Anyone live in the Hudson Valley, NY?

I live in Garrison (just north of Peekskill) and I work and used to live in NYC, so most of my friends are in the city. Wondering if there's anyone who lives up by me - Northern Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess counties?

Kingdo Danbury doesn't seem that far away to me. We used to live just off I-84. DH just went to Danbury Mall last night!

Small world I live right across the river from Garrison. We just moved to the area this summer. So far we love it.

Does anyone know of a good whole foods/health food store? I have been to Trader Joes in Scarsdale but that is a bit far for day to day. Also good furniture stores esp outlets? I have been to a ton in Middletown but I know there have to be better ones out there. I am very traditional/classic when it comes to furniture.

I miss living in the Hudson Valley so much! I used to teach in Columbia County - Germantown to be exact (near Hudson), and lived in Espous (a small town just outside Kingston). DH's family all live in LaGrange, Poughkeepsie, Wappingers Falls, and Nyack.

(we currently live in Oregon - it just isn't the same!!!)

I don't know if you ladies are going to be as excited as I was about this, but both Q92.1 and 97.7 are both playing continuous Christmas music. Christmas music is the best mood lifter out there for me, so I hope you enjoy this discovery as much as I did!

My Dh just started a new job as a project manager. A boss 3 levels up is flying in to meet us (the company has offered me a job as well) and take us to dinner. Everyone that knows this women says this will be a tough dinner and to make sure we find a great place. The problem is there is no where nice where we are (West Point/Highland Falls). Any recommendations? People have suggesting Cold Springs. She will be staying in Fort Montgomery or the Thayer. We are relatively new here so I would love some help!

What is everyone planning to do for the fall out and about in the hudson Valley I know we have lots to do.

The first thing we will do is go apple picking at Barton Orchards.
