Hi!

The Target registry did not update as well as one would hope, and I ended with duplicates on several items. There are really only two things I'd like to return, the other duplicates will get used. The thing is, I have no gift reciepts for these items, in fact, only two other gifts had reciepts with them!
Will Target accept the returns with out the gift reciepts and give me store credit, since they were on my registry?

I tried to find out on line, but no such luck, so I thought I'd ask the experts here :D

yes, as long as they carry the item in store, you can return w/o receipt of any kind for store credit. i had to do this for gifts we received for my dd's 1st bday. (why don't people include gift receipts?!?!?) unfortunately, i returned so many things w/o receipts (at different times) that they made me spend the store credit right then and there at one point and it could only be for baby items. HTH! :)

I think if you have a gift registry you should be fine. We don't have a registry there and we received 2 big things without a gift receipt and it was a MAJOR PITA to return.

They will not give you a gift card you have to make an exhange that day in the same department...totally stupid. I have no idea why they have that policy but I think you should be able to avoid that since you have a registry there.

When you have a registry at Target, it's ok to return stuff that was on your registry without a reciept. They just print out a copy of your reg. and if the item is on there, they treat it like a reciept. I don't remember if they give you store credit or what though. You have until 3 months after your 'event' (in this case, your baby's EDD) to make the returns. HTH!

target is so lame about returning stuff lately. you shouldn't have a problem since it's stuff from your registry, but if you do, take it to bru. i returned stuff to bru/tru that i knew was from target because i just didn't want to go through the hassle of taking it back there.

BRU is getting smarter about this lately though...at least in my area. When they scan it even if they carry it they can tell you if you got it there or not. My SIL was able to return a $300 stroller to BRU 2 years ago that she actually got at a store in Ceaser's Palace in Vegas but now she wouldn't be able to...darn technology! ;)
