Courteney Cox and David Arquette, who met on the set of "Scream" in 1994 and married in 1999, have separated, the actors confirmed Monday in a statement. The two struck a deal for a trial separation, which People reports has been the situation for a while now, to "better understand ourselves and the qualities we need in a partner and for our marriage."

Sources connected with the couple told TMZ, which first reported the split, that the months-old separation finally went public Monday because photos had allegedly surfaced of Arquette with another woman. He was photographed in September minus his wedding ring.

That said, those people also said it isn't a given that Cox, 46, and Arquette, 39, will divorce. They have one daughter, Coco, who's 6."We are comfortable with the boundaries that we have established for each other during this separation and we hope that our friends, family, fans and the media also show us respect, dignity, understanding and love at this time as well," the couple said in their statement.

I agree totally with you on this. I get nailed at work every time I say I don't like her. Everyone seems to think that it's because she's married to my boyfriend (whom I have a shirtless picture of on my desk...but not one of my DH!). It really is just because she bugs me. I don't even like her in movies, and that has been true since long before Ryan; it goes back to back when she was dating Josh Harnett who I couldn't have cared less about.

I like Scarlett. I don't think she's the prettiest young actress out there, but I do think she's one of the classiest. Now, she's a great example of how you can grow up in Hollywood as a child actor and still turn out to be an intelligent, hard-working adult who isn't at the clubs every night and on every tabloid cover. Young starlets, take note.

I agree. I don't find her all that attractive or that amazing of an actress. She's not ugly or anything, but I certainly wouldn't peg her as outstandingly beautiful. I've never quite gotten the appeal. I know people are infatuated with her, but I don't see why. You're not alone.

(And when I say he brushed my hair our of my face I meant as he and his entourage flew by the gust of wind they emitted put me in a wind storm...but I know he went extra fast to emit said wind and be able to gaze into my eyes)

She looked so zened out and peaceful riding that bike. It was strange.

I haven’t watched the show since it became Kate +8, but I tuned in on Monday to watch it after channel surfing. She was such a mega bitch! I can’t believe how much more out of control she was.

The only redeeming part of the show was her nanny walking out on her. Sweet justice. I guess next week is the last epi, and it looks like the nanny comes back on for an interview to dish about how much she can’t stand Kate. If I remember, I’ll watch for that reason, too.

I don't think she's actually had surgery. She's had lip injections, for sure, but otherwise the features seem to be generally the same. She's just lost a crapload of weight and is super gaunt. Her cheeks and chin stick out and her eyes are sunken. Total eating disorder.

Chi - I don't know what's a standard protocol for going through ivf, as far as having certain testing done(ie. mammogram). Yes, her doc. did say, that if she were preg., that the preg. hormones could/would 'accelerate' the cancer. Her Dr. suggested that she have a mammogram done. I don't know if it was the DR. she was seeing in Denver(her RE, that she was seeing for ivf treatment) or another DR.. From what she said, I don't think she wanted to have it done(because she said she wasn't prepared/thought she was 'too young'), but alas, she did & gave in. Good thing!

Nope, definitely not standard practice. Although the clinic she went to in Denver is known for success in tough cases so maybe they have different pre-IVF testing than most clinics.

There was never a question in my mind that the marriage was for anything other than publicity and money. I think it was rather obvious the wedding was for publicity, and I suspect the one feeding the magazines about their "troubled" marriage was none other than that mother. I had forgotten about Kris's book - so basically they stayed together long enough for that monstrosity of a wedding to air (good point about them getting all those freebies - even more disgusting) and now they will divorce just before Kris makes the talk show circuit for her book. Ugh, I am even more annoyed now. She definitely wanted a wedding and not a marriage. I think it's humorous that the only one with any "talent" in that family is the one that isn't a Kardashian (Bruce the olympian - ha!). I too wish they would just go.away.

Even if this was a publicity stunt, I think the plan would have been (I hope) to stay together longer than 72 days. We already see the backlash against Kim Kardashian and the family, and it will hurt their "brand" and reality show empire. They had to know that filing for divorce so quickly, after that wedding extravaganza (and notes of how much they profited from it), would not look good.

But the more I think about it, the more we shouldn't be surprised... they cut their honeymoon short so Kim could come back and film "Kim and Kourtney in NY" (or whatever it's called); Khloe said she'd only met Kris a few times (with how close that family is, I don't think this is a good sign); their entire relationship played out on and was choreographed for reality TV.

McKayla Maroney acted like a brat. If I were her parents I'd be mortified. I understand that she expected gold and thought it was a shoe in, but it was her fault she messed up her landing. Be gracious you got a silver! I didn't watch the men's gymnastics too closely so I don't remember his name, but in one of the individual competitions the US man that was competing was so gracious and was so excited to watch everyone else. He didn't even medal, but he had a great time being supportive of all the other gymnasts even though they were from other countries. He showed true sportsmanship. That to me is what the Olympics is about.

Red's Girl, I mentioned that too. EVERY SINGLE GYMNAST has that extreme ugly ponytail (french braid anyone? Bun? Something interesting?) and I thought that all the way through. Gabby's hair never even entered my mind, it was just one more ugly ponytail. I know that African American girls have a really hard time with their hair and wanting to not stand out (I have a friend whose daughter has nappy hair but it's the most GORGEOUS super-model curly hair naturally, but all she wants to do is have it straightened...which in my opinion looks way worse... so she can "fit in") so it's even more unfortunate that now they have the whole country telling them that even straight their hair isn't OK. What a shame. I hope as my friend's DD gets older (she's 10) that she will see the beauty in her curly hair..and how much easier the upkeep would be.

I think Gabby Douglas is a beautiful young woman. Her smile could light up an entire building. And quite honestly, pretty much anytime the camera caught her (with and without her knowledge), she had a happy and pleasant expression on her face. Her fellow gymnasts all looked like bitchy little pills. There was absolutely nothing at all wrong with her hair and that the so-called "press" felt some overwhelming need to comment on it is just beyond my understanding.

If she got a make-over because SHE wanted it, that's great. But she certainly didn't need it.
