She is the HARDEST friend to buy for! Honestly!! She isn't too much into dust collectors, if you know what I mean. She's just not that type to have items sit around. She and DH have just moved and are looking into purchasing a home, but nothing yet. I just don't know what to get her. She purchased a GC from my registry place for me this year so I don't want to do the same thing.

She is in another state so the item(s) have to be shipped. I would like something unique and different to make her WOW!

I am looking to spend about $50 - ANY ideas?

Thanks in Advance...Deb

For $50 I got my sister a GC for a massage from BodyZone (http://www.bodyzone.com/shop/default.html). They send a booklet with all these centers all over the US where you can use it so it's great for ppl in a different state (or a different country in my case).

I know if I was getting a new place the best gift for me would be a gift certificate to Home Depot!
Or if you have some common friends you can pitch in together and get her an ipod mini!!!! I think they are $200 so you may only need to get 3 other people to pitch in $50. I just got mine and it is the best thing in the world and she will be able to get rid of a bunch of her cds therefore less clutter!! I am still loading my cds on there and then I am getting rid of them at our garage sale. Less to pack and move.

Does she like jewelry? Do you know her taste?

I have some earrings my SIL bought me from Shy Siren (http://www.shysiren.com/index.cfm)

They have earrings, bracelets & necklaces, some of which are in your price range.

Also, I'd love a gc to amazon.com or borders or something like that.

You mentioned that she doesn't like dust collectors so I don't know if this is something that she would like or not but I'm planning on giving DH one of these for his birthday or our anniversary later this year:

A lady makes these custom boxes. You pick the colors and quote or a personalized note and she creates them. I don't know what the time frame is but it's a neat gift I think and there are various sizes to choose from.

I would say a restaurant GC, or a spa GC. I don't like dust collectors, either, and my favorite gifts are fast becoming things I can USE rather than just have. You could always send a gift basket - there are all sorts out there from wine to cookies to gourmet foods. I've sent all kinds, but Harry & David has nice ones or you could just google "gift basket". I always try to buy my friends things they wouldn't "splurge" on for themselves, like a Coach wristlet or GC for a facial, etc.

I've been thinking about this for some hard people to buy for in my life too... but there is one thing we ALL love, and don't always have the time to take care of personally. That is a good car wash and vacuum. So, my idea for all those HARD PEOPLE this year is to buy them a pack of coupons from a local car wash for them. Its easy to find a local place close to them if you have their address and use the internet. I would call them [the business] and ask them if you could order a GC or coupon pack over the phone. Just a thought!
