckily i have a private office. :p

dan'sgirl, your goal is amazing. I really hope you reach it :)

QOTD: What are you going to reward yourself with when you reach your final weight loss goal?

Since I love clothes, that's definitely at the top of my list :D But the biggest reward for me once I reach my goal is to finally go and try on wedding dresses! I've been engaged for over a year and I haven't tried on not even one. I have a particular dress in mind and if I were to try that one on and look gross, I'd be heartbroken.

QOTD: What are you going to reward yourself with when you reach your final weight loss goal?

Too funny that you ask this today!! :p My hubby told me last night how "skinny" I look and he followed it up my telling me how proud he was of me sticking to this. He made me feel so awesome!! He said he loves me whatever weight I am (obviously...he married me at 208), but he looooves my new look!

I have been itching to go back to Hawaii, so he said when I get to my goal weight and I maintain within 10 pounds for a year...we are headed back!!! We plan on getting pregnant within that year, so he said when I get back to my pre-pregnancy weight, we will start planning!! I am soooo thrilled!! So I WILL be in Hawaii in 2008!!! :D

Well, when I reach my goal I have two rewards... my first is that my mom has promised to buy me a whole new wardrobe. My second, and the one I'm most excited about, is DH & I are going to get new "wedding" pictures done. I hated the ones taken at our wedding, but I dunno if we'll actually have pictures done in a wedding dress/tux or not... haven't thought that far ahead LOL But in the three years (1 married) that DH & I have been together, our wedding pictures are the only pro pics we have. Catch, that dress is gorgeous!

I don't really have any reward in mind for when I reach my goal weight. I guess my reward will be a healthier body. Maybe I'll go somewhere on vacation where I can wear a bikini.

This thread moves fast! I actaully have been tracking my daily diet in my journal, so I don't need to post it here. But I think it really helps, not just to write everything down, but to put it in a semi-public place.

WAY TO GO Mom2Cole! I am SO proud of you. Work your but off until the wedding. It will be worth it and you will feel so good about yourself. Keep up the good work and thanks for the support and keeping me accountable too! What a sweet thing your dh said. Keep working hard towards your goal it will be worth it!

boilermaker- That would be a great reward! We are taking a cruise in Feb and i will be about 3 months shy of my final weight loss goal. That would put me in the 170's (where Mom2Cole is now!). That was pretty much my honeymoon weight and i didn't feel comfortable in a swimsuit but i did wear them pretty much all week. Plus, that was on the upward climb... this time around i am going down so i am hoping it makes me more confident. Start planning now, you'll be at your goal before you know it!

TX Sweetheart- Awesome reward! It's going to be so much fun to collect. Maybe i should hit my mom up for a new goal. She told me the other day that she is proud of me for taking charge and that she thinks i am doing a great job. That was so nice to hear. So sorry you don't like your wedding pictures but what a great thing to look forward to doing. you could do some with your wedding dress and some without. Just get your hair done in a way that it's loosely up or half up or whatever then let it down for the more casual pictures.

catch: What a gorgeous dress! What a fun thing to look forward to! I couldn't wait to try on dresses when i got engaged! I don't know how you have resisted! The dress is going to be great and you are going to feel so happy in it knowing you have reached your goal. Good for you!
--------------------------------------------------

I AM dying to get to under the 200 mark! My goal for this challenge puts me at 203 but so far i have lost more than i have averaged. (i put my goal at 2 lbs a week). Heck for that matter i can't wait to get below 210 which i should hit monday or wednesday of next week! Even that's something to celebrate! I am so proud of all of us for sticking together and working so hard. So far there haven't been any gains and that is great! We are all moving in the same direction. Keep up the good work!

QOTD: What are your plans for the weekend?! Do you have any events going on that will make it hard to stick to your diet?! Any exercised planned?

Yes and no. I am co-hosting a bridal shower at my house this weekend for about 40-50 people. It is being catered and there will be cake, etc... I made my meal plan for saturday and have no intention of eating anything outside of that, even cake. I can taste 210 and don't want to screw it up! :D So far i have resisted for almost 2 weeks and to be perfectly honest if i eat all the food on my plan i am usually stuffed and don't want to eat anymore anyway! I haven't even wanted to cheat because i don't want to feel guilty afterwards. Pathetic, huh? It helps that it's only dh in the house because i threw away all sweets and snacky stuff. (or sent it with him to his office) and since my plan is basically fresh/frozen fruits and vegetables and meat and a little bread i mainly stick to the outside of the grocery store and away from all the tempting items in the center! ;) This could be what's helping me the most!

Keep up the good work!

KRM&TPS, I do have the recipe, thanks :) I'm glad you liked it. I love tortillas too so I'm excited about trying the recipe out.

boilermaker, thanks, I'm glad you think so too. :)

Rock on Mom2Cole and Ellidew! You guys are doing great!! I have no doubt that you will reach your goals :)

QOTD: What are your plans for the weekend?! Do you have any events going on that will make it hard to stick to your diet?! Any exercised planned?

I'm going to go see my mom this weekend. That's going to very tough. Her birthday is on Sunday and we're going to take her out for brunch. But we're going over there tomorrow and sleeping over which means lots of home cooking. It's gonna be so tough, my mom's a good cook :D. The worst part is that I had completely forgotten and wasted most of my flex points last night when I went out to dinner with a friend. Sucks! I'll just have to be really good and try to get some exercise (long walks) in to give me some more pts to play with. Hopefully, I'll be ok. *crossing fingers*

Great job to all the "losers" :) Keep up the great work!

I'm weighing in Sunday, I dont feel lighter but I think i'm down at least a pound or two.

QOTD: What are your plans for the weekend?! Do you have any events going on that will make it hard to stick to your diet?! Any exercised planned?
DH and I are going to dinner tonight(Applebees WW menu!) and a movie(taking some twizzlers as a low cal snack!). Saturday we are running errands and doing Subway for lunch. Sunday i'm having a girls day, and AFTER my weigh in I'm going to use the rest of my felx points to enjoy a beer or two and some pasta maybe ;) Most of my excercise this weekend will be running around town doing errands and BD'ing with the hubby :D

Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!

Congrats to all of you who are seeing the great results of your efforts. Mom2Cole, I'm rooting for you to get to the 170's for the wedding!

QOTD: What are your plans for the weekend?! Do you have any events going on that will make it hard to stick to your diet?! Any exercised planned?
We are doing house and yard work this weekend, so nothing major. I did succumb to an irresistible bag of apples at the grocer ystore on Thursday, so I plan to make an apple pie. But I'm going to use splenda in the filling to help with the calories and I'm taking it to the ILs so I don't eat it all. As for exercise, I'm usually very good on the weekends with that. Tonight we take the dog to the park and walk about 4 miles. Then Sat & Sun I will do my elliptical workout. If we can fit it in, I'd like to go on a bike ride on Sunday.

QOTD: What are your plans for the weekend?! Do you have any events going on that will make it hard to stick to your diet?! Any exercised planned?

I am going home to my Dad's house and then tomorrow we are all going to my Aunt's and Uncle's house to celebrate my Grandma's 90th B-day. So there will be a ton of food there so I am hoping I have tons of will power!!! I'm having one of those days today that I feel like I could eat absolutely EVERYTHING!! But I am doing my best to stay on track since I know I will be around a lot of food tomorrow!

WISH ME LUCK!

I will be doing my normal routine of running in the morning and my hubby and I usually walk at night.

QOTD: What are your plans for the weekend?! Do you have any events going on that will make it hard to stick to your diet?! Any exercised planned?

We don't have any major plans this weekend, so it should be easy to stay on plan!! :D We usually eat out atleast one night during the weekend, but I think will will eat at home this weekend...make it less tempting to cave! :p

I am taking Cole to the park tomorrow (if his horrible cough goes away) to meet up with a friend of mine and her little one's...so I will get some exercise chasing him around!! We are also participating in the Corporate Cup Run through my husband's employer on Sunday morning...so that will be some awesome exercise!!

I plan to clean my house too this weekend...so that is always good exercise and keeps me from snacking!! ;)

Have an AWESOME weekend!!!

Well, ladies, no loss here, but no gain either. I really need to quit cheating so much! At least I am managing to maintain the 20 pounds gone and am not gaining it back with all the cheating! Right now I am cheating about one meal per day, perhaps I need to start only cheating once a week.

Well, I'm up 0.4 lbs this week, but AF's here, so maybe I've got some water weight . . .

I don't know, though, I seem to have been hovering around this same weight for several weeks. Maybe my body likes being this weight -- but I'll keep trying. :)

Today was my day to weigh, but I wasn't able.... we are staying with friends and undergoing fun shots for the rabies vaccine because a bat was in our house and may have exposed our son. Anyway, I'm sure I've gained since I'm so off my routine - no gym and eating abnormally.

Anyway, I'll be back with my weight update next week!

QOTD: What do you take to the movies to eat?? (if you take anything)

We don't go to the movies very often so i don't have a usual movie item. If we go, i usually indulge in fattening well salted theater popcorn. I have had the 100 calorie bags of popcorn at work as a snack though. I love all the new 100 calorie pack items... it takes the guess work out! We just don't like to go to the movies for several reasons but we are planning to go see the Tranporter 2 this weekend! My guess is we will either go in the afternoon or on Sunday. Otherwise we might go Thursday night or something.

Thanks for the welcome! That's a great question - about movie snacks. I don't often get to the movies, but when I do I'm always bummed that I don't have anything to munch on. What about sneaking in a ziploc bag with a cup of light microwave popcorn?

QOTD: In the past, I've just gotten either Twizzlers or a soft pretzel (my fav.) at the theatre, but I'm thinking about taking those 100 calorie snack packs, 'cuz I've fallen in love with the Oreo and Chips Ahoy ones... we go to the movies a lot more often than we should LOL... and especially now through Christmas, there's a ton of movies coming out that we wanna see, so this is gonna be tough!

What do you take to the movies to eat?? (if you take anything)

I went to the movies for the first time a week ago. The first night I went with my friend's and I brought along a 100 calorie snack pack, but since they told me we were going for icecream afterwards (Cold Stone's sinless fat free :p ), I opted to leave them in my purse and save the points!! So, I just enjoyed a $4.00 diet coke! ;) The second night I went with my hubby and I was so stuffed from dinner (which was on plan btw ;) ), that I didn't even want a soda!!

WELCOME Prudies and Boomer!!!

Ugh! I could eat just about anything right now. A gallon of ice cream, a tray of brownies, oooh... nachos! I am not going to so i don't need to be talked down from the ledge but still i am so stressed i could just EAT! ha ha. See thread here (http://www.constantchatter.com/showthread.php?t=7020). I never thought i was a stress eater. I had always considered myself a boredom eater. I'd have nothing else to do so i'd go to the pantry to see what there was which is why weekends are my most difficult time. When i am at work i only have whatever i have brought with me and in order to get something else i would have to get in my car and drive and that's too much of a pia! But, i guess i am a stress eater too! Who knew. I am going to have a piece of gum now and try to calm down. Don't worry, it's sugarless gum ;)

Welcome BethElena: Good luck reaching your goal! You can do it!

Well, last night i stopped by to weigh in and was pleasantly surprised that i had lost 1.3 lbs since Monday. (over the weekend i had only lost .4 lbs) Weekends are typically harder for me than weekdays. I still don't understand how i can lose weight eating like i am! Tuesday night we had homemade (vs. from a restaurant which would have added oil and salt) manicotti. Tonight... we are having pizza! Like, from a real pizza parlor! AND IT'S ON MY DIET! It just doesn't make sense!

My menu for today:

Breakfast: 1/2 cup oatmeal and yogurt
AM Snack: Protein Bar (LA Lite)
Lunch: 1/3 cup pasta sauteed with 1 tsp olive oil, 1 pkg vegetarian meat crumbles and half a cup of fresh spinach. An apple.
PM Snack: LA Lite protein bar
Dinner: 1 slice of cheese pizza (large slice of ny style pizza - i can have 2 slices of a papa johns pizza) 2 cups of lettuce and 2 tbsp dressing. Fried Strawberries (12) with chocolate syrup (mmm... the girl at the center asked "how do you fry strawberries" :D After i told her she said it sounded really good and she would have to share the idea with others!)

Fried Strawberries: (this is going to be general because i just made it up. Actually i fry apples all the time so i figured it would work with strawberries too!)
Cut strawberries (12 small) into wedges. Place in frying pan with 1/2-3/4 cups water and sprinkle with 2-3 packets of splenda. Simmer until water begins to thicken into a syrup.
I am going to drizzle lite chocolate syrup on them! I put fat free cool whip on them too!

Seriously though, how can i eat so much in 1 day and lose weight? This is the best diet EVER! :D

How is everyone else doing this week? We've all been so quiet! We've had some great weigh ins so far so keep 'em coming.

QOTD: What's for dinner?

Sorry, i am running out of creative ideas! ha ha. Let me know what you're having! We are having pizza tonight :D Tomorrow night we are going to have meatball subs. I am going to use vegetarian meatballs and heat them in no sodium tomato sauce along with some green pepper. Then i am going to pile 'em on to the bottom half of a hoagie roll and top with a little reduced fat mozzerella. Dh will get a whole hoagie roll and real meat meatballs and probably the high octane marinara sauce and cheese. Lucky duck. He told me yesterday that my diet is killing him because he is losing weight! He probably could afford to gain a few pounds so i am going to have to start loading his dinner with fat. I told him to eat a bigger lunch too ;)

Heck yeah you'll be in the 170's! Keep it up!

BethElena- i am basically doing the same thing. I make single portions vs. a whole meal. It helps that i am vegetarian and have been making single portions for myself all along but now i have a guideline of what measurements i should have so i just measure it out and i am done vs. making too much and eating it all! We eat almost all fresh fruits and vegetables and nothing pre processed (salt/sugar content). So no canned vegetables for us :( or canned beans, etc... I had to make black beans from scratch and my next task is garbanzo beans/chick peas so i can make hummus! I am learning as i go :D

Today at my weigh in i am hoping to reach the 10lb loss mark (not for the challenge but in general since i started) I was down 8.7 as of Monday. 1.3 lbs in 2 days might be a bit much to ask for but a girl can wish can't she? (plus i have jeans on today so that is going to alter my weight a bit) I am completely on target to reach my weight loss challenge goal and that makes me feel really good. I thought i would be excited about reaching the 10lb weight loss mark but now that i am so close i can't wait to say i lost 20! 15 is my challenge this go 'round and i am pushing to get there!

We are all doing awesome and i am so proud of us all.

Although...I have to admit I sometimes feel a little deprived. So....

QOTD What do you do when you deal with feeling deprived?

It's hard to put my finger on it. I guess I just get a little bored with having the same dessert every night. I need to shake it up and want a little "treat" but I'm so afraid of bingeing that I don't want to bake anything or buy anything too big, kwim? Any ideas?

Way to go ladies! I am glad your stressful week is over Mrs.B716! Sounds like it was crazy!

I didn't check in here on Friday afternoon but i did weigh in. I am going to switch my weigh in date to Wednesday though since i never get online at home on Friday afternoons. If i go with last wednesdays weight loss then i was - 1.7 but i was up a little on Friday (and wearing jeans and socks, etc... because it was cold).

After yesterday i am scared to go weigh in today. We went out to lunch with family then went shopping all day (so i did a ton of walking!) then out to dinner. For lunch/brunch i had 1/2 a croissant 2 eggs and about a cup of hasbrowns and a few fried apples. For dinner i had a salad (no cheese and lite dressing), yogurt, and 2 slices of pizza but it was st. louis style so the pieces were probably 2-3 inch wide by 3-4 inches long. Which would probably equate to 1 slice of a pizza hut type pizza. I even patted the grease off of the slices before i ate them. I felt guilty all night!

Back to the grind today though. I am going to make up my meal plans for now until friday then after work weigh in and go grocery shopping. I am off to get dinner ideas so if you have any please share!

QOTD What do you do when you deal with feeling deprived? What did i use to do or what do i do now? :p jk. I try to eat filling foods like an apple with 1 1/2 tbsp peanut butter (my breakfast today!) The apple is high in fiber and the peanut butter is protein so it helps you feel fuller. I don't eat any airy foods like jello or cool whip (although i am allowed up to 3 tbsp of cool whip a day). I have only had 2-3 "hungry" days the whole time i have been dieting. I am going to have to force down my breakfast because i am not that hungry but i know i have to eat it to get my metabolism going.

The other thing that i have learned is that carbs fool you into thinking you are full. I only get 2 starches a day and 1 starch = 1 slice of bread 1/2 a 4" pita 1/2 a 6" tortilla, you get the idea, so it isn't much. I thought i was going to miss them so much and i don't. I did have a headache for the first 2 days i was on this diet and i attribute that to the lack of carbs because most of my day was made up of them before.

In other news: My khaki pants fit! They were wearable a few weeks ago but when i sat down they were really uncomfortable around the waist but i am wearing them right now and they fit perfectly. The downside is that the 2 pairs of jeans i bought 3 weeks ago are now too big :( They are cute jeans too.

SSL. I just kind of babbled!

catch
09-26-2005, 07:18 AM
ellidew, congrats on your pants fitting and on your weightloss! That's just the bestest feeling :)

I am down 3.2 lbs today!

I'm thrilled! :) Especially after last week's gain. The last couple of days have been extremely stressful for me and I caught myself emotionally eating twice :o But I actually stopped myself both times and asked myself if the Hershey with Almonds bar was actually fixing my problem or making it better? It really wasn't. So I enjoyed it as a snack, but not as the solution to my problem. The same thing the next morning when I caught myself getting breakfast at McD's. That time, the meal wasn't even good. It was just one of my old comfort foods. Not worth it. So I just have to stay aware of the foods I'm eating and why I'm eating them.

I'm still struggling to add exercise to my schedule. I try to walk during lunch but I don't think that's enough. Will continue to work on that.

It's funny though, I am almost back to where I was about 3 years ago, weight wise. Except all those clothes don't fit the same way anymore. What they say about your body changing shape after having a baby is sooooo true. My baby gut is still there and I'm very jiggly. I was never that jiggly before. I assume it gets a bit less jiggly as time goes on.

My internet service has been on the fritz -- so sorry for not getting in my Saturday weigh in earlier.

I lost 0.8 lbs last week, so that puts me at:

Week 1: +0.4
Week 2: -0.8

At least I'm moving in the right direction! :)

jennylou- You should feel great about being where you are! I can't wait to be where i was 3 years ago (when i got married!) Heck i can't wait to be where i was 2 years ago! I hope you are really proud of yourself... i'm proud of you. Since the old clothes don't fit the same do you get to buy all new ones? I don't know if this will help with the "jiggle" or not but at L A Weightloss they say that soy protein helps with skin elasticity. I eat 2 soy protein bars per day. I have no idea if that is true or not... as long as i am losing weight i am not going to argue!

I checked in last night and i am down .9 from last weeks weigh in which puts me at 211.4. I am trying really hard to get just under the 210 mark. I know it will be this week... i don't know if it will be in time for my wednesday weigh in though. Here's hoping! I am considering up'ing my Halloween weight loss challenge to 19 lbs instead of 15 lbs which would put me at 199. I can't wait to break the 200 barrier! I am getting really excited! I am afraid if i set a goal that isn't obtainable then i will get discouraged. I guess i better leave it where it is. I am on track to reach it still. If i get to 200 i will be THRILLED though.

Happy losing everyone! I hope to see great results this week.

This week is going awesome for me! I have avoided eating bad so many times and I am so proud of myself!!! :D

Last Saturday night my friend turned 30 and we went to her surprise party and boy did they have a s.p.r.e.a.d.!! Chips and dip, cookies drowning in frosting, do you want me to go on?! I left with only drinking 1 wine cooler!! :p

Then last Sunday we went out to my in-laws house for my MIL's birthday and there were so many casseroles to choose from...it was sick! I loaded up on salad (that I made that had fat free dressing ;) ) and then had a tad bit of two casseroles...barely filled half a bowl! For dessert they had apple crisp and brownies (ahhhhhhhh) and I decided to have my leftover salad!! I was so proud of myself!! My MIL even looked at me and said, "Moni...how much have you lost...you are dwindling away!" That made me happy to hear!! I have lost 30 since May 9th of this year, but have lost 43.5 from my highest weight ever! I complain about having to lug my 19 month old around and he is 33 pounds and I was basically carrying that weight around everyday...how crazy is that?!?

Last night I went to a friend's house to scrapbook and some of the girl's brought treats and I sat in the corner with my Diet Coke and happily cropped! :D

We are going out to dinner with my husband's family tonight since his brother is flying in from Colorado and I am a little nervous about eating out since I weigh in tomorrow morning. We are eating at a local restaurant, so point value isn't on DWLZ...so I will have to wing it! I plan on having a small steak, a small potato, and some salad...it shouldn't be that bad...I just need to stay away from the bread! ;)

I will be back with weigh in results tomorrow...I am pretty positive I have lost something!

Mom2Cole AWESOME! Sounds like your doing great, got any before and current pics to share? I'm sure you look fabu!

I myself have also been doing really well this week, officially counting the WW points and only going over one night by 2 points. I sneaked and weighed myself this morning and I was down 3 lbs! So i'm on a mission to do great and lose even more before the sunday weigh in. I haven't begun excercising yet because I've been working OT everyday and only have time at night to eat dinner and go to bed, but I can feel a difference in how I'm sleeping!

Have a great day ladies!

Dan's*Girl~I will have to dig up some before pictures. I hated how I looked, so there are not many of them! :p

So, last night went surprisingly well at dinner. My SIL and I split a steak, so I had about 4 ounces of steak, a half of a baked potato, a tad bit of pasta that was served as a side, salad, and 1/2 a piece of bread. For dessert, I had a skinny cow when we got home!! :D

So, you all know how my goal was to be 175 by my husband's cousin's wedding, which is tonight?!?! Since I maintained last week, I knew I wouldn't make it to 175 from 180.5 in one week...so my goal changed and I said I just wanted to be in the 170's by the wedding....remember?! Well, I am happy to announce that I am in the 170's this morning and I am actually only 1.5 pounds away from my original goal for the wedding!!!!!

I weighed in today at 176.5 for a loss of 4 pounds for the week!!!!!!! I am so flippin' excited!!!!!!! :D Since AF was here last week, I must have really been retaining some water!

Here are my stats...

Current Weight: 183
week 1: - 2.5 / 180.5
week 2: 0 / 180.5
week 3: -4/176.5 :D :D
week 4:
week 5:
week 6:
week 7:
Total Weight Loss: - 6.5/14.5

YAY...I hit my 170's goal!!! What a feeling!!! Hope ya all have a wonderful weekend!!!!

I was not able to check in until today. My mom's house in Louisiana flooded with Rita. I was going to help her so I went to meet them at my sister's. While there my 2 year old nephew had a febrile seizure. It was very scary. So my mom wanted me to stay and help my sister. Her computer is not working. Something about operating system not found- I dont think that is good.

Anyway long story but I weighed myself Monday morning at my house. It said I was down 1 pound or so. It was really early and it was hard to tell with our scale. Which would make me 224. Well at my sisters her scale said I was 220. I think something is wrong with our scale. I dont know which one is wrong or right. I mean if I am 220 I am eating the wrong points for Weight Watchers. My husband went to the doctor a few months back and said that when they weighed him it was less than what he gets at home. I mean I thought we had a reliable scale. The stupid thing was almost $40.

So does anyone have any suggestions? I feel like I am rambling, but I am very confused. So I dont know what to put down for weight loss.

CONGRATS on your awesome loss MrsB!!! :D

Thanks for the congrats girl's!! You all are so awesome and keep me motivated!!!

Kim~Just my two cents here...

My scale was about a pound and a half higher then my doctor's office when I had my appointment. I actually weighed myself at home before I left to see the difference at their office.

My Mom has the same type of scale as I do (different model) and I just weighed myself this monring at her house (to make sure my scale was semi-accurate) and it was right on the money.

I would say to make sure you weigh yourself on the same scale each week to accurately chart your weightloss. Weight is going to vary from scale to scale.

We have a Tanita Scale (http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=82142&catid=16803&trx=PLST-0-SRCH&trxp1=16803&trxp2=82142&trxp3=1&trxp4=0&btrx=BUY-PLST-0-SRCH) and I LOVE it!!! Totally worth the money, imo!!

Hope I am a help and not a pain!! ;)

I hope it's still okay to join......my husband and I evacuated from Katrina, and as a result the past few weeks have been horrible in terms of eating and exercising. All I wanted was comfort food, and who has the energy to exercise when you're moving to a new location every few days! Anyway, I'm at my mom's now, where I plan to be for the next month at least. So hopefully a little stability will help me get back in control! I had lost about 15 lbs prior to the hurricane, and put almost all of it back on. Hopefully participating in this will help with that!

So sad that i have to report a gain! :( I blame la weightloss because their food book specifically reads "sugarless candies .... up to 3 per day" So i bought some sugar free candy all chocolate products.. peanut butter cups, turtles, and chocolate with almonds. Stupid me should've known that was too good to be true. Turns out its 3 sugarless candies like life savers. Well, idiots, how was i supposed to know that? Anyway, after gaining consecutively they asked "have you been doing anything differently?" and that was the only thing that had changed. I was upset and when i got home i cried to dh. He was sweet about it and made me feel better. So my pathetic weigh in (which i am embarassed to put in red) is 212.8 Ick! Actually, that is kind of why i stayed away for a couple of days. I was just depressed about it. To be honest i haven't read any of updates yet so i hope everyone else did well losing! I weighed in on Friday and was back down to 211.6 so i was only a few tenths off from where i started before the sugarless candy fiasco. Basically made the week a complete wash.

I am not anticipating good results at tonight weigh in since i had tickets to friday nights baseball game and shared nachos with a friend then on saturday met friends at a restaurant to watch a college football game (although in theory i only had 1/4 of a veggie burger and maybe 15-20 fries and 1 onion ring but i didn't eat "healthy" the rest of the day) Sunday was okay except we had to go to a birthday party. I only had a few bites of a small piece of cake though so i feel guilty but not overwhelmingly. It was a tough weekend. This week should be better but we have playoff tickets to game 1 in St. Louis and i plan to have a pretzel since it could possibly be the last time i am in busch stadium (we are getting a new stadium) We have playoff tickets to game 5 of the nlds and game 6 of the nlcs but neither could be played. We are tailgating before and i am going to mix my beer with diet sprite because i have to count it. I am going to take veggies and light salad dressing to snack on too. I am not going to have any other carbs for the day and i am going to get the pretzel without salt. ;)

Happy losing everyone! Lets have a great week!

My scale HAS to be wrong...how the heck did I gain 5 pounds when I have been eating WAY less?? I am now 135 but I am definitely looking into buying a new scale. The pants I just bought fit looser then when I bought them, so I'm guessing I lost approx. 3 lbs....Maybe I should leave this week blank????

ellidew - don't worry, you'll be ok this week. At least you know what happened and you can fix the situation.

I'm doing my same old up and down routine :( I'm up + 2.6 lbs. Very disappointed but I know exactly why it happened. AF + exciting Yankees game = over snacking. Pizza, donuts and lots of Coke. I still have AF so I'm hoping some of that is water weight but I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't. I HAVE to get back on track. I usually get very discouraged when I gain weight after AF and just quit tracking. Not gonna do that this month. I really want to reach my goal. :)

**Updated to here**

Congrats to everyone with a loss. We have some big losers and I can't wait to see our final weigh in the week of the 23rd. (it's the last full week weigh in before Halloween so the following week will be the start of our Thanksgiving weight loss challenge. I think we are going to need each other more and more the closer we inch towards Thanksgiving and Christmas! ) Keep up the GREAT work!

Up to this point our TOTAL WEIGHTLOSS is: 52.25

Catch: I inputted your weight as the +.4

KRM&TPS: Your are doing great! You've lost a total of 8 lbs! Awesome! Sorry i missed your update last week. I log in to read and post in my reagular user name and when i come back to do the updates i scan for the red! Thanks for reposting it and i updated your profile! You are consistently losing and that's wonderful!

Way to go Dan's*Girl!

Catch: Sorry the scale is playing tricks on you. At LAWL it's electronic and there's no room for question since you know it's off if the reading is anything other than 0 to start. I weighed on my mom's scale when i was at her house on monday and it said i was 212 or 213 (hard to tell) and when i got to LAWL it read 210.6 which is my lowest so far! Scales are so tricky. Don't get discouraged though. Keep up the good work.

This thread moves too quickly for me to keep up. I lost another pound, so I am down 3 total.
Someone commented on gaining weight but clothes fitting looser. This happens to me a lot, esp if I only exercise vs eating less too. Don't forget muscle weighs more than fat, so you can gain pounds while losing mass. Last summer I went from a size 8 to a size 6...and gained about 8 lbs in the process.

BethElena

Hi Ladies. I checked in earlier to post updates and then got distracted at work. Imagine that ;)

We are all doing a great job!

I checked in at LAWL again on Monday and ended up being at my lowest weight since starting this whole thing 210.6 I doubt i hit the 209 mark today since i spent the day at the ballpark yesterday watching the cards play an awesome game against the Padres! Well worth every nacho in my opinion. I am back on today unwaivering even though i know i am going to get yelled at at the center tonight. Well, they probably wont yell but i doubt i get a good response none the less. A loss would be near impossible since i didn't really follow the plan yesterday. I am hoping to at least break even. Here's hoping!

I can't believe we have collectively lost 52.25 lbs! That's really amazing! We are doing such an awesome job!

i fear the holidays. maybe we can keep this group going through then!!
Definitely! We will definitely keep it going with a Thanksgiving Weight Loss Challenge and a Christmas Weight Loss Challenge and then a Valentines Day Weight Loss Challenge.

Which will be the most important for me since we going on a cruise the week before Valentines Day! I HAVE to be down a total of at least 51 lbs by then and i am going to need all the pep talks i can get! I truthfully have dieted so many times without seeing the results or getting bored and/or discouraged that it seems almost impossible to lost 51 lbs! I have lost 10.4 and that's a good start. (total since i started which was about a week before we started this challenge) So i guess i only need to lose another 41 lbs to be comfortable! Hey, i can do that! :D Baby steps right?

Gotta get to the gym. gotta get to the gym. gotta get to the gym.

Ok. Enough rambling. Back to work!

Hi Ladies! I made the updates... including mine (even though i didn't post it here).

After my day at the ballpark I maintained my weight from Monday and weighed in at exactly the same weight. 210.6 which puts my loss for the week at - 2.2! Yay! I was back to wearing summer clothes at the beginning of the week and now i am back to fall/winter clothes. It will most likely be like this here on out with our highs in the 60's. Therefore, i am not anticipating a loss to below 210 on Friday to compensate for the additional clothing weight. Remembering to take clothes and actually changing when i get to the center would just be a pain in the arse. I will just take the ups and downs for the last couple of weeks. I plan to be at my goal by the time i have to officially switch back to spring/summer clothes.

Wow, i ramble. I am probably the most annoying poster on cc.

Well, i hope everyone else is out there losing! I printed a picture of us on a trip over labor day weekend that i HATE of myself. I posted it on my tack board at my desk at work and i think i will print a copy to go on the fridge at home. I don't care who sees it since i apparently look like that to everyone else anyway. I didn't think i looked so terrible. Seriously good motivation though.

Okay, off to research ellipticals so i can cancel my gym membership since i don't have a personal trainer anymore :( Any suggestions on ellipticals?

CONGRATULATIONS Dan's*Girl. H&H 9 months!

WAY TO GO Nolagirl!

My news isn't as exciting as Dan's*Girl but when i weighed in yesterday i was 209.0! WHOO HOO! I broke the 210 mark and didn't even expect to... and in fall/winter clothes none the less! I was very excited especially since i had a horrible day at the office.

HAPPY LOSING!

Well, despite two and a half weeks of terrible eating and not enough excercise, I've managed to lose some weight. I guess my metabolism is just really high right now. :)

So, my Saturday weigh in was -0.8 lbs

Congratulations Dan's Girl! :)

I weighed in and I'm down -0.8 lbs! I'm down 5 pounds and am feeling pretty good. 21 days to lose another 5 pounds and reach my challenge goal. Totally do-able. So happy!

ellidew - the weight loss amount shown in the front page says 4.5 lbs but I think it was supposed to be 4.2 lbs. Now it should be 5 pounds. Thanks!

Well, all that grub at pigged out on at my husband's cousin's wedding last weekend caught up with me!! :p I guess it didn't help any that I ate almost a half a box of goldfish Thursday night and had to weigh in Friday! :p

Current Weight: 183
week 1: - 2.5 / 180.5

Total Weight Loss: - 5.5

Good news....I now fit quite comfortably in a size 14 jean!!!! YIPPPEEEE!!! I can now say I am a size 14, since the dress I wore to a friend's wedding was also a 14!! :D We ran into friend's we have not seen since last summer and they didn't even recognize me! I loved it. I was getting compliments left and right and my husband's friend's told him that he had "an incredibly hot wife". Boy did that make my evening!! LOL!! So, I wear the pound I gained this week with pride!!

We are leaving for Disney on Thursday and won't return until the following Thursday. I am a bit nervous about gaining weight, but I am not going to let it consumme my vacation. If I gain weight, oh well, I will just jump back on the wagon when we get home!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!!!

I weighed in this morning and to my suprrise I lost another 2 pounds. I need to start exercising. I cant make myself get up and do anything at home. I use to do Curves up until May. I think I might join again. My biggest problem is my thighs. They are still keeping me from being able to wear my jeans. It is slightly tight there but not in other places. So I think exercising will help.

So for this week its -2.

Way to go everyone. We are going to lose alot by Halloween.

I am hoping all the walking we will be doing will help me to atleast maintain!! ;)

Oh no! I am on my own for updates for over a week! ha ha. jk. Have a great trip and don't obsess but don't go over board either and you will be fine. I am going camping this weekend and pre-making/preparing all our meals. Like making pancake batter ahead of time, steaming vegetables, etc... Only a few weeks left to go in the challenge and i need to LOSE LOSE LOSE! ;)

I am happy to report that 2 pairs of pants that didn't fit a few weeks ago now miraculously fit! I was ecstatic about getting below 210. There was a minor set back on Monday where i was up .2 but i had an allergic reaction to something over the weekend and was given a steroid shot. The woman at the center said that would stunt things and that we will give it a week and see where we are. If no loss then we will do something called "quick start" which i didn't ask about at the time. I am sure its just a melabolism boost of some sort. I am hoping for a loss and to avoid that altogether.

Started looking at ellipticals last weekend and haven't found one we love yet. We were going to go shopping again on sunday but that's when i had to go to the hospitals urgent care center because my eyelid got swollen and i could barely open my left eye. I was bummed that i had to waste a perfectly good weekend day knocked out by drugs. Nearly all better now though. I hope to get back from camping early on sunday to finish the elliptical shopping. we will see though.

I am not weighing in tonight because i have dinner and pedicure plans with a friend that is getting married in a week and a half. I will be weighing in tomorrow night instead.

QOTD: What's your workout routine?

I don't have a specific one yet but i am hoping to buy the elliptical, weighted bars, balance ball, etc... so it will be something like: 30 mins on the elliptical and 15-20 mins worth of balance ball and weighted bar workout. At least 2 times a week.

Can't wait to finish the basement and have a workout room! Whoo hoo! :D

Anyway, I weighed in at 199.5!!! so I lost 2 lbs this week! :D I think I can thank the sweet little kids I babysit once a week for this LOL 'cuz they were extra sweet (NOT!) this week and I was running around like crazy! Yay for exercise!

Congrats TX Sweetheart! That's great! (the weight loss not the unruly children! ha ha)

I am happy to report a loss too! - 2.8 / 207.8! YAY! 200 is creepin' on in. I can't wait! I am only 4.8 lbs away from my challenge goal so i should definitely get there right on time!

Last night the woman at the center figured out my weight loss if i consistently lose at the pace that i have been (2.64 lbs a week since i started) I will be 180 in time for Christmas and 160 in time for my cruise!

This weekend we are going camping. I preplanned and am pre-preparing food. For breakfast on saturday we are having pancakes, stewed strawberries, cool whip (and i am making sausage and bacon for everyone else). For lunch we are having hot dogs, cranberry sauce (premade with fresh cranberries), and broccoli slaw and for dinner we are having chili and fried apples. The only junk food my sister and i bought when we went grocery shopping last night was tortilla chips and cheese dip and salsa. That's the only thing that could get me in trouble. Actually, that and the bottle of wine i bought! I guess i could just generally overeat too. Hopefully i wont be doing that. We should be hiking and what not so we'll be getting exercise too.

Well ladies... happy losing this weekend. Don't lose sight of your goals. We are almost done with the challenge. Bring up these last 2 weeks of weight loss. WE CAN DO IT!

QTD: I wallk EVERYWHERE! The book I'm following really stresses the fact that Americans drive everywhere and Europeans walk. So I'm trying to make that my mantra. I use a pedometer (I know, I'm a dork) and try to do 10000 - 15000 steps a day. So far it seems to be working well - and I really do like walking for exercise and being outside. I just will never be a person who likes working out at the gym. For years I've tried to make myself that person but it always fails (and costs me a ton of money too). So for now I'm sticking with walking and light weight lifting with 5 and 10 pound wts.

In my earlier post, I forgot to say congratulations to everyone who worked hard this week - loss or no loss!

Well, I haven't posted here because I've been at the same damn plateau for 3 weeks!!!!! I am so over this! My clothes do feel slightly better, so I'm hanging on to that.

Any advice for getting out of that last ten pounds plateau? I think I've done as much as I can on the food front. I suppose I need to kick up the exercise more. Maybe I need to mix it up more?

QOTD: What's your workout routine? I do cardio 5x a week (and am about to up it to 6 to get out of this damn rut!) and weight lifting 2x a week and pilates mat once a week. 3 of the cardio days are 30 minute sessions, and 2 are 50-60 minute sessions.

I love my pilates mat class. It's really made a difference in how my clothes fit.

EmilyBronte

prudies~ Do you ever do the treadmill for your cardio? If so, this is one I used to do, and it seemed like a great way to maximize my workout and help me lose weight:

This requires you think of your intensity on a scale of 1-10, with 10 being your absolute maximum output. I put examples that applied to me in parenthesis.

2 minute warm-up at level 5 (3.0)

1 minute at level 6 (4.0)
1 minute at level 7 (4.5)
1 minute at level 8 (5.0)
1 minute at level 9 (5.5)

1 minute at level 6
1 minute at level 7
1 minute at level 8
1 minute at level 9

1 minute at level 6
1 minute at level 7
1 minute at level 8
1 minute at level 9

1 minute at level 6
1 minute at level 7
1 minute at level 8
1 minute at level 9

1 minute at level 6
1 minute at level 7
1 minute at level 8
1 minute at level 9

1 minute at level 6
1 minute at level 7
1 minute at level 8
1 minute at level 9

2 minutes at level 10 (6.5)

2 minutes at level 5 (3.0)

I used to run 2-3 miles on the treadmill reguarly, and when I started doing this workout it kicked my butt, but it helped me get through many plateaus. Now I use it both for plateaus and when I've been away from working out for a while and want to start again.

Let me know if you try it and like it (also, this could work on a bike or elliptical machine but I've never done it this way).

hi! I'm trying to lose before surgery, when I'll be limited with exercise.

Me: Darlene 26
DH: Scott 24
Married since: Not yet 2/4/06
Dieting since: Oh since I hit 150 which was about 2 weeks ago :p
Dieting Program: eating breakfast, big lunch, and snack for dinner (bowl of cereal or something like that), walking 3 miles a day on treadmill about everyother day (enough to get to 300 calories), sometimes exercise ball workout for an hour, not eating or drinking calories after 8pm.
Total weight loss goal/Final Weight: 135
Final Weight Date Challenge:By November 2nd
Challenge Weight Loss Goal: 10 pounds
Known issues: utter exhaustion at jogging and I want to jog so much (calories burn faster so I'm not at gym for 1.5 hours:rolleyes: )
Current Weight:143
Any advice for getting out of that last ten pounds plateau? I think I'm going to try that cardio suggestion. I've been zoning out lately. I think the important thing is to know most fit people are consistant 80% of the time....somedays they do 50% sometimes 100%. That helps me from giving up.
week one (Sept 25)): 147
week two(Oct 9): 145
weeek three (oct 16 weighed in): 143

QOTD: What's your workout routine? I do cardio 4x a week, all 1 hour or 1.5 hours. I have nothing better to do LOL. I'd like to go moe often, but sometimes I have a busy day.

I don't have one :( With work and school, it's hard for me to make time. I probably could if I woke up earlier, but it's hard. Good morning ladies! How was everyones weekend? I know i am a day late but i wasn't at work yesterday (where i spend most of my time on the comp!)

CONGRATS to everyone that lost! We are doing great! I lost another pound since Friday which puts my total loss at 14.2 lbs and puts me only 3.8 lbs away from my challenge goal. With a little over a week to go i am VERY optimistic and quite proud of myself! :)

Yesterday i ordered an elliptical trainer from Dicks Sporting Goods. We went to Sports Authority, Sears and Dick's and liked the one at Dicks the best. Especially for the price! It was $799.99 + $79.99 for shipping but i found an online coupon for 10% off. The system rounded the 10% off and gave us a full $80.00 off so i saved 1 cent :D The same elliptical in the store is $999.99 and they wouldn't price match their website. Figures! Oh well. Now we don't have to lug it home. Poor delivery man ;)
http://dsp.imageg.net/graphics/product_images/p2141852dt.jpg

It will ship within 2-3 business days so hopefully we will have it by the weekend. I plan to work by butt off (litterally) for the Thanksgiving weight loss challenge!

I did this today and OMG!! Great results!!

I normally go for 1.5 hours treadmilling at 3.5 for 3 miles and barely getting to 300 calories burned  I printed out this from Emily bronton (only I could just do 1 min at level 10, then back to level 5 for a min, then 10 1 min again at the end) and I did 310 calories in less than 45 minutes, and only had to walk 2 and change miles! I'm so happy!

The great thing about this is, as soon as you think you can't go on (level 9) it's already time to go back to level 5. It kept my energy up and by the time level 5 minute was up, I was ready to go to the next one. Very very helpful!

October2002bride Oh I love those foods too - they're great to get started, just not good for dinner or snacks after 8 IMO ;) . You'll get there. It took me forever to get serious, then I overdid it and quit, only to take things consistantly and at my own pace instead of worrying about everyone else :D
Just try to burn off all that yummy food. I'm such a dork - I even bounce on my exercise ball while online - so silly sounding, but it does require balance and you are moving!

beachlvr I think we spent our day doing the same thing yesterday! I bought my elliptical then too. Sent in my gym membership cancellation this morning. I was going to a personal trainer and that was going great until he took another job. When my contract ran out i was faced with whether or not to drop another $800 on it. Instead we opted for the elliptical which i can do at home whenever it is convenient. Not having to drive somewhere is a big incentive! Sounds like you have been successful with weight loss in the past so i hope you find it again!

Darlene&Scott- That's awesome that you saw such great results! I bet it felt wonderful to get more done in less time, huh? Since you said it worked so well I am going to try it too once our elliptical is set up. Looking forward to it, actually. I am hoping that by doing some kind of exercise it speeds my weight loss along. I've been averaging about 2.6 week and would love to make it a solid 3 OR MORE! My contract with the trainer ended the week i started dieting so i can't credit any of my loss to working out.

KRM&TPS-We are all such big losers! :D Seriously though, you're weight loss is keeping me on my toes! You are doing so wonderful! Keep it up! Don't let this week get you down. Just think about how were neck and neck. ha ha.

October2002Bride- Welcome. Feel free to post pics. You better believe when i hit my goal weight i am going to inundate you all with before and afters! I printed out a picture that was taken the weekend before i started my diet (on the Tuesday after Labor Day) and posted it on my bulletin board at my desk. Everytime i look at it i am disgusted. It's right next to the last "family" photo dh and I had taken with our furbaby where i don't look great but i don't look fat and that's the key. My cruise in February is still my ultimate motivation. I would only be a few weeks shy of my goal weight if i keep up at the same pace i have been going at. You can do it... just stick with us.

amberfiddles- WHOO HOO! So far you are the ultimate weight loss challenges biggest loser! (That's a good thing ;) ) You're doing really amazing. I hope you are proud of yourself... I'm proud of you!

MLA- Stick with it! You'll finish out strong next week!

catch- What a great loss! Congrats! I am a firm believer in - Any movement above what you would usually do is exercise. If you park at the top of the store lot instead of in front of the door, it's exercise. If you take the long route to the bathroom from your desk, it's exercise. If you chase your dog around the backyard, it's exercise.

nolagirl- Sorry i can't help with the Pilates. I'm an idiot about it.

EmilyBronte: Thanks for posting the workout pattern. It seems like it's going to help a lot of us!

Hi everyone!!
Congrats on the weightloss!!! I did not update last week so last week and this week will be a skip

The reason for this is because I have been having health issues and everything has gone haywire. So I am going to take it easy and get this figured out. I go back to the DR tonight to get my results. I am hoping that I can do the Thanksgiving challange. Just thought I would update everyone on that!

ellidew, thanks for the encouragement. I know I don't have a lot of weight to lose, but I think it's more difficult to find the motivation than it was when I was trying to lose a lot.

I did 30 minutes on my elliptical last night. I have to decide whether or not I'm going to cancel my gym membership. I'd like to go back to the spinning class they have at 6 am. It's only $25 a month, so it's not a huge cost even if I just go every once in a while.

Well, i'm weighing in this week at - 1.6 / 206.2 I weighed in late last week so it isn't a full week. I hope to be weighing in below 205 next week! Our FINAL week! Can you believe it's been almost 7 weeks? We've done so great! I hope to finish out big. This weekend i have a rehearsal dinner, wedding all day (i plan to pack breakfast and lunch and a snack) then the reception dinner. Sunday we are going out to breakfast for our annual trip to the pumpkin farm. I know where we are going and planned for it though. I'm afraid i wont have a strong finish! Hopefully the elliptical shows up on the door step tomorrow and we can use it over the weekend. Otherwise WATCHOUT for me in the Thanksgiving Challenge! I'm going for the title :D lol.

We are back from Disney and I am sure with some extra weight! ;) I didn't have a minute to jump on the scale last Friday, so I will have a SKIP for last week.

I am back on the healthy eating kick, as of today, so I am hoping if I did gain a butt load of weight while on vacation...I will shed some of it by Friday's weigh in so I won't be too shocked by the number!!! :p

I am soooo excited about the Thanksgiving challenge!! I am so excited to eat at Thanksgiving...so I plan on shedding some weigh before that feast! ;)

Congratulations to everyone who lost...you girl's are doing so incredibly awesome!!!

Welcome back Mom2Cole! Hope you had a great time on your vacation!

I am ecstatically excited to report that i only have to lose .8 lbs between now and wednesday to reach my challenge goal! I think even being within .8 lbs of my goal is an acomplishment in it's own right but i will take the additional loss i hope to have between now and then!

Anyone else close to their goal? Off to check out the profiles!

YAY for amberfiddles, KRM&TPS !! Awesome job :)

I had a slip up last week. I'm up -.4 for week 7. That makes me 3.2 lbs away from my challege goal. I'm on track so far this week and I'm still truly hoping to reach my challenge goal. Even if I get 1 pound away from it, I'll still be super happy. I've managed to maintain some weight off (6.8 lbs) and I haven't given up yet. I don't think I've EVER been "on a diet" for this long, consecutively. I've had lots of slip-ups, which usually discourage me and make me quit, but this time around, I haven't. I plan to also do the Thanksgiving Day challenge. I'm happy with my results so far. :) I might add exercise this week to encourage more weightloss.

Thank you Ellidew for bringing that to my attention. I totally forgot my goal. Thank you everybody for the congratulations. I am not having a problem with the diet it is pretty easy to follow. Exercise is still a problem for me. I am ashame to say I still don't have any type of exercise program. Those who exercise how do you motivate yourself?

I weighed in this morning and I am -5. That makes me 215! This so makes up for my slump last week.

I don't know how many of you do WW. Well I do it online and on the weight tracker they have a pretty neat thing. They tell you how much the pounds you lost measure up to. Did you know 5 pounds is as much as a sack of potatoes? Yeah i feel like I have a bunch more sacks of potatoes to lose.

Congratulations to amberfiddles also for making your goal. And congratulations to everyone in the challenge. We made it!
