i've never stayed there, but i've enjoyed their casino, restaurants and shopping immensely :) - i would think their rooms and ammenities were just as nice.

there is a review here of the ammenities. I have seen the show on Discovery Channel and the hotel looks great, including the rooms.

Hey there. We live in Green Valley, just up the hill. When we were building this home just over 2 years ago and GVR was new, we stayed there ALL the time. It is one of the nicest Casino's in Las Vegas and has been growing exponentially since it first opened. The rooms are big and spacious, clean and much nicer than most hotel rooms people are used to (think 5 stars). The restaurants there are great and since opening The District (which is attached) there are now even more things to do, places to eat, etc. If you have any specific questions about the place, I'd be pleased to answer.

ETA: We still book rooms there for family when they come to visit.

LisaJoy Do you think it would be an okay hotel for a girls trip? My mom and two friends are going there in Jan or Feb. We have all stayed on the strip several times and I thought this would be a nice change plus we like to do the spa thing. Is it pretty close to the strip? I think their website said they have a shuttle that goes to Mandalay Bay. TIA!

WestieMomma it would be perfect for a girls trip for something a little more relaxing and slower paced, I think and it's probably only a 10 minute freeway drive to the strip. Everything is a little more "high-class" there and their Whiskey Bar is both a great indoor and outdoor club, they have some really good food choices and the Drop Bar gets nice and lively as well. The pool is really nice and I've been to the spa twice; once before they re-did it and once after (both times for massage). I have to admit, though, while the new spa is really hip and chic, I've had 2 of the worst massages there ever (but I might be biased since I am a massage therapist). If you're not picky about that like I am then I think you will love it. Other options to consider are The Hotel at Mandalay bay - Blows any hotel I've stayed at on the strip away! All rooms are suites but they up-graded us to an even bigger one for free. I didn't use the spa there but everything else is first class. And just incase you're a massage whore (like me) the best place for a massage is at the Paris Hotel by a woman named Eli.

Thanks so much Lisajoy. It sounds like it would fit the bill just right! The only LV spa I have been to was back in May when we stayed at TI...their spa really needs updating but I got a fab massage from a therapist named Pierre...totally recommend him.
