I cannot find this mag for the life of me! It's sold out everywhere. I usually buy it at the grocery store or Barnes and Noble but I can't find it at either of those places. AND...my mom lives in Colorado (I live in Texas) and she actually called me yesterday to see if I had it because SHE can't find it anywhere either -- and she's looked at like 8 different places. It is out now, isn't it? I saw it on an airplane last week but did not pick it up, thinking I'd buy it later.

Is anyone else having this problem? I find it mildly amusing that seemingly so many people are interested in this (the Brad/Angelina/Jennifer thing.)

I think the full article is posted in the Jen/Brad/Angelina thread if you're interested.

Yeah, I was pretty sure I could find it online. I was just wondering if anyone else was having trouble finding it.

Plus I like the magazine. I should just get a subscription.

I got a copy of it at Target about a week ago and there were quite a few on the rack still.

My dad always passes me on his copies of VF (in exchange i pass him on our copies of WIRED). But i threw it away already. I know i've seen it at grocery store checkouts around here though, i didn't get the idea that it had sold out. Hope you find it!

I haven't been able to find it either. Although I haven't looked farther than the grocery or drug store. I am too lazy to drive to Target/Borders for just a magazine, because it's horrible traffic.

I subscribe to VF; I highly recommend the magazine as whole.

Delta, I think you'd like it, if the blatantly liberally-biased articles didn't piss you off too much. ;)

I also subscribe to Vanity Fair. It is a great subscription!

I can't remember where I read this, but I read somewhere that in some cities (such as New York), copies of VF's September issue are flying off of the newstands supposedly due to Domminick Dunne's article about a billionaire's death. The billionaire's widow was upset with the story and rumor has it a well dressed woman was going around Manhattan purchasing all the VF's on the newstands.

I may have read this in the NY Post or another gossip column.

I had this problem and still can't find the d*mn magazine - I looked in EVERY store in my area - sold out. I had DH look in every store where he works - SOLD OUT. I finally had my mom copy at the library - she works there. Insane.

No wonder no one can find the Vanity Fair with Jennifer Aniston on the cover!

Jennifer Aniston’s Vanity Fair front cover proved the magazine’s best selling issue of all time.

The much-publicised September issue, featuring the Friends actress posing provocatively in a white shirt, sold more than 650,000 copies in the US.

Aniston poured her heart out in the article, tearfully speaking about her break-up with Brad Pitt and his relationship with Angelina Jolie.

The sales beat Carolyn Bessette Kennedy’s posthumous September 1999 cover which sold 640,816. She died alongside her husband, John F Kennedy Jnr, in a plane crash in the Atlantic in July 1999.

Beth Kseniak, Vanity Fair spokeswoman, said the best-selling issues tended to capture the public mood and focus on people who had generated a lot of attention.

“We knew (the Aniston cover) would be a big seller,” she said. “People seem to be fascinated with her and Pitt and Jolie.

“It was also Jennifer’s first and only interview so if they wanted to read it they had to go out and buy it.”

Average monthly sales are generally in the region of between 390,000 and 400,000.

The Aniston issue had originally been due to be published in October but was brought forward due to fears of leaks.
