Growing up, I always had very very short hair. Boy short. I started the painful process of growing it out in high school and I've worn it long ever since. It's now just below the bottom of my shoulder blades, roughly. It's been about a year since I got it cut (bad, I know, but I'm so afraid of them cuttin gtoo much off that I put if off) and it's time. I hade some very logn layers in the front which you could barely see whnI first got them and by now they are logn gone. Other than that, there is no style really. I'd like to do something a little bit braver, but I need to account for the fact that 95% of the time it's in a ponytail or bun and I need to still be able to do that. Also, I'm lazy and almost never blow dry or do anythign to it, and I dont' really use any product on a daily basis, so it need to look good when I just wash and wear.

I have fairly fine strands of hair, but the overall appearance is think because I have a ton of it. My hair it fairly stright on it's own. Any suggestions?? TIA!

All I've come up with thus far is this, which I like, but I'm not toally sold on because it's not as much of a style as I'd like. The chuny layers in the front, which look chunkier in the first pic appeal to me though. Thoughts?

Well, I like the long layers. They're pretty versatile -- you can wear them straight like in your photo or wavy as in this one of Gwyneth Paltrow:

And I love Eva Longoria's hair:

What color is your hair?? Maybe you can add some bangs so that when you want to throw your hair up you can just style those real quick and be on your way. I like them because even on your worst hair days you can do your bangs and still look polished.

I like the chunkier layers.... Are you doing some chunkier color to go with it??
