Cute shorts from ON! I don't usually shop there, but I might have to check it out! Were they a good price?
rachrich ~ I love my new skirt. :) It is a bit, oh, flouncier (is that the right word?) than most jean skirts. A bit more material at the bottom but I love the dark wash and the way the top hugs me. I think the lines on it are flattering.
KK812 ~ I lied, I don't think those shorts were actually on sale (the Kohl's stuff was), but I have such a hard time finding shorts that remotely fit me well these days that I went for them anyways. I believe they were $17.50 each. (The last pair - the long Bermuda shorts were $26.50. I don't usually shop at Old Navy either. I find their more dressy clothes to be not very well made and have fallen apart on me in the past. But I love Old Navy for accessories and kick around/casual clothes.

Ladies I am in search of the perfect jean... It always seems as though I get the gap in the back or I keep having to pull up my jeans soo does anyone have any suggestions?
I just found jeans I am in LOVE with! I went out in search with zero limit on price, and came home happily with:
DKNY Soho Jeans $59
http://slimages.macys.com/is/image/MCY/products/0/optimized/182630_fpx.tif?bgc=255,255,255&wid=273&qlt=90,0&layer=comp&op_sharpen=0&resMode=bicub&op_usm=0.7,1.0,0.5,0&fmt=jpeg
Now, the model is likely about 12 and doesn't even know what hips or booty are, but I can tell you this:
I am tall and curvy. I test jeans by squatting in them to check for Crack Attack - I have to get down like that to pick up my son, and don't like people seeing my bum. I don't want too-high-mumsy waistlines or too-low-in-need-of-a-bikini-wax waistlines.
These jeans have a little stretch, keep their shape (you can wear them a few times before washing again and they don't look worn), fit comfortably in the waist, hip & thigh but go almost into a boot cut that makes your thigh look slimmer and leg longer. They also come in petite, regular and tall lengths and a couple rinse colors.
Love love love these jeans!! Literally, I had a pair of Bugle Boys jeans in maybe 8th grade that I loved, but since then (ahem, a decade or two) I have never found another pair that just fit so right. Give them a try! I know Macy's carries them.

Seriously, all snarkie aside. As has been mentioned on this thread before, fashion is a hobby of mine, nothing more, nothing less. I probably spend as much money on it as someone who spends money on another involved hobby(golf or sailing or car restoration or whatever). I have fun with it and I enjoy sharing it on here. I hope others may get inspired by my finds. If people think I'm materialistic, I don't care; I know that I'm the one salivating when I pass by a Salvation Army ;).

Some things you've bought I could never picture myself in, but for me it's more about the sense of confidence and "vision" of how you shop that I envy, rather than wanting to copy specific pieces.

I could start a whole thread depicting odd mannequins on eBay. I suspect the sellers get a little bored here and there and this is their way of jazzing work up. :p
On the "new clothing" tip--there's a great sale at shopbop.com going on right now. For you Juicy fans, they have a bunch of the terry 30% off. And check out the 70% section, there's some awesome things (that I don't know about you, but I could personally never stomach paying full price for!).

wendalah: I love everything you purchase from Ebay! You're truly inspiring in terms of finding amazing vintage things on there. You should seriously think about becoming a stylist or opening up your own vintage shop!
*Okay, I'm done gushing* sorry. :o
Since I'm about 6 months pregnant, I don't have many fun shopping experiences these days but I did buy a few things recently that I absolutely love and that can be worn after pregnancy from a UK online store called Plumo, http://www.plumo.com:

Picked a few things the other day...some I can't find pics of online:
A couple of tops from Cache', this is the only one I could find online:

Coated linen crop pant with gold hardware and flap back pockets:

Corset from Victoria's Secret:

Short sheer robe from Frederick's of Hollywood, similar to this one:
http://www.fredericks.com/images/4/43563_86_itm_a_5600.jpg
I also got a couple of Kimono tops from VS. They can be worn two ways. I am going to have the sleeves cut down. And lastly, a dress I saw in Marie Claire Magazine that can be worn several different ways (even as a shirt.) I'm taking that to Europe-anything to save packing room!

Thanks for the heads up, meatpie!
Cr8nme: Yes, they do! You should definitely check out their website. You can order one of their free catalogs too.
gokatgo: Well, a lot of the online UK stores I've bought things from do ship to the U.S. Am I a bad influence or what? ;) I think I need to arrange for a UK shopping trip though. There are so many amazing houseware stores and boutiques.
prudies: great ebay finds! I love the red color on the Katayone Adeli top. Gorgeous
MMH: I'm not a mom yet but I do 'look' younger than I am because I wear more trendy pieces (like the jeans that you posted) and I guess just have a young face. One thing I think that helps is wearing more structured top with trendier jeans like a funky/cool jacket (I love Nanette Lepore and Marc Jacobs jackets) or a kimono top that looks expensive and maybe nicer flat shoes (for when you're running errands with the baby)instead of flip flops or tennis shoes. It'll definitely be interesting to see how people react to me after I have a baby and still look like I'm in my early 20s.
Thanks lilo!
Yes, it's interesting to see what outfits I throw together these day. I live in Idaho so it's not the trendiest place around, but if I feel gross if I don't at least try to pull myself together! I love to buy nice clothes but have found that baby barf is really hard to get out. I've been sporting a lot of Old Navy duds these days, I don't feel so bad when they get peed/pooped/barfed on!

smilewithme -Those jeans are too cute, and look great with the boots. Penney's is one of my favoite places to shop. They have the $2.77 racks at the end of the season which are awesome! I got camel worthington dress pants for that price one time at the end of the season several years ago.
Their A.N.A (a new approach) and Nicole Miller(i thnk that's that right last name) lines are perfect for those like us too old for juniors and not wanting "old lady" clothes. And of course the Worthington line is great for career wear.

I would say that the annoying and wonderful part of the shirt is that it's cotton (it breathes, dear heavens a going-out shirt thta breathes!) but it also rolls, down from the top, and up from the bottom of the shirt.

Lapis Jacket (bad photo, really cool jacket)

:)
skraus - cute jacket, but i would still freeze my bum off in that jacket in the winter. i get cold easily so i wear a long, down winter coat all winter, but your pink coat is much more stylish.

A few ebay purchases...
I'm hoping this dress will work into fall with a turtleneck or black shirt underneath. I'll have to pin those summery side tie things, but that should be doable. Hopefully.

I'm envisioning wearing this out on the town over jeans, but maybe I'm high. Will it work? If not, eh, it's a cute robe. And what mother of a 2 year old doesn't prance around the house in a shorty robe?

I ordered this shirt online the other day from JLO (don't know why I am on a Jlo kick) so I was thinking of wearing them together, with some new Honey Joe's Jeans. I'll have to wait and see if it looks OK when they get here, but in in my head they look good. :)

Also, I'm thinking about these, in both brown and black (they are from VS and there's a sale, 2 for $88). I have a feeling platforms are going to have a pretty short shelf life so I might as well not blow a bundle on them.

Anyone else have an opinion on these shoes?

Renee34 I love them! I like the shape of the shoe- and I am a huge fan of wearing a print on a shoe with a solid ensemble! I would do a camel pant, paired with a really great camel turtleneck, and that shoe. I would probably carry a red purse that day. I think they are super cute.
My winter go-to uniform for movies or other casual events- is a great pair of jeans and a great black top- I can totally see wearing those shoes with my uniform to spice it up.
FWIW- I have a pair of Emanuel Ungaro shoes from years ago- in a cream snakeskin- and I wear them all the time for the same effect.

Me too!!! I am also not a big fan of animal print in general, but I love crazy, colorful shoes as an accent to an otherwise plain outfit. I'd wear them with dark jeans and a brown or camel top.

My fear is that wedges are going out of style quickly according to style guides. They'll be in for the winter boots, but most likely start being phased out in the Spring.
I like bright and fun patterned shoes too, but these in particular I'm not a fan of. Don't mean to offend Renne! Love how you are asking opinions...but of course, go with what you love, not what we all do.

Renee - even if you don't usually wear animal print (and I can't say that I own any), I think those shoes are a great way to work some animal print into your wardrobe. I think they'd be cute with a denim pencil skirt & red cardigan.
NTM, I don't see the wedge turning into a fashion faux pas any time soon, so I think you're safe there.
eta: I don't know how old you are, so this may not be a concern (and it may not be a concern because whatever floats your boat), but the stacked wood heel to me makes the shoe seem young. I would probably opt for something like these:

Def. not a faux pas, but wearing thin in the fashion arena. Designers for next year are moving on and not creating tons more wedges.

Whatever. If you like them, wear them.
