Charting Our Course to the BFPs
http://www.ripleysorlando.com/images2/fertilitystatues.jpg
The fertility statues are known to work for some who rub them around the time of possible conception.
It is said that the baby is the most potent part of the statue.
So rub away! :D It's worth a shot!
Who we are:
This is a group of women using charting (temperatures, CM, CP, OPK/FM results, or a combination of these) to try to conceive and, along the way, are learning a heckuvalot about their own bodies! Many of us use a software program to keep track of our charts as well as allowing us to share them with each other. The most common ones are FertitlityFriend.com and Ovusoft.com.
Your threadmistress for this thread is Baby Lust!
If you have any questions, comments or suggestions, feel free to email me! (charting_is_knowledge@yahoo.com)
To our members:
This thread gets very busy at times, so in order to keep things less overwhelming and a bit more organized, we start a new thread each month as well as after 3 BFPs. A link to the new thread is always posted at the end of the current thread to help everyone find their way over. The threadmistress would really appreciate it if everyone would post their updates in Red. That way, if I get a bit behind, it is much quicker to get the thread up-to-date.

KNOWLEDGE IS POWER!
Want to join the fun??
We welcome one and all. It doesn’t matter if you have never charted before or if you’ve been charting to avoid. I am sure you will find lots of help and support in this group.
If you would like to join, CD1 is the time to do it! That way, we can cheer you on
throughout your cycle, rather than 2 days before you test!
Please don't be discouraged by the number of posts in this thread. You don’t have to read the whole thread to join. Feel free to just jump in on the last page. Just read through these first couple of posts and post a reply with the following information and we will get you added right away. Of course, none of this info is a must but we like to know a little bit about one another.

Things I Have Learned About TTC
by WC's Sherylb
* TTC is a journey. You will discover things about yourself that you never expected. You will face fears you never thought you had. You will find joy in little things.
* TTC can bring you closer to your DH, or it can pull you apart. If your marriage is not solid, you will find out quickly.
* No one understands exactly what you are feeling at any given moment, but someone can empathize at least a little bit.
* You will experience an emotional roller coaster ride. There will be highs and lows and fast moments and slow. Sometimes you have to wait in a very, very slow moving line. You may not even get the seat you want. It is not always fun, it can be scary, but in the end it is worth it.
* "Just relax" is the last thing in the world you want to hear from someone, but it is OK if you say it about yourself.
* There will be moments when you question your own decision to start TTC. You will wonder if you should wait or if you should just give up. Those are normal. But you will get past those feelings.
* The blue and green turtle likes to pop its head out! You will hear of someone's pregnancy and turn green with envy and blue inside because it isn't you.
* It isn't fair, it isn't easy, and it isn't pretty. But you keep doing it because the reward is worth it.
* You will be your best friend and your worst enemy. Your body will
surprise you and yet disappoint you.
* Some women do get lucky and conceive right away. Others aren't so lucky and have to struggle to get there. Hope you will be in the first category, but prepare yourself to be in the second.
* Once you decide to TTC, there will be babies and pregnant women everywhere! You could swear there is a baby boom going on!
* You will have questions. No one will ever be in exactly your position, so don't be surprised when no one can give you exactly the answer you are looking for. But there are people that can contribute, so don't be afraid to ask!
* Two lines on a pregnancy test is not the end of the struggle. Pregnancy has lots of struggles in and of itself.

- Common TTC abbreviations
This is a list of some of the more common TTC abbreviations. I know as a newcomer to the TTC threads, it can be hard to keep them all straight. I hope these will help, and if anyone has any they would like added, please let me know!
•2WW: "2 week wait" - The approximate time from possible conception to menstruation due date; Pregnancy tests should be taken near the end of the 2WW.
•AF: "Aunt Flo"; Your period; Menstruation
•AFNW: "Aunt Flo Not Wanted"; the day your period is expected to start, but you are hoping it doesn't!
•AO: anovulatory (cycle without ovulation)
•BBs: "boobs"; breasts
•BBL: "be back later"
•BBT: Basal Body Thermometer; This is used to measure your basal body temperature, when you wake up in the morning, after at least 3 hours of sleep, before you start to move around; Use a special BBT thermometer to take your temperature because they measure the small changes in temperature from day to day more accurately than the regular fever thermometers.
•BCP: Birth control pills
•BD'ing: "baby dancing"; baby-making intercourse
•BFN: "Big Fat Neutral" or “Big Fat Negative”; Negative pregnancy test.
•BF'ing: breast-feeding
•BRB: "be right back"
•CD: cycle day; a particular day in your menstrual cycle (example: CD1 is the first day of your period)
•CL: Cover Line; a visual tool used to separate the low (pre-ovulatory) temps from high (post-ovulatory) temps; a coverline is typically based on the temperatures 6 days prior to ovulation.
•CM: cervical mucous; one of the most useful clues your body can give you in predicting your fertility; it can range from dry, creamy, sticky, or (the most fertile) egg white/watery type.
•CF: cervical fluid; same as cervical mucus
•CP: cervical position; an optional, but sometimes really useful, fertility sign; CP will generally be low, firm and closed before and after ovulation, and high, soft and open during your fertile time.
•DD: "dear daughter"
•DH: "dear husband"
•DS: "dear son"
•DPO: Days Past Ovulation; number of days from your post-ovulatory temperature rise. (Example: 1DPO is the day after your ovulation)
•Endo: endometriosis (can be a fertility problem)
•EDC and EDD: estimated date of confinement (antiquated, but still used by physicians) and estimated date of delivery
•EPT: a brand of pregnancy test, or, generic for "early pregnancy test"
•EW or EWCM: egg white cervical mucus; the most fertile quality CM; it is slippery, clear and stretchy, like egg whites; also EWCF
•FAM: Fertility Awareness Method; the method of fertility and/or birth control that correlates the physical changes you experience during your cycle to predict when you are most fertile
•FF: Fertility Friend, an online (free, for basic services) fertility charting site (website); (could also be formula feeding; check context)
•FM: fertility monitor
•FMU: first morning urine
•FP: follicular phase; the phase before ovulation, where the egg matures in the ovaries
•FRED: First Response Early Detection (pregnancy test)
•HCG: human chorionic gonadotropin; the hormone that is present during pregnancy and what the HPT's and blood test measure to determine if you are pregnant
•HTH: "hope that helps"
•HPT: home pregnancy test; a urine pregnancy test you can take at home
•IMHO: "in my humble opinion"
•IMO: "in my opinion"
•IUI: intra-uterine insemination
•IVF: in vitro fertilization
•KU: knocked up
•LH: leutenizing hormone; the LH surge is what is measured by the OPKs; this hormone signals the egg to burst from the ovary
•LP: luteal phase; the phase of your cycle that begins just after ovulation and continues for 10-18 days, ending with the start of your next period; during the LP, your body continues to build up the lining of your uterus, and produce hormones which would support a pregnancy; this is the time when a fertilized egg can implant into the uterine lining
•NFP: Natural Family Planning; similar to FAM, but with abstinence during the fertile period
•O, Oing, Oed: ovulation, ovulating, or ovulated
•OPK: ovulation predictor kit; tests for presence of LH surge that usually precedes ovulation by 12-48 hours; these tests are quite expensive and not always accurate (if you take medication or depending on your age); these are optional when charting with FF, but if your fertility data is not clear it can bring more light and help interpret difficult cases
•OS: Ovusoft; charting software based on TCOYF
•PCOS: polycystic ovarian syndrome (a fertility problem)
•PG: pregnant
•PIAC: pee in a cup
•POAS: pee on a stick
•RE: reproductive endocrinologist
•SA: semen analysis
•SH: "sweet husband"
•SO: "significant other"
•SYS, SYL : See ya soon! or See ya later!
•TCOYF: Taking Charge Of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler; a book and website about charting and fertility.
•TMI: "too much information" - There is no such thing when TTC!
•TTA: "trying to avoid"
•TTC: "trying to conceive"
•TTFN: "ta-ta for now"
•TTYL, TTYS: "talk to you later" or "talk to you soon"

I am not quite sure what is going on. I was so optimistic at the beginning of the cycle. The longer it gets the more discouraged I get. I did have what could be watery cm today but my cervix is firm and opk's are still negative and seem to be getting lighter again not darker. HMMM?

Mysikal and Gymwidow~ I am sorry the witch found you
Just checkin' in. I am on cd 12. O should be on its way sometime later this weekend early next week (usually day 16 - 18). This month I tried drinking 1 glass of green tea and taking 2 tablespoons of Robotussin each day. I am willing to try anything. We started our BD every other day and then hope to BD every day when I get a positive OPK (don't want to tire ourselves out again). I pray to god every night that this will be our month, hopefully he will answer my prayers this month.
Good luck to all the future testers! :)

marteneym, I so don't blame you for feeling frustrated! It looks like you just have easily-delayed O's, which would explain the random fertile CM & fluctuating LH. I'll keep thinking positive O-thoughts for you :).
Murphy, You Go Girl! Good for you for holding out.
Lizzard, you crack me up!
My DH actually watched a few with me last week. One featured a woman and her husband planning a home birth for twins, even though they lived in the middle of nowhere & the midwife was 3 hours away. Her labor came on fast & furious & her DH just filmed the whole thing. It was so amazing to watch her birth & catch those babies on her own!!! DH kept saying, "that's how it's supposed to be. Natural." And I could only say, "She is NOT normal."

Good morning, everyone. Welcome to this group , mkvh & Indiana Bride!
You guys are cracking me up with the TLC references. I really can't see my DH watching The Baby Story. But I too tend to stay far away from that show as I stayed away from The Wedding Story while planning my wedding. But it is apparently good for a laugh!
15DPO and temp still high. My newest "symptoms" are swollen lips and itchy/burning armpits. Thankfully my armpits are not in this state constantly. It comes and goes. How is everyone else doing?

Just Checking In!
I think, based on OPK's and CM, that O will be today. We have been BD like crazy. I am starting to get a bit discouraged, this is month #10 of trying. With our DD it only took 2 months. I just thought baby #2 would be just as easy! If this month doesn't work I will be calling the Dr for an appointment.
Good luck to everyone. Oh, who was #3 in the last thread. We close them down so fast after that third BFP that I sometimes miss it. I went back and saw it was Littlestar- Congrats!

amurphy, you are way more patient than I am... I would have tested several times already at 15 DPO. :D
As we all predicted (ha), FF moved my O date from CD 16 to CD 18 today, so now I'm 3 DPO. On one hand I'm glad that it sorted things out and is now more accurate, but on the other hand, now it means our timing wasn't the best. :( Oh well, a chance is a chance and FF gave us a Good, so I can't be too upset.
Good luck to you ladies!

Whoops; missed those posts that snuck in.
Murphy, you're killing us :). Actually, the shows we were talking about are on Discover-Health, and they're no Baby Story. Let's just say they leave little to the imagination, and most involve problem-births. Very interesting, really.
Missy, fingers crossed for ya!
Lizzard, we have the same BD schedule, and it looks like we're perfect cycle buddies :). We're definitely in this together.

Missy, we are also in month 10 of TTC. I am planning on calling for an appt this month as well. I hope you get your BFP soon.
Cm turned to all creamy yesterday. FF decided to give my dashed CH but I don't agree with them. I wish i could because we would have a high BD rating. Unfortuately my chart last cycle did the exact same thing. BDing has not happened the last 2nights. No fertile CM and Dh and I have not been getting along this week. Not much else to report. Take a look at my last 2 charts and let me know what you think.

I am so confused... Ovusoft changed my O date from Friday to Monday... If that is the case we totally blew this cycle. FF still has be O date as Thursday. Anyone want to check out my chart?
Baby Lust
08-11-2005, 10:05 AM
Marteneym, I would definitely say you have not O'd yet. Your temps are pretty even around your "CL" but they typically shift pretty clearly when you do O so hopefully you can get your DH in the mood and get to BDing! :)
MMH, I think it could go either way. You could have a fallback rise, which means that FF is correct, however, OS could be right too because that is when your temp truly rises. Without CM observations, I don't know which one to suggest is correct, but don't lose hope! FF could be right!

All: I know I've written this before, but I can't tell you enough how much your cheers and chart compliments mean to this obsessed girl!
I was talking to a good friend at work today (who knows that I'm TTcing and who also charted) and told her that I was 15DPO, CD37.
She said, "You haven't tested?!"
And I said, "No."

Did I mention that my armpits are sore? Yeah. They still are.
FWIW, my shoulders and arms were sore the weekend before my BFP. It felt like some one had pulled my arms out of socket. I hadn't done anything strenuous either so it wasn't that.
So.... can you test tomorrow morning????? Pretty pretty please? Esp if your temp is still up. That way we don't have to wait the weekend... Totally up to you though :)

Hello girls! Can I join? DH and I have been moving our TTC date up and up, and then yesterday we decided why wait? We will probably be more "seeing what happens", but I want to keep charting because I love it so much! So now that we are TTC, wouldn't you know it I think that I am already Oing. I had a small temp jump this am and lots of EWCM today, which I haven't had for at least 2 cycles! My earliest O in the last 13 cycles was on CD 15, so this is early for me.
Anyhow, I am eager to get to know you ladies. I have to admit that I have been doing a lot of lurking over here. Congrats to all of the recent BFPs! Let the journey begin!

FF decided to keep my O date as Sunday instead of Saturday. Kind of a bummer since our BD timing isn't as great. We did BD on Sunday but not on Saturday or Monday. :( I just keep thinking - if I'm not pg by November, I have to go to the OB/GYN anyway for my yearly exam and I can talk to her then about my charts. Hopefully it won't be an issue and in 2 weeks I can call for a different kind of appt!

I'm completely taken aback by all your "enthusiastic" posts. You all know that I am afraid to test for fear of bad news. Well, the bad news came via my temp this morning. I had a pretty significant drop. :( I'm holding onto a shred of hope since I woke up at 2, 4:30, and 5:55 to pee and I took my temp before that last trip to the bathroom since I usually temp at 7. I did end up taking my temp again when I officially got out of bed (which is my normal temp taking time) and it was back up to 98.4. I don't know. I'm preparing myself for AF. I'm so disappointed. :(
Wrighty26
08-12-2005, 05:30 AM
amurphy - I'm pretty sure temping at a different time is a big no-no. :p Your body temp. fluctuates throughout the day/night-- which is why taking your temp every day at the same time is so important... How long is your normal LP?
Welcome Ericka and Nuhmah!
I'm 8DPO-- and I am so SURE that AF is coming next week. My face has started to break out, badly, and I have that all over bloat feel. :( Oh well! I honestly will just be happy to be back on track this month.
Here's my dilemma--my normal LP is about 12-13 days-- I'm scheduled for an ultrasound next Tuesday (which would put me at 12DPO). I have to call AT LEAST 24 hours in advance so that I don't have to pay $25 (which is less than what it would cost me for the appt, but still a wasted $25)-- should I call and reschedule? I'm leaning towards that way at the moment (and I even told the woman that I probably have to do this when she made the appointment!).
Sounds like I kinda made the decision myself, right? :D
Hope everyone has a GREAT Friday!

amurphy
08-12-2005, 07:07 AM
Thanks for all the good thoughts. I decided to put the 98.4 temp that I got at my regular temping time into my chart (but discard it) since it is just as invalid as the temp I took at 5:55 after an hour of sleep. I do understand that denial won't keep AF alway if she's planning to make a visit, but I'd rather not have that low temp to stare at it. Okay. Okay. Enough about poor little me.
Welcome, newcomers! Good luck!
bellefior: Sorry about AF.
I can't see the rest of the posts at the moment but I think most of them were you guys telling me that I'm a freak for not testing. I hope to come back here on Monday with some happy news. In the meantime, have a good weekend!! :)
One more thing...can I just say how great FF chart gallery is?! It's keeping me from losing all hope for this cycle. Wonder what I'm going to be doing with my Friday....Edited to say that I discovered the "temp adjust" option on FF. I used that and they gave me 98.1 to put in my chart. So that's that for now.

amurphy - Sorry we're being so pushy, we're just excited to see such a great chart. :D I know what you're saying about the disappointment though... I am determined not to test this cycle until I have to. We'll see how long that lasts, but at least I'm getting in that frame of mind early. :)
This weekend is gonna be a busy one for us... tonight we're visiting with some of my DH's friends from his previous job. We haven't seen them in a while so it'll be fun. One of the couples is pregnant with her 2nd, and the other is just starting TTC, so I'm sure the talk will be 100% baby. I'm just not comfortable talking about that stuff yet, so I'll probably be hanging out with the guys. :) Then on Saturday we're going to go to a cooking demo by Alton Brown, and hopefully meet him and get some pictures (crossing my fingers). On Sunday I'm meeting up with a couple friends of mine to go to a furniture auction and hit some resale shops. Should be fun, but busy. It'll keep my mind off the 2WW at least!
Have a great weekend ladies!!

*Stupid Question Alert* I know this has been asked a bunch but I just thought I'd kill some time on a Friday afternoon...
I'm going to a wedding tomorrow night. I'll be 6 days into my 2ww. Should I drink or not? This is one of my sorority sister's weddings and a bunch of my college friends will be there. I know that they will notice if I'm not drinking, especially b/c 2 of them are pregnant right now and will obviously not be drinking. I'm thinking I may get one drink and nurse it for awhile and then switch to water or soda?
What would you do?

If you use FF what setting do you have Ovulation Detector set at? Advanced, Fertility Awareness, or Research? When I change my settings from Advanced to FA it changes my O date from Thursday to Monday.
Sabriel
08-12-2005, 02:19 PM
emermel Missing a temp early in your cycle shouldn't pose a problem. If you do happen to temp early, you can add .1 degree to your temp for each half hour. Also if you temp late, subtract .1 degrees for each half hour that you sleep in. This is not as accurate as temping at the same time each day, but things happen and this should give you a pretty good idea. Also, be sure to make note anytime this happens for future reference.
katmg I agree. A drink won't hurt. Have fun at the wedding! :)

MMH - I typically keep mine at the standard setting which, I believe, is Advanced. I changed mine today to Research (just curious) and it moved my O date from Sunday to Friday. I decided to move it back to Advanced, since that's where I typically keep mine, but the Friday O date does have its merits, so I'm interested to see what happens this cycle. I'm not a paid member so I can't access the FA setting.

Question for you ladies...why would I discard a temp? Also-here's my situation...DD is sick and woke up every 1-2 hours last night screaming so at no point last night did I get the requisite 3 hours sleep (remember that this is what we all want to get ourselves into  )-so should I discard today's temp? I know that everyone told me that since AF was here, that the first few days of temping didn't really matter (which is good to know)...but the witch has left the building and I don't know if I should be discarding all of my temps until DD starts sleeping through the night again. I know I am asking a lot of questions, but I am new to this and any advice you ladies can provide is greatly appreciated. TIA
Sabriel
08-13-2005, 05:20 PM
emermel I wouldn't discard the temp just because you didn't get 3 hours of sleep. I have found that even when I toss and turn for the last hour before temping or if I get up to go to the bathroom it doesn't affect my temps too much. Just make a note that you only got 2 hours of sleep or whatever for later reference. I personally would only discard a temp if it is way high from a fever or drinking the night before, etc. Your temp today looks fairly in line with the rest of your chart so far, so I would leave it be. :)
bumble Sorry about AF. I understand how these boards can sometimes make things worse. I had to back off before we were TTC, because they made me baby crazy. Hope things go well this cycle!
amurphy I agree, your chart still looks good. Hopefully AF will stay away!

So, 10DPO for me... and I think my temp has started dropping :( It's hard to say because I stayed out late last night- and ended up taking my temp after only 2 hours of sleep.

Hi ladies!
We are still in the "seeing what happens" phase, but I have been temping and charting here and there since it is such a habit. While I am not concerned about timing right now, I am perplexed at my temps. I am trying to figure out if I am going to have a longer-than-usual cycle this time. I know my temps are sporatic, but anyone want to look at my current chart and the one from last cycle and help me figure out what the heck is going on? I have a digital thermometer - could it be getting old? I am confused...
Thanks so much for your help.
By the way, I have been lurking. :o Congrats to all those BFPs and welcome to all the newbies. This is a great group.

Bell, I'm sorry :(.
amurphy, I'm so sorry about the BFN :(, but your chart still looks so good. I've still got my fingers crossed for you. (And don't forget, you probably O'd CD26 instead ;) )
UTChick, I wish I had an answer for you, but without CM it's impossible to tell at this point. You'll have to wait for a few more temps before you know which one was the fluke.
Wrighty, your temp today could be off because of being out late, but it's not really that low, so don't fret just yet.
Emermel, I wouldn't discard the temp, either. Mostly because it's still in line with the others. If you had temped much higher, then you would have known it was because of being up all night. It gets sticky if something like that happens right around when you expect to O, but even then, you just keep on BDing until you know for sure you've O'd.
Please keep updating your stats as I'm able to edit the front page!

Yeah, I haven't really been paying attention to CM since we were taking it easy this cycle and I realize that makes it more difficult to decifer. I mainly want to figure out if I am having a super long cycle this month since my temps seem to be going down instead of up. I have yet to have the same number of days for more than one cycle (38, 33, 32, and now this crazy one  ).

Polkadot-- Since you definitely seem to have a dip in temperature right before/on O, I'd say you had some great timing :) Your CM could have been obscured though. So basically, I'm not help at all!
Katmg-- Glad to hear you guys had fun at the wedding! Hopefully, this is definitely your month. Things are looking good so far!
Flygirl- Your chart looks mighty nice :)
UTchick- From what you have posted--I would possibly chalk it up to a annovulatory cycle. The temps are definitely erractic looking :( I'm no expert though. Has this ever happened to you before? I know how frustrating this is. I don't know how you feel about supplements-- but I took Dong Chai the last time this happened to me-- and it seemed to jumpstart something.... I hope that everything works out...please keep us updated!

I've been lurking here the past few days because we aren't TTC yet but plan to within the next few months. We have been charting to avoid since December. Anyway my question is this: for the past few days my temps have been consistently between 96.7-97.0. I usually dip down there a time or two pre-O but usually not this long. Is this something that I should be concerned with before we start TTC? I had my thyroid checked at my annual exam 1 1/2 yrs ago, asked about it at my last one this past spring and she said it was normal last time and didn't need to recheck it at this point. TIA!

Wrighty26~ Thanks for your thoughts. As I told flygirl, I really didn't pay attention to CM this time. However, today it was what I would consider creamy but also could be the beginnings of egg-white. Do you know anything about CM patterns with anovulatory cycles? I have only been charting for a couple of months and I am pretty sure I O'd each time, so I don't think this has happened before.
So much for my "seeing what happens" mentality. I have become obsessed with figuring out this mystery.
ABirney~Wish I could help, but obviously I don't know much about charting myself.

UTChick-- I tried to do some research for you on annovulatory cycles and CM and basically the consenses was that everyone is different :( If your temps continue like this, I would make an appt with the Dr....Sorry I can't be more helpful! Annovulary cycles (and who's to say yours is! I'm certainly no Dr/expert) are common, so what you are experiencing isn't abnormal. Just know we are all here for you!
Applebee- Welcome :) Hopefully your stay will be short and sweet!
ds2003 - :(
Well, I had a HUGE temp drop today so I expect the wicked wench later today/tomorrow... The temp isn't 100% accurate b/c I got out of bed and headed toward the bathroom before remembering that I hadn't temped . I DOUBT that getting out of bed for less than a minute could make my temp drop that low though!
This could be TMI, but does anyone temp vaginally? I think I may start-- I'm a mouth breather and while I obviously still had a temp rise/temp pattern, I don't think it's reflective of my actual body temp!
Hope everyone has a great week!

I just got 5 free days of VIP membership! Just in time for me to obsessively check my chart and see what FF says. I did decide to go with both the FAM and Research analysis of when I O'd - last Friday as opposed to last Sunday. Which means I'm 10 DPO today instead of 8 DPO. So far my chart looks okay but since I've gone to 16 DPO without being pg, I'm not getting my hopes up just yet.

Welcome back from the weekend... my temps have been really even and I had a big dip yesterday at 6 DPO. I'm trying not to look too closely at it, but I'm crossing my fingers it's a implant dip. :D
As hard as it's going to be, I probably won't be testing until Sunday, which would be 13 DPO. Maybe not even until Monday. My in-laws are coming into town on Friday and leaving Sunday. I'd love to test before they get here on Friday, so if we do get a + we could tell them in person, but that'd only be 11 DPO. It'll all depend on how I feel throughout the week and what my DH's opinion is.
Welcome Applebee!
Hello ladies...
Well I am sorry I have been MIA.. work has been super busy, and this weekend I went away w/ about 10 girls to Nantucket... so now I am officially tired.
I am sorry I have missed everyone who is new .. SO WELCOME.
All those that the witch found... I am sorry
And GOOD LUCK TO ALL TESTING THIS WEEK.
Me: I am still waiting to O'd and I am on CD 25....

Polkadot, bumble, sabriel, nuhmah, wrighty26: Thanks. I had another temp drop today so I'm calling myself out for this cycle. I'm feeling okay though. I got all my crying done on Saturday and I'm anxious to move on.
Ericka: Keeping my fingers crossed for you. And I agree that you should keep hoping despite the BFN earlier in the week. Keep us updated!
Bumble: Sorry about AF. I hear you on trying not to obsess during this new cycle. I think I could use some distance myself. I know my work would appreciate if I didn't focus all my attention on pregnancy boards!
wrighyt26: I should go check out your chart...but how are you feeling today?
flygirl: Oh, yeah. I forgot that I didn't O until CD26. ;)
katmg:Glad you had a good time at the wedding. I agree that TTC requires some great balancing skills. Good luck!
Polkadot: I would put EW and it sounds like you had great BD timing.
Ds: Sorry about AF. :(
Welcome, newbies! Good luck!!!
As for me, I'm going to admit something totally crazy....I'm a little reluctant to say that I'm CD3 and am kinda holding onto flygirl's theory that I'm only 15DPO today. If you look at my 4/29 chart you see that I had a BFN and then two days of bleeding starting on CD41, which I assumed was my (.). But then a week later I found out I was PG. Now, this cycle, I had two days of light bleeding (TMI)--definitely more than spotting but not a heavy flow--and then this morning there was nothing on the tampon. If the light flow continues (or if I stop bleeding completely), I'm going to take it easy this week--not chug wine, eat sushi, etc.--and test again. I realize that its about 99% likely that I'm onto a new cycle.... but.....

amurphy Your temps still haven't gone below the coverline, so I wouldn't lose hope yet.
Ryan Thanks for the welcome! Hope you O soon!
Lizard Looks like a nice implantation dip to me! Hoping this cycle is it for you!
katmg Yay for free VIP membership! I love that I can print out my charts with DPO counts during free memberships.
Wrighty26 Sorry about the temp drop. I do not temp vaginally. I am also an open mouth breather (stupid allergies! ), but I usually have a very obvious temp shift so I haven't worried about it too much.
ds2003 Sorry to hear about AF. Doesn't she know when she's not welcome?
Applebee Welcome! I hope your stay is short and sweet. :)
UTChick Don't give up on this cycle yet! You may just have a delayed O. You could O anyday now. Annovulatory cycles don't really have any rhyme or reason, and like Wrighty26 said they can be normal to have every once in a while.
Ericka_Jarett Sorry about the BFN. Your chart still looks good! Crossing my fingers and hoping this cycle is it for you!
ABirney I can't answer your question personally, but TCOYF says that you should suspect hypothyroidism if you have consistantly low temps (around or under 97.0), long cycles and/or repeated anovulatory cycles. Though I am hypothyroid and never had any of these. Does hypothyroidism run in your family?
As for me, I am CD14 and waiting to O. I have been spotting today and yesterday. I am guessing that it is ovulatory spotting, though I have never had it before.

amurphy - Sorry about AF. We're both in similar situations- 3 cycles of ttc, 1 of which I got pregnant. Hopefully cycle 4 will be it for us both!
Still waiting to o. I've had weird temps so far this cycle. I think I'm really bad at charting or something. Trying to monitor my CM closely. I've been drinking water like a mad women this cycle--I'm hoping it will increase my fertile CM.

amurphy - stupid things happening huh? Same here. My temp dropped slightly and I have a little spotting, not totally giving up until I get AF, but really feeling discouraged right now. Had a good cry before getting my shower a few mins ago.
It's stupid, all I want is a baby, why does it have to be so darn hard for a married woman of 31 to get pregnant. Teens are constantly getting pregnant and don't even want to. Well I want to be pregnant, darn it.

I had 2 positive OPKs this weekend. We BDed the day before positive OPK because I had EWCM. Then we skipped Saturday (that is when I first got my positive OPK around 3 o'clock). I knew we were probably ok because you are just gearing up to ovulate when you get a positive OPK. So Sunday comes and I get a positive OPK around 3:00 still and then around 4:30 I had major ovulation pains. I am not sure whether that meant the egg was coming out then or not. We did BD around 9:30 last night (since I know you have about 10 - 12 hours to catch the egg). I assumed that my temp would spike up this morning but it didn't. So I did another OPK at 1:00 today and it was negative. So I am assuming that I did ovulate last night, but temp didn't really jump. Anyone know what might be going on?
Ericka_Jarett~ I couldn't agree with you more. Who knew it would be this difficult to get pregnant.
amurphy~ Still keeping everything crossed for you!

I totally missed the whole 3 BFP's and the new thread so i have been out of the loop! Congrats to everyone that got their BFP. Have a H&H pg!
As for me... first, resubscribing! Next, I have been so good charting this month! So i have a good chart going. I am on cd14 and we bd'd saturday and sunday. The only complete chart i ever had i o'd on cd20 so i figure we can bd every other night this week until the temp spike. Which would be next weekend if i typically o around cd 20. I wanted to cover my bases though so we started early.
I was very excited on Saturday since dh has been on board to ttc but hasn't been excited about it or willing to talk about it. He didn't want to stress about it and wanted to just see what happens which was hard for me because i didn't feel like i could share my feelings with him. On Saturday my sister (due in oct - lives in Morocco) sent us to bru to look at gliders so she can send us money and we can ship her one. (she can't find one there and the european ones are like $600 and she says they aren't comfortable) on our way out i said "don't you want to have a baby?" and he said "yeah.!" :D I know that seems like something so teeny tiny to everyone else but him actually giving an unwaivering answer like that is strides beyond where we were even 6 weeks ago! He would answer but it was always like, we'll see, or sure, or whatever, etc... He has never said "yes". Now i feel like i have a partner in ttc and together we bd'd to conceive. It just meant a lot to me. :p Maybe i will seduce him again tonight!

.... I'm pregnant... (I simply cannot believe I just typed that...). Here's a (short) overview of what happened:
7 DPO negative blood test
8 DPO negative HPT
9 DPO temp still up, boobs getting sore, no AF, nausea
10 DPO not temping, still no AF and symptoms galore
11 DPO a faint positive HPT
12 DPO a pretty clear positive (still lighter than the control line but an unmistakeable line that even convinced my DH ;) )
I'm happy and tired and worried and mainly just very very happy and grateful....
I'm worried since my LP is so short (soooo glad my FP tested my progesterone levels which were at 12.9 (7 DPO) which appearently is considered very good) and since my 12 DPO HPT line was a tad lighter than the control line. So, please, ladies, MAJOR sticky vibes!!!
Thank you all for your help and guidance -- it really helped me so much to share this crazy cycle with you!!!
I'd already made an appointment with an OB-GYN to discuss my short LP, so I'm seeing him (it's a HIM  ) on Monday, but obviously we'll be discussing something else then... ;) I'm sure it'll feel more "official" then. Right now I just need some reassurance that a) it's not a dream and b) that all is well with the little pinhead...
Oh, and I'm keeping all crossables crossed for those of you who are testing or in the 2WW!!! Again, I cannot believe what I'm about to say but...

First of all, congrats, uskiku!!
Wrighty26~That is so sweet of you to research on my behalf! I did a little myself and I am leaning toward it being a delayed O. Between the all nighters finishing my paper and the drama with DH, I think it might be a stress-induced delayed O. Time will tell. I wasn't supposed to by "trying" this month but somehow we have quietly started trying again. :o It is a good thing. :) By the way, I haven't tried to vaginally temp. My temps were pretty straight on until this cycle so I didn't feel the need to start that. Sorry to be of no help on the matter.
katmg~I am scared of the VIP membership...scared of becoming more chart obsessed than I already am! :p

Let the hmmming begin....I had a HUGE temp rise this morning. I was fully expecting AF to show-- but nada. I guess it's one of three things: I'm pregnant, my temperatures are erractic, or it was a complete fluke (I did wake up all hot).

X-posting from Seeing What Happens
I am out this cycle looks like for sure. AF showed her ugly face yesterday while I was on CD 35, DPO 12. Took a test got a negative, and than about 2 hours later she showed up. Totally bummed about it too. Had a good cry about it, since I would have loved to have gotten a positive this month. Maybe the Lord was sparing me though. Rebekah would have been turning 1 in April on the 18th and that was the day that kept coming up when I did the due date calculator if I was pregnant this cycle. Didn't have O pain like last month so not even totally sure I did O anyway. Oh well, on to next cycle, hubby will like all the extra BDing anyway I am sure. A May baby would be nice, heck at this point any month baby would be nice. My arms are aching. I told my mom, a friend of mine wants us over for dinner, now it will be after her mom leaves in 2 weeks. But she is pregnant and due in November (around her other son's 2nd b-day) and I just can't be around her right now. I love her like a sister (I don't have any) but I just can't do it. My mom said well take the time for yourself, that my friend will have to understand. (My mom knows my friend and her family) It's hard though.

Wrighty, if you get another high temp tomorrow, are you going to test? :D
Ericka, I'm so sorry. :(
As for me, I'm waiting for another temp jump. I think I am going to test on Friday morning... that's only 11 DPO, but I'd like to know what's up one way or the other before my in-laws get here. If I get a - and AF still isn't here on Monday I'll test again. I really don't feel any different except for my usual bloat.
Here's an odd question but... what exactly has to happen in order for FF to give you something different in Implantation signs, other than "none detected"? Anyone know? I'm just curious, because I've had spotting at 7 DPO and I've had dip (albeit on different charts) and it's never told me anything different.

Wrighty26 I know, isn't that crazy?! At 8 DPO I was totally convinced that I was out for this month, and I was so surprised to see that my temp was still up the next day. And even then I fully expected AF to show up (was traveling that day and that usually does it for me).

Oh my goodness this thread has taken off! I was away Wednesday through Sunday and I finally realized that there is a new thread! AUGH!
I don't have time to read through entire thread!
Well update on me: I am on 15 DPO and AF is expected this weekend. Now FF says that our intercourse timing was high this month but my dilemma is this:
On Saturday morning at 3 am we head to the airport to go to CA for week! I don't know if I should test on Thursday or Friday since I am having no signs of AF or anything else for that matter! My temps have been kind of wacky since we were going to be late and waking up way too early this weekend. What do you ladies think? Any suggestions are appreciated!

UPDATED UP TO HERE! :)
Whew! A lot to catch up on when this thread moves so fast! I'm sorry I don't have a chance to do all SO's, but I'm going to try to do a few.
Sabriel, if you think this wait is torture, you're not going to last the first 2ww!
marteneym, I'm soooooo hoping this is it for you!! **O-vibes**
jnshanna, I'm going to keep you in "Waiting to O" because I think FF is giving you CH too early. You're just now getting EWCM. Don't stop DDing yet! ;)
Fingers crossed for you, missy!!
Erika, I'm so sorry :(.
hbeshore, Ummm, I think... test NOW! ;)
amurphy, ????? :) Here's to hoping!!!
Guiness, here's to another week!!!

flygirl - Yup - I had the same dip this morning preceded by crampy type pains...no spotting though. I'm somehow supposed to make it until next Monday to test. Not sure if I'm going to last that long...Guess I'll have to see what my temps do in the next few days.

Sabriel- Same with my dh. He told me he needs a break tonight. I guess this is as hard on them as it is on us? Here's hoping b/c after the bfp i think we have to do all the work! ha ha.
marteneym- Fingers crossed! Just need to get over the O hump!
jnshanna- I went test crazy a few months ago! It can become addicting really fast! Wait as long as you can then just go for it. Buy a 2 or 3 pack and if you don't get a bfp on the first test them wait a few days. The key is to only buy 1 box a month though ;)
jnshanna- Yay for your ch's! I have only managed to chart 1 full cycle before we had a ttc breakdown so i am on my first month back to charting since Feb. Keep at it just to be on the safe side.
hbeshore - I would test. It's been enough time that a test should be accurate.
Hopefully i got a shout out to everyone!

Thanks Flygirl. :) It seems a bit odd to me too that I've had very stretchy EWCM yesterday and today yet it says I've O'd already. I'd be fairly happy with that O date since we did BD the day before and the day of but I'm not counting on it. I think the only tell I'll have is my temp over the next couple of days. And DH and I plan to BD everyday for the rest of this week ;) except Friday because we'll be staying with my SIL.

Thanks to you too ellidew. I was a nut last month about testing and I wasn't even charting! But my mistake was buying too many so I felt the need to use all 4 of them! Right now I only have 2 and I don't plan to buy anymore until after I get back from my trip with DH on 9/2. It's going to be hard to resist but I just have to keep telling myself "you can do it!". And of course I'm hoping above all that I will get a BFP before our trip on the 29th! :D Power of positive thinking, right? ;)

I honestly don't know WHAT the heck is going on. I tested today- BFN, of course. I honestly don't think I'm pregnant! I'll keep testing until I get AF--but I'm switching to those Dollar Tree tests because POAS is an expensive hobby :)
My temp also dropped this morning-- what is that about? I thought if anything if would go up! If I'm going to get AF- I wish she would just get here already-- I really don't want to have to reschedule my visit to the Dr. yet again!
Going to stalk charts-- be back later to post more :)

Thank you, thank you, thank you, LittleStar, Flygirl, amurphy, mkvh, Sabriel, Marteneym and everyone else -- DH and I really appreciate your good thoughts!!!
Flygirl, I had tears in my eyes, seeing the updated first page -- it just does not seem real...
Off to chart-stalking -- I'm going to leave tons of fresh babydust hanging around your charts!!!
Hoping for some *POSITIVE* news from amurphy and hbeshore soon! Looking good ladies. You too, Wrighty...just a Neutral, not a Negative this am... ;-)
jnshanna --funny, but the question of the day on FF is about EW after o...
Sorry to those that I missed...
Aren't our DH's funny thinking that having sex EVERY DAY will make up for not being pg??? Or that it will 'work'. Okay, there are only CERTAIN DAYS every month that it can even do any good! Though I am playing along to a certain extent. What can I say...it makes him happy to think he's working hard at this!
--------------------------
Me? CD 7. Weird rise this a.m., but the alarm didn't go off so I was about 1/2 hour late. Still not sure how time affects me. And I had to wake DH up before I temped 'cause we were way late. So that's probably it. But BD this morning just in case! CD7 would be inordinately early for an O....but better safe than sorry!
hey there I think my stat's are waiting to O??
I'm on the last of the estrodial and will begin progesteron on Fri. unfortunately my DH will be out of town on Thursday to monday but I think it will be ok or just another dissapointing month? who knows.... This is the second cycle of colmid....
I've been readiig the TCOYF but none of the signs are there for Oing?.... hoping it will be at least tomarrow so we have 1more shot.
Funny I have not gotten anyupdates emailed to me about this thread? hummm
temp still at 97.4 :o

Michelle ~ I'm still pretty new to charting so I don't have any advice but I hope you get some indication soon. And good idea to go to dollar test. It is expensive to test!
uskiku ~ Thanks for the babydust! :D
klav ~ I'm hoping that O holds off for you until your DH gets back. Just BD before he goes just in case you O after he leaves. ;)
I noticed that topic too mkvh. How funny. Well, my temp went up again this morning. 2 tenths this time. So FF changed my O date to CD 13, the one day we didn't BD. I really don't know what to believe because I don't see a definite thermal shift. I took another OPK yesterday afternoon and it seemed like it could be positive but it's tough to tell. The lines were almost identical but not until after 10-15 minutes had passed. I took a picture of it as a reference. I'll take another test today and tomorrow if need be. I also added the times that my temps have been taken each day to my chart and that has given me a lot of open circles. I just take my temp as soon as I wake up to go to the restroom in the early morning. But I'm not consistent at all and it could be anywhere from 3-5:30. If I could just hold it overnight it'd be easy and I could just take it when my alarm goes off at 6 but I have to make it difficult. So that's my story for the day. Still just as confused as every and have no idea when I O'd.

I am 9DPO... although I feel like AF is on her way. With FF changing my O date our BD timing wasn't good this month. If AF is going to come, I just want her to come now so I can start a fresh cycle.
Edited: Changed DPO from 10 to 9.

jnshanna- I have the same problem. I get up to go to the bathroom almost every night so i used to temp whenever i woke up. Now i get up and go to the bathroom really quick and go back to sleep. I set the alarm to go off every morning at 5:30. (since i get up to go to the gym at this time two days a week) I usually fall right back to sleep if i don't go to the gym. So far so good and i think my temps have been really accurate.
MMHinCA- That's the pits but you aren't out yet. The worst part of the whole process is waiting for af! Hang in there!
My chart is kind of funny! For the last 5 days my temp has gone 96.7 - 96.8 - 96.7 - 96.8 - 96.7! It just looks funny going up and down up and down. Other than that i have no news to report. Dh and i took last night off... actually i told him that we either do it tonight and take tomorrow night off or you have to do it tomorrow night... then i followed it by saying "how's that for pressure!" :D So tonight we will definitely bd!

ellidew ~ Maybe I'll try that next month while charting. That might be a better way to capture my temps more accurately. FF says that my temps are ok and they fluctuate in normal limits so at least they aren't really erratic doing it the way I have been. I think it'd be good to see if the time difference changes my temp pattern next month. :)
LOL about your BD schedule. I have the same discussions with my DH.
MMHinCA ~ I hope you get some news soon.
Seeing What Happens
08-17-2005, 11:00 AM
ellidew, My temps were doing that too for several days in a row, then was the same for 2 days. But than it stopped when it bombed and dropped me. Can see it on the July chart.

08-17-2005, 11:53 AM
No O jump for me. I really thought this was it this time. My cervix is definitely firm now and was soft the last 2days. I dont know what to think. After 3days of BD in a row we are taking a break tonight. Do you think i could still get a jump tomorrow?
I called my Dr.'s office today. It will be a year in September and I want to set up an appointment for delayed ovulation. They said that I needed to see infertility nurse for a consult to go over history and possibly a sa. I had no idea a year ago I would be here. I am really very disappointed that I need this appt. They are going to call me in a week to set it up when she is back from vacation. I am hoping to O by then and get my BFP! Sorry to vent. I am just bummed out today.
amurphy
08-17-2005, 12:06 PM
marteneym: I'm sorry that you are going through so much to get the BFP you deserve.
jnshanna: I take my temps the same way ellidew does since I can't seem to sleep through the night without waking to use the bathroom. (Actually, it makes me nervous for when I do get PG! I'll be up every hour to pee!)
MMHinCA: It is still so early to assume AF is on the way. I understand the feeling that you want the new cycle to start, but the one you're in may just end with a BFP.
Everyone else: Hi! I read all your posts but I can't see them on the reply page. So, just know that I'm thinking about you and wishing you the best!
This cycle has been insane. Five days ago I was crying because I thought my cycle was over and now I'm waiting to test again. No AF/spotting since Sunday. I was so sure that BDing last night would result in some spotting but still nothing. This is torture.
jnshanna
Beliveme we have been sence monday!! just in case and the last BD will be on thursday Am....
hopeing this will be the month! :o
but not holding my breath :(
jnshanna
08-17-2005, 12:32 PM
It could happen! Just keep the faith, klav. :)
amurphy ~ Yay, there's still hope! Do you have a plan for testing? BDing will usually help AF make her entrance for me too but sometimes it takes a couple of days. I hope that isn't the case for you and she just simply doesn't plan on coming at all! ;) Your temps still look good so it's possible.
Marteneym ~ I'm sorry that it's been so long for you. I hope that you can get some answers from your dr. appointment. {{Hugs}}

uskiku, CONGRATULATIONS! That's so awesome and I'm so happy for you!!!
Ericka, I'm so sorry. I hope that the next cycle brings you the POSITIVE news you deserve.
amurphy, what a mess. I'm crossing my fingers and toes for you!
Hi to everyone else! I'm at the really boring part of the cycle - CD8 and not expecting to O for at least 10 days or so - so I've only been reading along now and then. I'm so excited to see another BFP in here and am hopinghopinghoping that some more will show up soon!
My DH is getting more excited it seems. Every other day he asks me "Can we get you pregnant today?" I told him I'd definitely let him know when the "good" days are here, but in the meantime we can always practice! So we're practicing every other day for now and will go every day as soon as I see some good CM.
Going to find uskiku's fresh baby dust to roll in..... ;)
I'm not seeing what I should be accourding to TCOYF.. it should be atleast milky to eggwhites at this time and I got nothing.. I think they cassifies it as sticky... not change for about 4 days..? am I not see something?? I can see the pattern in my temps it's been at 97.4-97.5 so no Oing has happened.... but it should in the next day or so.... So how do you know if you did not O and still get AF? is that possible?? my temp should change in a day or so fingers crossed

I just have to share the things that DH has been saying. He is so funny!
I asked him last night if we were going to BD that night and his reply was "I don't want to use up my sperm until you are fertile". I was laughing so hard!!! And then every time we BD he will ask if I thought he got me pregnant that time, lol. Men are so funny ;)
Anyhoo, have a great day ladies! :)
dlj78 mine does the same thing..
and sometimes in the car he say's " I want a baby, why can't we have one?"
not that I'm not , were not trying!!;)

klav, wrighty and jody - Men are hilarious! I've told him the stats on the chances of getting pg in one cycle and his eyes popped out of his, lol. When I go to update my chart, he'll say are you going to check on your ovarian calculator. He's silly. But I'm glad that he is interested in this process :)

nettreefrog Welcome!
Indiana Bride Glad you had a good time at your convention! Good luck testing soon!
Everything your DHs are saying is so cute and funny!
As for me, I am CD17 and no O yet. Everytime my body gears up to O, it just doesn't happen. :( I stopped spotting yesterday. Still not sure what that was all about. Things have been really stressful here though, because I found out that my parents are separating last weekend. Maybe that is delaying O. I have an appointment for my annual exam this afternoon with a midwife that I have not seen before.
Have a good day ladies!
Wrighty26

Sabriel - Sorry to hear about your parents! Mine got divorced 2.5 years ago (right after I got married!), after 28 years of marriage. It WAS super stressful--there was SO much tension... so just try to take it easy! I know, easier said than done
nettreefrog - Welcome! Hope you aren't here too long :D
Indiana Bride - Good luck! Keep us updated :)
Soooo, my temp is still up, but I'm still getting BFNs. If I were pregnant-- I would be getting at the very least faint BFPs right now- wouldn't I? I'm 14DPO (supposedly- who knows, maybe I didn't even O?)
UGH. This is SO frustrating. Thankfully, I have my Dr. appointment on Tuesday.
and yes, I'll test again tomorrow, because I am obsessed!
Good luck to all testers :)

What the hell is going on with my body?!?!?! Tested again this morning and got a BFN! So I put my stats into FF and it MOVED my O date AGAIN. Putting me at 13DPO and noting "implantation spotting." I feel like crying.  :(
(You know what's kinda freaky though. My new estimated "due date" is 4/28--my birthday--and my new test date is 8/24--my anniversary.)
I'm sorry to be so self-absorbed. I'll be back to comment on all your posts when I get out of my 9 a.m. meeting.

Welcome nettreefrog!
amurphy - I saw you had another neg test yesterday. :( What's your plan?
As for me, my FPS's are ridiculous today. I feel nauseous, feel like I'm catching a cold, and everything STINKS. I walked in our work lunchroom yesterday afternoon and it smelled like grease so bad. I couldn't eat my lunch in there because it was so smelly. My temp did go up a smidge today. I'll test tomorrow morning, since the in-laws will be here in the afternoon.
There's lots of good looking charts out there... good luck ladies!!!

Sorry to hear amurphy and Lizard. hate that things just can't be normal for all of us, instead of all this weird stuff going on.
My poor hubby, he hasn't had any since last Tuesday night when I went away to my mom's. Came home and was just so tired Sunday, we didn't do anything but cuddle and sleep. Than Monday AF showed. I know we will have to make up for it this month, but that's ok, if it will help me end up with a BFP in the end. :)
We are heading to Maryland for the weekend to do some caching (sort of like a scavenger hunt, www.geocaching.com)

Welcome nettreefrog!
Sabriel ~ I hope O finally comes for you soon! I bet the stress is playing a part. It's amazing what stress will do to our cycles. Hang in there. My parents divorced when I was very young so I don't have any experience in that area but I'm sure it's very stressfull.
Wrighty ~ Good luck with your testing tomorrow! I'll be thinking positive thoughts for you. :)
Awww amurphy ~ I'm sorry your body is being so difficult! The good news is at least AF hadn't arrived yet, right? And that is pretty cool about the dates! :D
Lizard ~ Your chart is looking pretty good! Best of luck to you tomorrow.
Ericka ~ That sounds fun! I've never heard of that before. Have a great weekend!
klav ~ We haven't had that problem but we've only been trying for 2 months. I have noticed that sometimes it may take a little longer for him to get an erection and I think that's because we've broken our passion into laughing because we just thought of some technical thing that we need to do. Come to think of it, there is a lot of laughing going on while we BD lately. I figure at least we're having fun. ;)
I'm leaving tomorrow morning to go to a concert and we'll be staying in WA until Saturday so I'll be MIA for a couple days. My temp stayed the same this morning and my CM seems to be slowing down now. But I thought it was doing that yesterday and ended up still getting EW so I shouldn't say that too quickly. I'm feeling a little better today and am trying not to obsess quite so much. I'm still unsure of when I O'd though and that bugs me but oh well. We did get a good amount of BDing in so hopefully it's enough.
emermel
08-18-2005, 08:59 AM
Do yotu ladies think that it's normal for my temps to go completely up and down like they have been? I feel like I should probably be pretty close to O'ing (assuming that I do), but I haven't seen any sort of temp rise at all (in fact, they are very much doing the cha cha and going up and down). Given, I haven't been sleeping well and have been taking my temps at slightly different times on some days. I am going on the assumption that I will O soon (ignoring the fact that there have been no signs) so the BD fest has begun. If someone could take a look at my chart and see if you see something I don't, I would appreciate it.
Ericka_Jarett
08-18-2005, 09:48 AM
not sure the exact area of Maryland hubby is planning to hit. Probably will be all around the state. :)
emermel the only thing I can think of to make your temps be so diffrent is the time you take them. you should try to take you temp at the same time each day and only have a varyation on time of about an hour. this is what I read that may be why your temp is jumping up and down. I find that when I take it at 8 rather than 7. drinking will raise your temps too. mine are usuall 97.4 and 97.5 until O then they jump to 97.7 hope this helps?

Shanna There has been alot of laughing for us during bd also. It makes it kind of fun.
I have no idea what to think of my chart. It is STILL giving me dotted CH's. If I take out the negative opk's and ewcm after O it makes them solid. The ewcm could be questioned because of our bding but the OPK's were negative. HMMM? What do you think? I still don't think it looks like I have O'ed. I truely expected to wake up the last 2 mornings with high temps.
MMHinCA
08-18-2005, 10:13 AM
My temps still staying up there. I don't want to test til Monday (if AF does not come before then). This may be TMI but my nipples are extremely sensitive. They do get sensitive before AF but I feel like this is a little more sensitive. Who knows!
I am still confused on when I O'd. I took 3 OPK tests (- on 8/2, + on 8/3 and + on 8/4), I feel like I had O pains on Friday (8/5) so I am wondering if FF's O date of Monday (8/8) is correct. When I add my OPK testing to FF it changes my O'd to Thursday 8/4, but when I don't include them it puts my O date to Monday 8/8 (based on my temps). So I am either 10 or 14 DPO...
Anyone have any thoughts on when I actually O'd?

Martin: keep your chin up .. I know you and I have alot of similarities w/ our late O's... if we even know when we O...
My Update: Well I had a dr.'s appt today and she told me she was going to put me on Clomid... but I am going to Florida in beginning of September which will be the beginning of my new cycle so I think I will hold off this month and wait until the following month... (because I Do not want to be running around getting blood samples in Florida)... I did bring up my luteal phase issue (how I think it is too short) and she said that like 3% of the population have that issues... (not sure I agree w/ that) but whatever... anyway that is my update....
I hope everyone is hanging in there!!!

ericka: When I look at my chart and see big gaps between BD dates, I too feel a little bad for poor DH! Oh well. We more than make up for those brief gaps (especially once we know O is just around the corner). Have a good trip.
Welcome, hbeshore & nettreefrog
jnshanna You're right. It looks like AF has yet to make an appearance...so I'll do my best just to go about my business and test when my anniversary comes around. It is frustrating not knowing when exactly you O'd, but at least you can be confident that you covered your bases with the BDing! Enjoy your trip!
emermel: I imagine that the variation in the time you are temping would result in some crazy temps. Unfortunately, I can only speculate. Did you check through the FF gallery for charts that look like yours? I find that very therapeutic. ;)
You all are cracking me up with your DH/BD stories. At least there is some laughter mixed in with all the obsessing, right?!

Trying to catch up, but I've got a million & one things going on on the boards today, so I'm going to save SO's, if that's OK. I was directed (by our good friend Katy) to www.twoweekwait.com. You've all probably seen it; if not, have fun!
I've been having very vivid dreams for the past 4-5 days (had 'em last cycle, too, so I think it's a regular progesterone-induced PMS). This morning I dreamt that I tested BFP and delivered a 9lb. baby within the span of a day or so. And I was sent home within hours of giving birth. I knew nothing about caring for a newborn & I had nothing, including diapers, blankets, clothes, etc. I felt ridiculous & kept telling people, "But I researched everything for the pregnancy! I just had the child too quickly!" I was walking around to different stores while trying to bf my newborn, looking for baby stuff anywhere I could find it. I finally found a BRU-type store with lots of lounge chairs outside for bfing, but they were all filled with women in very smart career suits chatting and smoking. That part pissed me off, but otherwise, what a great feeling! I need to stop thinking about it because I really think this cycle is too much of a long shot.

Curse you for showing me that site. I've been having uh, shooting pains in my nips all day (it's annoying me really bad), and what's the first person's story show as one of her symptoms? Shooting nip pain.
Ah well, we'll know one way or another very soon. :)

Thanks Ryan. I have a feeling they will start me on Chlomid at my appt as well. We may be in the same boat soon. At least its nice to have someone else to go through it with. Hope it works for you and you get your BFP soon.

Flygirl ~ Your dream made me giggle. It's so funny the things we dream about! Thanks for the link. I haven't been to that site before. And of course it will help me obsess even more!
My latest obsession is that I've had a runny nose and sneezing for the past 3 days. There's pretty much no way I've already implanted if we did get it right this month but I still obsess. I can't help it! :p
Question: What should CM do after ovulation if you actually do get pg? Should it be creamy? If you are dry is that an indication that you probably won't be pg that cycle? I'm just curious if there is a pattern that I should be looking for?

Wrighty ~ Good luck with your testing tomorrow! I'll be thinking high temps and BFP for you
amurphy ~ Our bodies can be so confusing...The good news is at least AF hadn't arrived yet, right? and ya know i looked at my eDD if i concieved this months and it would be my birthday! its cool when things work out that way!

I'm not very good at this. I wasn't able to find any other changes. It was fun though!

jnshanna - Your chart looks good too!
Stalk away. Thanks for noticing my chart. The encouragement is great! Hopefully it stays high! We are going to bd tonight just to be on the safe side... then again tomorrow night, saturday night, and sunday night if need be! ha ha! :D
I am going to avoid the two week wait website because that will only fuel the fire! I CANNOT obsess over this. I definitely have an obsessive personality and if i start reading about symptoms i will think that every single twinge is something! I don't think i could handle that kind of let down if af shows.
Good luck to everyone about to test. Hopefully we get another 2 grads real fast and can retire this thread (and maybe i will even notice that it happened before there are pages and pages of posts. We need to set up a private message buddy system!)

Congrats MMH. I seem to remember you just saying you can't wait for AF to come so you can move on. . . guess she was planning on staying away for a while :D
Flygirl, I am so right with you. I was going to be really good this cycle since last time I thought I had every sign. Then I had spotting on DPO 7 and I am now overanalyzing everything. This morning my temp didn't go up and I was bummed because I thought for sure it would go triphasic. Pure torture!!
I know I missed many other replies, but I just can't keep up. I am chart stalking with the best of them and rooting Os and BFPs to show up. I was laughing at all your DHs' comments. Mine has used, I am tired and have a headache a few times on me  I will say that when I try the guilt trip and puppy dog eyes when he is in this state, it doesn't really work. They definitely can't fake it :p
Hope the next BFP is right around the corner. These threads are moving fast!! Off to chart stalk and over analyze symptoms . . .
Question: What should CM do after ovulation if you actually do get pg? Should it be creamy? If you are dry is that an indication that you probably won't be pg that cycle? I'm just curious if there is a pattern that I should be looking for?
from what I have read in the TCOYF your cm usually dries up or goes to creamy for about one day . this is just waht I have read in the book... anyone else have an answer?

Okay-No one throw daggers at me-but on that ept test that MMH posted-I thought the test was supposed to have a + sign in the round window and a single line in the square to be positive-I didn't think that was one were two straight lines equal positive results  I'm not trying to be mean or anything just wanting to make sure we're all reading the test right.

If you look very closely there is a another line going horizontially (the line is very faint). I have taken 2 other test brands and both confirm that I am pregnant.

CONGRATS MMH :D I'm glad that you have taken two other tests to confirm. However, I just want to make sure everyone is reading the test right so that if someone else should use it to test that they are clear on what indicates a positive result.

Still nothing. I'm pretty positive that I'm not pregnant and that AF is not coming :( Thankfully, I am scheduled to have an ultrasound of my wonderful follicles (or lack of them) on Tuesday. I'm pretty sure that this will be followed with a round of Provera and then Clomid (this is what the Dr. and I discussed a couple of weeks ago).
So, on that note Threadmistress can you move me to Waiting to O. Thanks :)
Good luck to all testing... I'll still be here to cheer you guys on!

Hang in there Ilovemygeek. I know it is so frustrating waiting to O especially when it takes forever. Hopefully it comes soon.
Sorry Wrighty nothing has shown up for you. Hope the Dr. has answers on tues. Keep us posted.

Well, I got a BFN today. :( It could be too early, but I doubt it. We're both really bummed today. Guess we'll be on to cycle 5 soon.
wrighty: sorry to hear that things aren't going so well. Hopefully you get some answers from your appt next week.
Lizard: sorry to hear that you are bummed, but you are right that it still could be early. Fingers still crossed for you!
Those waiting to O: right there with ya! BDing like it's our job just in case! Have a fun :D weekend!
---------------
Me: having some confusing CM. Last month (in hindsight) I had a pretty clear pattern, though you wouldn't know it from what I recorded on my chart. Not so sure this month. I guess we shall see. Probably still have a week till O anyway!

Congrats MMHinCA!!! Happy & Healthy 9 months to you.
As for me - I got a new job, so not much time to spend in here... our computer at home isn't set up yet... so sorry for being so distant lately...
I got dotted crosshairs today, but think FF is on crack. I've been getting up an hour and a half earlier than usual so temp correcting... which we all know isn't perfect... so just hanging and waiting to see what happens. Another long cycle for me... with our move happening right at the time I normally O'd... it looks like it scared it into hiding. After this cycle, if I have another long ass one... then its back to the OBGYN.... It has been 8 months of trying so far.... it feels like fast approaching a year....
Hope everyone has a great weekend.

I think I'm slowly on the rollercoaster back to AF. My temp keeps going up and down...not thinking this is it though. I had such high hopes earlier in the cycle. If AF doesn't show up by Monday, I'll probably test then.

Hey ladies! AF finally showed up today, so this is officially CD1 of our first TTC cycle! :D I must say I've never been so happy to see AF! LOL! :p I've been lurking for the last few days in anticipation of being able to join. I have vowed not to get too obsessed, so we'll see how long that lasts. ;) Even though I've been charting since February, I was annov. until June so that's why I only have 2 charts on FF. They are very similar though, so hopefully that means I am back to a regular cycle! Good luck to those testing this weekend!

<delurking to address Indiana Bride's question about the EPT>
I was also really confused with this test when I took it. I had several other positives on other tests and when I took this one, it came up exactly like MMH's. Here it is at 15 DPO:
http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b5d837b3127cce926cc099611400000016109AYuWbVu4aO
I dug the directions out and actually read them. Imagine that! ;) The line that you are looking for that indicates a positive is the vertical line, not the horizontal line. I agree that the + vs. - is very confusing, but as long as the vertical line is there, you are golden.
Ok, just thought I'd point that out to anyone if they are using those HPTs. I would recommend the purple cap Equates or Clearblue Digitals over the EPTs any day of the week simply because of the confusion factor.

Updated up to here!
(I think. Please let me know if I'm missing anything.
Kat, How much more frustrating can they make it for us?
amurphy, I'm sorry this has been such a rough ride.:(
Wrighty, I hope the ultrasound shows something you can work with.
jnshanna, loads of creamy CM is another commonly reported pg symptom, but all the official literature are pretty adamant that CM is not indicative on way or the other.
Lizzard, I'm sorry about the BFNeutral. CD11 isn't a magic day ;). At least your temps are still quite high. And, :o , I'm sorry about bringing up the website.
Guiness, my friend, I think you may have me beat. Looks like you're going triphasic to me!

Thanks ladies.... it was really hard seeing that neg test this morning. I feel a lot better now, I really do. I went through FF and found loads of charts that had negs on 11 DPO and positives a day or more later. That'll keep me motivated. :D I won't test again until Monday since we'll have guests. Hopefully things change, and if they don't, I just need to keep on keepin' on.
Oh, and welcome catlover!!
If I don't post again today, everyone have a WONDERFUL weekend!
hum posting again because I'm not getting updates??
anyway... Iread some where that taking clomid can dry up your CM is this true does anyone experience this?
I'm trying to temp and track CM now but with the clomid I think tracking the CM is impossible? mine has been from dry to sticky nothing past that so I don't think I O'd but some dull pains yesterday in my side makes me think other wise.... not sure where I am if I'm waiting to O or DPO??
