I have heard alot of people say (not necessarily on CC) that if my DS is not having an easy time adjusting to a regular sippy cup we should try the straw sippy.
Where can I buy them? I have looked a few places but I'm having a hard time finding them. Any suggestions? Thanks!

We use these from Playtex. Found at large Pharmacies and Target.

I get mine from Burlington Coat Factory - they have a part of the store called Baby Depot. Not sure if they are all around the country or not though....

Gerber soft straw cup...bought ours at BRU, but I have seen it in many other stores. Kylie drinks very well with this one.

Thank you all for your input. We looked at Walmart today and could only find ones from Parent's Choice. So, we bought them just to give them a try. He was able to do it, but I think the ones I found are too big.
The Gerber one cpbride8203 posted looks pretty small - is it? DS can hold it if it's thick, but has trouble if it's too long because of high chair tray interference. Did Kylie find it easy to hold the handles at first?
My 9 month old uses the Gerber Straw cup. I like that the straw has its own valve so not much spills when she tips it. Do the Playtex ones also have a valve or some other spill proof mechanism?

No, there isn't a valve on the straw. But spilling really is minimal, as the straw goes to the bottom of the cup and only what is actually in the straw comes out when overturned.

EmilyBronte - It isn't that small - just looks that way in the pictures. She hasn't had any trouble with the handles. She has been drinking out of it for a few months and does great with it. I think she did better with it because of the handles, but that is just her.
It holds 7 ozs...here it is online at a baby store near me...

I try to buy them at Target, where they are cheapest, but I've also bought them at the drugstore and grocery stores. I prefer the Playtex brand, especially the insulated ones b/c they don't 'sweat' w/cold liquids. We've also tried the Evenflo and Parent's Choice brands, but I didn't like either of them - had trouble w/spontaneous overflowing out of the straw - a real mess! The Playtex cups CAN spill, but again, it's minimal - droplets really so I'm not too worried about it. DD has been drinking from straw cups since she was about 9 months old. IMO, they're much easier to clean than traditional sippy cups too.
Oh, and for anyone who has a biter/chewer - I *finally* found replacement straws for the Playtex cups. They do exist!!! :D

mamax2,
where do you find replacement straws, and are they only the straw part or the bendy part too?
