Been watching a lot of the reruns over on VH1. I never really got into this show, but I am looking forward to watching a new season!!

Has anyone watched VH1's Celebrity Fit Club2? I think they've only had one show..but Toccara is one of the celebrities participating. She doesn't take the weight loss seriously and just laughs at them when they talk about goals. They want her to get down to 155lbs. She just laughed and said she would be tiny if she lost all that weight.

But she is beautiful.

And I'm super excited about the next season!

Signing up! This show is one of my dirty little secrets. I love it and never miss an episode. I even used to record it when I had class and had to miss it. Oh the shame!

Is anyone else bummed that Janice won't be on this year? I'm reserving judgement on Twiggy, but there's only one Janice. :D

mierin - Have you seen Janice on Surreal Life? It was so unlike her! I didn't know whether to be amused or be afraid for her. I had never seen pics of her from her modeling days before. She was GORGEOUS!

Jennifer, I watched a little of the first episode and I was also caught between being amused and horrified. I think maybe Janice in small doses, a la ANTM, is better than Janice for 30 minutes.

And you're right, Janice was absolutely gorgeous. She still looks great, but you can certainly tell she's had a LOT of work done.

I love this show and have watched every episode from the beginning. I think it will be weird without Janice there. She was a bit brutal but in such a way that you took it as her looking out for the models not just being plain mean. I didn't know there were re-runs on VH1. I'll have to check it out. :)

Janice was a love/hate relationship for me during ANTM...but after watching the surreal life I really don't like the woman. Yesterday's episode showed her and the others bowling against a bowling team that was mentally disabled and she kept talking about the "retards" very loudly and rudely. I lost all respect for her at that point.

I think ANTM is much better off without her.

Any ideas yet as to when the new season will be on?

JANICE DICKINSON: Back in the day I was doing runway, editorial, advertising, spokesmodeling, and public appearances. Those are five different categories. Your Twiggys and your Lauren Huttons weren’t doing that. I was Versace’s muse, I was Valentino’s muse, I was Alaia’s muse, Lancetti’s muse, Calvin Klein’s, Halston’s. I could go on and on.

Why do UPN and VH1 refer to you as “one of the world’s first supermodels” and “self-proclaimed first supermodel”? Are there other models trying to lay claim to the title?

JANICE DICKINSON: I am the world’s first supermodel. These network people are just angry people who were not around during the disco days and didn’t see that I was truly on the cover of every single magazine. They can say anything they want on America’s Next Top Model. I don’t give a rat’s ass; I know who I am. I worked for Vogue.

Is modeling today different from what it was at the height of your career?

JANICE DICKINSON: Models have it so easy today. They’re getting paid five times what I did, though in actuality the era of the super-model is over. It died with Heidi Klum and Gisele. You no longer see any of the super, warriorlike women walking around. The girls are getting smaller and smaller.

JANICE DICKINSON: Not shorter. Their personalities are getting smaller. And they’re all a bunch of drug-addict anorexics—which is actually not much different from what I was in my day. But now they’re handpicking them from the age of 14 and they’re just these dull, Calvin Klein, heroin-chic duds.

So can the girls who win America’s Next Top Model actually make it in the business?

JANICE DICKINSON: Absolutely not. They are not of the caliber I was, or even of what Tyra was.

Are they even good enough to be working models?

JANICE DICKINSON: No. America’s Next Top Model is good TV. But it’s not 7th Avenue.

Why did you leave the show?

JANICE DICKINSON: I got fired. At first it was a trip. I believed in the show and it was fun. But after a few episodes I began getting labeled a bitch, and that got to me. I was just telling the truth and I was saving these girls from going out there and being told that they’re too short, too fat, their skin’s not good enough. I was to ANTM what Simon Cowell is to American Idol.

It’s too bad. I think viewers loved that bitchiness.

JANICE DICKINSON: I’d rather be an honest bitch than some ass-kissing, sugarcoating, namby-pamby, wiping-ass mother****er. I made the show number one in 52 countries. And then I got the sack, and the UPN executives replaced me with Twiggy. No one in America knows who Twiggy is. There’s no way anyone could fill my shoes. There’s no way.

Was there anyone on the show who was particularly hard to work with?

JANICE DICKINSON: All of them.

I will also miss Nole and his small, strange dog. But Ms. Jay is awesome as well. Maybe he'll have a small dog.

I was to ANTM what Simon Cowell is to American Idol.

I completely agree with this. NO ONE else is being brutally honest with those girls.... and year after year you see them crown a "winner" who has zero chance of really making it as a model. I agree that this is more about television and less about these girls having actual modeling careers... but I appreciated that Janice was giving them honest feedback. Lord knows they're going to hear it as soon as they move to New York and start pounding the pavement.

I'll still watch ANTM, even though Tyra BUGS... but I'll miss Janice!

I know it's wrong, but I love Janice too! She just brings the crazy- here's to hoping Twiggy will be snarky and crazy too. I wasn't as a big of a fan of Nole, but some of his exchanges with Janice during judging were priceless. Without them, we'll never again hear witty barbs such as:

Nolé: "[Michelle] reminds me a lot of who I am."
Janice: "So you think you're a seven-foot-tall blonde?"

Janice: "Don't get me going, short, fat, squatty bald blind boy."

So, because I have too much time on my hands, I watched all the videos of the girls on UPN's website and did you know that Diane is supposed to be plus sized? Yeah, me neither. The defintion of "plus sized" really needs to be re-examined.

I love love love this show. Though I don't agree with the judges decisions half the time. I guess the final winners I've agreed with but the people being cut along the way may me scratch my head :confused: I don't have an early pick really but I like the look of Nicole...I like the innocent wide-eyed, dark hair thing. During semi-final casting, the girls must meet with Tyra one on one to show their personality and walk in an impromptu fashion show to impress J. Alexander and Jay Manuel to make the cut. Later, the 13 finalists find that they will live like real-life supermodels when they move into their new Bel-Air mansion home and are driven around town in an extravagant stretch limo. Later, one model trips while strutting her stuff in a Life & Style fashion show, and another model shocks everyone when she dives in to kiss a competitor.

I saw parts of it. I was trying to go back & forth with The Biggest Loser so I missed some. I always like to see what happened. Brita seems to have one of the more successful careers as a swimsuit/lingere model in LA (represented by Ford models). She even has a billboard. :) Several of the girls (Kahlen and ??) moved to NY to pursue their careers. Kahlen is still trying to get signed. Keneyah (I know that is spelled wrong) moved to NY and has a role on a soap opera. She seems to be doing well.

It's hard to tell who is really doing well from the little blurbs they show.

Well, once again this show has done an excellent job of picking interesting personalities.... but none of these girls are pretty enough to actually be "top models." I'm always sort of baffled when they reveal their casts. For all Tyra's talk of how a model has to be "fierce" and high fashion... they also HAVE to be beautiful. If you look at all the top girls working today, they're drop dead gorgeous. None of the girls on this show have the whole package. But that's okay... I'll still enjoy watching it.

Will someone please explain to me why, in the last two seasons, they have eliminated one of the prettiest girls in the whole group in the first episode? Makes no sense. Ashley may not have been the nicest girl there, but she was certainly one of the ones with the most potential. Although a little short at 5'8", I guess.

I think she's got kind of a classic beauty and fantastic skin. Not to mention a great, lanky body. However, I don't think she'll win because she's too conventionally beautiful, and this show always seems to give the top prize to girls who are sort of "odd." (Case in point= Naima. I don't get her look at all.)

Girl I can see going far based on what the judges have liked in the past? Jayla. She's also a little short at 5'8", though.

CAN'T STAND CASSANDRA!!!! Oh, I would just slap her if I was those other girls. What a beast. And her whole comment about sociopaths was just bizarre.

I enjoyed seeing the recap on how some of the girls from previous seasons were doing. Made me smile to see that Ann and Rebecca were working a lot. I thought they both had the most "model potential" in their seasons.

Well, I have to agree that this season was the big gorgeous season I was hoping for. I think some of the girls they cut in the first finalist draft would have been much better. However, with that said, I always love the makeover episode!!! HAHA, who will get their hair chopped off, which brunette will be made into a bleach blonde and which African American girl will be pissed off with an ugly weave?? We will find out next week!

I think they should have ditched Kim, her picture was HORRIBLE! the weird face, the weird pose, she looks so...unnatural! Ashley was pretty (an even though she was a bitch about it) I think her look was much better than some of those weird faces we've got this season. Why do they always cut the pretty blonde girl first, they've done that for the past three seasons?? Um, hello...Coryn?? She scares me! Those eyebrows (which I'm sure will be the first things to be waxed next week) scare me! And I don't think Ebony is all that pretty, she's got flared out horse nostrils.

Yes, but it would be glamorous... particularly if they put them up someplace nice.

Since L.A. isn't exactly a huge center of fashion, I think it's good they take them somewhere that there is a real fashion culture. London certainly has that. I love L.A. and there's a lot of good local designers here, but it's no New York. Models should be in New York, generally.

This is the first season that I liked everyone's makeovers. Usually a couple of the girls look terrible when it is all done (think bleach blonde Michelle last season), but this cycle was different. I even like Cassandra's hair short, she actually does have a strong enough face to pull it off.

I cannot stand Lisa anymore. She did look good in her picture, but what an attitude! I doubt she will be Covergirl of the Week this time.

At first I thought the producers were going to exaggerate Lisa's obnoxious behavior, but she really did that all her self. Way annoying. I know that high fashion models don't have to be knock dead beautiful, but I agree with whoever said it, she looks like a crack-whore LOL.

I was pleasantly surprised with all the makeovers. I think Nik looks awesome, and her Country Couture shot was amazing! I agree that they need to cut Jayla's hair again, the long extensions are doing nothing for her. I think Cassandra's short hair is awesome, but I think it will look even better shorter. Although I do think it's a little harsh on teh blonde side, they need to tone it down. But there always has to be a brunette go bleach blonde. Why do they always do that?
I'm liking Nicole more and more, her pic was hot!
As for Lisa being bitchy....yes....however it would be a shame to loose her, because she's the only one who seems genuinely into fashion. She *knows* the business, and yes, she knows the poses. All models should *know* the poses, and study the magazines to get them down pact. This is their job...KNOW YOUR JOB! There's more to posing than sticking your head back, chin out and looking like you've been hit with a stun-gun. Lisa knows how to use her body, the other girls should watch out for her.

I was a little bit surprised when they called Cassandra's name first at judging. I thought they called the names in order of who they thought were best. Maybe they've changed that this season, but that's always been for the last seasons.

Yeah, she was really a complete moron. They went to their photo shoot and they took Cassandra aside as well as the other girl with the dark hair who had extensions put in. They told them that their hair was going to be "fixed". That meant that the dark hair girl (what's her name?) got the extensions taken out and that Cassandra was going to get hers cut a little more. The other girl was happy about the change and went off to have it done and Cassandra said that she would have to think about it. They came back to her eventually and she said that she didn't want them to cut anymore because she didn't want them to change who she was :rolleyes: So the guy told her that she would have to leave the show then and there. And she said okay and left...she seemed relieved because she could go home and get extensions and be the pagent girl she wants to be. Somehow I feel really sorry for the dufus who ends up her husband...but maybe not if he chooses to marry someone like that :p

I think my favorite is Jayla, the brunette they did a bob on. Except I think her teeth may be too small, they seem to like a lot of teeth, and although hers show, she's got big gums (or is it little teeth?). Kyle is very pretty, as are all the girls. I don't like the one that looks like Sandra Bernard, what a perfect match for her. She's pretty in the pictures, but a know-it-all, and I'm gagging when she doesn't stop talking too!

I think I read she got let go because she was on Surreal Life and maybe that interfered with shooting ANTM.

Janice definitely brings life to this show. Twiggy is kind of boring and safe. I've been watching on and off after religiously watching the past 3 seasons and this season is just....blah. I think Nic is pretty but there isn't anyone who just grabs me and screams "model!"

I was so glad that Nik didn't get the boot. I really like her, for one she is pretty and has done fairly well up to this point (and last night wasn't that bad, pu-leeeeze!)...and she is so much more mature than the other girls in the house.
I was also surprised at Jayla's brattiness. She was complaining how it was "so high school", gimme a break lady, you're causing alot of the strife in the house! I really liked her but now not as much, but still more than Lisa. Sorry, I don't feel sorry for anyone who is completely at fault for where they put themselves. I mean, it's sad that she doesn't realize her comments to the other girls are totally unnecessary, it's sad that she feels she has to drink as much as she does, but I can't feel sorry for her. She'll go far however, the producers are setting it up that way.

I would imagine that someone from Secret, or Secret's advertising agency, probably had something to do with the choice. It probably also has something to do with the magazine the ad is in too. Nicole would be a better choice for say, Seventeen magazine, than Lisa.

20 year old Eva Pigford of UPN's 'America's Next Top Model' Reality Show recently became engaged to 36 year old Henry Simmons of NYPD Blue and is sporting a 5 karat diamond ring to prove it. Henry met Eva at a fashion show
where the diva worked the catwalk and it was love at first sight, he said.
"Eva is an intelligent business minded individual that I deeply love very much," he said. The couple are planning a spring wedding in California next year.

Eva who came to fame in 2004 was a 19-year-old student from Los Angeles who had been criticized for her "diva" t-- earlier in the t--, was crowned 'America's Next Top Model' during the third cycle of the popular UPN

Just got back from my honeymoon and spent last night catching up on the two ANTM episodes I missed. Thank goodness for TIVO! :p

We had really rainy weather in Amsterdam during the HM and the houseboat we'd rented had a little library that included Janice Dickinson's autobiography. So, what the hell, I read it! It was actually really interesting. While she's definitely insane, the book really makes you understand WHY and sense that she's trying to be a better person now that she's older. And the tidbits about the modeling industry were priceless.

Anyway, it was great to see Janice back on ANTM. Her book talks all about how she's become this respected photographer, so that was kinda neat. I think Tyra hates her and that's why she's no longer on the show and wasn't a guest judge.

I loved Nicole's "Secret" photo. Just gorgeous. I wish she had a little more personality to go along with her looks, though. Still think she has the most model potential out of all of them.

this pic reminded me of how beautiful janice dickinson used to be. she looks so plastic now from all the surgery. i do miss her nastiness and honesty as a judge. i remember reading an article where they asked her if the girls that had won "top model" could be supermodels and she said no way, that they could never be at her level or even tyra's level. she said that she really doesn't believe the show can make a supermodel, but it's just for entertainment. ouch!

LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) "America's Next Top Model" has been UPN's highest-rated show for much of the last couple of seasons. Now, the network is banking that the show's past participants will draw viewers to its other shows as well.
The week of Nov. 7 -- the first full week of November sweeps -- has been dubbed "Top Model Week" on the network. Past or current contestants from the show will appear on UPN programs -- even "Friday Night Smackdown!" -- each night that week.

In fact, only a music special honoring Patti LaBelle on Nov. 8 and "Everybody Hates Chris" (the only UPN show doing better than "Top Model" this fall) on Nov. 10 will be model-free.

The network's Monday comedies will all feature guest appearances by past "ANTM" contestants on Nov. 7. Season three's Norelle Van Herk will pop up on "One on One," followed by Mercedes Yvette on "All of Us," Toccara Jones on "Girlfriends" and Keenyah Hill on "Half & Half."

The previous week's "Top Model" episode will air prior to the LaBelle special on the 8th. Why did you leave the show?

I got fired. At first it was a trip. I believed in the show and it was fun. But after a few episodes I began getting labeled a bitch, and that got to me. I was just telling the truth and I was saving these girls from going out there and being told that they’re too short, too fat, their skin’s not good enough. I was to ANTM what Simon Cowell is to American Idol.

Kim's pic looked pretty good, but she still irks me. Think of it this way: the main prize is a contract as the next Cover Girl model. Who primarily uses cover girl makeup? young, pre-teen and teen girls. Girls who are into makeup and being pretty and girly. Is an adrogeness (sp??) girl who looks like a boy really the ideal fit for "cover Girl Cosmetics?" Are young girls going to buy their makeup from a chic that looks like a dude? From a marketting perspective...she just isn't the right fit.
I think Lisa is kicking ass! I've been a Lisa fan from the beginning, but my prediction is that Nicole is going to win this season!

This show is so lame. They always come up with dumb excuses to cut the prettiest girls who have the most potential. :rolleyes: Granted, she wasn't taking the best photos, but she still should have gone farther than Bre, or even Jayla and Nik! Whatever.

Kim's photo tonight was GREAT.

Based on who we've got left, I think Nicole has got to win. I think her only real competition is Jayla, but now Jayla's being depicted as "the bitch", so that seems to indicate she won't win. Kim is adorable, but not really versatile. Most of her photos haven't been great. The rest of the girls just aren't doing it for me at all. Lisa takes good photos, but she's too old/crazy.

Some observations from the recap show:

- They made Jayla out to be the big bitch, not Lisa. Interesting. Jayla is clearly now the "villian." I would take this to mean she won't win.

- Nicole had a really big part in the recap and got a lot more face time than she has in the show up until now. This would indicate to me that she's important from here on out. Possibly in the top 2.

Funniest moments:

- The girls mocking Cassandra with the puppets.

- Jayla's topless dance on the kitchen counter.

- Lisa's "workout." She looked like such a spaz.

- When the girls were chasing the bird around the house and Jayla was in the other room rolling her eyes.

Jonathan writes, "America's Next Top Model lost two wannabe models this week when Cassandra quit and Sarah was eliminated by the judging panel. Find out what both of them had to say in these exclusive interviews.

Cassandra

Jonathan: “What made you initially decide to try out for Next Top Model?”

Cassandra: “I was always just interested in modeling and thought it was a great opportunity. Living in Texas, it’s not exactly a fashion capital, and I didn’t have the money to move to L.A. or New York, so I decided to send in a tape.”

Jonathan: “Do you regret at all your decision to walk away from the show?”

Cassandra: “No, not at all. I think they were trying to change every aspect of my style and I didn’t need that. It wasn’t just my hair, they were really trying to change who I was.”

Jonathan: “Have you stayed in touch with any of the girls from the house?”

Cassandra: “Yeah, I talk to Kim and Sarah and Jayla and Kyle and Bre. I get along with all of them.”

Jonathan: “Do you think that if you’d stayed in you could have won?”

Cassandra: “I think I could have gotten pretty far, but I can’t say for sure I could have won. The competition’s just too unpredictable for you to say ‘I would have won,’ but I like to think I would have made it far.”

Jonathan: “Is your hair still blond or did you go back to being brunette?”

Cassandra: “I’m back to brunette, the blond thing was not working at all. I got a lot of comments on the blond, like, ‘Oh, my God, what were they thinking?’ (Laughing) There are a few people who liked it short, but everybody I knew hated me as a blond.”

Jonathan: “So what’s next for you- are you going back to competing in pageants?”

Cassandra: “I’m going to school right now, and I really want to get my degree and I’ll take it from there. It’s really important for me to have that degree to fall back on, just in case anything doesn’t work out, and it’s really important to my family, too.”

Jonathan: “Last question- what would you like to say to all your fans out there?”

Cassandra: “Thank you for supporting me and understanding what I’ve done. I just wanted to be myself and had to take myself out of that situation to be myself. Thank you for understanding that.”

Sarah: “Well, I’d kind of tried some modeling before and had an agency and thought I’d give it one last shot, so I sent in a tape and it ended up changing my life.”

Jonathan: “What was your favorite part of the experience, start to finish?”

Sarah: “Probably just my time in the house getting to know the girls. I’m kind of a tomboy most of the time, I don’t hang out with girls all that much, but getting to spend so much time with them was just great.”

Jonathan: “Besides Kim, who were you closest to in the house?”

Sarah: “Coryn. Coryn and I were really close, I’m surprised they didn’t show that, and Kyle, too. She’s a doll.”

Jonathan: “Was there anyone you weren’t particularly close to?”

Sarah: “Probably Lisa, I didn’t like her that much. You can’t like everybody and I just didn’t like her. She was drunk all the time and really came across as a know-it-all.”

Jonathan: “Why do you think the judges ultimately decided to cut you?”

Sarah: “You know, I don’t know. I think it was a mix of things. My walk was improving, but they probably didn’t think there was enough time in the world for me to perfect it. And I think they could also tell I was really stressing out. My problems were in my head, not my feet.”

Jonathan: “Have you stayed in touch with anybody from the show?”

Sarah: “Yeah, I talk to Kim all the time, I talk to Kyle sometimes and Coryn every once in a while. They’re great friends.”

Jonathan: “What’s next for you- are you going to continue with modeling?”

Sarah: “I think so. I’m gonna get out of Boonville and go to New York or L.A., where there are more opportunities. But it really is a passion of mine and I’d love to make a career out of it.”

Jonathan: “Last question- what would you like to say to all your fans out there?”

Sarah: “Just thank you so much, you’ve been so supportive and great and really made this whole experience wonderful. I can’t thank you enough.”

I have to agree with you the ONLY place I have seen Eva is on ANTM. The only place I see any of the other models are on UPN, Tyra Banks show, or ANTM.

honestly I don't think that any of them did well at all for this shoot. I think they decided not to eliminate anyone, because they all have "potential" in their own ways, and they wanted to see if any of them could really "step it up".

apoppy: you're not the only sad one- I have read Elise's blog too. She definitely is one of the only contestants that actually has been successful in a legitimate modeling career.

And I totally agree that these girls are nowhere near tall enough to model. I think Nicole is the tallest one left and she appears to tower over the other girls, but I think she is maybe 5'10 tops.

As for other winner's success, I think Yoanna now hosts the show Look for Less on the style network. Elisabeth Hasselbeck from Survivor hosted this previously before she got on the view. Never seen the show, so I can't really say if she's any good.

yeah, i thought she was the only one who looked like a model. does anyone know why she continued with modeling? from what i saw on the show, she was more into getting into medical school and didn't seem to really like being a model.

i was also wondering why she's modeling in japan. is her "look" right for fashion there?

I am so glad to see Lisa gone. I'm sorry, just because you take good pictures shouldn't excuse your freakiness. She was mental and she needs some serious help or medication or something....she's not right, so I agree with Bre there. Though I thought she was a hypocrite for outing Kim on being a gossip. Wasn't she doing the exact same thing she was getting after Kim for? I think Tyra should have got rid of Jayla too. Both her and Lisa deserved to go, for different reasons.

This show is so odd. I'm 32 so I can say this - 24 is OLD for a model. No one would hire Lisa. Nicole is by far the most stunning and the only one with the height of a model. I hate that personality is so important. Obviously picking based on personality doesn't help them. If personality is so important, then Twiggy and Kate Moss wouldn't have been so popular. Yes, there are models with personality but there are others who are so stunning that it doesn't matter.

Sad to see Lisa go because she actually brought entertainment to the show. The rest of those girls are all DUDS...boooring. Jayla annoys me with how she talks behind clentched teeth. Her photo booth pic from last night sucked too. I think she will get the boot soon enough.

I hope Kim doesn't win. She looks too much like a boy. I was flipping channels during commercials and there was a VH1 commercial for best artist or something and they flashed someone and I had to do a double take because I was wondering why Kim was on a music award show. well, it wasn't Kim but Billy (is that his name) from Green Day.......good grief~!

Ditto Kam! I think she has only lasted this long to give some spice to the episodes.

Right now my money is on Bre (although I noticed in the last episode that she is about as short as Kim) or Nic, simply because they have been able to change their looks the most in photos.

I looked on upn.com and it seems they no longer do the dialoge with the model who was just cut. I remember there used to be a question/answer session the day after the model was cut

Actually, Nicole is 5'9" and the others are all 5'8". Only a one inch difference. I love Bre and Nik, though.
