poetry, short stories, scifi, fantasy?
I write on occasion, mostly poetry though I've been working on a short story and a couple of other stories for years now.
I did recently finish a "fairy tale" of sorts though I have yet to edit it, its just a rough copy right now.

I LOVE to write. I write some poetry, and I've written tons of short stories, as well as a couple of other closer to novel length "books." I'm re-writing one currently, and I have ideas for another brewing.

I've pulled one of my old stories out and am trying to work with it because it does have some good parts in it. but its kind of hard starting from the middle and working my way out. Especially since its a story thats been lying around for 10yrs. I hate to scrap the whole thing but I might have to.
I also have a few ideas going on in my head for another short story to tie in with my fairy tale, I want to make it a total of 3 or 4 stories that go together.
Poetrywise I have been at a standstill, well I had been until afew nights ago when I actually wrote something pretty good.

I write poetry. More in HS and college than now. A few years back, I made sure I had it all on a disk and printed out and put into a binder by alphabetical order. In the front, I also have the yearly breakdown of what poems I wrote and when.
I used to write stories in HS, too. I've been working on adding "meat" to one I wrote in 1992. I haven't touched it since 2002, though.
I also keep a Diary. Every night since 1988 (when I was 11).

I have dabbled in writng poetry. However i have not written anything recently since most of the time my words only seem to flow when I am depressed and i can honestly say i have not had any bouts with depression lately .
I have one or two that are not depressing out of what seems like hundreds.
Had a friend challenge me to write soemthing not depressing a year or so agao and well the wrods jsut did not seem to flow as easily for me then but I managed to come up with something and she liked it . As for me well lets jsut say it isn't my typical writting style.
I write short stories but don't share them. It was always a hobby of mine.

I used to write tons - science fiction, poetry, journalling. I even wrote a short musical once. I haven't written a lot since, but recenntly I started a fantasy short story. It's not wholly original - it's a fanfic set in someone else's universe - but it's a start, right?

I love to write. I have this dream of writing and publishing a novel someday. Doubt it will happen, but I've got a couple of half finished manuscripts on the computer. But I'm too embarrassed to let anyone read them!

My work is not that good..you have been warned:
this is the latest poem I wrote about a month ao.
“Tell me all your secrets”, he said
“Tell me the divine,
Give me all you have inside
Give me all your time”.
Love is free for everyone
But not so for me.
“Tell me what you dream about,
Let yourself be free.”
Trusting fool I let go
Giving secret words,
Braving laughter, fighting tears,
Words no one had heard.
“Tell me everything you hide,
Let me have the key.
I’ll stroke your hair and hold your hand
No need to fear me.”
“Give me weapons, give me power
To bend you to my will.
Let me have your soul and blood
Til I have drunk my fill.”
As the nails clawed at my back,
And the blood began to flow
Fool I was and fool I am,
And everything grows cold.
Push away with words and hands.
Get away from me!
Demon! Vampire! Steal my soul,
Held with words I cannot flee.
Words of love and innocence,
Of gross stupidity
Bind me like the thickest chains
And I cannot get free.
“Tell me all your wishes love,
Tell me what you are.
I will tell you all I am
If you give me that power”
Eyes of blue that pin me down
Azure swords of pain
Tears they fall and fall again
Like freezing winter rain
Eyes of blue and hair of gold
Heart of blackest jet
I will not give my soul to you
You have not beat me yet.

Vorian's Leronica-I think that poem is very good! It has a very good flow and creates a surreal tone that draws you in. I liked it!
I used to write a great deal, but now I only produce a story/poem every now and then. A lot of my writing has to do with my (non-existent) relationship with my father. Its the only way I can find to deal with it.
I wish I could get inspired again! :)

thank you.
like you I only write once in a blue moon. And like you I also write as a release and escape, something to help me "deal", lately I've shifted to painting but its still the same situation, its a release.
the poem I posted above came after i filled a page with nonsensical word associations. then all of a sudden the poem just came to me. Maybe I should try that more often. Not to mention I got quite a laugh out of my bizarre weird word associations.

That's as good a source of inspiration as any, I think! That's why I try to keep journals (an LJ and a paper journal) b/c sometimes that kind of randomness can spark a complete idea for a story or poem.
