I saw the ABC thread, so I thought I'd start a thread for CBS soaps as well! I've been watching Y&R, B&B, and ATWT since I was 4, and I'm completely addicted and obsessed! So, I'd love to have some people to chat with about the storylines!

I've been watching Y&R and B&B off and on for years. I was recently home from work on bedrest and totally got back into them and now I am back at work and lost again. :( Anyway, I am so mad that B&B brought back Taylor. I have NEVER liked her and I am beyond sick of the Brooke/Ridge/Taylor triangle. blech. OTOH, how freaking hot is Antonio Sabato Jr.???? So glad to have him back on soaps again! :D

Y&R question: Did anyone see it on Friday? The very last scene was Bobby and Brittany in a passionate embrace and kiss. I think that the baby is really Bobby's and that Bobby and Brittany have made this up in order to: protect Brittany and the baby from the mob; or hope that someone like Mrs Chancellor pays them off so they can take off (Mrs C really wants JT and Mac together.) Just my theory.

ejs I kinda predicted that whole Brittany/Bobby thing that they schemed up a way to get the mob off their backs. I just wish Brittany would have told JT the situation and had him play along rather than have him believe he's the father. Bobby is apparently leaving the show in August, so I wonder how this all fits in.

Me too! I never liked Taylor (and have really never liked Brooke either), and I'm sick of the love triangle. I wish they would find some more characters so these leading men have other women to choose from! This show is an inbreeding fiasco! ;) But so fun to watch!

Andrea, thank you for starting this thread!! :) Other than GL, I do watch all the other CBS soaps. I think I was watching ATWT from my crib, since my grandma baby-sat me and had that on all the time!

ejs ~ I think that's a really good theory with Bobby/Brittany on Y & R. Something is really fishy there. I seriously don't remember her sleeping with JT either--I know she crashed there a few times, but DID THEY??? Maybe I missed an eppy? :confused:

As for ATWT, I was rooting for Henry/Katie, but now it's like I don't care anymore. They were my favorite couple! Now I don't think I have a fave couple. Oh, and Casey's being a complete a$$ to Gwen. I hope Celia dumps his stupid 'hey dude' butt. I didn't watch this week yet, so I'm a little behind in S/L's on that show.

B & B ~ Sorry, can't stand Taylor. I was never a huge Brooke fan, but COME ON. And was Stephanie having palpitations the other day or something? I read in SOW that 'someone' will be in the hospital soon. HMM. Maybe if Steph stopped her meddling, her health problems would resolve themselves.

I think Thomas & Gaby are very sweet together. Jury's still out on Bridget/Nick, for me anyway!

Totally accuses Craig of killing his son, then when Craig fires backthe fact that Bryant CAUGHT JENN SLEEPING WITH HIS COUSIN BILLY, Jenn just glosses RIGHT over that, and blasts into Craig again. whatever...

I'm sooo glad they got rid of Raffi. I love Wil for helping Gwen out, he's a nice guy. I think Gwen is warming up to him too. I'd love to see Wil and Gwen together because they've both neen through hell.

Jen bugs me, not so much about the Craig thing she's just a giant PITA. Always worrying about Mike. God I hope he and Katie get back just to spite her.

Babs is a complete nutter. I wonder if they'll ever bring out that she was the one drugging Emily.

I wonder how ATWT will write off Craig and Rosanna, I heard both were leaving the show. Alison is leaving too.

Y&R fan here. Gave up on the B&B-couldn't stand Ridge/Brooke/Taylor yet again. I hate Brooke, and Taylor looks deformed (what did she do to her lips?).

I caught the tail end of scene today with Michael telling Gloria to do something, but he wouldn't tell her the reason behind it. Kevin was there, too. I'm assuming it's something to do with Tom. Can anyone fill me in?

Why didn't Michael out Tom right then and there with Ashley, when she introduced them? How could he put her in danger that way?

Do we know for sure yet that Cassie was the one driving the car in the accident? That was my theory all along, and I saw Daniel having a flashback the other day where he was telling her to slow down.

Even when Daniel reveals what he has remembered, who's going to believe him? (Besides Lily, Phyills, & Christine, that is). Nick is out for blood, I don't think he would care if Daniel were innnocent, he just wants to place blame for Cassie's death on someone, anyone.

Yup, good point on the fingerprints! In today's previews for tomorrow's Y & R, Paul says that if Daniel is telling the truth, he thinks he knows of a way he can prove Cassie was driving, or something to that effect. Will be interesting to see how THAT turns out! I can't wait until Nick has to eat crow, when he finds out his daughter was actually the one who caused the accident. Nick has been a complete jackass lately, bad enough to abandon Sharon in her time of grief to go on his 'mission' to find Daniel, but what about poor Noah? Did Nick ever stop and think his son might need him around? Just my .02. :)

Oh, if Celia is leaving ATWT, I will be one happy camper. :) Casey was an ass today, telling Celia he'd do the commitment ring thing. Um, dummy, you're supposed to be a VIRGIN when you sign up for that! No doubt his secret tryst with Gwen will come to light and Celia will run out of town and back to Montega, brokenhearted.

At the end today, with Katie and Mike--was that a dream sequence, or for real? The writers never should have broken these two up. Although I did like Katie & Henry for a while....I never liked Mike with Jenn.

On B & B - WAS Stephanie faking her heart attack? Seems like the jury is still out on that one. I'm not a huge Brooke fan, but I'm totally siding with her lately. She really got the shaft, thanks to old Steph and her manipulations.

Ridge makes me sick. I wish Brooke would stop blaming Stephanie (even though she's right to a certain degree) and realize that Ridge is a grown man and he made his own decision and leave him to it. Why didn't she give it to him good for not talking to her first before renewing his vows with Taylor? Didn't she deserve more than that??? He seems awfully confused about his decision, (except, of course, when he and Taylor were having sex.:rolleyes: ) Let him wallow in it. He has really disgusted me this time. And, yes, I would *love* to find out that Stephanie was faking it. That would certainly serve him right.

I was a HUGE fan of Taylor before she was "killed off" the last time. Her wedding to Ridge in 1997 (?) was the reason I started watching B&B (I kept getting the last 5 min of B&B with my ATWT daily taping). I grew intrigued with Hunter Tylo. However... I'm finding myself siding with Brook this time around. Stephanie went too far. Now, I don't know if she faked the heart attack or not, but Ridge making his decision to renew his vows with Taylor to save his mother has done a disservice to everyone involved (except Stephanie). If I were Taylor I would have serious questions about Ridge's motives in chosing her. And to rely on Stephanie to stop Brook from "seducing" Ridge at the beach house just showed lack of faith in her belief that Rigde would choose her. Ridge needed to be the one to say "Brook go home, come back tomorrow" and stick to it. What would have happened if Stephanie hadn't showed up...?

I'm looking forward to watching this play out.

I have been watching Y&R when I was kid and my mom was a devout follower of it. I remember when Jill was kicking it with Mr. Chancellor and her died, she was had Phillip and she was and her mom was a maid for Mrs. C.

I also remember when:

-Mrs. C was a dirty woman. She was a wicked witch back in the day.
-Nikki was a street kid and her and Paul used to mess around.
-When Victor was a freaking nut and he locked up his second wife Julia's lover in a dungeon.
- Former President Ford's son played on their as Pauls police buddy.
- When Christine was called Cricket and she was a model for Jabot.
-When Brad came on as a gardener for the Abbotts
-When Victor got shot
-When David Hasslehoff played as Jill's brother Snapper.
-I remember when Michael Baldwin was sued for sexually harrassing Christine and sent to prison.


I have been sparse with the show lately because I am getting fed up with the story lines. I am not caring for Sharon at all. I never liked her in the first place. Now that she has grown some balls, I really don't like her. I think that her and Brad are going to have a fling.

Nicholas is a butthole. He is turning into his dad.

I am happy Heather Tom is not on the show anymore. I could not stand her. Especially when she gives this snarl look on her face...

I am happy that Dru is back! She and Phyllis are a mess together! I love Dru's attitude.

I think Nicholas is a butthole, too. He has one emotion- angry. He used to piss me off so bad when he was all over Sharon for kissing his dad or because her baby could have been Matt's, or when she took off and ended up sleeping with that nasty guy in Colorado. He's always angry with her, but it's okay that he was sleeping with her best friend, MORE THAN ONCE!! She never made him answer for sleeping with Grace.

I think at some point, Nick will get on board with Daniel's theory since Cassie whipsered to him before she died that she was the one driving. He's just not processing that right now because he's in too much pain and too angry.

I can't wait 'til I go on maternity leave so I can watch Y&R again regularly!:P

I've always thought both women could do better than Ridge. Back when Brooke was dating Nick (after Ridge dumped her for sleeping with Deacon while he was married to Bridget), I really hoped they'd end up together. Nick makes the best of Brooke come out. I never understood what Taylor saw in Ridge.

As for Dante, all we know is he is an painter/sculpter who resuced Taylor from Prince Omar, his family is close with Massimo, and he showed Bridget around Rome while she was in Europe studying medicine in Copenhagen.

But, I have read that Craig's being written out of the show due to budget cuts. So I dunno why they even started this cockamamie story in the first place!

I just started watching this so I dont know if its a good thing or not. But it looks like it might not be happening so easily with all Jen's drama now.

I definitely think Craig has switched the babies' nametags so he can walk out with his biological son. I think this storyline is to explain his exit. Maybe he's finally going to jail. I don't think Craig has been in jail since the 80s!

As for Mike and Katie, I've always loved them together but had been getting used to him with Jen when Katie returned. It's nice they didn't throw them back together right away. I must admit I loved her with Henry. I feel so bad for him! I'm hoping Jen's health scare/baby drama doesn't push Mike back to her out of guilt/obligation. Jen's driven me nuts since they first SORAS'd her. When she came back from Europe (recast) I liked her for a while, but then she got hysterical and whiney again. That grates on my nerves. Honestly, right now the only person in a major storyline that I like is Will. Still love Jack & Carly, but their storyline is still building. :)

Another ATWT fan here. I definitely think Craig has (or is going to) switch the name tags. Didn't Dusty mention a birth mark on Jen's baby? That's probably how the truth will come out, eventually, and then goodbye Craig. I hadn't heard that he was leaving, but I'll miss him. He could always be counted on to create drama.

I hope that Mike and Katie are back together, but I do worry that Jen will suck him back in with the baby everything. I didn't like the look he gave Katie at the end of the show yesterday...

Like I said earlier I just started watching ATWT so I wasnt sure if Katie and Mike were "good" together but I did think right off they were cute together. So I hope he doesnt get sucked back in by Jen! Who was this Henry guy? Is she still married to him? I saw the one episode where she was talking to him about some sort of pet I assumed. But I didnt know she was married to him! Or what the story was between those two!

Katie and Henry go WAAAAAAAAAAAY back. Years ago when Katie returned in her late teens/early 20s, she teamed up with Henry to take over Molly's spot as Anchor at WOAK and steal Holden from Lily. Henry at that time was station manager, I believe. (Katie's Back Story - Katie had been written off years before as an infant when her mother, Lyla, left to pursue her singing carerr. Lyla had been a Nurse at Memorial Hospital for years. Katie is yet another case of SORAS)

Since their days at WOAK, Katie and Henry have been involved in one scheme after another. Intially, they both came across as moral as Craig, but over the years their schemes have become more comical and entertaining than desctructive. The two have been best friends for years, though as time went on it was clear Henry was smitten with Katie. Then when Katie returned from Europe (after leaving town under the guise of reuniting with her presumed dead husband, Simon) Jen encouraged Henry to come clean with Katie and tell her he was in love with her. Henry tried to do just that when he asked Katie to marry him, but after all the scheming she interpreted it as his latest idea to win Mike back (i.e., seeing Katie marrying another man would drive Mike to admit he still loved her and he'd leave Jen). The plan backfired when Katie (finally) realized Henry loved her and that the "wedding scheme" was hurting him. That's when Katie decided the wedding to Henry was no longer about Mike, and she was going to make it work with Henry.

Though she tried, it was obvious Katie still loved Mike and Henry couldn't live with being second in his wife's eyes any longer. Katie tried to win Henry back but he eventually filed for divorce. From the talk on the show in the last few weeks, the divorce has already gone through.

As for Katie's pet...While stranged on an island with Henry, Katie found a rabbit and named it Snickers. She brought the rabbit home with her when they were rescued and he's been a part of the show ever since.

Baltimoregal - I don't watch Y&R, but I do watch B&B. This week has centered on Brooke & Jackie's mission to prove Stephanie faked her heart attack. Jackie has been wooing Dr. Mark McClain in an attempt to get him to admit (on a hidden voice recorder) that he helped her stage the heart attack. Yesterday, after plying Mark with margaritas he finally confessed!!! Jackie then took Mark to Stephanie & Eric's house where Bridget and Nick were getting ready to marry. When Stephanie saw Mark she wisked him, Jackie and Brooke to the guest house where Mark admitted he told Jackie the truth. Stephanie then looked at Mark and hauled off and slapped him, calling him a schmuck (I think that's the word she used)!!!! Then during a confrontation with Brooke, Stephanie went after her with her cane. Brooke fell backwards, landing in Jackie's arms and Stephanie smashed a lamp. Soon afterwards, Nick found the foursome in the guest house and told them the wedding was going to start and if they wanted to see it they better follow. Follow they did, and before the ceremony could start, Stephanie cleared the house of everyone except adult family members (Eric, Ridge, Taylor, Thorne, Darla, Brooke, Jackie, Massimo, Bridget and Nick). She started off explaining what the last 20 years have been like for her with Brooke taking Eric away and then working her way through the rest of the Forrester men, and these men always forgiving her for whatever she has done to them/the family. She then said that her life WAS on the line that night at the hospital, however...she didn't have a heart attack! The show today ended with the facial expressions of Taylor, Ridge and Brooke after hearing Steph confess. My personal favorite was the look on Taylor's face. It was a mixture of shock, hurt and I think dissappointment. Maybe even worry over how this news will effect her marriage.

I just remembered that while waiting for B&B to start, I caught the tail end of Y&R. Today's episode ended with Lily saying goodbye to her dad (?) before being taken to a Juvenille Detention facility. She asked him not to tell her Mom until she got back from some trip, but I believe he said he had to tell her before then. And as the guard/policewoman told her it was time to go, she started crying and pleading for her dad to take her home. I don't even watch the show and found it sad. :(

Man, today was AWESOME!!! I hate how they're trying to make it seem like Ridge is going to leave Taylor and go back to Brooke, though. I just know that's not the way it's going to happen. :rolleyes:

My favorite moment was when Eric kissed Brooke and said he'd always be there for her. I had to lift my jaw off the floor! That scene was AWESOME! Finally, B&B is getting interesting again. It's gotten a bit dull since Thorne's dramatic departure from Forrester. I may have to rewatch today's show. I missed some of Eric's "goodbye" speach to Stephanie.

About Sheila-it's been a long time, so I don't remember exactly what the deal was...Lauren was married to Scott Grainger (Christine's half (?) brother) who was a doctor. Sheila is/was a nurse and she worked with Scott at the hospital. They had an affair and I think she either got pregnant or faked that she was pregnant (my memory is really foggy on this) at the same time as Lauren was pregnant with Scotty. I know she stole Lauren's baby and I think she tried to pass him off as her own. She's a psycho, basically. lol I just checked a couple different soap sites and couldn't find any more info. Maybe someone else will have a better memory than me.

Yes, Sheila did shoot Taylor on B&B. The last we saw of her on B&B, she had abducted Ridge (and then Nick when she caught him trying to save Ridge). At that time, she had a baby with her that she claimed was fathered by Massimo Marone - Ridge & Nick's father during the same storyline that led to Taylor's "death."

Leslie: I think when Bridget came to the door, she overheard Nick telling Brooke that it was difficult to fight his feelings for her - or something to that end. Add to that the candle-lit dinner for 2, Brooke being in lingerie and the two of them sitting VERY close, holding hands, I can see why Bridget snapped. Don't worry, you can catch it today. Nothing too earth-shattering happened yesterday. The biggest news is Carly and Jack were awarded temporary custody of Rory while Social Services "investigates" Gwen due to her falling asleep while watching Rory at the park.

Jack figured out that Carly set-up Gwen and urged her to meet with the judge before the hearing and come clean, but she refused to. Jack then wouldn't go to the hearing, but ended up appearing half-way through. After the judge awarded them temp. custody, he gave Carly a disappointed look and left, leaving Carly looking quite worried. As Carly was leaving the court room, Iris showed up obviously wanting more money from Carly. Carly told her that the stuf with her son was in the past and it couldn't hurt her (or something like that) and left.

I've been keeping up with B&B and never saw Bridget and Dante have sex (they slept in the same bed once, but supposedly they only slept). They never showed Nick and Brooke sleep together at the foundry - the just illuded to it after the fact, and this is soap-land so anything is possible. Bridget did say yesterday after her DR appt that she was farther along than she thought. It would be an interesting twist to make Dante the father. Of course, since it's B&B, that revelation would only come out after Dante fell madly in love with Brooke. :rolleyes:

looch - You NEED DVR or Tivo!!! :D I LOVE the DVR feature on my cable box so very much!!! As a new Momma of an almost 5 month old, I don't watch a lot of tv, but I do "treat" myself to Y&R every evening when I get home from work. I cannot say enough wonderful things about DVR!!!

Victor - He's also one of my favs! I love that there are so many people on Y&R that have been on there for forever (My Mom is also a fan, so I can remember watching from a very young age too!). It cracks me up when Victor's lifting those big weights in his sleeve-less shirts, making his little "bop" noises. And I also enjoy hearing Jack refer to him as "the moustache". I think Jack did this twice during yesterday's episode, and it cracked me up both times!

Victoria - I REALLY didn't like the new Victoria when I started watching again, but she's starting to grow on me a little. I love her dynamic with JT. I think the future holds something "happening" between them. But I agree, Heather Tom will always be Victoria in my mind! Why did she leave the show?

Once again...Paul to the rescue!!! They were actually starting to escape from the basement via an old vent, when the ceiling started collapsing. Paul helped Lauren out, just as the ceiling fell. She had children (Brad/George and Stephanie, who was murdered), and was forced by the Nazi Govt. to continue to restore and catalog this art that was stolen by Hitler's SS from Jews during the Holocaust. But, Rebecca was secretly shipping on the black market to be GIVEN back to its rightful owners.

The 'mob' (or maybe Nazis?) tracked down the Kaplans in the U.S., killing the family. George and Rebecca escaped, but the dad and Stephanie, George's sister, were killed.

George came upon the body of the real Brad Carlton while hiding from the people who murdered his family; seeing this as a way out, he switches identities with the read Brad. When the authorities find the real Brad's body, it is so badly decomposed that they go by the ID found in his wallet...which says "George Kaplan." For all intents and purposes, everyone thinks George Kaplan is dead.

George/Brad knows his mother is alive, and she knows her son is alive.

Other connections: Jana is an art expert who appeared out of nowhere and works at Crimson Lights. Also, Brad is very posessive of the 'Granville Global' account, which has some connection to the art world.

He died on Friday. He had a stroke and bleeding on the brain. The dr said he was basically gone. He was on a ventilator. John had a D&R and Gloria fought it tooth and nail until Friday when she finally realized it was for the best to let him go.

I couldn't watch the last few minutes of Y&R on Friday, as well as bits and pieces of other parts of the episode. My dad's funeral was 3 years ago that day, and I'd had to make the same decision as Gloria about the DNR order, although it wasn't due to a stroke. I didn't know that John was going off the show, so I thought that surely he'd wake up any minute.

Don't know if I can bear to watch it this week. Strikes too close to home.

It also looked like Paul was carrying two bags of food (carryout or groceries-not sure). Considering all of that, I believe he is holding her prisoner. I am still so shocked. I am so mad that I keep forgetting to tape it. I LOVE him. I've never been able to accept anyone else as Craig. I watched from 1984 - 1999 but always kept an eye on the storyline, but then started watching it again during maternity leave. The old "new Craig" was creepy. I didn't like the Maddie & Gwen bury Adam alive story and fast-forwarded through all the screaming. It seemed like almost one entire episode was just Gwen screaming. I also can't stand how they have warped Adam into an attempted rapist, especially after what Margo went through when he was a kid.

I'm still on the fence with the Gwen look-a-like story, though I'm leaning toward the "you've gotta be kidding me" side. I'll have to see how to plays out.

I do like the Katie & Jack budding romance. Carly coming back to find her nemesis with her ex should be explosive, especially since Katie was the reason Carly's crimes were exposed. :D

I'm also loving that Lucinda is getting more screen time, and for her own story. Now all we need is to bring some of my favorites back, like John and Andy, and get Kim, Bob and Lisa some story of their own.

I didn't know Dru died, though. LOL I rarely watch... I just happen to tune in the day Victor got the call that the Newman jet went down, and Nick and Sharon were on board. Anyway, I'm so sick of BROOKE on B&B! I loved it when Bridget recently called her out for being selfish and narcissitic! I've been wanting to tell her that myself for years! FINALLY! She drives me insane, going back and forth and leading everyone on and then getting mad when someone else goes after whomever she just dumped. So ready for her to move onto someone new or just go away! This story line is really old. First it was Taylor/Ridge/Brooke. Now it's Ridge/Brooke/Nick! B&B- Eric will get mad b/c Donna lied to him, but in the end they'll stay together. Marcus will end up dating a Forrester girl cause he's a hottie. I am a day-one fan and I finally gave it up. I just got tired of the horrible writing and of Brad Bell writing Brooke as nothing but a plot device because he lacks imagination. That's what is wrong with that show - it's him... the characters are just helpless victims in his horrible hands.

The triangles are old and boring and just like the Brooke/Ridge and Taylor triangle of old destroyed Ridge as a character (until they finally worked to redeem him somewhat) and now this new one with Ridge/Brooke and Nick is destroying Brooke (what was left of her). I finally just gave up when I realized that Brooke was being written as nothing but a plot device. The Brooke I loved from day one was pretty much gone.

The rape storyline should have earned KKL an Emmy nomination, but she got shafted again.

I'm just over it now. I give up.

And Rick/Taylor skeeves me out, but it does prove me right about Taylor - she's nothing but a user and a passive-aggressive manipulator. That's the ONLY good thing about the show now - Taylor is exposed. Funny how she whines about how Brooke stole her life (yeah right, I think it's the other way around), yet she keeps doing everything possible to STAY in Brooke's life. Every man she has EVER gone after (except Blake) has been with Brooke. It started with Ridge, then JAMES, then Eric (I believe she didn't sleep with him not because Steph wanted him, but because once she realized Eric wanted Steph, she knew he was over Brooke finally - so he was of no more use to her), then Thorne, then Nick. And now she's with Rick. She was also with Storm and Stephen (Brooke's dad).

If you break Taylor down over the years, all of a sudden it becomes quite clear that she's obsessed with Brooke (though to hear her tell it, she's Brooke's victim). What kind of 'victim' goes after every man associated with the woman you claim to be a victim of? Taylor's kind, lol. I think she somehow fixated on Brooke from way back and since then, she's wanted to 'win' over Brooke ever since. She's pathological, imo.

Brooke's made tons of mistakes (really bad ones), but Taylor's a whole other level.

Well Sabrina has been let go from the show, so I assume she really will die.
David is leaving the show too, so I guess that's why they killed him off too.
And Since

I am really enjoying the storylines right now. They got pretty dull with the whole Amber thing for so long. I have never liked her even when she was on B&B.
Don't love Chloe either. I wish for once they would let ONE couple be happy and enjoy a drama free life. But I guess that's not great for ratings.
