My fear is that wedges are going out of style quickly according to style guides. They'll be in for the winter boots....
Yeah...but it was 82 in San Diego today. Most of us won't be breaking out the winter boots for a while :)

Renee, I saw plenty of wedge pumps and mary janes at Nordstrom and Saks today (including some with leopard!), so I think you'll still be in style for a while on the west coast.

I got this today - I love cashmere, but I love it even more when it's on sale!

I ordered these from Avon in brown. They may not look all that stylish, but boy are they comfy and warm. I'm wearing them right now. :) My mom ordered them in red a couple years ago and now I wish I had gotten them back then.

keiranzma, it's finally getting chilly here, so I'll probably wear them with jeans, brown or green t-shirt/tank and khaki jacket, or a brown v-neck sweater. I think I have a khaki pencil skirt they'd look good with too. I started business school this fall and am constantly having to dress "appropriately" for company presentations and am getting so bored of looking like an Ann Taylor ad every day. Hmmm..I wonder if I could wear these with my brown suit???

I've never bought anything from Victoria Secret (that isn't underwear) but I always manage to find several things on the website that look really cute and very reasonably priced. My concern is that they are good prices because they are cheap clothes. For anyone who has shopped VS online, what do you think of the quality of the clothes? TIA!

Regina, the VS clothes with the Moda label are nice quality. I have a lot of the ribbed turtlenecks, yoga pants, and nicer "going out" type blouses. The sizing is sometimes a little wonky, though. I'll wear an XS in one shirt and an M in another.

Thanks!! I'm so in love with it. Pink is my fav fashion color. This is my 3rd Coach from TJMaxx or Marshall's. The store that I was in yesterday had quite a few Coach and Dooney and Bourke bags. Only a few select stores in the metro Atlanta area may have them, but the one I got yesterday was from a TJMaxx and More at the outlet mall in Charlotte.

Hee Hee!! No problem. I run across them quite regularly, but only in the stores in certain neighborhoods though. So if I'm on the hunt, I know to go to those particular stores. I was very surprised to find that bag in Charlotte. My mom has found a few up in the stores in CT also.

Adaya, it is too funny you posted the new Coach you got because I was in my local TJ Maxx on Sunday and I was astonished to see that same exact Coach purse there! How funny. It was the only coach they had. Like you said, they had a lot of D&Bs.

She was commenting on the jeans I posted on the previous page. I got them from Nordstrom. They are called "Not Your Daughter's Jeans."
Exactly right! Got mine at Nordstrom -- online. Little pricer than I normally spend on jeans but I love them (and have such a hard time normally finding some that fit right). The petites are great in length for me but the good thing is Nordstrom will hem for free if needed. :)

what do you search for to find vintage items on ebay? ie, for your supah cool blouses did you just type in "peasant blouse" or is there another trick. i'm trying to find some vintage dresses for spring summer and using "vintage dress" as a term brings up WAY too many items but i'm not sure how to narrow it down. It varies--sometimes I do just type in "peasant blouse" or whatnot. I look for things that inspire me in magazines, then search by characteristics. I do so much searching on Ebay that I seriously don't even know how I find things anymore...seriously! Half the time I just stumble across things.

Ordered them from Piperlime. They fit in the toe area, but my heel slides up and down. I already put a heel softie thing in there, but my heel still slides up and down when I walk. Any suggestions for helping these babies fit me?

Get some of those moleskin pads. They make ones for under the heel and ones to wrap around the back of the shoe (where your Achilles tendon is). They have enough grip that they should cling to hose or trouser socks. I'm not sure if they would work sockless.

kari, I had the same problem with some shoes I just bought and I got a good rec from the someone here on CC. Foot Petals (http://www.footpetals.com/cgi-bin/footpetals/index.html) makes some really good products. I purchased Heavenly Heelz and Haute Heelz and my shoes fit much better now. They come in really cool colors too!

eta: I did a search on that website to see what local store carried them and I found one really close to my house.

Let me ask you ladies a question.

If I were to wear grey trousers, navy blue top, and silver jewelry. What color shoes would you wear. I have navy blue peep toe steve madden shoes but they don't look great with my pants for some reason. I also sometimes put a 3/4 sleep sweater on top of the navy blue and its usually green. I have been wearing my green shoulder bag lately? I have tried it with both brown shoes and black but wonder what you would wear it with?

Depending on the style of the shoe (I'd have to see it)--you could possibly try putting opaque, colored tights on under your pants. With a navy top, gray pants, and silver shoes...you could play it classic with navy or gray tights. Or you could experiment with purple, fuschia, mulberry, or burgundy.

The second dress I need some advice...
I ordered it to wear to a work function. I work for a university, and this is a student sponsored banquet. It is in the evening at a nice hotel.

I am trying to figure out how to Jazz this up! The dress is wool, and formfitting. What shoes, bag and accessories should I rock? I think the attire is kinda dressy, students will be in nice dresses, maybe semi-formal, guys in suits? I have some AWESOME LBD's in my closet, but most are backless or halters, and I really don't need the dean of my law school seeing my huge black angel tatoo on my back. So, what should I get. I LOVE, fabulous, funky EXPENSIVE shoes, LOL. Show me whatcha got! *cough* Wendalah *cough*

LOVES it!!! Unfortunately, I am too, er...stout to do the leggings/dress combo. :( I will probably do bare legs and stilettos. Any ideas???

Before you dismiss the footless tights outta pocket, just promise me you'll try them...it's a very slimming look! I actually just converted my middle sister (who insists she has "fat legs" and resisted for the longest time). :)

The ones with the bands at the bottom are Spanx and therefore have the added value of holding everything in.

I ordered a microfiber leggins from http://welovecolors.com/. I received in 2 days! I got mine in white; it's a little sheer and has the band at the botton, too. can't wait for the weather to warm up!

Another vote for the leggings look. I'm not a tall, nor slim person by any means. I thought I couldn't pull it off, but it looks fab on me. Very slimming. It's getting me through this 20 degree weather.

I bought these at Gap today and I LOVE them. I had to get some khaki pants for my new job and to be honest, I didn't own any for a reason. I have never had luck with khaki pants. They always look so funny and blah.

But not these pants! They are fabulous. I got a light pair and a darker one. Plus, they come in black!

imagirliegirl, do those pants wrinkle easily? That is my only problem with Gap and BR kakhis and cotton work pants. Let us know - if they don't wrinkle easily, I'm definitely getting them!

imagirliegirl i tried the khaki and striped sailor pants on at the store and loved them but i really only needed black. i checked online afterwards but they only had the same colors as the store. so i have to thank you for giving us the heads up that they are now available in black... i ordered as soon as i saw your post! (and hopefully when they go on sale, i'm getting the striped ones as well)
