Has anybody ordered from MarisolBlooms.com in the past or experienced technical difficulties with them recently?

I placed a (large) wedding order with them in late April and was charged for shipping. Then in early July, I decided to add some more flowers to the order, so I called and was told to submit the request in writing. So I e-mailed in the change and said for them to contact me about the extra shipping and to confirm that the change order had been received. I have yet to hear anything back from them and can't get in touch with them on the phone or through their website.

I mean, a few days ago I was getting no answer on the phone and a message that all of their mailboxes were full. Then yesterday their phone wasn't even ringing. Today their online feedback form wasn't working either, so I sent them an e-mail and I'm waiting for a response.

I don't personally know anyone that's used this company before, but they seemed pretty reputable to me based on the testimonials on their website (yeah, I guess I shouldn't have trusted that). I don't want to jump to any conclusions, but I'm starting to get a little freaked out. My wedding is less than 3 months away and I ordered over 1,000 flowers from these people and I can't get in touch with anyone there!

Advice, anyone?

I did a little research for you and will send you a PM with some more information. The Better Business Bureau there has this to say about them:

Customer Experience

Based on BBB files, this company has an unsatisfactory record with the Bureau due to unanswered complaint(s).

If you don't hear from this week I'd start looking at a backup plan. If you paid for your order with a credit card (I'm thinking you might have online) then you can let them now the sitauation and have them do a charge back.

I hope it works out for you. I know that there are others here that can probably help out with other options for you based on their experiences if you have to resort to a plan B.

Well, isn't that nice? I feel like such an idiot. That's what I get for being so trusting...if something looks too good to be true, it probably is!

I don't know what to do now. There's no way I can afford an actual florist to do everything that I need to have done, and I don't know of any other places where I can order all of my flowers online (or just in bulk) at those prices. All of the floral wholesale places in the area only sell to licensed florists! What do I do if Marisol Blooms doesn't come through for me?!

Laura, I tried to respond to your e-mail through your profile, but the site wouldn't let me. Thanks so much for your help. I tried both of the other two numbers with the same result - dead air, not even ringing.... Oh well, I guess I'll give it a week or two and see if they respond to my e-mail. Then it's back to the drawing board.

BTW, I checked out your journal and have now become addicted. So if you see me lurking there, don't be alarmed...I'll post as soon as I finish reading!

I'm sorry you had a bad experience - my experience with them was perfect. I ordered over 800 roses and had absolutely no problems with them, except for finding enough places for the flowers!

Oh, I'm glad to hear that. It encourages me to hear that other people haven't had problems with them. Actually, to tell the truth, I haven't had any real "problems" with them either. It's just that I'm worried that I can't reach them to confirm my order. As long as everything shows up as it should in November, I don't really care if they never speak to me again! ;)

Melody, it's good to see that J&T2005 had a good experience with them. Personally, I'd keep trying next week. IF you are still in a bind you might want to try and go to your Farmer's Market and speak withthe vendors there about getting some prices on flowers. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed for you!

The Farmers' Market would be a great idea, except that I'm having a semi-destination wedding. We live four hours away from the wedding location. And I do NOT have the space or the resources to transport that many already-open flowers three days before the wedding and keep them alive until the big day. As far as I know, there is no farmers market that could accommodate such a large order in the city where we're getting married. This could present a problem. I really hope Marisol Blooms comes through for me. It's probably not as big a deal as I'm making it into...they're probably just on vacation this week or something. It is the end of the summer so all of the big summer wedding orders are probably already out...they might have just been shut down last week. That wouldn't explain why their phones weren't working yesterday or today, but I'm probably making a mountain out of a molehill. I can certainly afford to give them a week or two before I start wigging out.

Well, my most horrible floral suspicions have been confirmed. I am, in fact, an indiot.

Marisol Blooms is located in Miramar, Florida. Yeah, that's along the southeastern coast of the state, which got hit by a Category 5 hurricane the other day. Duh, Mel, of course there's no one there! Of course the phones aren't working! I am feeling sooooo not smart right now.

AHHHHHHHHHHHH! I *completely* forgot about that too and I have clients down there telling me they still have no power!

Luckily it was only a Category 1 for them but I do know that they are still getting through things. Glad to know that you are still a go. WHEW! (And to think, I was on my way to post another resource for you. - SOOOooooo glad I don't need to.)

I actually got an e-mail from their customer service department today, and they're up and running again as far as I can tell. As long as they don't get slammed again, you should be fine, Brenda. Sorry to worry you. :o

Thank you for the update.

I was planning on trying to contact them tomorrow when I'm doing all the phone calls and emails.

You shouldn't have any trouble getting in touch with them. I've been e-mailing back and forth with them hammering out final details for the past two days. They're really very prompt about answering questions when a hurricane hasn't knocked out their power...I'm really glad to be working with them!

Just a heads up. We only received half of our flowers. DHL lost the roses we had ordered. We got a bunch from Sam's Club and changed the arrnagements and bouquets.

If you arranged for a Thursday delivery for a Saturday wedding, I would really consider getting them delivered on Wednesday so that DHL has a chance to deliver if their delayed. They still haven't arrived (due 9/15 for a 9/17 wedding).

Although DHL was apologetic after they didn't get delivered Friday, Marisol Blooms was not accomodating. Their only response was that they aren't responsible for carrier delays. While I understand that, we would have been much happier with a slightly less dismissive and snotty response. Even just a "Wow, that's too bad, let me call DHL and see what we can do," would have been a little easier to take. It wasn't so much their inaction as the attitude we received that left a bad taste.

I can understand how there's really nothing they can do about the delivery though... that was my big fear and why we over-ordered; we wanted more than enough to choose from as well.

Wow. I'm so sorry to hear that! I guess it just depends on which person you speak to down there...everyone I've talked to has been really polite and helpful. At least you were able to use Sam's to get more flowers...that's been a worry of mine, too.

I've scheduled our delivery for Tuesday before the wedding since we have a lot of lilies that need to open. How hard was it for you to re-hydrate your flowers? I gave 18 5-gallon pails to the person who is accepting the delivery for us, and told her she would just need to put the flowers in water when they arrive. Is that right?
