What in the hell is going on with her damn belly.

I've never been pregnant so correct me if I'm wrong but don't mom-to-be begin to swell a bit in the hands and face as they approach delivery? If she's truly that pregnant(which who even knows anymore), why is only her belly changing and not much else.

Not necessarily. At the end I got swollen feet and ankles, but my hands and face never swelled up.

Ah, okay. It's just so weird though. ITA with everyone about how her hips and thighs look considerably larger but I am so baffled with the fluctuating belly.

maybe her hip and thighs are bigger because shes not at the gym every day working out, for the first time in her life.

I agree those belly's are totally different and there is not way you could be bending down that way and leaning your elbows on your knees. NO way I have pictures in my 7 and 8th pictures actually trying to do that as a documentary of how my body had changed and what I could not longer do.

That belly is sooooo fake man!! I am now truly conviced its a fake. SHe has gained weight but thats probably part of the plan so she looks more pregnant.

Not everyones faces swell up with pregnancy but unless you are really fit and like not gain that much weight your face does change IMO at least slightly. You just dont notice that much cause you see yourself everyday and your family too probably doesnt really notice.

I had two friends who I didnt see for a year and then visited right in their last month and although they werent swollen you could just tell they were pregnant something about the face a glow etc.

Anyway back to Katie its sooooooo fake and she has just stopped dieting.

Her belly looks sooo unnatural! My best friend was *VERY* PG in her last month (meaning she gained quite a bit of weight) and even her belly didn't look that large or high. Katie's belly just looks off for some reason, it's so high and sticks out very far...it just doesn't have that natural beautiful PG belly look.

So I wonder what the whole point of faking a stupid pregnancy is all about. Does KH think this is helping her career? I really wonder that.

I saw a preview tonight for MI3 or whatever. I hope everyone in America boycotts that stupid movie. I hate TC.

If you look at pics from her in the beginning to now, though, I can see a difference in her face. It does look a little bit pudgier. Although I have to agree with many others. Her belly is looking way to high and huge to be real.

I will go back to a comment that I made earlier in this thread (or maybe it was the poll thread?) where I said I believe that they took her off all diet restrictions and handed her a cheeseburger.:p

I've never been shy about my complete disdain for TC (beady rat eyes, unibrow, maniacal laugh, complete lack of sex appeal, inability to act well, general creepiness etc)...

However, the saddest thing about the whole situation is that KH used to have so much potential. She was making her mark in film doing interesting roles, keeping her personal life private, seemed to have her head on straight. Even if she ditches Mr. Ick, she will be stuck with him in her life forever because of this baby. Ugh!

These days it looks like she has "REGRET" written across her forhead, and she's just got this pleading look in her eyes like a kidnapped person does in the hands of their adbuctor. She has no control, even though she has the ability to move around. Sad sad sad sad sad.

She's wearing sunglasses so you couldn't read her eyes. The eyes give away everything.

Those glasses remind me of the fly. Very unflattering. I liked you better before you went hollywood, Katie!

Laff, You just know that Trey and Matt will do an episode where Chef converts to Scientology and then is abducted by aliens or something. That's how they'll explain him not bein on the show anymore. I mean common, they just have to have the last word!! :p

I didn't see where this was posted, but the person that played Chef is a Scientologist. Here is an article on CNN:

LOS ANGELES, California (Reuters) -- Soul singer Isaac Hayes may have quit his job as the voice of Chef on "South Park" after a disagreement over religion, but his character will live on when the satiric cable TV cartoon returns to Comedy Central this week, the network said Monday.

Hayes and his "South Park" alter ego are at the center of an ongoing flap over an episode last November that poked fun at the Church of Scientology and its celebrity adherents, including actor Tom Cruise.

The tenth season of "South Park" will launch Wednesday with a new episode titled "The Return of Chef!", marking the "triumphant homecoming" of lusty school cafeteria cook James "Chef" McElroy to the show, the network said in a statement.

Hayes, 63, himself a follower of Scientology, surprised producers a week ago by announcing he was leaving the series because he objected to its "inappropriate ridicule" of religion, though he made no reference to the show's spoof of Scientology last fall...

Here is the link to the whole thing...

Last night on ET they have video footage of them at the basketball game that was supposedly taken this past weekend. Again they showed Katie leaning forward on her forearms. I am only 21 weeks and leaning forward has been uncomfortable for a long time - I can't eat with my food on the coffee table, it has to be on my lap. Same with my laptop.

THose pictures from a few pages earlier in the thread which show her belly so incredibly high - looks pretty fake to me.

But even with all this, I just can't see it being fake. If it is, then SOMEONE out there is carrying a baby that they are going to pass off as theirs...I can't imagine a surrogate carrying their child, which would mean that she can't have kids either. And if that is the case, if he supposedly hand-picked his fake girlfriend, wouldn't he pick one that could actually carry his kid (or a kid)...or the $ could have been so great that she just needed to fake a pregnancy and not actually carry it.

I wonder if he forced Nicole into something like that? ... Maybe if the baby she miscarried truly wasn't his, he threatened to go public with the info unless she gave him sole custody of the kids. She would have been ruined and humiliated beyond belief.

This is from way back, but... really? In this day and age, I'm not so sure that'd be such a career roadbump beyond the initial wildfire of gossip. Especially with all that's happened with TC now, I don't think anyone would blame her. ;)

IIRC, Nicole talked about her children in her most recent interview, close to the oscars. They have JOINT custody, and they usually attend school on the set of her movie, or have tutors. I think NK is a much more low key celeb, and TC is not. Nicole refered to them as her children, she never once referred to them as her adopted children, even though the interviewer brought that up. Just because you only hear or see his children when he is around, doesn't mean NK isn't an involved parent or that TC has sole custody. I'll try to find a link to that interview with NK... it was really a great interview. She refused to get involved or attach herself to TC and his craziness when the interviewer tried to bring it up.

I think she just prefers to keep them out of the limelight. I have seen pictures of them together but not often. Maybe the only time TC has the kids are when we see them on camera.

Exactly! I think they spend a lot of down time in Tennessee, where KU has a home he refers to has *their* home. Usually the only time camera's are flashing around there are close to the country music awards. They just don't tend to lay in wait for you to move etc. like they do in LA. NK has said she is very protective of her children and their private life.... It makes perfect sense to me that NK would be like that.... and crazy Tom would not be.

If you haven't watched last nights South Park yet, semi spoiler below...

It wasn't directly stated that it was about Scientology, but it was definitely inferred. Chef joined the "Super Adventure Club" which brainwashes their members into molesting children around the world. They used previous voice clips of Chef saying things like "I wanna make love to the children" In the end they killed him off, but then showed the Adventure CLub trying to resurrect him like Darth Vader. It was soooooo funny!

I was just looking at the Brangelina thread and it got me to thinking about the differences between the two pregnancies, even though they're only a couple of months apart. Angelina hid her belly for awhile, but once they announced the pregnancy, she's always looked to be a consistent size. Her belly is always there, and seems to be growing at a normal rate. The timing of the PG adds up.

Katie's belly is always looking different. She already had a big bump w/ belly button popped out when they announced way back in the beginning of October, and she's still PG almost six months later. Her bump was looking small, and when everyone started speculating, all of sudden her bump was absolutely HUGE. She's still flying all over the globe and going out all over the place with Tom. Is that normal for someone about the give birth at any moment? There are just so many wierd things going on with them.

I think it would depending on how she is carrying the baby and what type of pants she is wearing. It looks like she is wearing an undershirt tucked in to cover her belly. In that case, she could be wearing really low rise pants. That is the case only if the baby has not dropped (into birthing place).

FWIW, her belly looks like one that a colleague of mine had when she was pregnant. S's belly was high and she had gained no weight except in this enormous basketball belly. It actually looked very fake. If I had not known S, I would be more skeptical of Katie.

All of this makes me wonder....when the baby does arrive, what will TC do for publicity?
He has been so guarded of his children's privacy, but so out there with this pregnancy/relationship.
Must put him in such a pickle; what to do? Let this baby have the same level of privacy that he has afforded his other children, or totally give in to the media monster that he seems unable to live without.

OK, compare the pic of her with the fake smile & the turtleneck in post #1569 (http://www.constantchatter.com/showpost.php?p=630082&postcount=1569) to the pic of her sitting down at Yahoo in post 1527 (http://www.constantchatter.com/showpost.php?p=625267&postcount=1527) and her standing there at that baseball game in post 1484 (http://www.constantchatter.com/showpost.php?p=616393&postcount=1484). HOW does her body size change so much? Even if she's leaning forward in that 1st one, how can she look so different?

(For the record I'm sitting here trying to lean forward & back to see if I can get my belly to do the same thing, and it just won't, no matter my position! :p )

Okay, I've never been that pregnant, so I don't know, but...you see how the front of her jeans is lying flat, and then there's the huge bump under the shirt? Is that normal? I really don't know.

It just seems strange that at this point in her pregnancy she'd be carrying that way. Sure, some women do carry high, but this close to her due date?

The pants are kind of weird. Yeah, she could just be wearing really low rise pants, but what the heck is holding them up? I have to hike my maternity jeans up over my belly all the time (same thing with my scrub pants at work). They slide down over my belly and then there's nothing there to hold them up. Katie has no hips to hold hers up. Think of one of those guys with a big beer belly and no butt-you know how their pants are always falling down? It's the same kinda thing.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that at 7 months, it would be nearly impossible or at least extremely uncomfortable to wear very low-rise jeans. As huge as she is supposed to be based on the latest pics, yeah, the jeans look weird.

October2002Bride
03-24-2006, 11:40 AM
From what I remmember you arent supposed to be wearing tight lowrise jeans because there is a major blood vein that could be comprimised and therefore lessen the blood flow to the uterus. I dont remmember the name of the vein but, I do remmember reading about it and my Dr. telling me about it. Also you have to watch the way you sleep so the weight of your uterus doesnt fall on the vein and again compromise the flow.

Its been a while but I do remmember about taking care of that.

PS it seems she is always wearing this white kind of full undergarment under her clothes. It's like scoop neck? she was wearing it at the baseball game where she looks huge and it seems to be the same type under her shirts lately if you look closely. I wonder if thats the "aparatus" or contraption they are using for the fake belly.

See, the pants thing - Unless you have a really long torso....and to most people those jeans would be just barely covering the pubes, but to her there's more room there?? I don't know? I don't remember Katie ever having a really long torso??
I know there are some women who gain just in their bellies and could wear their normal jeans all the way through pregnancy - but it does just seem so odd.

Lizard

I'm 5'9" with a long torso, and wore low-rise non maternity pants for a while since I didn't get a noticeable belly very fast. But as I started getting that belly, they cut right into the lowest part of it. Not to mention the baby HATED it and kicked about 5x as much when I wore them. :D I am carrying pretty low, I guess that could be the difference, but at least for me those low-rise pants can be downright painful. I would have loved to wear low-rise for longer, but it just wasn't happening.

Katie's always had that flat thing in the front of her pants, it's really weird. I know everyone's different, but my baby belly starts at practically my hair line.... no room below that for anything!

From the New York Post

Tom Spied on Nicole During Divorce

March 25, 2006 -- Nicole Kidman was well aware that Tom Cruise was using a private detective to wiretap her phones during their 2001 divorce. Kidman hired private eye Richie Di Sabatino, who told Page Six last week, "We swept her phones and put on an encryption device, so she couldn't be wiretapped . . . We tried to keep one step ahead." But Kidman knew that Cruise's private detective, Anthony Pellicano, was a resourceful opponent. One pal said: "During her divorce, she would talk to friends on the phone and every couple of minutes break into the conversation and say, 'So, Tom, are you listening,' or 'Am I saying what you want me to say, Tom?' She knew he was either tapping her phone or trying to. She was no dummy. She not only knew about it but taunted Tom." In fact, Pellicano may have been successful in his phone snooping. Kidman has been questioned by the FBI in the Pellicano investigation because the feds found a recording of her talking to Cruise in computers they seized from Pellicano's office in 2002. Di Sabatino suggests the tape was from Cruise's phone.

Based on those photos that show exposed belly, I think she is definitely knocked up.

Despite hoping, the Boob Fairy never visited me when I was pregnant...I stayed the same 34B. When my milk came in, I had huge breasts for the first time in my life, but when the supply regulated they went back to their normal size--only floppier (dang it). So, I don't take breast size to be any serious evidence of pregnancy.

While I do think that KH's belly does look a lot different from photo to photo, I can say that certain clothes always emphasized my belly, while others de-emphasized it. Still, I wouldn't rule out the use of extra padding in order to throw off the media as to how far along she actually is. Given how enamored TC seems to be with being in the press, he may realize that all this speculation about the pregnancy is a sure fire way to keep him on the covers of magazines.

TomKat: The Latest

As Katie Holmes enters what seems like her 23rd month of incubating the progeny of Tom Cruise, there are signs -- some literal -- that the big arrival may be imminent. On Saturday, the glassy-eyed, conspiracy theory-surrounded starlet was thrown a baby shower, purportedly at the Scientology Center in Los Angeles, according to TMZ.com.

There's no word on what gifts Katie received at the event (a child-sized e-meter, perhaps? A onesie with the face of L. Ron Hubbard on it? Maybe a Xenu pop-up book?), but she was apparently feeling chipper enough after the festivities to perambulate near Cruise's Beverly Hills mansion with her mom and future mother-in-law in tow, according to photo agency Splash, which was on hand to document the nighttime walk.

When asked about the shower, Holmes, in loose-fitting pants, eight pounds of bangs and a white top straining at the seams from her about-to-blow belly, reportedly responded that it was "lovely."

Cruise opted out of the gift-giving in favor of sitting on the sidelines of son Connor's baseball game, where a crush of paparazzi captured his every cheer, says TMZ.

And amid swirling rumors that Holmes may deliver at Cruise's ultra-private 90210 digs using the L. Ron Hubbard-approved method of no painkillers and no noise, Splash caught large signs being delivered to the mansion this weekend, one of which was cryptically emblazoned with the words, "... but be silent and make all physical movements slow and understandable... " Hey, your guess is as good as ours.

Meanwhile, Star magazine is certain it knows the date of the "Dianetics"-devoted duo's aisle walk, maintaining they're planning to get hitched on July 4, just a day after Cruise's 44th birthday.

If accurate (and that remains a really big if), the ceremony would fall exactly one year after they were supposedly hitched (according to the National Enquirer) in a Scientology ceremony aboard the luxury ship the Freewinds, which doubles as a church.

Star says the long-delayed trip to the altar will take place at the Scientology Center, with other celebrity devotees in attendance and church bigwig David Miscavige performing the vow-swap duties.

Well I guess Tommy is gonna silence Katie during the birth by waving these signs at her...

Have seen this story from several sources this morning:

Holmes gearing up for silent birth

Mum-to-be Katie Holmes is gearing up for the silent birth of her first child after Scientologists were spotted carrying signs into her home, reminding her to keep quiet during labour.

The Batman Begins actress, 26, is awaiting the arrival of her baby with fiance Tom Cruise any day now at their Beverly Hills, California mansion.

Since she began dating Cruise last April, Holmes has abandoned her Catholic beliefs to become a Scientologist like Cruise.

Late Scientology creator L Ron Hubbard urged mothers to keep as quiet as possible during labour so they do not traumatise the child.

On Monday, huge placards saying: "Be silent and make all physical movements slow and understandable," were carried into the couple's home, to be displayed around the house to remind Holmes to deal with the extreme pain of childbirth quietly.

Last year, Cruise attempted to appease outraged critics of the bizarre birthing method, insisting Holmes can make a little noise.

He said: "There have been misinterpretations that the woman can't make any noise, and that's just not true. It's nutty. No, but just calm and quiet. I want Katie to be as comfortable as possible."

ETA: Just realized this is very similar to the story posted above... sorry!

Okay, this is a little crazy...

People hate Tom Cruise more than Saddam

Tom Cruise is even less popular than Saddam Hussein. The "Mission Impossible" star was voted the person people would least like to go camping overnight with in a recent poll. The actor took a massive 41 per cent of the vote in the survey, conducted by Stuff magazine, ahead of the Iraqi dictator.

It is not the only unwanted accolade Cruise has scooped in recent weeks. The Hollywood heavyweight recently suffered the embarrassment of "winning" a Razzie for his outrageous behavior in 2005.

He was awarded the newly-created Most Tiresome Tabloid Target prize at the ceremony - which acknowledges the year's worst films and stars.

Cruise - who is engaged to pregnant actress Katie Holmes - was given the unwanted accolade for his embarrassing behavior last year, which included the now infamous "couch jumping" incident on the "Oprah Winfrey Show," proposing to Holmes at the Eiffel Tower and his gushing pregnancy announcement. Unsurprisingly, Cruise did not attend the ceremony to collect his award.

Katie Holmes to enjoy iPod during birth
Cruise supplies 'calming music'
By Lester Haines
Published Wednesday 29th March 2006 10:48 GMT

Tom Cruise has given pregnant Katie Holmes an iPod packed with her fave tunes - to help her keep schtum during the forthcoming birth of their child, UK tabloid The Sun reports.

The thoughtful gift comes after the delivery to the couple's home of six-foot "birthing boards" reminding Holmes to keep her trap shut during the delivery. The Church of Scientology - of which Cruise is a member - believes that mum screaming during the sprog-dropping process is traumatic to the infant. Accordingly, one of the boards reads: "Be silent and make all physical movements slow and understandable."

A source close to the couple told the paper: "Tom gave Katie an iPod loaded with 300 of her favourite songs. He wants her to listen to calming music — but to use earphones so there's no noise in the delivery room." ®
What a guy!

Hey has anyone seen the trailer for Scary Movie 4 (http://movies.yahoo.com/feature/scarymovie4.html) yet? They parody WOTW and TC's interview with Oprah. :D

What I'd give to know what Pat Kingsley thinks of all this....

(She's the high power publicist who got booted in favor of his sister, and, given the correlation between her departure and his sudden craziness, seems more and more to have been the only reason we all thought he was kind of normal.)

Or maybe,

OMG! He can't be serious? An ipod to take away the pain of birth?!?!? When I was in labor, I couldn't focus on anything but the pain. Yeah, the ipod will take the sting of the pain away. Why doesn't TC just drug her and they can remove the baby from her womb like what The Others wanted to do to Claire on Lost?

Katie, I hope you scream bloody murder during the birth. You can start by railing at that jerky fiance of yours (f words would work fine thank you).

How could you not speak to your beautiful baby for 7 days?! I couldn't do it.

Don't feel bad. See, I still like movies with Tom Cruise in them. I've always been a fan and I'm attached to the characters that he plays (i.e. Maverick, Jerry Maguire, etc.) I separate that from the actor that plays them. Yeah, I think TC has gone a bit nuts in the past year or two (or maybe he's always been like that), but that doesn't ruin his movies for me at all. I'm totally excited about MI:3, not just because Tom is in it but a crapload of other people that I love (Jonathan Rhys-Meyers, Keri Russell, not to mention it's directed by J.J. Abrams.). I can't wait!

And, on another note, I really don't feel like we know the whole story on Tom's personal life. What we are seeing is how the media portrays it. I agree that the info that's coming out seems so crazy and makes me feel bad for Katie too, but I take it all with a grain of salt. I really and truly hope they are both happy together and just accept the fact that we may never know the truth. (Although it's still fun to guess. Hehe. :p )

Some of it could be just the media's portrayal of Cruise, but his comments on Brooke Shields, about PPD, were definitely his own.

Some of it could be just the media's portrayal of Cruise, but his comments on Brooke Shields, about PPD, were definitely his own.Oh, I definitely agree. I think those comments he made are what really make me not like him now (especially since my mom sufferes from depression and medication basically changed her life). I guess I just meant that those comments combined with everything else makes him seem really really out there, which he may very well be, it's just that not everything we read about him (and Katie) is necessarily true. I dunno. Sorry, I'm not making very much sense. :p Sometimes I wonder if celebs get a kick out of seeing what tabloids write about them knowing full well that half of it isn't true. Or maybe it just pisses them off. Who knows. *shrug*

ETA ~ Ok, I just thought of a better way to frame it. Because of the craziness that we've seen with TC so far (couch jumping, Matt Lauer interview, PPD comments), I feel like he and Katie are already in the spotlight and under scrutiny so any little tiny hint of something else happening that may be controversial, gets blown out of proportion by the media in some instances. It's like they are lurking in the shadows, hungry for any sort of scoop, ready to jump to conclusions when they might not have all the facts.

DH and I saw MI:1 last weekend (I can't help it, I love action movies). I could swear that in the one scene, where he survived the plan foul-ups and he's talking to the boss in the restaurant, that I could see a heavily made-up cold sore on his lip, like Katie's been photographed with. I rewound like six times before DH got annoyed with me for obsessing over TC's lip funk.

Remember back in the day when neither Tom Cruise nor Michael Jackson appeared to be crazy? Those were good times.

Last night on one of the evening gossip shows (don't know which one, I get them all mixed up:rolleyes: ), they highlighted a new DVD coming out. It was something about the most interesting interviews from the Merv Griffin Show. The clip they showed was Tom Cruise's interview and OMG, he was so young and so different than he is now. You could still see the appeal that he used to have before he went crazy. It reminded me why I used to like him so much. And it kind of made me sad that he's went from having all of that potential to what he is now. :(

The photos with her "smiling" are so sad. It is like she knows she made a mistake getting involved with TC, but she is trapped. :(

Renee, you aren't supposed to quote pics. That eats up Sarah's bandwidth on Photobucket. Ooops....sorry!

Hey there! I'm not a regular contributor to this thread, but wandered in because I wondered if they had their baby, yet. Anyway, thought I would play along. I really despise the man, but he has been in some pretty entertaining movies. Actually, I have to admit that A Few Good Men is one of my all time favorite movies. :o

Gosh, I would have thought that he had made more movies. My guilty pleasure on the list is Cocktail.:o
Also, I believe my husband & I are the only people who actually enjoyed Eyes Wide Shut. I think he did some of his best acting with Jack in A Few Good Men, which is one of my favorite movies.

lurker coming out of the woodwork--I was a teen in the late 80s and actually LIKED Tom but I wouldn't say I was obsessed. I obviously liked his earlier "more normal" movies better I guess. :)

War of the Worlds (2005)
Collateral (2004)
The Last Samurai (2003) - Ehh, this was ok. Another scuzzy looking TC movie. In a historical context, this also reminds me of "Manifest Destiny." But I won't get into the political aspects of that!

Austin Powers in Goldmember (2002) (cameo)
Minority Report (2002)

Vanilla Sky (2001) - I had the unfortunate experience of watching this one. Yuck Yuck Yuck. Penelope wasn't as great as the press makes her out to be. The movie made no sense. I want those 2 hours of my life back!

Mission: Impossible II (2000) - I watched this because I'm a John Woo fan. Not for TC. He looked scuzzy here!

Magnolia (1999)
Eyes Wide Shut (1999) - Didn't watch it and have no interest in it. The descriptions in the mags makes this sound sick.

Jerry Maguire (1996) - This was actually very good. You can catch an early Renee Zellweger here. Although I have to agree w/ the PP that his rants now creeps me out.

Mission: Impossible (1996)

Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles (1994) - Bleech. Blond Tom? That was a yucky movie. But I guess he was in character since he's a blood sucker in real life! :p

The Firm (1993) - This was ok but it wasn't an exact replica of the book. They changed the ending!

A Few Good Men (1992) - I enjoyed the ensemble case (Kevin Bacon, Jack Nicolson, was Cuba Gooding Jr there too?). I'm a trial buff so I really liked the court scenes as well.

Far and Away (1992) - Saw bits of it on tv (Have ya figured out that I've gotten most of my TC fix via free TV?). Not impressed. Surprisingly (or maybe not), he and Nicole had ZERO chemistry. That's in all their movies together!

Days of Thunder (1990)
Born on the Fourth of July (1989)

Rain Man (1988) - My all time fav TC movie. But I have to admit that I basically watched it for Dustin Hoffman. The subject of autism was really fascinating.

Young Guns (1988)

Cocktail (1988) - Seen bits of it on tv but I thankfully skipped the whole thing. Based on the bits I've seen, the whole movie was boring.. Kokomo still makes me want to run the other way!

The Color of Money (1986) - Anthor big deal, I don't get it movie. The plot wasn't really good.

Top Gun (1986) - Saw this and while he looked good. The movie wasn't that good. Just didn't get it. BTW, those of you who mentioned Goose, he's none other than Dr Green (Anthony Edwards) of ER fame. His "wife" was played by an unknown Meg Ryan. How's that for trivia?

Legend (1985)
All the Right Moves (1983)

Risky Business (1983) - Saw this and besides the underpants scene, didn't see why this was a big deal.

Losin' It (1983) - Vaguely remember this w/ Shelly Long. Movie not really memorable though.

The Outsiders (1983) - Seen this at the gym. Not impressed. Did anyone notice he had bad teeth then?

Taps (1981) - He was a supporting player but I remembered he played a nut!

Endless Love (1981)

I too was a teen in the 80's and I admit I've seen quite a few TC movies in my day (stopping after that postpartum tirade. I was actually very preggers when he was ranting away at Access Hollywood last year. His stupid comments upset me to no end!). I've bolded the ones I've seen w/ some comments.

ETA: Although I quoted Sophia, those are actually my comments! Sorry for the confusion.

[B]Mission: Impossible (1996)
Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles (1994)
The Firm (1993)
A Few Good Men (1992)
Far and Away (1992)
Days of Thunder (1990)
Born on the Fourth of July (1989)

Young Guns (1988)

Losin' It (1983)
The Outsiders (1983)

And after reviewing this list, I still think he's nutty but many of these films were great. I especially liked Vanilla Sky, Rain Man and The Firm.

Tom Cruise Says Marriage Can Wait
BERLIN Apr 3, 2006 (AP)— American actor Tom Cruise told Germany's leading tabloid in its Monday edition that he wanted to tie the knot this summer with fiancee Katie Holmes, after the birth of their baby and the upcoming release of his new film, "Mission Impossible III."

Cruise was in Germany to plug the film on the country's popular "Wetten Dass …" ("I'll Bet …") TV show. He said on the show Saturday that two pilots were at the ready to fly him home should Holmes go into labor.

"If Katie calls, I'm gone," Cruise said, insisting that he wanted to be present at the birth of their first child.

Cruise confirmed to Bild that he and Holmes planned to marry in the coming months.

"First the baby, then the film," he was quoted as saying. "Then, in summer, we want to get married. I won't let this woman get away."

Cruise is both starring in and co-producing the third installment in the "Mission Impossible" series, filmed in China and Italy. The film is due to be released on May 5, 2006.

Katie will have to have the baby soon. She needs to be able to be at the premiere of MI 3 looking good. She just looks so tired. I guess that could be from pregnancy or dealing with Tom.

I'd be very upset if DH went overseas, and I'm only 25 1/2 weeks. But then, I'm not married to Tom Cruise, you know? Maybe it's a nice break for her.

Yeah...she was probably like "Go, get out of here, do your thing" Maybe she'll be gone when he gets back???

Risky Business

I am hanging my head in shame. I've never considered myself a TC fan. Guess I just went for the hype movies.

I'm betting that they never get married. Katie probably said, okay, I'll play incubator for your alien baby, but there's no way I'm pretending to pledge to love you forever!

BERLIN, Germany (AP) -- Tom Cruise has told Germany's leading tabloid that he and Katie Holmes want to tie the knot this summer, after the birth of their baby and the release of his new movie, "Mission: Impossible III."

Cruise was in the country to promote the film on the popular "Wetten Dass ... (I'll Bet ...)" TV show. He said on the show Saturday that two pilots were at the ready to fly him home should Holmes go into labor.

"If Katie calls, I'm gone," the 43-year-old actor said.

Holmes, 27, is in the final stages of her pregnancy with the couple's first child.

Cruise confirmed to Bild in Monday's editions that he and Holmes plan to wed in the coming months. They have been engaged since June.

"First the baby, then the film," he was quoted as saying. "Then, in summer, we want to get married. I won't let this woman get away."

"Mission: Impossible III" will be released May 5.

Okay, I guess I have seen a lot of them. I was a teenager in the 80s. Even though I thought he was hot in Top Gun when I was 13, the majority of these movies I did not see just because he was in them. And pretty much I haven't really liked any of his movies I have seen since The Firm except for Mission Impossible 1. I almost didn't see War of the Worlds just because he WAS in it, but DH wanted to.

I have this idea in my head about Tom using manipulation and suggestion techniques to make Katie think that every decision is made by both of them 50 / 50.

* Trip to Germany? Probably kneels down, hold her hands, looks her directly in the eyes: "Katie, one word from you and I'm not going anywhere!" He probably says that while he has one foot in the airplane already, all the public appearances have been planned and both of them know that he'll go.

* Scientology? Same thing: "Katie, you can just give it a try and if you don't like it, it's not an issue, forgotten!" and hands her a calendar full of daily auditing sessions.

* Baby? "Katie, we do this anyway you want. Only if you want the baby, we'll have it!" And while he says this the room is full of aliens and nurses with big needles ...

I don't feel sorry for Katie though ... This is what she bargained for. She wanted the childhood fantasy, the A celebrity lifestyle. It all has a price. I guess it's a matter of priority ...

When did Tom start calling her "Katie"? Hasn't he always called her "Kate"?

I guess it finally dawned on him he sounded like an idiot for not knowing his baby-mama's name.

Ah, he's finally opening up about the fact that she's his prisoner, huh?

Of course anyone who's seen the photos of him hanging on her and dragging her around would know he's not going to let her "get away" (aka escape).

I've always gotten the feeling that she wasn't really pregnant when she announced it. I think they announced it then b/c that is when it worked best for them for publicity's sake - then she got pregnant after the fact. And I still have serious quesitons on whether it was actually a penis or a petri dish that impregnated her ;)

Sophia

I can finally accept she's pregnant, but I won't ever be able to imagine her & Tom actually doing the deed. Eww! It's probably his biogically, though. If not, they very carefully chose a sperm donor.

But yeah, I can see him announcing it before she was actually knocked up. It would also explain how she was huge so soon (it seems like it was ages ago!), then fluctuated a lot, and finally seems to be legitimately large.

Can't remember if this has already been posted. From TheBosh.com:

Katie's parents want a Catholic birth for her baby

Katie Holmes’s parents don’t seem to understand how deep their daughter has been sucked in to Scientology. They’re still hoping that TomKat will have a little Christian kitten. According to Star magazine, Holmes’s mother Kathleen recently flew out to Los Angeles from her home in Ohio in hope of convincing her daughter to baptize her child.

Katie grew up in a Roman Catholic home, which likely influenced the actress to make her rumored pledge to stay a virgin until she was married. But, as her pregnancy has proven, all of Katie’s childhood faith went out the window when she met Tom Cruise. Shortly after they began dating, the actress began studying Scientology.

But Kathleen and Katie’s dad, Martin refuse to believe that Katie has given up her Catholic background entirely. They’re hoping she’ll grant their wish to make her child’s birth a partially Catholic experience. A source tells Star that “Katie’s parents want assurances that their religious beliefs will be upheld [during the child’s birth] by having a Catholic priest present.” Martin and Kathleen made the request in response to Tom’s insistence that the birth take place at Scientology site instead of a hospital. “Katie wants to be surrounded by family and close friends after her baby’s birth. But in keeping with Scientology’s rules, Tom wants the baby to be enveloped in a cocoon of quiet and peace the first days of life,” says an insider.

A Catholic birth? I wasn't aware that priests were generally present at births...
