Acne medications?

My skin has been horrible the past few months - like back to my teenage years. I guess it's b/c I'm off the bc pill. The only thing that worked great for me back then was Accutane, but I know that is absolutely off limits while TTC (due to it causing birth defects). I've been trying different products from the drugstore, but just wanted to be sure that they're safe. Are most otc skin care products okay while TTC? So far I've only been using those with salicycic acid or benzoyl peroxide.

Well, it's not a medication, but I've used the Proactiv System for about 7 years and it works wonders for me. I would recommend it to anyone! :)

I had the same problem when I stopped taking the pill. My skin broke out so badly I was really embarrased! I finally ordered pro active and it worked for me!

I took Accutane 2x when I was younger and now that I am off BCP my face is yucky again. I am lucky (just kidding!) in that I get cystic acne so not sure if Proactiv would work form me. I did get pregnant in early June but then had a miscarriage in mid-July. I can tell you that my skin totally cleared up while I was preggo. Hopefully I'll be preggo again very soon and rid of this problem!
