Kathryn definitely stuck out like a sore thumb! I think she had lost 16 lbs total, which is right around the amount she lost while at the ranch. It was her attitude that really stunk though. If she was going to act like that, she should have refused to attend like that other guy!

ITA!! The only thing I kept wondering was that maybe she thought nobody would really have changed that much other than the finalists? And then when she got there and saw everyone, it must have completely deflated her and made her realize she was going to stick out badly. I just don't understand how she didn't manage to lose anymore weight after she left the ranch when she said that she was going to continue to diet and exercise?

BTW...I thought Bob was going to faint when he saw Suzy. I still say there is something there!!

I was hoping we'd see some sort of connection between them during the finale...I was watching for it, but I didn't really notice much. I still wonder if he's gay, but I kind of hope not! :p

I could've sworn I saw them hugging when they announced that Matt had won. He was embracing someone and rubbing their back as they were hugging and I'm pretty sure it was Suzy, but who knows!?!

When Bob and Jillian were brought back out for the end of the show, Bob and Suzy made a beeline for each other. Plus, I noticed that he barely took his eyes off of her the whole time. Hmmmmm....how can we find out for sure if he's gay or not??? There has to be someone who knows!

I wonder if there was some monitary incentive to show up to the reunion/finale, and that's why Katheryn went. I couldn't imagine any reason for her to go. Yeah she lost 16 lbs but she didnt' seem happy about it.

Did anyone else think that Jillian's dress was totally unflattering on her? And what was up with those wrist bands she was wearing?

I also thought it looked like Caroline (the host) was trying to look like Pam Anderson. Her hair was huge and she was showing a lot more cleavage than usual.

I thought I saw that too, but then the camera panned over & cut them off, & when it went back everyone was mostly just standing there waving at the cameras, cheering, etc.

Maybe we'll have to keep an eye out for celebrity gossip on those too...lol.

There was one part where Caroline asked Jillian a question and Jillian answered it but then my FH said to me "Tell me you didn't spend the entire time looking at her chest right then." And I said "YUP." I kept wondering if that shirt was going to just fall off! What was she thinking?!!?

About Kathryn: on her video on nbc.com (it may not still be there, I watched it a while ago) she was saying that with being an attorney and all, she couldn't find the time to work out and it was too hard to eat right. Sorry, but my sympathy doesn't go very far. I think she was embarrassed to be on the show with everyone who'd lost so much weight.

Ok, I totally think Bob is gay. The only thing I know about him was that he went to the same university that I went to and he was a cheerleader. I know male cheerleader doesn't equal gay, but since I saw him on the first season, I have always thought that he was.
I think the attraction with Suzy is that she was the only one left from his team. I mean, Jillian was hugging and kissing all over the men because they were on her team. I could be wrong, but I'm sticking with my gay-dar.

yeah, the article said Suzy says she has a crush on Matt, and Matt thinks Suzy is sooo beautiful! I think it would be great if they started dating. At least they have each other as a support system. Seems like their friends weren't very good at keeping them on track.

He sounds like a great guy!I live in Cedar Rapids and have heard Matt on one of the local radio stations numerous times, but haven't heard anything about a girlfriend. Not that he has to tell the DJs everything about his personal life, but he's been pretty open when he's been on-air.

Here's the radio station website with some pics of Matt:

(scroll down past the Biggest Loser banner and click on the "Click Here" buttons. Suzy is in quite a few of the ones from VH1; I think the blond with the long hair in some of the other pics is the morning show producer.)

I'm a big fan of this show and an even bigger lurker in this thread. But I just had to show myself and answer your question to the Matt girlfriend question. On NBC's website there's a bunch of "behind the scenes" videos and there's one where Suzy is interviewing Matt and she asks if he has a girlfriend and he says yes. Here's the link for you guys to check it out.

In US Weekly (with Brit-Brit and K-fed on the cover), there is a story on a few of the people. It says that Matt and Suzy were seen at a "romantic" dinner together in Marina del Rey and he is quoted as saying "Suzy is just beautiful" and she is quoted as saying "I have a crush on him." So.....it could be true!!!!!

It's official: Matt Hoover and Suzy Preston, who together lost a combined 252 pounds as contestants on NBC's The Biggest Loser, tell PEOPLE they're a couple.

"I think it's going to be great," says Hoover, 29, a former wrestling coach. "She is awesome."

The way they met was anything but normal. Suzy was a bespectacled 227-lbs. and Matt was a burly 339. "I saw him at his worst, absolutely," says Preston, 29. "And he saw me at my worst. He saw me sweating and passing gas."

Hoover thinks their shared experiences as finalists on Loser (he won the $250,000 grand prize, and now weighs 182 pounds; she took home $25,000 as second runner-up, and weighs 132 pounds) gives their romance a unique foundation.

"We have a lot in common. Going through something like we went through is life-changing. We are not the same people we were before all this and we are both at a point in our lives where we know what it's like to be fat and miserable – and what it's like to be happy and healthy."

Hoover, who lives in Iowa, said he is contemplating a move to be closer to Preston, a hairstylist, in Seattle.

Okay, I knew this would come up today. The local radio station had this in their "Z's sleaze" (entertainment gossip) spot and they called Matt to see if it was true.

He said it was absolutely FALSE and that he's very happily involved with someone. So he does have a girlfriend.

Unless he's not telling the truth (which I doubt, he's been really good to this radio station and vice versa) or can't say anything about it until the issue hits the stands, I'll believe him and the radio station.

PS - he's also going to guest DJ in January sometime when one of the DJs is on vacation. When I know the date, I'll post the link--you can listen to the station over the internet.

This station is the station in his hometown area that has followed him since the beginning of The Biggest Loser. He's been on air many, many times and thanked them publicly on air (and on the TV show when he said there were thousands of people back home in Iowa watching him). The Morning Show Producer went to LA with him for the finale of The Biggest Loser. He's been back on-air (at his request) because he enjoyed it so much. This is the station I listen to, and I've been on-air with the DJs, so they wouldn't be making it up. They would be the first to congratulate him if it is true.

I also said in my previous post he may not be able to say anything until the issue is released but this isn't just "some random radio station."

This is the week that Suzy and Matt article comes out in People. They had a little blurb about them a couple of weeks ago and then another larger article about Matt, Suzy and Seth (??) in the most recent issue. The one from a couple of weeks ago was just a one pager, with photo of them on the beach and a short column. It was all about their new relationship.

In this week's issue they said that Matt and Suzy started hanging out during the 8th week of the show. Talking walks together and getting to know eachother. So this has been going on for a LOT longer than we suspected!:D

The family who lost the largest percentage of weight after the 11 days at the ranch won a vacation to a spa, & then when they came back for the final weigh-in months later, the family with the greatest percentage of weightloss won $50,000.

Great show - I'm looking forward to the engaged couple edition that starts next Wed! :)

I could not believe the final results! The parents looked so good. I couldn't believe how fit and toned the blonde mother was! Did you see all those muscles in her legs and how flat her stomach is. I was almost in tears I was so proud of them. I thought it was cute how the mom commented that they looked like they were in fat suits when they were looking back at the beginning. You could see the shock in their faces.
And the other father was so adorable! I loved that he started a walking club at work. They were all just so commited. I just kept looking at their determination and thinking I can't even get myself to walk for 1/2 an hour at lunch! It makes me want to get my butt in gear.

wow, those families last night did awesome! I really like this new concept, keeps you wanting to go back every week to watch. Instead of seeing people fighting and some getting kicked off for not loosing more than 10 lbs a week, you get to see a whole family work hard at home and all come out winners in the end.

Also excellent for corn-on-the-cob...melts right away. :)

Just watched the show over the weekend; I absolutely loved it and could not believe how great both of the families looked at the end. The show is so inspirational and motivating to me! I want to lose 15-20 pounds for an upcoming trip to Las Vegas and watching these people do it made me realize I can too. Oh...and I constantly have that theme song from the show playing in my head now; "What have you done today to make you feel proud??...."

I just got myself so excited. I thought The Biggest Loser was on last night and thought I missed it because of work. So, I get on the computer and get on the NBC site to see if they would show pictures from last night's episode. And what do I see? TONIGHT on The Biggest Loser... YAY! I finally watched the show over the weekend. I really liked the format of the show...until I found out that last week was the only week they are going to show the 2 hours together. Checking tvguide I saw the Part I this week and Part II next week. Unfortunately I don't think I will be sticking around. I hate 'to be continued'. It just looses something (no pun intended) in translation....and anyways, Wednesdays are for Lost and I don't see Tivoing the Biggest Looser 2 weeks in a row and then not watching it until after the 2nd one airs.

Last night's episode was good! I too wish that they could have just done another two hour episode instead of making us wait till next week. Anyway, I got all teary-eyed several times throughout the show..especially during the weigh-ins! I can't believe how much weight Steve and Sarah lost in just two weeks! Amazing!

This show continues to keep me motivated to keep up my diet and exercise routine. I love it. :)

I agree! You can tell how much Steve and Sarah really love each other and really want this. Rasha seems like she's been given everything she's ever wanted and seems like a poor sport. Go Red Team!

This show definitely keeps me motivated. I chose this show over Lost last night, and I never thought I would!

Does anyone happen to know the name of the theme song for the show and who sings it? I liked the show last night. I want Sarah and Steve to win, but they did already win a honeymoon and $5k. I cried when he proposed, as well as many other points in the show.

Count me in on the "not fond of Jillian's style" thing! I was upset about the whole scene with her yelling at Sarah not to hold on when she was struggling & freaking out on the treadmill - I think I would have had a meltdown if I'd been in her shoes & had Jillian bitching at me like that, too! However you're right that her teams do usually do well, so I guess it works for some people. Bob's training style is *much* more to my liking, though. ;)

I was surprised, though, at the feast their families prepared for their homecoming after they left the ranch. Why on earth would you prepare a big buffet full of rich foods to welcome your children home from the first part of a major weightloss effort?!? I'm glad they showed restraint & stuck to the few items that were healthy, but still.

Now see, I thought the exact opposite! I thought Rasha had the nasty attitude. They put the camera on her face several times during Sara and Steve's weigh-in, and when she realized that they had been beat, she had a nasty, pouty look on her face that she quickly tried to change into a smile when she realized the camera was on her. I thought she acted like a spoiled brat through the whole thing.

I agree, Southerner. Wasn't impressed at all with Kelly. She actually looked like she had gained some weight back since her show aired. And she needs some major work on her triceps, they were sagging all over the place.

I don't think any amount of tricep work is going to get rid of that. She probably has great muscle tone there, but the skin was just too stretched. I think she needs to get the skin removed.

My brother had lost 120 pounds and he had a lot of really loose skin around his stomach and legs and ended up getting the stuff from his stomach taken off. Luckily for him, because of his extreme weight loss, it was covered by his medical plan.

I have to say I am rooting for the diner family- the other one reminds me too much of my extended family- all the arguing and negative reinforcement. Damn Italians! (I'll probably get slammed for that, but I am Italian:rolleyes: )

I'm rooting for the diner family too. I like their family dynamic a little better than the other family. From the previews, the Italian man (Robby?) loses a TON of weight!!!

I was overweight all through elementary and junior high school; so I totally felt for Emily and the other teenage girl from the Italian family. Kids are just so damn mean and cruel to anyone who doesn't fit the social norm. I hope that both girls succeed in losing the weight and get to go shopping for all of the cute little teeny-bopper outfits after the show's over.

Looking forward to seeing which family wins; but I really think it will end up being the diner family. :D

I wasn't expecting the Blue team to loose that much weight, they didnt *look* that dramatically smaller. But I guess its not comparable to the other family team from a few episodes ago - where they all *looked* skinny.

Red team didn't impress me at all, they didnt seem very proud of each other, or very affectionate.

Ugh, what a bunch of ingrates. I can't believe that two of the people on the red team only lost about 25 lbs. I know numbers aren't everything, but they have what, 5 or 6 months to work out and eat right, plus they're given everything they need!? Jillian (who I don't even like) tries to give Alexa healthy eating tips, and she argues with her? Way to waste a great opportunity.

The mom and older daughter on the blue team were disappointing to me, too. THey lost more than I thought they'd lose, but had terrible attitudes IMO. I'm very disappointed in both families.

Season 3 is starting on Sept. 20th! Everybody ready?

Changes I've heard about:

a) Jillian is gone, with a new blonde woman trainer in her place. Kind of makes me sad. Jillian was a hard ass, but still a softy when it came to personal issues. I liked her a lot. Anybody know why she's not returning? Was it her choice, or the producers?

b) The cast members--they have one person from each of the 50 states. Makes for a huge cast! I'm guessing they will have some sort of massive elimination toward the beginning. Anybody have details on this?
