i just got a STEAL on a calvin Klein coat....i had the option of black or brown but went for the brown b/c i feel like everyone wears black..it was $215 originally and i got it for $120. anyway,..i get home and realize, i have black leather gloves and black uggs. DH is tellling me that i can't accessorize in black if i have brown coat..i'm like 'who cares'..i chose the brown to change it up a bit..what do you think??

i could care less wearing black with brown but i wanted an opinion...(plus i'm lazy to go exchange and wanted the brown for a change of pace!)
ask for brown leather gloves and boots for the holidays??

You can certainly mix black and brown if it is the right shade of brown.

If you rally want to change it up, I'd ask for gloves/scarf in a print that brought in both brown and black and then not worry about the Uggs (unless you'd like a second pair, then I'd go for the chocolate color which are nice anyhow...)

I think the boots are fine, but I might ask for brown gloves for the holidays. I don't think it's necessary, though, if you like the gloves you have. I typically wear colored gloves that match my scarf and coordinate w/ my jacket moreso than match anyway.

oh, thanks for the ideas..maybe i'll search for a printed scarf like you suggested that pulls the black from my gloves in together with the choc. brown coat!

I love color, so with a brown coat, I might choose a rust colored scarf and orange leather gloves, or a pale blue scarf with turquoise leather gloves. I have found that TJ Maxx has a great selection of brightly colored and inexpesive options, so I would wear my coat in one day and play around to see what I liked.

As for the boots, I don't think it matters too much if they are black. You wouldn't change your pants just because they don't match your coat, so I think they're fine in black.
