Anyone else's SD card do this?

I took pictures on my digital camera. I know that they are there because they come up on the screen on the camera. I want to put them on the computer so I put the SD card in the card reader on my laptop. The freaking POS laptop won't recognise the SD card!!

No happy little F drive appearing. No pretty little green "eject portable storage device" icon on my toolbar. Nothing. It read the SD card fine earlier today, why not now? I'm super careful with the cards because one gave up on me earlier this month (after only 1.5 years).

I'd just use the cable, but I stupidly left it at my parent's house since my laptop has a card reader and their computer doesn't.

Sometimes that just happens with laptops, in my experience, such as when you put a CD in or something. They can be touchy. I'd just restart the laptop and see if you can eject the card, then see if you can get the computer to recognize the card. If it has before, no reason it shouldn't again. It sucks, but just try to be patient. :)
