I am in a major time crunch and trying to do as much research as possible. Here's my situation:

We are in Houston, and due to some last minute changes at dh's work (his boss quit, leaving a directorship open as well as a special project that needs leadership) we might need to move to Dallas for him to run an office closedown/relocation for the next 9 months.

Problem is, we have a 3rd grader, and school starts in 2 weeks. So while we're still waiting to hear if he gets both the promotion AND an acceptable package for taking on the transition, I need to be prepared to move the family -- I need to find rental homes in decent school districts and be able to get in so that she can start school with everyone else.

Help me with whatever you can, regarding areas & schools you'd recommend, etc. to help me narrow my search -- I know the office is near DFW airport so we'd like to focus on Coppell, Corinth, Lewisville, Flower Mound, Valley Ranch... (we've both lived there, but never when kids/schools made a difference!)

Thank you so much -- I'm rapidly becoming a wreck trying to figure out everything I need to do to make this happen, should I get word that they've hammered out a deal.

How are things going with your possible move? I just now noticed your thread or I would have popped in here sooner!

Oh man, I'm sorry I missed this post as well!
Did you make the move?
My suggestions would be Coppell and Flower Mound for schools.

If you are up here or are planning on moving, let me know if you have any other questions! :)

Hey...sorry for the late post. If your husband could handle the drive to Dallas, then you should check out the Keller area. Affordable homes, lots for rent, and the schools are great. Good luck!
