I bled a little around the time I would have gotten my period. Nothing heavy or serious. It went on periodically for about 3 days then stopped. Now 3-4 days have passed and suddenly it's back. It looks like the normal start of a period. It's very light in color and the bleeding itself is very light.

Can bleeding stop then start again?

I know I should go to the doctor but I can't til next week so I'm trying to be strong til then. :(

I'm not following, are you not supposed to have it? Are you pregnant? Sometimes women have spotting here/there during the first months, but yes you should see your DR or at least call. I can't be 100%, but I'd say that it's a good sign that it's light(color/flow).

Hoping for the best!

You're about fiveish weeks pregnant, right? Absolutely, bleeding can stop and then start again. And stop and start. And stop again. And start.

I bled (not spotted) on and off from week 6 until week 23, and my DD is two months old now, and praise God, perfectly healthy.

I won't lie to you - of course it's better not to have bleeding in pregnancy than to have it. People will say it's "normal", what they really mean is it's "common", which it certainly is - and half of all women with bleeding go on to have normal, healthy term babies.

I know how hard it is not to worry, and the only thing that will make that worry better is time, and then you'll find new things to worry about. That's pregnancy. Then the baby's born, and the worrying doesn't stop then either. :)

Wishing you the best! Keep us posted?

I hope this makes you feel a little better, but I had light bleeding from weeks 5-8 of my pregnancy and I went on to have a happy, healthy baby.

My bleeding first started like when I would have gotten my period and when I called my Dr they told me that is fairly common to have bleeding when you would have had your period. Then a few days later it stopped and then a few days after that it started up again so i called the Dr again and they had me come in for an US and everything looked fine.

So I guess the moral is that it is VERY unnerving to be bleeding but as long as you and your Dr are monitoring it and they are not concerned, there really isn't anything they can do.

Thanks ladies. It's always nice to hear actual people that have had it and turned out okay. It actually only happened for a little bit last night then stopped again, go figure. The doctor says everything looks okay right now though so I'll stop worrying myself to craziness.

I'm glad that you were able to see your doctor, and that he/she seems to feel that things are okay. That's reassuring.

When I was still very early into my current pregnancy, I experienced very heavy bleeding, and rushed to the hospital thinking I was miscarrying. Fortunately, I was not, and I am now at 7 months plus. Just goes to show you how unpredictable and what a mystery pregnancy can be! :)

Good luck!

I am almost 9 weeks along and it seems like I have some kind of bleeding every other week. It is very nervewracking, but I have had 3 ultrasounds and everything is progressing and looks great! Maybe they will give you an ultrasound in another week so you can see the heartbeat and be more reassured. :)

I had a TON of bleeding early on and went to the doctor's each time... I practically lived there! I ended up having a low lying placenta that moved about week 15 or so. I also had a blood pool that was finally absorbed. Now she's healthy and measuring right on track... let us know what the doctor says :)
