Did you watch the match? Wasn't that insane?

I was pulling for Blake but since Agassi is also such a classy player, I wasn't "crushed" by the loss. Also, matches don't get much better than last night. What a nail biter!

I gave up on watching it, I was ready to go to sleep when it came on.

DH watched the whole thing, though. He said it was the best match he has ever seen. Now I'm sorry I missed it.

I love Agassi, so I am so glad he won.

I was ready to go to bed when it started too. It looked like Blake was going to win after 3 sets and I was so happy because I was exhausted. But it went until after 1 AM!

I too am an Agassi fan, in general, but I just couldn't resist rooting for Blake after hearing his story. I was at the Open in '94 when Agassi won so I felt like he had his fair share of great wins. Everybody loves a comeback so the fans were going crazy for Agassi. (But come to think of it... Blake's is a comeback story as well...)

I am so miffed--we gave up during the 3rd set. I don't even like tennis very much anymore, but I adore Andre. Shame on me for not having more faith! ;)

YAY! I'm *so* glad you started a tennis thread. It's my favorite sport ----- last night was INCREDIBLE. I didn't get to watch the whole thing... but tonight I plan to (tivo is a beautiful thing ;) )

I'm really glad Agassi won, although I dont think he can pull it off against Federer, should he end up playing him in the final.

Speaking of Federer... Tonight he plays Nalbandian, who has given him trouble before. Somehow I think Federer will be just fine!!

DH is a huge Agassi fan, though Sampras is, was and always will be his favorite. Needless to say, our tv was tuned to USA last night until they went to CBS. Channels didn't even get changed for commercials, which is unusual in our house.

I don't know a whole lot about the scoring of tennis, so DH had to explain a lot of what was happening to me...but it was exciting to watch. DH said Agassi threw sets on purpose to make it a nail biter.

I was even more impressed with what great sportsmen they were at the end of the match.

Needless to say, our tv was tuned to USA last night until they went to CBS.

Speaking of USA & CBS, how annoying was the commentary on CBS? They talked and talked non-stop, trying to "hype" up the scenario (which didn't need any hyping). I think Patrick McEnroe should take lessons from his brother John. Ai yai yai. Sometimes those guys just need to put a sock in it and let us watch and enjoy.
