My friend's little brother just got engaged and so the planning is underway! I knew I could probably get some pictures of candlelit weddings here. Does anyone have pictures or know where to find some examples? Did YOU have a wedding by candlelight? I really appreciate the help! :)

My ceremony was by candlelight.

These were taken while setting up a couple days before hand. I had a Christmas wedding, and we decorated with evergreen boughs, candles, and potted poinsettias

We had candles on the alter, along the rails on the sides, and in all the windows all the way around the room. We also had the two candelabras out, and I hung small candle-lanterns down the side aisles by shepard's hooks

During the ceremony, we had a candle lighting service that stemmed off of our unity candle

WOW it's hard to believe I started this thread almost two years ago!

I'll see if I can find pictures of my friend's brother's wedding. :D

Here are some others in the meantime:

Just an fyi

from a photography stand point they are REALLY hard to shoot. the camera needs to focus. if it can't focus, you run the risk of missing shots because the photographer was trying to get the camera to "see" what it was focusing on. Either that, or he/she brings big room lights to help him.

devils advocate.

agree with lilangel...candelight weddings are a photographers nightmare. If you care about decent photos, don't do it.

Both my ceremony and reception were completely lit by candles (and some white christmas lights at the ceremony). I loved my pics and think my photographer did an amazing job!

agreeing with a previous poster - as a photographer, candlelit ceremonies ARE challenging. You HAVE to use high ISOs to get anything and some folks don't understand that this means the images WILL be grainy. That said, here are some examples from both my film days and digital stuff...

LOL I posted this thread almost 2.5 years ago and totally forgot about. Friend's brother is since happily married, and celebrated an anniversary too. They didn't do the candlelight. Thanks again to everyone for posting!
