We have good friends who are getting married tomorrow night, and we have yet to get them a gift.

They are registered at Bed Bath and Beyond, which is where I got their shower gift. For our wedding a few months ago, they gave us a pretty substantial monetary gift, and we'd like to reciprocate (not that we feel that we need to).

Would it be better to give them a check, get them gifts off their registry, or a little of both?

They just moved into a new home last month and are remodeling it. I checked out their registry, and open items are towels, kitchen canisters and misc. kitchen items, and artwork.

JMHO, but I think that cash is always the way to go for a wedding present; the couple are going to have enough on their hands that day, and cash is easier to transport (plus they can use it on their honeymoon)!

I like to hold onto registries for holiday and birthday gifts!

$$ is great, because like others have said, they can use it for the honeymoon! And again, less to transport :)

We generally give cash... or a group of us go together to get something BIG off the registry.

With cash, the couple has the decision to use it to purchase off their registry after the wedding, use it on the honeymoon or put it into savings.

I would also say to go with cash. I think it is easier for everyone involved!

I like to give a gift from the registry for the shower and cash for the wedding. :)

I'd give them the cash, because after the wedding, they'll be able to get a discount on the items that they didn't get from their registry. The money will go farther!! :)

We ended up giving them cash :) They are going to the same place we did for their HM (Jamaica), and I know we liked having the cash so that we could do things we may not have done with our own money.

Thanks everyone!

Poll is over but my vote is always cash for a wedding gift. It's customary where I'm from.
