Hello! I was curious as to when you noticed a change in your newborn's nighttime sleep (as in when did the two hour stretches lengthen to three or more). I've been reading and have seen it mentioned that once the baby is 11 or 12 lbs, s/he won't have to wake as often to eat. I've also read that a change was noticed at 6 weeks. My son is an excellent napper. He follows the eating every two to three hours pattern and naps for at least one and a half hour intervals (usually two) all day. Actually, the pattern follows through the night. I've had a few three hour stretches, but nothing too consistent. Just wondering what your experiences have been. Thanks! :)

I think around 6 weeks (I think??) DD started sleeping longer stretches at night (like 4 instead of 2 hours.) It really happened so slowly, that I can't pinpoint a date, but in hindsight I would just realize, "wow, she has slept thru the night a few times now!" It was kind of a two steps forward, one step back kinda thing.

She mainly sleeps thru the night, but even still has a night here or there she wakes up to eat.
