Thought this might help people purchase gifts for others...
What was your favorite wedding gift worth about $100?
Favorite gift worth about $50?
Favorite gift worth any amount?
Mine are: high thread count sheets for about $100. Awesome. We didn't know what we were missing and have really appreciated these.
Worth about $50--Artwork. Kind of a creative idea and nice to have something new to hang on the wall that was "ours."
Favorite gift worth any amount: Photo album of my childhood through adulthood with funny quotes and photos collected from all of my friends--my best friend gave it to me at my bachelorette. Perfect timing--perfect gift.

Favorite gift around $100 -- Our everyday flatware set. We had been using the mish-mash of cheap flatware accumulated over the years and accidentally exchanged with various roommates. We are SO excited to be using nice, heavy, matching flatware every day. :D
Favorite around $50 -- Hands down, new towel set. We had been using towels that over the years has become scratchy and faded. Now, it is a JOY to come out of the shower. Funny thing, we didn't expect anyone to get us towels as a wedding gift. But I guess I made a comment after receiving some for my bridal shower about how much I loved them, and suddenly our towel registry was complete!
Favorite any amount -- Hmmm... we got a gorgeous hand-made mirror from Mexico, but it doesn't go in any of the rooms of our current house. We're going to have to build a room around it in the new house. So in the meantime, we LOVE this:

From Williams-Sonoma. DH and I are not big cake-eaters, so the reason we love this is that if you turn the dome and pedetal upside down, it becomes a huge serving bowl, perfect for punch, salads, etc. With our tiny kitchen, multi-purpose is wonderful!

Favourite cheap one... popcorn maker :D can you tell we love movies?
Ok and to be honest... $$ was much appreciated, too.

DeLonghi indoor grill - this is awesome since we live in an apartment and can't grill outside!

Probably our coffee grinder, which we use every single day.

I have a tie for this - a friend of mine lives in Bangkok and he gave us a gorgeous silk chenille queen sized blanket from the Jim Thompson silk store.
Also, we got married in Scotland in the town where my husband worked after college - he worked in a B&B. The owner of the B&B gave us a set of two framed antique engravings of the area in Scotland where we were married.

favorite gift around $100---george foreman grill---so many quick and yummy meals on this thing!
best around $50--our amazingly soft towels--what a great way to start the day!
best any amount--definitely the most creative gift we got was a couple of our high school friends who got together and got us a ceramic mail-holder that had our married name painted on it as well as the location of our new apt (a totally new city for me). inside the mail holder was a gift certificate for a local movie theater, a gift certificate for a really nice restaurant here, and a gift certificate for the symphony orchestra. also, they each wrote us a letter to put in our letter-holder and each included pics from high school to now.
also a new pair of diamond studs that two of my older brothers/sisters-in-law bought me! :)

What was your favorite wedding gift worth about $100?
--I think we only got cash at this level.
Favorite gift worth about $50?
--Probably the baking dishes I got. They were actually only around $25 but I use them pretty much every day.

--I love two homemade ones. A friend who does iron work made me a candelabra. It is not great quality because he is still learning but the time he put in makes it a fav. We also got a wooden serving tray from DH cousin. It is too heavy to use. She wrote about where each piece of wood came from, like the main tray is from the bench where they used to sit in time out.
--I loved the cash. We paid for our wedding our selves. The cash helped make the honeymoon a little more carefree.
