Charting Our Course to the BFPs

http://www.ripleysorlando.com/images2/fertilitystatues.jpg
The fertility statues are known to work for some who rub them around the time of possible conception.
It is said that the baby is the most potent part of the statue.

So rub away! :D It's worth a shot!

Who we are:
This is a group of women using charting (temperatures, CM, CP, OPK/FM results, or a combination of these) to try to conceive and, along the way, are learning a heckuvalot about their own bodies! Many of us use a software program to keep track of our charts as well as allowing us to share them with each other. The most common ones are FertitlityFriend.com and Ovusoft.com.

Your threadmistresses for this thread are Baby Lust and Mystikal!
If you have any questions, comments or suggestions, feel free to email us! (charting_is_knowledge@yahoo.com)

To our members:
This thread gets very busy at times, so in order to keep things less overwhelming and a bit more organized, we start a new thread each month as well as after 3 BFPs. A link to the new thread is always posted at the end of the current thread to help everyone find their way over. The threadmistress would really appreciate it if everyone would post their updates in Red. That way, if I get a bit behind, it is much quicker to get the thread up-to-date.

KNOWLEDGE IS POWER!

Want to join the fun??
We welcome one and all. It doesn’t matter if you have never charted before or if you’ve been charting to avoid. I am sure you will find lots of help and support in this group.

If you would like to join, CD1 is the time to do it! That way, we can cheer you on
throughout your cycle, rather than 2 days before you test!

Please don't be discouraged by the number of posts in this thread. You don’t have to read the whole thread to join. Feel free to just jump in on the last page. Just read through these first couple of posts and post a reply with the following information and we will get you added right away. Of course, none of this info is a must but we like to know a little bit about one another.

Things I Have Learned About TTC
by WC's Sherylb

* TTC is a journey. You will discover things about yourself that you never expected. You will face fears you never thought you had. You will find joy in little things.

* TTC can bring you closer to your DH, or it can pull you apart. If your marriage is not solid, you will find out quickly.

* No one understands exactly what you are feeling at any given moment, but someone can empathize at least a little bit.

* You will experience an emotional roller coaster ride. There will be highs and lows and fast moments and slow. Sometimes you have to wait in a very, very slow moving line. You may not even get the seat you want. It is not always fun, it can be scary, but in the end it is worth it.

* "Just relax" is the last thing in the world you want to hear from someone, but it is OK if you say it about yourself.

* There will be moments when you question your own decision to start TTC. You will wonder if you should wait or if you should just give up. Those are normal. But you will get past those feelings.

* The blue and green turtle likes to pop its head out! You will hear of someone's pregnancy and turn green with envy and blue inside because it isn't you.

* It isn't fair, it isn't easy, and it isn't pretty. But you keep doing it because the reward is worth it.

* You will be your best friend and your worst enemy. Your body will
surprise you and yet disappoint you.

* Some women do get lucky and conceive right away. Others aren't so lucky and have to struggle to get there. Hope you will be in the first category, but prepare yourself to be in the second.

* Once you decide to TTC, there will be babies and pregnant women everywhere! You could swear there is a baby boom going on!

* You will have questions. No one will ever be in exactly your position, so don't be surprised when no one can give you exactly the answer you are looking for. But there are people that can contribute, so don't be afraid to ask!

* Two lines on a pregnancy test is not the end of the struggle. Pregnancy has lots of struggles in and of itself.

- Common TTC abbreviations

This is a list of some of the more common TTC abbreviations. I know as a newcomer to the TTC threads, it can be hard to keep them all straight. I hope these will help, and if anyone has any they would like added, please let me know!

•2WW: "2 week wait" - The approximate time from possible conception to menstruation due date; Pregnancy tests should be taken near the end of the 2WW.
•AF: "Aunt Flo"; Your period; Menstruation
•AFNW: "Aunt Flo Not Wanted"; the day your period is expected to start, but you are hoping it doesn't!
•AO: anovulatory (cycle without ovulation)
•BBs: "boobs"; breasts
•BBL: "be back later"
•BBT: Basal Body Thermometer; This is used to measure your basal body temperature, when you wake up in the morning, after at least 3 hours of sleep, before you start to move around; Use a special BBT thermometer to take your temperature because they measure the small changes in temperature from day to day more accurately than the regular fever thermometers.
•BCP: Birth control pills
•BD'ing: "baby dancing"; baby-making intercourse
•BFN: "Big Fat Neutral" or “Big Fat Negative”; Negative pregnancy test.
•BF'ing: breast-feeding
•BRB: "be right back"
•CD: cycle day; a particular day in your menstrual cycle (example: CD1 is the first day of your period)
•CL: Cover Line; a visual tool used to separate the low (pre-ovulatory) temps from high (post-ovulatory) temps; a coverline is typically based on the temperatures 6 days prior to ovulation.
•CM: cervical mucous; one of the most useful clues your body can give you in predicting your fertility; it can range from dry, creamy, sticky, or (the most fertile) egg white/watery type.
•CF: cervical fluid; same as cervical mucus
•CP: cervical position; an optional, but sometimes really useful, fertility sign; CP will generally be low, firm and closed before and after ovulation, and high, soft and open during your fertile time.
•DD: "dear daughter"
•DH: "dear husband"
•DS: "dear son"
•DPO: Days Past Ovulation; number of days from your post-ovulatory temperature rise. (Example: 1DPO is the day after your ovulation)
•Endo: endometriosis (can be a fertility problem)
•EDC and EDD: estimated date of confinement (antiquated, but still used by physicians) and estimated date of delivery
•EPT: a brand of pregnancy test, or, generic for "early pregnancy test"
•EW or EWCM: egg white cervical mucus; the most fertile quality CM; it is slippery, clear and stretchy, like egg whites; also EWCF
•FAM: Fertility Awareness Method; the method of fertility and/or birth control that correlates the physical changes you experience during your cycle to predict when you are most fertile
•FF: Fertility Friend, an online (free, for basic services) fertility charting site (website); (could also be formula feeding; check context)
•FM: fertility monitor
•FMU: first morning urine
•FP: follicular phase; the phase before ovulation, where the egg matures in the ovaries
•FRED: First Response Early Detection (pregnancy test)
•HCG: human chorionic gonadotropin; the hormone that is present during pregnancy and what the HPT's and blood test measure to determine if you are pregnant
•HTH: "hope that helps"
•HPT: home pregnancy test; a urine pregnancy test you can take at home
•IMHO: "in my humble opinion"
•IMO: "in my opinion"
•IUI: intra-uterine insemination
•IVF: in vitro fertilization
•KU: knocked up
•LH: leutenizing hormone; the LH surge is what is measured by the OPKs; this hormone signals the egg to burst from the ovary
•LP: luteal phase; the phase of your cycle that begins just after ovulation and continues for 10-18 days, ending with the start of your next period; during the LP, your body continues to build up the lining of your uterus, and produce hormones which would support a pregnancy; this is the time when a fertilized egg can implant into the uterine lining
•NFP: Natural Family Planning; similar to FAM, but with abstinence during the fertile period
•O, Oing, Oed: ovulation, ovulating, or ovulated
•OPK: ovulation predictor kit; tests for presence of LH surge that usually precedes ovulation by 12-48 hours; these tests are quite expensive and not always accurate (if you take medication or depending on your age); these are optional when charting with FF, but if your fertility data is not clear it can bring more light and help interpret difficult cases
•OS: Ovusoft; charting software based on TCOYF
•PCOS: polycystic ovarian syndrome (a fertility problem)
•PG: pregnant
•PIAC: pee in a cup
•POAS: pee on a stick
•RE: reproductive endocrinologist
•SA: semen analysis
•SH: "sweet husband"
•SO: "significant other"
•SYS, SYL : See ya soon! or See ya later!
•TCOYF: Taking Charge Of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler; a book and website about charting and fertility.
•TMI: "too much information" - There is no such thing when TTC!
•TTA: "trying to avoid"
•TTC: "trying to conceive"
•TTFN: "ta-ta for now"
•TTYL, TTYS: "talk to you later" or "talk to you soon"

I *just* posted in the other thread. I didn't even notice that this one was up and running. Thanks, Amanda!

My temp dropped again this morning so I didn't even test. I have had AF-like cramps off and on today, but no AF. Usually I get the cramps only an hour before AF, so I don't know what is going on. If my temp is low again tomorrow, I won't test unless AF doesn't show this weekend. I really did not like seeing that BFN yesterday! I think I would rather find out by AF showing than another BFN. Know what I mean?

Thanks for the new thread Amanda!

I'm really hoping it happens for us soon. For those who didn't see it, I posted in the last thread that I've been having 35 day cycles. Sunday was CD 35 and I started spotting a little bit - only brown though. That continued until yesterday when I felt like I was going to be bleeding more so I used a tampon at work and still had hardly anything after 5 hours or so. Again, mostly brown. Have had a tiny bit of red in there, but it's watery compared to my usual so I'm just waiting to test. Will probably do so this weekend. I didn't temp this month and didn't watch my CM so it would be pretty surprising if I'm pg. Plus, I would be due 19 days before my sister's wedding!

Also, I've got a nasty cold. Yuck! But, I had my worst cold ever the week after I found out I was pg with Kaeden! Hopefully it's not just a coincidence!

bottleored, congrats!!!

polkadot, I'll be thinking of you. A good friend of mine has family in N.O. and they lost their homes to a broken levee. Both her parents' houses and her sister's. I hope that you're able to get back to your home and start rebuilding your life soon.

Not much to report here. I had my u/s this morning, but didn't learn anything. The tech just took the "pictures" and said she'd give them to the doc and that the doc would review them and call me. I still have my appt. on the 20th to go over everything, and I guess have the biopsy if need be.

A friend of mine told me today that she also spots randomly, and she had no problem conceiving her son. Another reassurance that makes me feel better. :)

And I *think* I might've O'd yesterday. My temp inched up to 97.8, which is higher than the last 3 days (97.2, 97.4, 97.4), but only a smidge higher than the 97.7 I've had 5 days this cycle. I'll see what the next couple of days say. If it was O day, then it was CD22, which is only 2 days later than last month's CD20. I hope it was! DH and I BD'd Tuesday night, but not last night, and we will tonight just in case.

Wanna hear something weird? I've been spotting since Friday 8/19. Every day, except yesterday. I didn't spot at all, except for that bit of red in the CM I checked internally, but nothing on the pantiliner or tp (sorry if TMI). Anyway, I started spotting again today. Wouldn't it be weird if the ONLY day I didn't spot was O day? Kinda like things working reverse.

Threadmistress, please move me to "Waiting to O, Testing 9/5-9/11"

bottleored congratulations!!!! I am so freakin' happy for you! :D H&H pregnancy to you!
kaeden's mommy good luck! I'm hoping this is it!

As for me, I'm currently 7dpo and not really feeling any FPS. I keep telling myself that this mont isn't it, plus there's a possiblity that I didn't O on CD17 like my chart says (we had the bedroom window closed from CD18-CD20 and it was warmer in the house...I still don't think it would be warm enough to cause a thermal shift, though) and instead O'ed on CD22, and that would only put me at 2dpo so I obviously wouldn't be feeling any FPS yet. Oh, well, we shall see...

Checkin' in :)

AF left the building, so now the waiting to O begins. I think I am going to just chart until O then quit. After 9 months I think I just need to relax a bit more about it (not obsess) and since I know when I usually O, there isn't much more I can do.

Anyway.....
Threadmistress~ Please move me to waiting to O. Thanks

flygirl

Congrats, Bottleored!!

Mystical, it's hard to tell, but based on your CM, I think CD22 or 23 is more likely.

gymwidow, I'm glad the u/s was a breeze; I hope the results are just as easy! A temp jump like you explained sounds like an O, so long as your CM coincides.

Klav, Good luck!!!!!!!!!

UTChick, I'm hoping, hoping, hoping for you!

KM: You're sounding pretty good :). The cold PS seems to be more & more common ;)

I *know* I'm forgetting more from the other thread, but duty calls. Good luck everyone!

New member here!

Me: Jen/29 (30 at the end of the month! )
DH: Gerry/29
Married since: July 30th 2005
Off BCP since: August 14th 2005
TTC and Charting since: August 14th 2005
Known issues/test results: None so far!
Current status: waiting to O, testing 9/5 to 9/11

I hope its okay to join, even though I'm already in the 2WW! This is all so new to me- just when I think I have charting somewhat figured out, I'm wrong!

I'm so confused by FF- reading the rules about coverlines in TCOYF, I would have placed my CL at 97.6, but FF put it at 97.2- what do you guys think? I'm also not convinced of the O date they gave me. I thought it was CD 14. But like I said- I'm confused!

I guess we'll see! This is our first cycle charting/TTC anyway, so I'd be blown away if it happened so quick!

Kaeden's Mommy~I personally don't think it is over until AF shows up hard core. Of course, I tend to use this line of thinking with everyone but myself. I understand about not wanting to test in fear of seeing another BFN. That is exactly what I am going through right now. Good luck! By the way, I am digging your status of "Queen of the Cool." ;)

flygirl~Thanks. I am trying to keep a balance of hoping a little but also being prepared for a let down. You can appreciate this one...we just got home from the Cowboy game (we left during the 2nd quarter) and I immediately got on the computer to look at my FF chart. I called for DH to come into the office by saying, "Hey Baby, come here for a minute" and this was the reply I got, "I'm NOT going to come look at your chart AGAIN." :o I'm *that* obviously obsessive and annoying now.

Congrats bottleored!!! :D And yay for a new thread!

Welcome ptrcn! Actually, for once I think FF is right. It looks like you Oed on CD12 based on the temps you have. What is the open circle on CD 12? If that temp is off, O may have been on a different day. Looks like you have covered your bases though!

Kaeden's Mommy Crossing my fingers that AF stays away!

jodylovesscotty I'm right there with you on the waiting. Hopefully we don't have to wait too long!

Mystikal I hope this cycle is it for you!

gator: So sorry to hear about your dx. Hopefully you get some positive news from your drs. about moving forward.

Mystikal: Lookin' good, lady! I was reading some old "What were your symptoms?" threads, and there were several ladies who said that the ONLY cycle they didn't have FPS symptoms they were actually pg!

Erika: Get it on!

jody/: Sending patient vibes your way...hope O comes quickly!

gymwidow: Fingers crossed that it WAS an O...and if it was, your body is officially silly! Out damn spot!

Hi to Sabriel & flygirl
------------------------------------
Whew! That was HARD WORK! Not as hard as BDing for 9 days straight, but still.. ;)

Me: Depending upon which detector one chooses to believe (or if you choose to listen to illstrious members of our thread, I am 8, 9, or 10 DPO. Temp held steady from yesterday (yay!) but could have been skewed by the fact that our noisy puppy woke me up 2 hours before temp time and I closed the bedroom door. Not sure how much that would affect me personally. Still feeling crampy, still have creamy CM. Last month, my temp took a nosedive on what FF says was 8 DPO, so I'm feeling a little hopeful!

Since by all accounts, AF is due tomorrow (I had a 9 day LP last cycle), Threadmistresses, please move me to "Think I O'd--Testing 8/29-9/4". I know that I could get a BFN, but that's not going to be that big of a let down, although DH seems to think it would be. We shall see!

And Amanda, THANK YOU for the lovely new thread!

I should be Oing between today and Monday according to past charts. Took an OPK yesterday and got a skinnytest line that was a little lighter than the test line. Took another today and it was almost the same shade if not a drop darker than the reference line. These stupid OPK's are so hard to read sometimes. Now I know why I didn't use them last month.

Bought the OPK's yesterday and the guy at the register didn't say anything until he rang the coupon up. He said wow til 2010, they sure want you to keep trying huh? You have another 4 yrs to go trying to get pregnant. Said I don't have that long I hope to have all my kids by then since I am already 31. He said your still young. I said well I have a daughter but she passed away and he said he was sorry to hear that. He said well your further along than I am with kids, I have none. He was a nice guy

Ericka_Jarett Great story! Glad that the guy was nice about it though.

Dotsie Welcome! Hope your stay is short but sweet.

klav You chart is also looking great! I really hope this is it for you. Stay away AF!!!

CD 5 for me and I have more EWCM today than I have ever seen! Seems early, but I guess the BD fest starts today.

Woke up this morning to spotting (pink-tinged CM, really). I could try to tell myself that it's not really AF, but combined with my big temp drop, who would I be kidding? :(

I do think that God has a pretty twisted sense of humor sometimes. I mean, my cycles usually have a delayed O, short LP, and only cramping right before AF -- Oh, and no spotting, just straight into AF. This cycle has a more "normal" O, long LP, and cramping on 3 different days -- but no cramping now that I am spotting.

Next time, I am only temping until I have a confirmed O, then I am putting the thermometer away. And I'm not taking any pregnancy tests unless I get to 18dpo. The "fun" has really gone out of it at this point.

Good luck to those still testing...

Ericka, That second test is definitely positive!! BD, BD, BD!! :D

09-02-2005, 09:47 AM
Welcome ptrcn! Actually, for once I think FF is right. It looks like you Oed on CD12 based on the temps you have. What is the open circle on CD 12? If that temp is off, O may have been on a different day. Looks like you have covered your bases though!
Thanks to everyone for the welcome!

Sabriel, the open circle was because I temped 3 1/2 hrs early that day due to my work schedule. So that one definitely may be off, it would be more like 97.7, right? So in that case, maybe I O'd earlier?? I'm not really sure. We did BD a lot though, just in case! ;)

UTChick - Thanks for the support! It's good to know that I'm not the only one who gets confused by this stuff! Maybe once I've charted a few more cycles it will get easier to tell what's normal for me.

Sabriel
09-02-2005, 10:01 AM

Ericka: Keep misspelling your name...I feel like such a dork! That definintely looks like a + to me. Go find your hubby!!

ptcrn: I think we're ALL confused by FF more often than not. I agree that that open circle could mean that you O'D earlier. But as sabriel said, you're covered, so that's all good. And keeping the later O date will make you less tempted to test as early. Maybe!

shelby: You know what they say...it ain't over till... But sorry for the spotting and temp drop..boo!

sabriel: Why thank you! Picture the open circles .2 higher, and it looks even better... :D

babylust: Yay! Onto the next Clomid cycle, right?? Get the show on the road FOR SURE!

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome. I haven't even started yet and already I am obsessing :D I went to Dollar Tree today and bought some OPK's. I am also planning on charting as of tomorrow morning. Not to sound like a complete dork, but how exactly do OPK's work? I mean, I know HOW they work, but when do you start using them? When you get EWCM?

Ericka_Jarett
09-02-2005, 11:10 AM
Dotsie,

Check the leaflet and see if they say the days to start to use them. My cycle is usually 33-34 days so I am to test starting at 16 or 17 days past my period. not sure about the Dollar Tree ones, but I know with the Answer brand once the test line is darker than the reference line, you can stop testing cause O happened. If you only get a reference line, you haven't had an LH surge.

There sure are some purdy looking charts out there!! My temp took a nosedive this morning, but I'm only 8dpo, so I'm hoping it's implantation. We'll see. I'm wondering if the reason I've had so much EWCM is because I've been drinking tons and tons of water recently. I really upped my intake and I am curious as to whether or not that can cause EWCM? I know if you're well-hydrated you will have better quality CM, but I thought you typically dried up after O. Hmmm...

UTChick Forgot to chart-stalk everyone before doing my replies! Hope you got that BFP this morning. Fingers crossed!

Mystical: Your testing day is fast approaching. Hope your temp recovers from that (implantation?) dip!

[B]abirney! Take care and defintely come back to the thread when you are TTCing again. I'm sure it will still be filled with really supportive women.

Ericka: That second test was much darker. Good luck!

mvkh: Nice lookin' chart!!

Sorry for everyone I missed....hope you all are doing well! (It is so hard to keep up with this thread). Just as I thought it would, FF moved my O date from CD14 to CD15 this morning, which I suppose is no big deal. I temped 40 minutes later than normal and my temp jumped .4 degrees. I'm sure it wouldn't have been that high if I temped at my normal time, but any jump works for me!

Enjoy your weekend, everyone! My family is coming into town this morning and staying through Monday. I'm going to be busy....but not the kinda busy that we talk about here. ;) (I crack myself up sometimes.)

Hi all,

Took another OPK today and the test line showed even before the reference line. I marked it as a positive, I looked back over the WC thread on OPK's and all listed looked like mine and were positive. Either I O'd yesterday or will today or will tomorrow. The kit says if the test line is darker you don't need to test again this cycle.

Mystikal
09-03-2005, 06:55 AM
ds2003 ovarian drilling? That souns scary!! At least you are ovulating now! Here's hoping you get your BFP soon!!
klav it looks like you are taking progesterone supplements? I know there have been some girls that didn't have AF show until they stopped the supplements. Either way I hope you get an answer soon. If you're still testing BFN on Monday I would see about a blood test from the doctors!! GL!
amurphy my temp went up a bit this morning, but I think it should have been higher. The window was open in my bedroom and I my allergies were acting up so I was breathing through my mouth. I think I'm just going to stop temping. If AF isn't here by Tuesday or Wednesday I'll test then. Have fun with your family!
Ericka I'm sorry, I can't help you with your OPK questions, but I hope you get a BFP very soon!!!

Okay, so my temp went up .3 degrees from my drop yesterday. I think it should have gone higher, but my window was open and it was chilly, and my allergies were acting up so I was breathing through my mouth. This is getting crazy. I think I'll just stop temping and then test on Wednesday or somewhere around there if AF hasn't shown yet. (I am doing a pretty good job of not obsessing, though!)

ds2003

Ericka - it all depends on which line is darker. I wouldn't read too much into which one showed up first.

Mystika. - OD wasn't bad. There is just the pain from a laprascopy and the throughts of what actually happened. I have pics from the surgery and it doesn't look that bad.

Oops...

Don't think I made myself very clear. On the equate test you have to have a + in the window. I had a - (not pg) but it was pretty light.

The reason I ask is that I've been spotting (sometimes heavily) since last Sunday. AF is usually here for 5 days max. Plus, no AF cramps this month, breasts didn't feel like usual before AF, no low back pain, etc. I actually feel great except for this damn cold!

Thanks!

ds2003
09-03-2005, 07:30 AM
I didn't know equate had a +- test. The horizontal line in the test window is probably just a blue strip that was possibly visible even before you tested (i read that somewhere). It's the vertical line that you want to look see.

i think the equate test with the purple cap is the on most people use. I believe it more sensitive and it is not + - so a line is a line.

kmmommy
09-03-2005, 07:34 AM
Equate must have just changed that because last time I bought them it was just a line not a +. Anyway, I tested at night (I'm impatient) so I will wait a couple more days and test again.

Just weird to not really have AF like I usually do, but not know whether to count spotting as AF or not since it's all brown.

ds2003
09-03-2005, 08:00 AM

Soulmate
09-03-2005, 08:05 AM
Just jumping in to say that yes Equate has changed to + or -. I hate it because the +/- tests out there now suck in reliability. Now in my mind I don't trust equate as much even though I am sure they are just as good as before.

ds2003~So glad to hear you are ovulating! Hopefully that BFP is just around the corner.

klav~Wait a couple of days and test again. As long as AF isn't here, there is still a chance.

amurphy~Whatever the O date was, it looks like you had your bases covered. Good luck. Have fun with the family.

Mystikal~I always admire the people who don't temp during 2ww. I can't seem to resist the urge to temp. Good luck!

KM~I hear that Equate changed their test as well. The pack I used this week was still the old kind. I hear you have to hunt around to find them.

Well...BFN again this morning. I think it was Amanda who said a week or so ago that she thought maybe I had O'ed on CD30 due to the missing temp. Maybe that is it. Still no AF, no cramps, no spotting, but no BFP. This is starting to annoy me. And get this...I got two phone calls this morning, one from my mom and the other from my MIL, both saying they 'heard' I might be pg and was testing today. Wonder where they heard that! After telling both of them that it was a BFN this morning, DH and I had to have a little talk. ;) I know he is just so excited, but there are some things I want to keep between us and when I take a HPT is one of those things! Gotta love him, though.

Me: Jessie/ just turned 35
DH: Dan/ just turned 33
Married Since: May 21, 2005
Off BCP Since: July 5, 2005
Charting since: August 10, 2005
Known issues: Diagnosed with endometriosis at age 19, DES Daughter
Status: Waiting to O? Probably just wacky post-Pill cycle

I am a newbie here. DH and I just got married 3+ months ago, but with my age and potential issues, we went off the pill in July (my doctor had originally wanted me to in May- right before the wedding, I don't think so!).

I had gone off the Pill 3 years ago because I was planning on having a baby on my own, but then DH and I started dating. Back then my period didn't come for 4 months (coicindentally (or maybe not) it came 2 weeks exactly after DH and I first 'hooked up').

So I didn't know when my period would come. It came 36 days later. I immediately started temping and I bought a fertility monitor (lots of $ but worth it, I guess). I started testing on day 6 and didn't get a high level until day 21. I had 4 days of highs and this morning it was low. Don't know if it was due to my going to bed a 2 am last night. I sware I think I had eggwhite CM yesterday, but I am still trying to get the hang of CM. So we'll BD today and then see what happens.

I've been temping everyday but not at highly consistent times and I think because I've been thinking about it too much I haven't been asleep for the recommended 3 hours prior to doing it.

Hey all! No time for SOs...been temping at my regular time this weekend (6 am), and with an adjustment, my last FOUR temps have all been the same! Sometimes flat temps are a good thing! BUT...I tested yesterday w/ FMU and BFN. Totally considering it a neutral though as I could have Od anywhere from CD13-15, the latest of which only makes AF due today. BBs are REALLY sore...hurt to take off my bra last night, and I felt REALLY weird yesterday. Lightheaded, nauseous...DH was worried. But then he said, "Don't take this the wrong way, but I really hope you do feel bad!" He's too cute.

I was going to test again tomorrow (11/12/13 DPO), but I think I'm going to wait. Didn't think I would be that bummed about a BFN!

I'll do proper SOs on Tuesday, I promise! HAPPY LABOR DAY!

klav I would definitely check with your dr about AF. Hope you get an answer soon.

As for me, I'm starting to doubt whether or not I actually O'ed. My temp is back below CL today, I have no CM (although I had tons and tons of creamy last night), and no spotting. *sigh* I have been charting since October, 2003 and I have never had an annovulatory cycle. It would figure that my first would have to be when we were TTC. I'm going to wait a couple more days and if my temp doesn't go up I guess I'll have to be moved to the "what the beep is going on" category. :(

Many people will not get AF until you stop taking the progesterone (if it is suppositories). Your doctor *should* do a beta at 14DPO and if negative you would stop the progesterone and AF would come about 1-2 days later. I would say if you are getting BFNs at this point stop taking the progesterone. If you wait long enough AF will come but I think your sanity would be shot.

AF showed up this morning - that is ok, it was my first cycle off BCP, and my cramps are horrible. We really weren't trying to get preg. on this try - I am a teacher, and while it sounds silly, we are hoping for a summer baby (but will take what we can get!!!).

This was my first cycle charting, and I was really bad about doing my temps in the morning. Actually, I was really good until we moved, got a puppy, and am now waking at different times than usual (because my summer is now over), so I will try to be better on this cycle.

So, I was never moved from "Waiting to O', and that is where I am now! :)

Soulmate sence it's the long weekend and no one will be answering the phone if I call my dr should I just stop on my own? and give her (DR)a call on tuesday? Although I'm going to my DH aunts house and she's a registered nurse and can ask her advice. yes they are suppositories, 8mg
ds2003 the only time I had a cycle longer than 28 day's was a 29 day right after a MC so I think my body was trying to readjust.
So I have nothing yet and was going to test again on Tuesday but I'm going to talk w/ my aunt and see what she say's and stop taking Progesterone tonight i just took another dose before I logged on... so keep ya posted

I'm back from vacation and just checking in. :) I'm still trying to read everything. You ladies have been busy!

The witch showed and I'm on CD3 so could you please change me to waiting to O, threadmistress? Thank you! :)

flygirl

Thank goodness I'm not the only one having trouble keeping up.

jnshanna, I'm sorry about the witch. I hope you were still able to have a nice vacation!

Dotsie, bummer :(.

klav, I'm not an expert on taking progesterone, but I wouldn't stop taking it until you've spoken with your Dr. Tomorrow is day 14 of taking it, which is about the right amount of time. Stopping it too early could interfere with maintaining an implanted eggie.

nuhmah, I'm sorry the cramps are so horrible. But at least now you can REALLY get started. :D

Mystikal, I don't think you've O'd yet. And I don't think it's an anovulatory cycle, either :). On your last chart there are about 5 days of higher, disregarded temps right before O. It looks like a classic delayed O. This cycle looks almost identical. It could be stress, or it could be that it's your normal pattern. I wouldn't stress quite yet, & I defnitely wouldn't stop BD'ing ;).

mkvh, I think it's much more likely you O'd on CD15, & since this is only your second cycle, you don't really know your average LP. It was probably too early to test yesterday. So my fingers are crossed for you!

Go enjoy all the BDing, Wrighty!

Welcome & good luck, Jessie! I hope your stay is short!

KM, I can only imagine how stressful the spotting is! *fingers crossed*

UTChick, :(. Hang in there.

OK. I think the last time I posted I said I'd give my left arm to O early, since we didn't know how long DH would be home. Well, he's still home, & I think I'm going to O a day or two early. Except HE'S SICK!!!! Really sick. No-BD'ing sick. I can't believe this. Now I'd give my left arm for him to stop hurting so much. Please keep him in your thoughts & prayers.

Hi ladies. Sorry for no shout-outs, but I have read along and am finally caught up. Today is CD26 for me and I don't think I've O'd and am basically givng up on this cycle. My temp went down again on Friday and Saturday and I didn't even bother waking up at my usual time today to take it. Trying to figure out what's going on with me is tiring and frustrating and I think I'm just going to wait now and see what the doc says when she calls me back. DH and I are continuing to BD every other night, so maybe hopefully something might happen, but in the meantime, no more obsessing for me. We're having a fun long weekend and I just want to focus on having a good time!

Welcome ptcrn! 30 is creeping up on me too. Scary!

Welcome to Dotsie and jesseybell too!

LOL mkvh. I wouldn't do that to you. If I was pg I would be running here to let you all know. ;)

I've read everything now but a bit overwhelmed. :o Good luck to those of you getting ready to test and I hope O comes soon for those of you waiting. And I'm sorry for those that are in the same boat as me and the witch found them. :(

klav I too would wait to talk to your dr. You should have a beta done to make sure you are not pregnant before you stop. I just wanted to pass that info along just so you were not getting too frustrated with BFNs. If you are getting BFNs now you are most likely not pregnant and it is the progesterone that is keeping AF at bay and your temps so high. Stranger things have happened but it is not the norm.

What I've been up to (well, not relaxinging and taking my mind off TTC, that's for sure!):
So much for "taking some time to chill out"....Last cycle was a mess. I tried to be "laid back" by taking yoga. Didn't help. I stopped temping, except for right around O...which NEVER HAPPENED. So that meant I temped for WEEKS on end, getting all caught up in the highs and lows, my mood being determined by what a little plastic piece of equipment told me each morning. Not to mention, I was convinced that if we stopped BD'ing, O would come, so what did we do? We BD'd TWENTY (yes, you read that correctly) times. Two zero. 20. Ouch. Eventually, I called my dr and said "enough!" (to make matters worse, I knew that if I wasn't pg, we were moving on to clomid next cycle and time seemed to be s.t.a.n.d.i.n.g. s.t.i.l.l.) He prescribed prometrium (oral progesterone) to bring on AF, since it wasn't happening naturally. I took the prometrium for 10 days (finishing on Thurs night) and today AF arrived. I've never been so happy to see that b!tch. :p And I'm not even upset about not being pg (ok, maybe a little, but I'm ignoring that so it will go away).

On to CLOMID:
My dr and I decided that because my cycles are screwy and I either O really late or not at all (that happened for the first time ever this cycle), it's time for clomid. He truly believes that if I gave it time, I could get pg without help, but the stress and anxiety was just too much for me. So, I am graciously accepting some "help". I have to call my dr on Tuesday, but I think I will start it on CD5. I also learned that I have an estrogen deficiency, so it looks like I will need some help there too (or maybe not? I have no idea.).

Anyway, Threadmistress, can you please move me to "Waiting to O", as well as update my info by adding Clomid 50mg and estrogen deficiency as a known issue. Thanks!

***

klav ~ Definitely keep taking the progesterone until you either get AF or you have a BFP. Being on progesterone will usually make your LP longer than usual (at least that's what I use it for) and can also give you artificially high temps. It's possible that you could get AF on your own (while still using the prog supps) or that you won't get AF until you stop using it. I have been in both situations. Can I ask, what are you taking the estrodil for? I have low estrogen and my dr mentioned something about taking estrogen supps too...just wondering if you have the same problem.

Congrats to the BFPs in my absence!

Happy Labor Day!

I am 90% sure I am ovulating today. I woke up with definite pains on my right side, sore bbs (this is generally an O symptom for me) and EWCM. I tried to convince my hubby that we needed to BD again before he left for work...but he said he didn't have time :( Wah. He works at a furniture store-- and had to open it for the cleaning lady. Damn holiday sales!!!

The plan is that I'm jumping him right when he gets home from work. I hate having to time this! My brother and I are hanging out today- we're going to a BBQ this afternoon, and it's really hard to get him to leave once he's here. He's also planning on watching the FSU/Miami game with us tonight. Soooo... I have no idea what I'm going to tell him. "Get out so Dan and I can get it on" would probably be a little TMI :)

Question-- What is the general time window on ovulating?? I may have to go read TCOYF again...

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good luck Wrighty! Does DH have an office you can use at work for lunch?!?!

I woke up today starving, nauseous, with a little low back pain and pressure/cramping in my abdomen. I also keep feeling like AF is here but just a little more brown spotting. Today is my 9th day of spotting and I'm getting annoyed. Hopefully it's for a good purpose.

17 DPO and when I put my temp in this AM it moved my O from the 13th to the 14th? HUH??

Babylove I was pt on his treatment by my DR. not sure why the estrodial but I assume it was all part of the procedure of colmid? I have heard of girls only taking clomid and nothing eles I guess this wa just her way of doining it? I have the paper here from Prochieve and it say's on the paper that tells you when to take what that it's to work to gether to optimize your cycle. it also say's the Estrgen followed by the prochieve helps the lining of the uterus to develope properly. and it say's that if PG occurs to continue for 10 weeks....

So Talked with my aunt last night and she really could not give me any advice because she really does not know about OBYN things she's more in the ICU so she also suggested to call the DR so I was going to do that tomarrow due to the long weekend I assume they are not there today. So one more day of not knowing what is going on. and I have not taken any otehr test except for the one I took on Sat. So there has only been one test of BFN.

o-yeah --the first cycle with this I got AF with out a problem and this time on about the 27/28 th day there was some brown spotting in the progesterone cream??? so not sure if that's anything? so I sit and wait..confused??

Wrighty26 ~ Yup. 20. DH hasn't said one word about BD'ing since #20. We are both just sick of it  It's funny though, i didn't even have to do any convincing...if I tried to get out of it b/c I was tired, he would insist, in case "this was the day I finally O." Such a trooper :D As for getting your brother into gear so you can pounce on your hubby...I think if you did tell him the truth, he would be too stunned to argue! Problem solved! ;)

Ericka_Jarett ~ Another super BD'er! :D Good luck this cycle!!

Kaeden's Mommy ~ Thanks! DH hasn't complained at all, believe me! He's had enough, if you can believe that! :D Hmm...do you always spot before AF? Maybe this is a good sign!? *crossing fingers*

klav ~I have that same pamphlet fom the Prochieve. I have to consult it now! I sort of want to call my dr today and find out if I should be taking estrodil now, but I feel bad about disturbing his holiday weekend. BTW, spotting while on progesterone can be normal. I had it too, for about 3 days before AF. It could also be implantation spotting...good luck!

Wrighty26 I sure hope you can find some time with DH today! Good luck!

CD 8 for me. Yesterday DH kept talking about moving furnature around in our house. I finally asked him why he was so worried about it, and he said that he is trying to figure out how we can empty a room for "the baby". It was so cute. LOL, now we just need a baby!

Could possibly be implantation spotting, don't give up just yet, until or if AF shows her face.

Mystikal
09-05-2005, 05:14 PM
Bellefior it could be implantation spotting along with an implantation dip, but if AF shows tomorrow I would look into incorporating B6, magnesium, and zinc into your daily routine. I take 100mg of B6 in the morning, and a calcium, magnesium, and zinc supplement in the evening and it lengthened my LP from 9-11 days all the way to 14-15 days!! GL!

Ericka_Jarett

Just watch with the calcium supplement, my mom was taking that and ended up getting kidney stones 5 times in about 2 months. Just want to make sure your ok and don't get the stones, they are horrible. Doctor told her never to take the supplement, it's better to just drink milk than take a pill.

ds2003
09-05-2005, 05:49 PM
i was concerned too. I wasn't sure if the supplements she listed were in addition to the PNV or if she was listing what was in her PNV. There are certain ones that you do not what to overdo.

Mystikal
09-05-2005, 05:52 PM
I take them in addition to my PNV, when I was just taking my PNV it wasn't helping my LP any. I've been taking all the supplements since mid-April and haven't had any problems yet...

Ericka_Jarett
09-05-2005, 06:02 PM
Rachel,

I was mentioning it to my husband what you take and he said it's not healthy and messes with your hormones. Does your doctor know about the supplements? Just don't want to see you get ill down the road.

My prenatals already have 167% of the zinc I need in a daily value (25 mg) B6 I get 20mg which is 800% of the daily value.

I was just did a search and your original LP of 9-11 days is not out of the normal range really. My LP is 11 days long This site talks about LP defects: http://www.babyhopes.com/articles/luteal-phase-defect.html

We've been trying the Shettles method (for a girl) this month, and I should be Oing tomorrow. Sunday morning was the last time we were going to BD, but tonight I got a wild hair and decided that just in case I am late Oing, we should BD again. :) Actually, tonight it was more romantically induced (which was a lot nicer than "Ok, let's go, time to BD" ;) ). Sorry Klav :( I hope you can get an answer from your Dr. today!

I guess my temp is slow to rise this month? I was expecting a bigger temp jump today, but didn't get one. Hmph. My O pains are gone, yet my bbs are insanely sore. I'll be super annoyed that we didn't get to have any *alone* time yesteday, if I'm actually ovulating today (although my CM pretty much disappeared yesterday afternoon-- and my CP has lowered/become more firm).

Is it just me or are there a lot of us O'ing at the same time? :D Count me as one of them... I am pretty positive I O'ed yesterday. The weird thing... I have O pain, and it's been alternating sides each month. According to the pattern, I should have had left side pain this month, and I did for a while, but I've also had really bad right side pain too. I can't help but think I O'ed on both sides. Unless I get pregnant with fraternal twins, I guess I'll never know, LOL.

KM: any updates for us?

Okay, that's all I can see on the screen and/or remember, so sorry for those I didn't respond to!

I moved my CH to CD 15...keeping myself a bit saner. That puts me at 12 DPO with F-L-A-T temps for the last 6 (?) days. Today, if I adjust, gives me another nice little rise. I am SOOO trying to hold out. I laid in bed awake for an hour after I temped debating whether to test or not. Couldn't bring myself to see another BFN. Sure hope your right Michelle.

I still can't pinpoint the exact day I O'd. Took another test this morning and it still read with the double lines, just the reference line was darker. I have a pic of the 6 tests I took, I can't see much difference except to see that the 19th was a definate positive and the 20th was as well, if not a darker test line then the reference lines. I either O'd sometime Friday - Sunday. So either I am DPO 4 or DPO 2 I figure with the time I put down the test date as I did, so will be days past my normal LP of 11 days, just to be on the safe side.

We are working on figuring out when hubby wants to take his vacation days that are left for the year. We may go to Disney for our 4th anniversary (that's where we got married) or to Vegas (I personally have no interest in going there) or maybe we will go to the Precious Moments Chapel. I am looking at prices too for a trip to Brentwood, TN in February for vacation Bible school training. Plus hoping to be pregnant in there :)

Hi everyone.. I figure I have been lurking here long enough, i might as well join in. hopefully it will bring me some sanity!

I am currently 6DPO and waiting anxiously. Climbing temps for the past 5 days with a huge dip today. For some inexplicable reason I tested yesterday and understandably got a BFN. I am holding out great hopes this might be it for us this month. According to FF, my test date is 9/16.

I'll post my chart once I figure out how to do it!
