Has anyone found a reasonably priced/durable bassinet besides this one from BRU? I don't want to spend more than $70 or so. I have a pack 'n play that we'll be using upstairs, I just want something simple and portable for the 1st floor while baby is napping.

We have the Kolcraft Cuddle n'Care Bassinet from Target.

It was about 80 dollars. I am not sure we could have lived without the vibration and the ability to rock the whole bassinet. DS liked the lights on the mobile, the bears didn't really catch his attention too much.

This one is $69.99 from www.target.com Shipping is $15.96 but there are always codes to use for 10% off making the total come to $78.96.

It is so cool because it is a Bedside sleeper, bassinet and changing table all in one.

It's called the Simplicity 3-In-1 Bedside Bassinet

Let's see if this link works for you:

We also had the Simplicity 3-In-1 Bedside Bassinet like sparkle&shine and loved it. Very reasonably priced and has just as many (if not more) features than others out there :) I definitely reccommend it.

ETA- Oh and I sold it on Craiglist for $40 (it was only used for 2 months because DD started sleeping in her crib).....so I got some of my money back anyway ;)

I didn't use a bassinet, my DD slept in the bassinet part of her pack and play. However just wanted to chime in on Splimicity 3 in 1 and say how nice it is. My SIL just had a baby 3 weeks ago and I have been to her house twice now and she is using that same bassinet and I have to say what a great value. She loves it, and baby seems to love it too.

We just bought the Simplicity 3-1 from Burlington Coat Factory - love love love all the extra features - it was $79.99 - even if you'd prefer ordering from Target, you could at least check it out in person first - we love it (used it last night for my friends baby)

Bumping for more suggestions.

The nursery will be next to the master BR, but I want to have the baby sleep in the same room for the first couple months.

We have the First Years 5-1 sleep system. One of my favorite baby items. I'm so sad she's too big for it these days. We got it as a shower gift but I think it's a bit over what you wanted to spend, around $100 I believe.

we used a graco one we got at target. i think it was about $80. we were very happy with it.
DD was in it until she was a smidge over 3mos. she was gettign wayyy too big so we finally broke down and moved her to the crib. she liked it though.

We just used a swing downstairs and this chair...it lays back flat enough for a newborn and DD loved it from day one. Its worth its weight in gold!

We had this called 'Carry me near' from First Years:

We only ever used the bassinet part. The changing table part we never used, the incline feature we never used, the portable-ness we never used. It stayed next to my side of the bed, and we used it for DD's first 5 months. There's a night light that was handy some nights, especially in the beginning, and it plays white noise or a song for 10 minutes. It also vibrates, which was the only way DD would go to sleep for a while there. We were kind of lazy and used it as a crutch when it was the only thing that settled her down.
