Thanks. :) I got it at Dillards and they accidentally overcharged me by $50 for it. I was like, "Hmmmm, I know I am spending a little more than I wanted to, but that's ridiculous!" LOL

ETA: For SO's birthday the office staff (he owns the company and I help him from time to time-I used to work full-time for him, ya'all wanted to know that, right? LOL) was trying to figure out what to get him. I know he wanted nice luggage so we got him a really nice garment bag from Tumi. I supplemented that with some gifts including a gift certificate to Tumi so he could get another piece of luggage to go with it. Well, being the sweetheart he is, he got me matching luggage. I love it!

History :D I got my masters in Modern Euro 2 years ago, and ever since then, my Dad has been pushing me to go back for the PhD so I can teach...and I've seriously thought about it because I love (okay, am happiest when I am doing) research and talking about history (hit or miss for dinner conversations :p ...I'm serious dork about that sort of thing)...but I'm not sure. I've thought about journalism, too -- I used to write for our paper in college...I'm basically having a slightly delayed form of the quarter-life crisis where several things sound good and I alternate between the ones I freak out about on a daily basis...eh, all I know is I need to change jobs and careers, so the overthinking of my life has begun.

Do you like teaching at the university level?

Yes, I love teaching at university level--I don't think I could teach any other level. I am an adjunct, not a full professor, though--I teach one or two nights a week (this semester only one). I only have my master's, but journalism is vocational as opposed to academic. Feel free to PM me if you have questions about this!

you should run a few searches in your size! the taller boots were more than i usually spend on ebay, but they were just so darn perfect, that i got a little carried away. still, MUCH cheaper than buying boots in a store!

I have been searching for comfy, trendy, casual sneakers for a long time and I am thrilled with the ones I found yesterday:

They are actually Birkenstocks! They have a footbed in them that mold to your foot and so far they are one of the most comfortable pair of shoes I've ever owned. I think I'll be wearing these often! (I'm a student so these fit in quite well with my casual lifestyle these days.)

Just got these boots in the mail that I bought on eBay. They are J.Crew, black leather knee high boots and OMG, they are SO comfy! I bought some of those a while back to wear under my "little black dress." Ugh, the thing was so irritating that I never even wore it out of the apartment. Even though I got the biggest size they had (I'm normally a large C), the cups wouldnt entirely cover me; it made me look like I had lumpy boobs or something. Not attractive. :rolleyes: Plus, it didnt actually hold me up (if anything it wighted them down!), so all I got were sagging, lumpy boobs. I just go commando now. Sure I run the risk of a little nippage, but the bodice is tight enough that it holds the girls up and I'm comfortable with that.

Here's my report back: my dress was gathered chiffon in the chest & was one shoulder. The reason I bought these rather than just wearing a strapless bra was because there was a slit in the middle to show off cleavage (well if I had bigger boobs, it would've shown off cleavage, but whatever, no time for a boob job before the ball :p ) I thought I would get these things because the strapless bra would have shown through the slit.

As am_81 said, they offer NO support. Support, however wasn't really an issue for me b/c I"m a 34B and the dress actually had cups sewn in. I just wanted them for a little more cleavage. As you can tell from the pic there's a little clasp which can give you cleavage, but I didn't clasp it because it would've shown through the slit. So I really just wore them as a little extra padding I guess. As I said, my dress was gathered, so you couldn't tell I was wearing them, but they probably would have appeared bumpy if I was wearing something else.

Wow - that's a long review for two squishy booby thingys that look like chicken cutlets! ;)

Jeans question? How do sizes run for Paper Denim and Cloth jeans? Every store 'i go to is ither out of them or they only have a 27 waist available. Was thinking of ordering some, but wanted to get feedback on the fit. Thoughts?

For me, they run very true to size. I wear the exact same size in PDC as I do in Sevens. My only complaint with them is that they stretch out way to quickly (i.e., droopy butt).

Yes, BUT I live in a seasonal climate, so I have to have shoes and clothes for every type of weather condition.

I have been looking for a while for a pair of vintage gold pumps on ebay. I have this fetish for vintage gold shoes, but don't have a pair of pumps--I've had a hard time finding a pair that is just "so" (if you know what I mean). Anyway, I finally found these and was so excited...

i'm not a fan of reserve auctions, but if there is something i *really* like i will just email the person and ask them what the reserve is. usually they will tell you (it is not against the rules in any way). sometimes it saves me the effort of waiting the auction out!

Bought jeans at Bananna Republic yesterday afternoon. These are the first pair of jeans that I've bought from that brand and I must say, they fit GREAT. Another plus is that the BR store I visited yesterday had an entire section of PETITE clothing so the jeans are the perfect length. Love 'em! Ok, question for those of you that buy clothes on eBay an online: how do you know that these clothes will fit? I would LOVE to be able to shop online for clothes and do occasionally when I've bought a certain size of a certain brand in a store before and know that it fits. But otherwise, I'm too paranoid that it's not going to fit and then it will be a PITA to return. It would be so much more convenient to buy online. I spent a few hours at the mall today and found nothing. It's just so tiring and I'd love to shop more from the comfort of my home. Any advice?

a few things you can do:

1) if not listed in the auction, email the seller and ask for measurements. a lot of people don't do it the traditional way, and instead take flat measurements that you X 2.
so just compare their numbers with a similar item of your own.

2) check the return policy. quite a few sellers take returns within 7-10 days.

3) if it doesn't fit - re-sell it on ebay! sometimes i've actually made a profit doing this!
