I'm an ok sew-er. I can make curtains, fix buttons and tears. etc. I HAVE made a few articles of clothing but I'm by no means a seamstress.
I bought this dress recently:

here's the problem... I have NO chest. therefore that halter is WAY too big.
so I'm wondering, in order ot make it fit do i have to remove the satin collar completely, redo it smaller and sew it back on or could I just "cheat" and cut he halter in the back, shorten it and sew it back together again?
Or should I save myself the trouble and take it to have it fixed.
I'm DYING to wear this dress, my birthday is next week and I would like it fixed by then.
thanks

I'm not a master sewer either but, I would think you could cut the halter at the very back of the neck and shorten it there.

Or, could you possibly take darts in the chest area? This might look natural and be the least amount of work.

Let us know what you decide to do.

you could get some of those fake boobs and not do any sewing... (i meant the kind in the lingere dept not the kind the model has :p )

I'm definitely not a seamstress either, but I would cut the halter in the back and shorten it as needed.

Good luck. Be sure to post the finished design.
