We'll have to make our next GTG on a weekend. The one we are having this Tuesday is mainly during the week because a lot of us that are going are SAHMs and also MagDeSilver will be in town that day. Deerfield beach always has something cool going on. A couple years ago they had Lee Greenwood there and he sang "God Bless The USA" while the fireworks were goin off. It was awesome. It's typically really packed, so we go really early and just stay all day. There are a few bars and resturaunts and a Ho Jo's ice cream at one end (can't pass that up!!).

Just finding this thread now! I live in Wellington but I'm born and raised in South Florida (Ft. Lauderdale/Aventura area). Before I met DH I was living in Plantation. Up until March I worked in Ft. Lauderdale (now I'm a SAHM). My parents still live in Davie but they have their house up for sale so they can move closer to us.

Hey girls. My neighbors are selling their couch and i've been recruited to find somone to buy it!!!! It's a very plush, micro fiber couch. The back pillows and cousions are attached, so it's dog and kid friendly. It is a Dark khaki brown color. Very soft and SUPER comfortable (DH and I have spent many an evening hanging out on that couch watching movies and playing video games with them!!). The couch is about 6 months old. They are asking $100 for it OBO. Please Send me a PM if you are interested and we'll set up a time for you to come see it.

I have gone to so many since before we even got married that now it's nothing new. Several of us met on WC before we even got married and now we have kids and are still getting together. My in-laws live in N. Ft. Myers. We've been to visit them before. We are going down there next week.

I'd love to find a place that my DH and I can go out to. Maybe a lounge or a place to listen to live music. We'll be staying in North Ft. Myers, but I wouldn't mind driving a little bit if it was a great place.

DH and I haven't had a "real" vacation in ages and I'm trying to turn one night visiting the family into our "night out." I'd appreciate any and all suggestions. We've eaten at a lot of restaurants in the area, but I'd love suggestions on that topic as well.

I've gone to the Marriott Harbour Beach Resort & Spa several times... it's AWESOME. Also, the Boca Resort has a really great spa. At the marriott they give you use of the facilites all day if you have a spa appt - they have pools, saunas, workout rooms, yoga, pilates - it's all free with a spa service.

My massage therapist Anita is AMAZING! She gave me massages my entire pregnancy. he was at my chiropractors office, but now she's at a new location now in Coral Springs & is currently running an intro special. $99 for a 1 hour massage & 1 hour facial. I plan on making an appt for the special next month. I highly recommend her.

The 22nd looks ok to me now. It depends if I send Allie to school that day or not. She usually doesn't go to school on a Tuesday, but since there is no school on Friday, they usually let me send her another day to make it up.

I'm up for the 22nd! I'd prefer the daytime just because of DD's schedule. She goes to sleep pretty early (although who knows what travelling will do to her) and is not particularly pleasant to be around when she's tired.... :)

What about Liberty Park in Parkland? It's a great park for the kiddos and lots of tables & such to sit at with shade.
The older kids can run around & there are baby swings for the younger ones. We can eaither do potluck or everyone can bring there own lunch which is probably easier actually.

Daniella Jamie arrived 8:06 this morning. She weighs 7 lb 9 oz and 20 inches. She looks just like Allie, but with dark hair!

Mom & baby are both doing great. This AM she was in a lot of pain, but when another friend went to see them just 7 hours after delivery, Cori looked great. I'd post a pic, but I'll leave that to Cori for when she returns.

Since I looked so good, the Dr. let me go home 2 days after my C-section so I could spend New Years with Hal, Allie, and Daniella at home. I am still in pain, but doing well. Daniella is a cutie pie. The spitting image of Allie. But unlike Allie, she is nursing like a champ. :D Never would I have dreamed that I would be able to breast feed Daniella and do so at the computer no less. Allie isn't sure what to make of Daniella yet. She kissed ger once but is mostly avoiding her. I know it will take some time for her to accept Daniella and get used to her. Anyway, one handed typing isn't easy so like I said, I will be back soon with pics and more of a story. :) HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

I am sorry to hijack the thread - but I have a request for suggestions.... DH and I (and DD) are going to Miami/Ft. Lauderdale/Aventura area in mid-Feb. We will be staying with my parents primarily but are hoping to get away for a night or two by ourselves.

Can anyone suggest a mid-priced (about $200/night), semi-romantic hotel within 1-2 hours from the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale/Aventura area? We don't mind driving, but don't want to be too far away.

Melissa - If you're looking for the South Beach scene, there are a ton of hotels there - the National, Delano ($$$), Shore Club, Fountainblue ($$$). A hop, skip and a throw from Aventura is Bal Harbour, where there is the Sheraton Bal Harbor, and a smaller, more quaint hotel called the Sea View (I have done some events there and stayed there, it is very nice). Both are on the beach. In an area called Hollywood (outside of Fort Lauderdale), there is the new Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. Maybe not "romantic" per se, but a lot of fun. They have this great outdoor area with tons of restaurants, shopping, bars and clubs. And the rooms there are so nice! I seriously was trying to think of a way to pack the pillow in my suitcase ;). I hear that their prices are going up though, so don't know if it's in your $200 range. In Fort Lauderdale, there is Hyatt Pier 66 and Fort Lauderdale Harbor Beach Marriott Resort. Up in Boca Raton, there is the Boca Resort, but you'll pay a lot for that.

Melissa - Glad I could help. I think you'll like the Sea View, it's a nice hotel. Their staff is very accomodating, they have a nice restaurant, right on the beach...hehe, and there is fabulous shopping practically across the street at the Bal Harbour shops, although ultra-pricey places - Neiman Marcus, Tiffany, Dolce & Gabbana, Prada ;). If you have any more questions about the area, feel free to ask or PM me. I used to work in both Bal Harbour and Aventura :)
