You missed one of the best OTH episodes ever, I hope you get to see it!

It was 2-hours long. Things heated up between Lucas and Brooke after they returned from a trip to New York for an overnight stay with Haley. He confessed his feelings for her and she turned him down and left to visit her parents for the summer. Nathan and Deb were conspiring to desert Dan for good and at the end someone set his dealership on fire with him in it. Jake was released from jail and comes to say goodbye to Peyton. This woman shows up and tells Peyton she's her mother. Andy invited Karen to spend the summer with him in New Zealand. After several unreturned phone calls to him, Karen decides to go there and it shows her leaving at the end. Also, Hayley comes back and shows her knocking on Nathan's door at the end.

So, we have lots of unanswered questions at this point!

Remember, Nathan had asked Lucas to drop the pursuit of getting Dan in trouble? He pursued it (with the help of Andy) and Nathan found out. He also found the annullment papers Haley had signed when Lucas went to New York to see her.

I THINK that's what she meant???

Hope y'all can all still watch. I wanted to watch the Martha Stewart Apprentice, but I think I have to stay with One Tree Hill. There's a chance I can get both tuners on TIVO, but that's if no one else in the house wants to watch anything :rolleyes:

Joining! Love One Tree Hill! The premier was great, but all the flashbacks left me somewhat confused... Did Haley ever sign the papers? Are they technically still married? It didn't look like she did, but maybe I missed it. I can't wait to see who set Dan on fire. It could have been anyone. For some reason I'm thinking its Jules b/c she is not a significant character and wouldn't be missed too much...However, if Keith is not going to have a big returning role, it might be him.... I can't wait to see how the show progresses. The new time works perfectly for me...I have an infant, so staying awake past 9pm is difficult! LOL!

I'm thinking Lucas set the fire. He told Peyton that he did something that night. And at the end he was shown holding the note with burned edges that had been left for Dan with the whiskey. It said, "For all you've done." Or something close to that. I think Peyton was narrating that part and when they showed Lucas with the note she said, "Some men are good fighting evil."

I was so sad when he was having chest pains while playing basketball. Seeing Brooke and Lucas "dating" is weird now that they have split IRL.

I'm sure Nathan and Haley will get back together :rolleyes:

Could be Lucas...or maybe he did the poisoning and the fire was cooincidental. We shall see. I liked the end with Peyton narrating. I think that was a nice touch. I'm rooting for Haley and Nathan.

BUT, the edges of the note were burned. Lucas had to have been there when the fire started. And didn't Dan see someone walking towards him through the flames in his flashback? But then, we don't know who called for help. I guess Lucas could have called anonymously if the fire was an accident and he didn't want to get into trouble. But he has been swearing to stop Dan, so I would bet it was him.

Yes, they are Seniors this year. Brooke parents moved away and she wanted to finish high school there. Nathan and Haley are married. Yes, a little far fetched, but makes for some good "teen" drama :p

I didn't think Lucas started the fire. That scene with peyton, lucas and Dan was so good. I loved that Nathan put his hand on Hailey's back as they walked down the hall. Gotta love Whitey!! This season has started with a bang. I can't wait to see what happens next week.

GRRRRR! I hate Chris. I can't beleive he is back. I was feeling really good about the episode and then when they revealed Chris as the kisser...yuck! it made me feel all unsettled and annoyed. i think it was Hailey in the pic.

We have one channel that is sometimes UPN and sometimes the WB. They air UPN shows through primetime, and then the WB shows (One Tree Hill, Gilmore Girls, Everwood, etc.) come on starting at 10pm.

Keith is still in the credits, so i assume he'll be back. side note: I was watching "the program" last weekend and keith was the main football player! He was much younger.

I hate the new girl! What a trash can! I did find it amusing that she was so much like Brooke use to be. Lucas, was a jerk. He could have been more aggressive about fending off RAchel.

I love that Karen is going to run against Dan and Deb walking out in that get-up with a drink and a smoke, was classic.

I'll have to agree with the cheese factor, esp. the part(s) where Dan and Deb are taking turns playing pranks on each other, but funny nonetheless.

So, they'll win the championship this year and Nathan and Luke will be buds again, I bet.

Is Peyton making real podcasts? I don't have an IPOD, but DH can get podcasts at work. I'd be interested in hearing one of them. She is my favorite character, but Lucas is my favorite to look at ;)

P.S. I can kinda understand what Brooke was trying to do with Lucas. She was trying to make him work for her and prove himself to her. Remember, he did cheat on her with her best friend. He shouldn't be able to have her back too easily. If he didn't hang around and keep trying, she would know she couldn't trust him.

I was thinking the exact same thing!!! I watched it last night(I had it Tivo) and I am really getting dissappointed! I was really thinking this season was going to be really really good. But I dont think it is going to happen. With the whole fire episode I thought it was going to turn around!

I think maybe because it did take away the adult relationships. We haven't seen Keith, Jules, or Andy and last season we saw a split with the teen drama and the adults with their own and then the mix between the two. I think thats whats lacking.

I really thought that this was one of the best One Tree Hill episodes ever. I loved seeing a side of Chris that didn't involve him being a total bastard. I thought it was really sweet of him to sell his precious guitar for Hayley. I also loved the flashback between Dan winning the election, and Deb setting the place on fire.

I thought it was a good episode too. I am really happy that Haley and Nathen are back together. I know that what Haley did was wrong but we keep forgetting that these kids are just in High School. I think that Haley realizes what she did was wrong and she's been doing everything she can to make it better.

Brooke took Lucas the letters that she had written to him over the summer and never mailed. She told him again that she was afraid he'd break her heart again. She cried a lot (or tried to) and then when she left, Lucas ran after her, told her that he forgave her, and they told each other "I love you." Happy ending.

I'm disappointed to see Chris Kellar go, I got a kick out of him. He could be really funny. I didn't see it coming that Deb set the fire. But now she took off and left Nathan behind, when she kept telling him that they would get away from Dan together? That's terrible. But is Deb the one on the tape buying liquor? Dan showed it to Karen, and told her it was someone she loved, but we didn't see who it was. Who was it that she called and asked if they tried to kill Dan, saying it was important to know the truth? I don't think it was Deb on the tape. And it definitely wasn't Deb that Karen called because Deb didn't know that anyone was on to her until Lucas told her while Dan was giving his speech. What was up with that? Did someone help her?

I loved seeing Peyton's "dark side." It was nice to see that she can act a little differently than poor me, brooding Peyton.

The previews for the upcoming episodes talk about a "return" of some sort. I couldn't find anything on the WB website about it though.

Watched the recorded show last night. My thoughts on this episode:

1. WTH is up with Lucas' afro? Seriously, get a hair cut.

2. I hate this whole Nathan/Lucas fued again. They already did that. Be friends again, it's not as fake and annoying.

3. Keith - love to see you back. But I don't get why Karen was all kissy after all of that time when she was pushing him away. Don't get it, but I'm willing to go along with it for the time being.

4. I'm really liking the Payton/Ellie thing. I was thinking that they really look a lot alike. But, poor Payton is going to be messed up after she loses another parent.

5. Just when I was wondering when Lucas was going to collapse, I saw the scenes from the next episode. That should be a good one!

The mom of Jake's baby in One Tree Hill - that evil one (can't think of her name on the show) is now on Two and a Half Men. She is also on this month's cover of Maxim. I always thought she was too old for a high school boy.

I liked last night's episode. I thought it was really interesting the way they went back and forth between the ongoing events and the meetings with the counselor. How is this show going to continue after they graduate? I guess they can work it out so they all go to school near each other, but....that's so 90210 and Dawson's Creek! LOL!

I know someone that went to high school with him and she said he was the same way back then. She said he was arrogant and a cheater. I guess he was in the store my DH works in sometime this past year and was completely rude to the cashier. Something went wrong at the cash out and he got all pissy and screamed at her "Don't you know who I am ?!?"

Camdynlyn used to live in Wilmington, NC where they film OTH. She knew some people he had gotten with down there too. I guess he's not real secretive about his extra-marital affairs. There have been many reported by the pap. also. I still think he's hot (minus the do lately...yuck!) :o

I give SB credit for being able to continue this "relationship" on the air with him, but I still don't think she's a great actress. I like Peyton much better.

Her new last name is Galeotti or something like that. :) Her new husband is named Michael and he's in some band called Enation.

The bad thing about this UPN-WB merger is that I believe One Tree Hill is one of those shows that is on the line. So far, I haven't seen it listed as one of the for sure shows that will make it onto the new CW network.

This is my first year watching the season from the start, and I would be sad if it got cancelled!

Southerner, I've recently been catching up on Season one of OTH via Netflix. Fun to watch the first batch of episodes!

RE: Bethany Joy Lenz getting married, I actually came across the information while trying to find information on the song she sang a couple of episodes ago. FWIW, its called "Halo" and will be on the next OTH soundtrack. Anyway, that's where I found that out. I agree that she's not well known enough for her marriage to make the news, I guess. Probably why hers will last, too. ;)

I was crying when Peyton was saying goodbye to Ellie. However, when she walked in to find Ellie - wouldn't the first reaction be to call 911, not sit down and cry? What if she could be revived? Okay, I know it's TV.

I know the previews say something about Peyton being shot or shes shot or something, but even if she is shot, I don't think should be be killed off. I don't think it is Keith b/c of the shot we see of Brooke all upset. So my bet is on Mouth. The two week wait sucks though!!

My feeling about the next episode is that the Jimmy kid is going to go crazy and threaten to kill people but in the end just kill himself. I can't seem them killing off a main character but one never knows! I hope they don't kill off Mouth, I like him ;)

I think the only reason that Brooke is crying is because Peyton gets shot. I'm sure it's going to be a - she's like my family and the only person close to me. I can't believe she's hurt and I'm crying because I can't imagine her being out of my life - type of thing.

And, can I just point out something? When that tape was playing, I'm sure there is not only one room where someone could stop the tape. Why wouldn't teachers jump up and shut off the TVs?? (okay okay - I know it's a TV show).

I was thinking the same thing! :p

The 23-year-old actress is seeking to annul her five-month marriage to Murray, 24, according to papers filed Friday in Los Angeles Superior Court. Bush cited "fraud" as the reason for wanting to clear the relationship from the books.

Anyone care to recap....please!

Basically, it's a "normal" day at Tree Hill high and Jimmy shows up to school and sees a bunch of jocks going through his locker and throwing stuff around. He gets pissed and aims his gun at them and shoots. They duck and the bullet goes through the door behind them where Peyton and Brooke just showed up. That was the first two minutes.

Brooke gets swept outside by the crowd and looses Peyton. She runs into the basketball team getting off the bus and Nathan runs in the school after Haley. Lucas follows Nathan and ends up finding Peyton who was shot. They go and hide in the library. They kiss and Peyton tells Lucas she loves him. This seemed more like "in the moment" than really something that would come up later.

Haley, Mouth, Nathan, Jimmy, and a couple of other no-name characters get locked in a room together. Jimmy goes nuts and holds a gun on them and they spend most of the episode trying to talk him out of doing anything.

Meanwhile outside, Dan, Keith, and Karen show up to get their sons and Karen has to go and pick up Brooke because her parents aren't there. Keith knows Jimmy and says he wants to go talk to him and he and Dan argue over it.

Jimmy gets mad inside and says he will shoot the next person who comes in the school. You hear a door slam and Jimmy leaves and it is Lucas carrying Petyon out of hte school. Keith walks in and talks Jimmy into letting Lucas and Peyton go. They talk for a few minutes and Jimmy shoots himself.

We all relaxed across America thinking the spoilers were wrong and Keith is not being killed. Then Dan comes in and Keith says, Jimmy's dead. Dan just picks up the gun and shoots Keith. The end, no previews.

Screams are heard in living rooms across America at this point :)

Yep! It was fishy from the beginning. After he adopted Lucas, I knew that had to be where the story line was going.

Although, we don't have it confirmed that he is actually dead. (I think he is). But, they ended it with him being shot and we haven't seen it after that.

I can't believe Dan shot Keith either. I know its TV, but there are soooo many holes in that story. The police would NEVER let two civilians walk right into the school with a shooter on the loose. The SWAT team would be first in. It would not be up to the mayor whether or not someone who knew the shooter would be allowed in to talk to him. AND the position of Keith's body, and other crime scene stuff would make it obvious that Jimmy did not shoot Keith before killing himself. Even if Dan tried to move Keith, wouldn't there be a blood trail? I know, I know, it's OTH, not CSI!!

The CW -- America's new fifth terrestrial network being created out of a merger between The WB and UPN -- has confirmed that it plans to stick with its current moniker.

Despite being mockingly called "The WC" in some quarters, the network's entertainment chief Dawn Ostroff has revealed that the name already has close to 50% recognition among The CW's 18-34 demographic.

The network has also started indicating which shows will be returning for the 2006-07 TV season. Everwood, Reba, Everybody Hates Chris, Veronica Mars, Gilmore Girls, Supernatural and One Tree Hill have all been mentioned on promo leaflets for the network's launch.

Also among announcements from The CW were confirmations on 27 new station affiliates; the network now has around 66% US terrestrial coverage.

There was some comment in a thread to put extra spaces before the white text due to that. That way once you start to read it in email, you can chose not to scroll down and see it. But it never bothers me because I LOVE the spoilers! :D

I couldn't stand how she was treating Lucas either, but I guess that's her way of grieving :rolleyes: I dunno why but I have this feeling that Dan is gonna start to go crazy. The images are gonna haunt him. Is Deb supposed to come back??

Lots to comment on....

I liked how they went through the stages of grieving (even though they all happened in an hour :rolleyes: ). I thought they could have done a much better job of illustrating each stage within the characters more. Oh well!

Are Karen and Lucas the only ones that know that Deb set the fire? Dan thinks Keith did it, right?

Brooke and Peyton being roommates should be interesting. Looks like Peyton's getting a piece in the previews :D

I'm wondering if Rachel really is evil enough to want to broadcast those journal diaries all over the school or if she meant to just see them herself :confused:

With regard to Rachel releasing the time capsule, I'm pretty sure she did it b/c she was feeling like an outcast after the Sparkle Classic where she was in charge until Brooke came back. Remember how they screwed up and everyone just started being goofy and dancing, and Rachel was just left to the side by herself? I knew she released the time capsule b/c of that scene right there.

Deb is coming back, I read about it somewhere. I agree that Dan looks like he's going to go a little crazy with guilt, and hopefully everyone will find out the truth. Deb must be returning in relation to that storyline, so I imagine the truth will come out like a pp said, and Dan will realize what he's done.

I am getting the impression that OTH is really on the line with regards to making the schedule next year. I wish that stupid network would just release their schedule or let us know what shows are coming back. I'm still waiting to hear about Veronica Mars, too!

I'm pretty sure there hasn't, actually. The network floated around a couple of potential schedules, and VM & GG were on it, and GG is definitely coming back. However, they said those were just ideas they were considering and nothing had been decided yet. But no confirmation on VM and even less speculation on OTH.

Yeah I wasn't sure what was going on either. Did it happen as she was leaving? Or as she was getting off the plane in Chicago?

If you remember right last time they brought him in they ended that show and you weren't sure if she was daydreaming it. I think it would be great if they bring them back into it! :)

The show eluded that Payton would get on the plane to go see Pete from Fall Out Boy, but when they showed her getting off the plane the person she was meeting was Jake. He was standing there with his daughter and the daughter walked to Payton and she picked her up.

I guess I'm not a CMM fan because when he started to tell her and was starting to cry - my reaction was a roll of the eyes and then just "ewww." (eloquent huh?). I guess I'm holding a grudge against the character due to the actor's actions!

I thought the introduction of Nathan's uncle was odd. I don't remember him from past episodes. My first thought was wondering if this is supposed to be Keith's replacement.

Interesting that Dan wasn't in this ep either.

vwinkel, Nathan's uncle was who they went to visit right when Haley left for her music tour last season. You never saw the car crash episode?

Regarding Jake (in white)

He isn't scheduled to be on the show again this season.

TJO, He used to play on the basketball team. He and Payton have been through alot, most recently being romantically involved. He has a daughter (Jenny) and there's all this old drama with the mother (Nikki). There's a lot more history than that, but hopefully that brings you up to speed enough.

I watched the basketball scene in slow-mo, looking for CMM's new girl. I didn't see her though.

Poor Karen :(

I didn't figure it out either! I thought maybe they were going to bring Haley's sister back into the mix or something.
