Show me curbside mailboxes

We just bought a new house and will be putting in a curbside mailbox. I'm looking for ideas on how to landscape around it. Thanks!

Here is a really dark picture from this spring, I took it right at dusk and the flash didn't work well enough:

We just took out the sod and I planted crocuses, daffodils and pansys. If I were to take a picture right now, most of the plants are dead because DH forgets to water when I travel.

What did you use for the edging?

We used bricks and some landscapers fabric on the edges to keep the weeds/grass out.
